Kazimir stepped out into the open air of the wilds around Stella. The country had been in turmoil of late, but he largely had avoided any of the political strife. It wasn't in his country nor his homeland, and he had the urge to sit back more in recent years. Or at least he had become less nosey about things.

The mage sat in the breeze that ruffled the wildflowers and tickled the ends of his robes. The city was beneath the hilltop and across the plains. A beautiful sight and he hoped it would find more peace soon. The mage held out his hand and formed the wind within it. In the other, he formed a swirl of darkness. It trickled over his palm and dripped onto the ground, darkening the blooming flowers. He had yet to really talk to anyone about the strange turn of events dive deeper into it. He spun his palm over and let the magic vanish from his hands.

"What's next," he thought and sat back. he had a family on the way now, A guild to tend to and a clan to remake. "Seems like I have some long nights ahead of me," His back leaned on a tree as the thoughts swirled in his mind, unsure of where he was going to start but he knew it would all work out one way or another.

His ears perked up as footsteps plodded up the long trail behind him. He cast dark magic to create a shadow that lingered behind him. A trick to make up for one of the vampiric downsides.

"Who's there," he called out and peered around the tree. A group of armored men approached with weapons at their sides.

"Are you Kazimir?" The man in front asked with a demanding tone.

"Did you hear there is a wizard saint here," an armored man spoke. His head was held low and nuzzled next to the ear of another. Their eyes shifted side to side.

"yeah, we can make some good bank if we mess with him," the second man responded. They got up from their tables and four more men stood up one by one and followed them out. Jin knew this had to be bad news, and just when he thought this country was going to calm down for a second. Now they are hunting saints. The light mage stood up and followed the men out of town. He dotted into small merchants and stalls as the group looked back to see if they were being followed. Jin kept his distance all the way out of the town and up a small hill.

He dropped into the bushes as the group looked back once more. The paladin crouched and hugged the tree line for cover as he skulked up the hill on the heels of the group. He pressed against a tree and lowered himself. One hand reached for his spear as he heard them ask what the silent man's name was. Things were going to turn bad fast.

"Yes. I am," the wind mage replied and stood up to face the newcomers. He had a bad feeling in his gut about their arrival. The group grinned and slowly reached for their weapons. "Is that necessary? " Kaz asked.

The group responded with silence as they drew swords. With a heavy sigh, Kaz dashed forward in the blink of an eye. He saw the faint glimmer of the spearman in the bushes but turned his attention back onto one of the thugs. His fist slammed into the man's gut and sent him rolling backward. His head smashed against a tree and the sword he was holding dropped limply to his side. His eyes glazed over. His chest bobbed up and down with shallow unconscious breathing. Backdraft wafted by kazimir and blew his clothing. The rest of the thugs spun around, not fast enough to see what had happened. The wind mage leered over his shoulder at them.

"Are you done? I was enjoying the peace and quite," he remarked. The group drew swords with shaky knees and aimed them at the wind mage. Kazimir stepped forward, with his hand reaching to his side, only to find air. He forget that he had given away his staff. It was more comfort than it was worth.
