Hargeon was a place that seldom crazy things seemed to happen within. Typically, things were calm, or at the very least, as calm as Vyra had known it to be. There were no shortage of things that had occurred on the daily that the Blue Pegasus Guild had to deal with, but due not just to her own affiliation with the guild, but also the nature of the things taking place, very seldom was Vyra ever involved with them. As such, all she ever really came to know and appreciate about the city were what she had seen. At times, rampant racism barely hidden under the guise of inequal distribution of wealth, countered against the hopes of mercantilism and aspiring careers not just of those who had lived within the city, but also those who arrived via Hargeon’s Port in hopes of finding themselves a new potential career. Marigold seemed to operate far more within the realm of madness and chaos, at least as far as she could tell from the Theater’s world.

In the wake of the one of the actress’s death, something that had happened only a few days ago after Vyra had arrived within the city, it felt like things were moving on as normal. If there were any sort of frustration or concern, it were not towards the safety of the people, but rather it was simply the fact that the death seemed to cause a new rift within the production; the actress’ death now meant that there was a vacancy within the production. For a moment, Vyra was worried that she might have been called upon to take over the task, as it was something that they had called upon her once before, though with that one it had been nothing more than a simple fill-in role, one that had barely any significance. This one was much different, both in terms of scope and importance towards the performance. It was one of the lead roles.

Vyra did not figure herself someone who could perform such a role, nor did she expect that those who would have made that sort of decisions would have even considered her if she had put her name forward. The reality was, the people whom were in their ecosystem, they had been performing for years before, longer than Vyra perhaps even had time to appreciate the nature of the finer things in life. They could act circles around her, and for a role that would end up being as prominent as this one would stand to be, to have anyone less than a qualified performer would no doubt result in a departure of the money that was coming in. And from what she had heard from people who were working within the Theater at the time, this was proving to be one of the most profitable that the establishment had seen in years. They weren’t going to close it, nor risk losing out on that sort of money.

At first she wasn’t sure as to whom it would be that they would attempt to get to replace the woman who passed away, but after a short time it became quite apparent just who was being considered as the favorite. It was the woman whom she had tried to advocate for on behalf, the woman who was considered by many of the people within the Marigold Theater to be one of the most premier actresses, not just within Marigold, but within Fiore as a whole. There had been plenty of talks from people whom believed that at some point she would end up going elsewhere, her future inevitably leading to her becoming one of the most prominent actresses within the world. This chance for a starring role, even though it was one that had been brought up in the wake of a tragedy, it was still an opportunity and an almost inevitable circumstance. If it had not been from this happening, it’s almost certain that eventually something else would eventually lead to it.

It were not as though someone of this caliber of acting would have required an advocate, but Vyra still found herself being contacted in order to persuade whatever sort of resistance that may have existed within it. As it was described to her, there were no shortages of enemies that she had built over the years, and unfortunately, the nature of the death of the performer recently only seemed to further drive sentiment that things were going quite well for her, more than what anyone reasonably assumed should have been feasible. But having Vyra work other jobs for the Theater had already helped build up her reputation amongst that group. She was helpful, willing to take on what was needed, and carried them out with success, as one would expect out of a guilded mage, so when she sought to advocate to push the woman towards the lead acting role, there certainly weren’t resistance like that of a common street person.

But a lack of resistance did not meant that not everyone was on board with the idea. The casting director, another person of influence within this sphere of power that was the Marigold Theater, did not seem to wish to push this woman too quickly, recognizing her star power, but also fearful of if her push came too quick. There were no shortages of other qualified actresses available to fill the role, and he was convinced that that would have been the better option, not just for the play, but for the Theater as a whole. It took some convincing on the part of Vyra’s darker persona, but it was not long before things had been seen in her way, with her having put on a small show herself with the help of a little bit of her Disease Magic making an appearance, not enough to draw attention towards her or anything, thanks to a wonderfully stolen prop and costume curtousy of the Theater. Following that, there took very little convincing from that point to make srue that the woman whom Vyra had found herself assisting was given the role that she was meant to have.
