Khalfani †
Today, Khalfani would venture out for one reason and one reason only. Rumors of a man who was strong and wielded an axe had met with the panthers ears. In his search for people to start this new thing with, he knew he would need someone strong. Someone who had battle experience and could not only lead an army, but inspire one. Ragnar, was his name. From the rumors he sounded like a Berserker, nearly insane. Apparently he had burned down a village in the North not too long ago. However, the rogue prince had also done some questionable things throughout his life. He was not one to judge and this idea he had would embody that. Things had already been set in stone on his behalf, now he needed to find people worthy.

The panther trekked through the outskirts of Baska, having travelled deep through the forests to find this one man. The son of Odin had been in the west so long that he knew the terrain like the back of his hand. There were a lot of territorial beasts in these forests, none in which Khalfani himself couldn't handle no doubt, but he wasn't in the mood to get down and dirty in that aspect. With his body just going through some serious changes, he was still in the healing phase. The man tapped his metal-ear wrap, causing the helmet to activate over his head and making it easier for him to see farther and pick up sounds perfectly from afar. Suddenly, he heard feet moving about thirty meters away. From the sound of it it could have been a person, perhaps Ragnar? With nothing to lose from finding out, the Sorcerer made his way towards the direction of the shuffling of leaves.

He had a proposition for Ragnar. Wether the man would deny or accept was a different story, but there was a lot for him to gain.

As the man turned towards the sound of russling leaves, it wouldn't take long before someone, some rich looking man with large rings on his fingers came running through the forest. The man looked like he had been running, and running for a bit before another sound came through. The sound of hooves beating against the ground and the sound of trees being knocked over.

The running man stopped to look at the person in front of him, and as he reached his hand out as if he was going to ask for help and object came through the night air and landed into the mans back. The man's eyes went wide and his mouth opened as he attempted to scream but nothing came but blood, his body fell to the ground. As he fell forward onto the ground, the person looking for Ragnar, if they looked down would see a massive hammer in the man's back, buried enough to crush the spine and most likely damage the heart and lungs. It was over a meter long, and the head along was over a foot long in every direction.

If the man was looking not at the man infront of him but towards where the noise was coming from he would see something of normal people. a beast that was as big and wide as a water buffalo while being far heavier. The horn on his head was a single one, forming a T shape on it, though on top of the flat of that T were large spikes, where it appeared skulls had been placed. It's appeared to be closer to a massive dog in shape and size, it's mouth appeared to be big enough to bite a man's head off with room to spare, its teeth looked like shortswords. From a distance color of the fur of the beast looked a dirty brass only as it got closer would people realize that it was not the color of the fur, it was armor. Sheets of Brass covered armor covered every inch of this beast and it didn't seem to slow it down at all in any way. The chains that were used to 'control' this beast was attached to a massive spiked collar around its neck. As the beast slowed to a stop infront of the corpse of the man. This beast had no skin, it appeared to be made of machinery and parts mixed together with a living beast.

Ontop of this massive beast was something that seemed to match what should be riding a thing like that. A thing that was as tall as the beast it was riding, covered from head to toe in blood red armor, a cloak of fur being held on by spikes, and the spikes topped with skulls, to really make sure that fur cloak stayed where it was. This must be Ragnar.

As Ragnar slowed his mount to a halt, he gave the person here a glance before he got down off his mount before reaching down and pulling the hammer out of the man's back. It came off with a wet noise as Ragnar reached down for the body with his left hand and threw it over the saddle of the beast he was riding. With a silent command the beast turned and ran back towards the direction where Ragnar came from. Once they moved out of sight of both of them, a clap of thunder could be heard in the distance from the direction that Ragnar had come through.

Ragnar stood there, with no mount now, but his hammer on his shoulder as he turned and looked the man infront of him up and down. Considering you are not running.... you are either stupid, stunned by what you saw or you are looking for me. I am going to assume the last one, so what do you want? Ragnar's voice through his helmet sounded more like a chainsaw at idle, waiting for something to pull the trigger to set it off.

Khalfani †
A lot had happened in the span of a few minutes. As Khalfani made his way towards the direction of the noise, he had seen a man who looked pretty wealthy running towards him. The Panther stopped in his tracks and raised his eyebrow. With his Titan's Helment, he was also able to see that behind the man a large muscly man had been riding on a big, glorious beast. It had armor made of brass which blended in as skin, chains, and horns of metal. All in all it was a sight to behold. Suddenly an axe had been flying through the air and struck the man with the jewelry from behind. Anyone outside of his helmet couldn't see, but Khalfani had raised an eyebrow.

This was Ragnar, that much was obvious once he had seen him but the young Morningstar couldn't help but wonder why he had murdered a man. Not that he cared. From the looks of things the man was a noble or something. Khalfani crossed his arms as Ragnar approached and the man gurgled on his own blood. The Berserker hopped off of his loyal mount, caught a glimpse of the Eternal Nightmare mage and ripped the axe from the new corpse. Ragnar had finished his task and had now been addressing the panther. The mage tapped the side of his helmet, causing it to retract and revealing his face.

"You've guessed right. I searched and I found you, Ragnar The Red. Your reputation precedes you." Khalfani began, glancing over at the corpse, then at the mount, then dragged his eyes back to Ragnar and his axe. His black trench coat flapped in the wind as his golden eyes gave off a shimmer as if reflecting the moons light. "Khalfani Morningstar." The rogue prince said coldly. His eyes and facial expression remaining unbothered, unfazed, but he was intrigued by the situation nonetheless. Khal always meant

business. "Who was this man?" He asked before getting straight into the conversation at hand.

Ragnar listened to what the man said quietly, as the eyes behind the helmet almost glowed softly, and when he was asked a question Ragnar turned and looked back towards where the body had gone and Ragnar had a choice to make here. Was he going to be honest or was he going to lie to this man... I suppose it didn't really matter all that much, atleast not at this range. If the man didn't take kindly to his answer and wanted to do something about it, Ragnar would be on him in less then a second.

" Sacrifice. He was a part of a bigger puzzle that I am putting together. " Ragnar then turned and started to walk in the direction that he had come from, through the knocked over trees. Ragnar moved in the heavy armor as easily as the Panther moved without armor, showing that Ragnar was either that strong or he had spent a very long time in that armor and was use to it at this point. If the man still had interest in talking to Ragnar, he would follow him through the forest one way or another. Ragnar had to get back to business.

Khalfani †
Khalfani raised an eyebrow, his cold expression still remaining, unwavering and unfazed. "I see." He simply said. A sacrifice? Perhaps it was to one of the Icebergan gods or goddesses. If that was the case then who could call such an action vile? Regardless, the Black Panther didn't mind. This was none of his business and from the looks of things this man lived a pretty good life. It was a shame that Ragnar had not taken the jewels off of the man or searched his body for anything else that may have been valuable. The Red turned and began walking through the forest. His entire demeanor was boastful and loud. You couldn't miss a man this big and brutal, not in the darkest of nights and certainly not when the sun was out.

The rogue prince wasn't done here though, he had came all this way for Ragnar and he wouldn't leave until he extended the offer he wanted the man to ponder on. Of course, if Khal could get Ragnar to immediately accept it that would make all of this easier, but he wasn't exactly sure what to expect from this man. He seemed to be blunt enough.

"And I'm assuming this puzzle entails more murder." Khalfani said out loud, casually trailing after the man. Chasing desperately after someone wasn't his forte so this was a chance given. Even if the man hadn't stopped and refused to acknowledge the son of Odin, he would continue to speak.

"So what will you do when they decide you're a big enough threat to bring down?"

As Ragnar continued to walk, he only half listen to what the man had to say as if he was going to make a point he should most likely do it quickly and without delay. Ragnar's attention span for this kind of things was very short and he had even less interest in someone like him. He smelled of privilege, and Ragnar wasn't a fan of that. The handful of people with that smell, rarely had the might to back it up. That is when he was asked a question.

Ragnar stopped for a moment, before moving on towards where he was going. This movement was long enough that anyone could have noticed the stop but it might not be because of the question. Ragnar already had an answer for that " It makes no difference to me, as long as the blood flows it matters not where it comes from. " Ragnar said, if his god didn't care where the blood came from why would he care.

Ragnar reached a tree that blocked his path, it seemed to have been knocked over by several other trees around it. Looks like Ragnar did more damage then he thought. Ragnar turned and pulled out his hammer and slammed it directly into the tree blocking his path, smashing it into splinters and wood dust before walking through the hole he had made in the trees and continued through, putting the hammer back in his belt.

Khalfani †
"So come with me and get paid for it." he said coldly immediately after Ragnar stopped and spoke.

So this was the type of man he was, guided by nothing but bloodlust. It could be dangerous to deal with, but Khalfani was more than capable. He had fought people far worse than Ragnar and he could handle his own even if he decided to allow that blood lust to rage on at this very moment. For the most part though, the Dragon slayer didn't want to get into that tonight. He had things to do. The rogue prince was impatient most of the time, but for Ragnar he could easily adjust. Especially since hw would undoubtedly be an asset to the cause.

"Get paid for killing nobles. Get paid for killing monsters. Lead an army to do the same and let's build something of our own. We can forge a different world for people like me and you who have no love or regard for those who seek to abuse their privilege." He said plainly. The panther could read people like a book and Ragnar was on the go. It was best to cut to the chase.

Ragnar laughed out-loud when he heard this offer. This man didn't seem to understand what he was saying to him and how Ragnar would take it. Ragnar, while a devout follower of his god of Blood, he wasn't a fool nor unintelligent as he said, not looking back to the rogue prince. You claim that you wish to forge a different world from the people who seek to abuse their privilege, and yet here you are offering me money, a privilege that most don't have, to more then likely help you enforce your desires on others. Does that not sound like you are seeking to abuse your privilege?

Ragnar was interested to see how the man would respond to this, because if he thought about it he might realize that Ragnar had a point. He was a man with enough wealth to hire Ragnar to do something, and Ragnar was well known enough to command a valuable price, and no one hired someone unless they felt that whatever they were offering could help enforce their own goals. Even if Ragnar may agree or disagree with his goals, the point was that he was no different then those he was claiming to try to in theory remove.

Khalfani †
Khalfani sighed. This was a sigh of relief, not of frustration or anger, not of annoyance or discontent. A sigh, that finally Ragnar had been paying attention. Tilting his head, he attempted to understand the berserker. The panther enjoyed the fact that this amusing for him. It was a contrast to Khalfani's own always-so-serious attitude, especially in this moment. As straight forward as he was, it also seemed like he felt like the world could work the same way. He was no idiot, that much was obvious. However, he did seem to already assume he knew Khalfani's intentions. That was exactly how you miss out on an opportunity to make something bigger than yourself. "Oh, you think the money's coming from me?" He began, eyes glaring at the back of Ragnar's head.

"I don't have that kind of money, Ragnar the red. I am a mercenary, my comrades are mercenaries. Some are merchants, but we're all hunters. We are all common folk who understand the class struggle, who have lived in the class divide, who have been making ends meet for as long as we could remember. Money is a means to an end. Maybe you don't need money to survive, that may be your privilege, but people still trapped underneath the boulders of this monarchy do, and the money we receive goes directly into helping us all. That is why we need a general. What we're building is a direct contradiction to what this country stands for." Khalfani placed his hands into his pockets, though his eyes never left. "Sure you can overhaul an entire nation by brute force, but where would that leave the people like us? They'd be left with nothing if they don't have the resources."

Ragnar stopped what he was doing now at this point as he listened to the man. He was starting to make sense now, things were adding back up and what was going on but he was confused still. Why him?

Ragnar turned around at this point, and he looked the person talking to him up and down for a moment. Ragnar started to move towards the man, before turning slightly off course towards another fallen down tree. With a kick of his armored foot, the tree that was just barely hanging on was pushed away from the stump. It took Ragnar a moment, but eventually he made something that was close enough to a cleared off stump for him to sit down on it and he was now giving this man his full attention. "Why do you believe I could be a general of anything, let alone something you claim can help undo the work of thousands of years of chains? "

Ragnar now that he was watching the man realized that there might be something different about him, though what that wasn't quite adding up in his mind and he couldn't figure it out yet. This man was now interesting for more then one reason. What was this guys deal?

Khalfani †
The moon danced above both of the men as if looking down upon them and cheering for this union. Two people from different backgrounds, different parts of the world, yet brought together by fate perhaps. Whatever it was, knew that they had a similar view on the world, or at least Khalfani had assumed so from Ragnar's bodily response to what he had said. The War lord turned towards the panther, kicked down an already lingering tree and sat on its stump. He was interested now, maybe just as interested as Khalfani was in him. To be honest, the Eternal Nightmare mage expected a fight, a struggle of some kind. He envisioned a back and forth until Ragnar was convinced, but he seemed good at telling when someone was genuine. Khalfani was no liar, it wasn't in him to be. Nor would he ever dare lie to someone he wanted to be a true ally. Why did he believe Ragnar could lead an army? Well, it was simple really.

"When I first learned about you, it was clear to me that despite being a loner, you're a natural leader with a unique type of fighting experience. The people call you a war lord." He began. It was cliche, but that engulfed the main point. However, Ragnar deserved a more...transparent answer.

"But as I researched more about you I learned that there is much more to Ragnar the red. Not only do you demand blood, but you reek of violence and rage that will inspire the people to fight alongside us. You embody strength and a fire that we as a people are lacking. But most of all, you instill fear and our enemies need to fear us. They deserve their skulls crushed in. All of them. And for that to happen, our fighters need to be as vicious as you." He coldly stated, his eyes revealing a fire in him that had been sparked by this conversation.

Ragnar listened to the man, and he couldn't help but feel this man's presence and charisma. Ragnar understood what he was saying and it got him interested and almost happy to fight for him, but Ragnar was also suspicious. Ragnar rarely felt this way and when something changed with Ragnar he noticed and paid attention to it, but this was natural for most people, the charisma making him want to do stuff, but Ragnar wasn't normal.

Once the man was done speaking, Ragnar put his armored hand against his head, his pointer against where his temple would be, his thumb against the bottom of his jaw bone close to the front of his throat, and his middle finger over where his mouth would be in the helmet as he thought about what the man had said his eyes down at the ground. How honest was he going to be with this man? If he was going to join this man, he wasn't stupid enough for Ragnar's secrets and plans to last long. This man might not care about his goals or anything else thing but he needed or wanted Ragnar for this. Maybe there was something there for him, some place he could fit in once again.

Ragnar's eyes in his helmet turned to look back at the man before saying factually You do not want warriors like me, they would be hard to control, a bunch of rabid dogs that at best you could point at a target and let off the leash. You will need men that can follow orders and listen to them, warriors like me will not do that. If you are serious about this then I have something I will tell you, something that I am sure is already in the rumors but hasn't been confirmed.

Ragnar would wait a moment, letting the man give him a signal that he was ready to hear it but if what he heard, he might not be ready for it and he might try something stupid and if he does.... Ragnar would have to put in him the ground. I am a follower of Zalambur, I am attempting to bring back the Church of Zalambur into the world. The issue with most followers of Zalambur is that they simply slaughter and kill without alot of thoughts or long term strategy of gathering as many sacrifices as possible. The man that I murdered as a 'champion', well as much of a champion as there is now a days, of Shedayya. I need to gain his favor before I can bring about the church to it's full glory again and killing the rivals champions is a great way to do that.

Because of my current goals, joining with your merry band, at this point looking like a Guild isn't something I will agree too instantly. I will have to look around and see what other offers there are for my services, but that doesn't mean I can't help complete your goals as required.

Ragnar stood up from his stump, raising back to his full height before walking directly up to Khalfani. Ragnar's hand was on his hammer at this point, as he knew that if this didn't go well, this man might try to stop him, and he wasn't about to have anyone stop him on his goals. " If this is acceptable to you, then we can have a more serious talk here or elsewhere, about what you specifically need from me and how to best complete your goals. Agreed? Ragnar held out his left hand at this moment towards the man, offering him a sign of agreement and understanding, something Ragnar rarely gave out but maybe the two years of isolation has made him soft or maybe it made him more able to see a good chance as it happens.

#13Khalfani †

Khalfani †
Khalfani's sun-like eyes followed Ragnar. They studied him intensively. Every move Ragnar made revealed more about himself, making him a more interesting entity with every passing moment. Here was this muscly man with a taste from blood and war, a simple outlook but a complex mind. Was this what insanity looked like? Khalfani enjoyed his company nonetheless. He was different and he wasn't trying to pretend like he wasn't. He lived in a world that belonged to him, much like Khalfani. Now imagine if they shared that world. All that they could accomplish and learn as they grew intertwined like siamese twins.

Perhaps... Ragnar just needed...something else. The Dragon Slayer listened to Ragnar, nodding every so-often at what he was saying to make it clear that he indeed was active in this conversation. As Ragnar went on, he entrusted the panther with information about his goal. He was a follower of Zalambur, a god, he presumed, and the man he killed was the champion of another.

All in all, Ragnar seemed to have decline Khal's offer- at least at this moment. His goals were clear and he assumed that his personal goals and the goals of Paradise Dawn wouldn't align. It was an observation for sure, but whether that was true or not was fully up to the commander, Khalfani. To be fair, however, Ragnar had known little about Khalfani, his goals and all that encompassed Paradise. So it made sense for him to decline right now. In fact, it was a safe move. How could one sign up to partake in something when they knew nothing about who was involved? Yet still, it was a golden opportunity for a multitude of reasons and Khalfani was indeed persistent. Mix the two together and you have something that works for everyone.

Ragnar the Red then stood from his stump and approached the Slayer. If Khalfani wanted to, he could defend himself in the case that Ragnar had become a threat. The distance was enough for him to dodge, weave, attack, maim, kill- do anything necessary to protect himself. He was also just confident that Ragnar couldn't harm him in any case. For a moment there was silence.

Then, the rogue prince spoke plainly. "I see..." he'd began as he extended his hand and took Ragnars. "I guess it can't be helped." he smiled, unwilling to beg. After a moment of gripping Ragnar's hand, he'd let go. "Anyway," he began. "I agree. If we could help each other in other ways, then let's figure it out. For now, I take my leave. We'll talk soon, Ragnar the Red. I know where to find you, you're hard to miss." He said before turning around If Ragnar had done nothing else and taking his leave. When the time was right, Ragnar would come to him. Hopefully by then the Black Panther hadn't found another to fill the role.
