Dan
Dan sighed as he walked through the woods on his way to a clearing near the center. Dan had taken some time off from the guild in order to improve his repertoire of spells. He has decided to ask his father for the next set of spells to train as he felt as if he has mastered the others to there peak. As he entered the clearing he saw a large tree in the center perfect for the first spell he had planned. Dan looked at the book his father had provided him about the next frost make spell. 'hmm so it's called Frost Make: Hammer it seems to work similarly to Frost Make: Sword but does blunt damage instead of cutting.' He thought as he looked it over. Well not time like the present I guess. Dan followed the instructions and claps his hands together and when they seperate a cyan spell circle 0.25 meters in diameter appears. As he opens his hands, a War Hammer made of ice, a one meter long shaft and .25 Meter head at the top appeared.

Dan felt ecstatic that it worked only for the hammer to shatter the moment after he created it. 'Dang it the ice was to brittle and could not keep it's shape.' Dan thought as he watched the ice melt on the warm ground. Dan tried once more increasing the density of the ice only this time he made it to sense and it was too heavy to swing without falling over. Dan sighed and tried again time after time for the next three hours. Finally after hours of attempts he claps his hands together and when they seperate a cyan spell circle 0.25 meters in diameter appears. As he opens his hands, a War Hammer made of ice, a one meter long shaft and .25 Meter head at the top appeared. This time the war hammer was dense enough not to shatter and light enough to swing.

Dan felt giddy as he walked over to the tree he saw as he entered the clearing originally and lifted his hammer onto his shoulder. 'now let us see just how much damage you can do.' Dan thought as he lifted the hammer with both hands before swinging it into the tree as hard as he could. The tree bark exploded with splinters as he hammer smashed through the outer layer of bark leaving behind small bits of ice and frost on the tree as evidence of the attack. Dan smiled at the sight with a look of pride that he learned this move so quickly. Dan watched as the sun began to fall and decided to call it a day. After cleaning up he went home to tell his father the great news and ask for any advice for the next spell.

Dan returned to the clearing the next day and sat down to read about the next spell in the set. From what he read apparently frost mages could alter there eye sight with magic to allow them to see thermal heat signatures helping to locate spots of heat in a otherwise cold area. Dan read how to do the spell and decided to try it for himself missing a warning on the back of the page. He stood in the clearing and closed his eyes and places the palm of his hand over his eyes creating a 0.25-Meter Diameter cyan spell circle to appear over each of his eye lids. Once he activated the spell his normal vision is replaced with thermal vision. As he opened his eyes Dan released a loud scream as his eyes began to hurt and burn at all the heat signatures around him.

Dan fell to the ground holding his burning eyes in pain asnhe canceled the magic flowing to his retinas and pupil. Dan stumbled to his feet and grabbed the book only to see the warning 'WARNING DO NOT ATTEMPT SPELL IN EXTREMELY WARM AREAS' Dan looked at the book in shocked silence as he absorbed what it said. 'great now you tell me.' he thought to himself in embarrassment as he had been to exited and missed the obvious warning. Dan stood and rubbed his forehead to alleviate the pain in his head.

Dan decides that there is nothing more he can do at the moment to train this so he calls it a day and plans to return closer to night. As he walks in the house his eyes still burning he sees his father reading in the kitchen. He walks by as he hears his father speak "So you tried thermal vision during the day didn't you." Dan froze in his tracks as he father laughed "I remember doing that too son I think every made who has learned it had done it at least once. There's a reason the warning is in there after all." Dan feels his shoulders sag in relief at his father's words no longer as embarrassed at his slight mess up he returned to his room to await sundown.

After a few hours of rest and some time to read about the spell more Dan thinks he now has a better grasp on it. He waves goodbye to his parents and heads back into the woods. As he enters the clearing he prepares to attempt the spell again. He takes a deep breath and closed his eyes and places the palm of his hand over his eyes creating a 0.25-Meter Diameter cyan spell circle to appear over each of his eye lids. Once he activated the spell his normal vision is replaced with thermal vision. As he opened his eyes this time he was not met with pain bit a medley of blues and greens. Dan looked around to see a multitude of colors. Dan heard shuffling in the trees and looked up to see a small red dot running through the trees. 'a squirrel.' Dan thought as he watched the small creature jump from tree to tree. He then turned to see a rabbit leave it's burrow in search of food.

Dan was mesmerized by all the colors and shapes he could now perceive. Dan felt a surge of excitement fill his chest as he watched the Forrest though new eyes. As Dan ended the spell he watches he new colors fade back into black as the moon began to rise. Dan was proud of his accomplishments these last few days. He was glad he talked his father into telling him about the next set. Now all he has to do was master these spells as well as he had the first ones. Dan smiled he he walked home in the moonlight and smiled at himself.
