Having shown skills at hunting things, it was only natural that her next task would be something similar. Perhaps it was the cat ears and tail, or the fact that she didn't go anywhere with two weapons strapped to her side. Anyone with a brain would assume that she was combat inclined, and would think even more so if she ever opened her mouth to butcher their language. Luckily, her next job wouldn't have her interacting with people, rather animals instead.

See, Hildegard and her people have been a real pain in Reiner's side. Expected when she had over triple the support than the Bastard did. In any case, he had shown no signs of backing out any time soon and wanted to take at least one thorn out from his side. Though there was another competitor, he was actually on good terms with them and didn't want to soil their relationship with underhanded politics. And, because politics are complicated and rarely ever make sense, the next logical step to him was to get Hanabi out there and hinder his opponent by slaughtering animals. The animals have the opportunity to fight back, but first Hanabi would have to hunt them down.

The prey for the day was a type of cat native to Bosco. They called it... something. Honestly, Hanabi had forgotten between the time it took her to travel from the city out to the mountains. She had hitched a ride with a merchant that was going out into the country side, playing the "lost child" card while also trying to not bring attention to her blade. It would have been a day and a half's walk without this tactic, which happened to shorten it to a couple of hours. The merchant was nice enough to wake her up to tell her to get off of his wagon rather than just dumping her off on the side of the road. She paid him for his troubles and walked into the forest and began her hunt.

Now, Hanabi doesn't normally partake in hunting since she has had no reason to. When she was living with her parents food was just brought to the table no questions asked so she never had to actually go out in the wild and hunt down a meal. Luckily, she wasn't going into this blind. After asking a couple of question in town, she started to learn a few things about what to lure in the beast with. Turns out it's incredibly sensitive to the smell of blood, like a shark on land.
