Kannon
Back in Baska again, Kannon was ready to get to work. He enjoyed the north, but it was devoid of jobs which was an issue for the daemon. With little opportunities to pursue in Orchidia he found himself in the west once more. Not that he didn’t enjoy being back. In fact, he missed the bustling metropolis and its temperate weather. Before Kannon could enjoy Baska and its bounties, he needed to undertake a quest. It wouldn’t be too much of a challenge to find because he had already made several contacts before he left. The first person he thought of was Cain. The strange necromancer interested him, and he enjoyed working for the man. Remembering where the old necromancer lived Kannon traveled to Cain’s home. When he arrived, Cain seemed surprised, but glad to see him. After a brief chat he reintroduced the daemon to his comrade and Kannon’s former employer. It appeared that the client needed Kannon’s assistance once more.  Once again, the client required his help in sabotaging more adventures. Unlike the last group this party was strong but stupid. This next trial would be a bit more demanding in that he needed Kannon to murder them from the shadows.

Initially, he was uncertain as to what all was expected of him until the client explained. He needed to lure them through a dungeon laced with traps. He was to pick off the party one by one with the traps at his disposal. The dungeon itself was designed in such a way that taking them out would be rather easy, but it was up to Kannon to maintain his secrecy. Kannon initially thought it would be better to just kill them outright, but he was discouraged from doing so. They were all powerful and fighting them was a risky proposition. He might have been a burgeoning summoner, but even he had to pause at the idea of fighting four adventurers. After accepting his mission, the summoner was told that his quest was to begin the next day. With the rising sun came a new day, once again Kannon had a job to take care of. He was excited to take on the next day as usual, but he was tired of the small jobs. This would be the first day that he’d take on a truly big job. Kannon was finally going to get a sizable reward for his hard work.

Time in north had taught him to be more ambitious than he already was. He hungrily ate through any challenge he came across. He was a confident man, and that whatever job he took he’d succeed at it. A proud man he shared none of the nervousness that afflicted his contemporaries. He would just do as requested of him and be done with it. Whatever this task entailed he was more than ready to confront it head on and did so with gusto. As for Cain, part of him found a strange kinship in the man. Largely because they both possessed a gift for necromancy. Perhaps the old mage might one day impart some knowledge to him, he hoped anyway. But first Kannon opted to start the day with a balanced breakfast. For the time being he’d been staying at a local inn, which provided all the meals he needed. The food was rather basic, especially the breakfast, which consisted of eggs, toast, and bacon. It wasn’t a terrible meal, but it wasn’t great either. It was just enough to leave him full for the day. As part of his daily routine Kannon started a shower as soon as he finished eating.

After breakfast Kannon wasted zero time in leaving for his mission. He was nothing if not punctual. Even as he crossed paved roads and darted through dark alleys the wizard walked with purpose. Certain this job would begin and end like all of them did with him getting a little bit richer. Even though he’d only been in the city for a few days he knew the way to his client well enough. Of course, it wasn’t hard navigating when you had a map and a good sense of direction. When he’d arrived, an old man greeted him. The client directed him to where the raiding party was assembling and instructed him to join them. The raiders were already in the process of organizing their party, so he didn’t have much time left. After introducing himself the party hesitantly allowed him in. When they arrived in the tomb the leader of the troupe split the party in twain with two members each exploring the tomb. Even the summoner was convinced of their strength, and knew he’d have to be stealthy. Thinking quickly, he faked an injury and stated that he’d wait behind. Not wanting to waste anytime the foursome went their separate ways.

After the groups vanished from view, he sprung to action. Recalling the instructions from his client he access a secret passage in the dungeon. The first pair were within the vicinity of the first trap. It was a simple trapped floor that would fall away if someone tried to walk on it. When they were separated, he leapt from a secret compartment and pushed one of the adventurers on the hollow floor causing it to collapse. After one adventurer was disposed of Kannon took the chance to kill off the man’s partner. He looked for the other man who wasn’t too far away but had stumbled onto another trap. This trap was an iron maiden and looked as if it would be a painful way to die. Kannon was lucky that the man seemed to be inspecting the device, which gave him the opportunity to push the man into the trap. With two men dead he moved onto the final two adventurers. Using the secret passageway he navigated his way over to the other side of the tomb. Like the previous trap this one was easy enough to trigger. The two adventurers were standing beneath rocks held in place, that if activated would crush whoever was below. And of course he did just that killing both of the men at the same time. After his work was done he met up with the client’s maid to receive his reward.
