Marigold was definitely one of the smaller places Zane found himself spending time at, though he found it rather nice because of that. He grew up in Baska after all, so this place reminded him of home in a way. It was the second day since his arrival, and Zane had thought to visit the theater to catch a nice play that him and Beelzebub could kick back and enjoy. Little did Zane know that his plans to simply spectate would not come to fruition, instead being approached by a woman shortly before the show. She was in need of someone to operate the stage lights. Apparently the other guy called in sick at the very last minute, prompting her to have to just ask random-ass people in the crowd to do it for her. After negotiating on the price of his services a little, Zane finally agreed to go ahead and operate the stage lights during the play. He thought that at the very least it would give him a unique angle on the show that was going down, even if deep inside both he and Beelzebub knew the experience was probably going to be visually inferior while watching from behind and above.

This Alice lady taught Zane a little bit about the lacrima lights in the ten minutes they had to setup, and eventually Zane would be thrust into his new job with the bare minimum of info. Taking a deep breath, Zane figured that it couldn't be all that hard. His hands gripped the lacrima light tightly, resisting the urge to just spin it all over the place for the mere purpose of fun. It was also worth noting that Zane had the job of operating the curtain as well, but that was about as simple as simple could be. It really didn't require any further explanation, and Zane managed to operate the curtain rather perfectly throughout the entire show.

It was the stage light that was a bit trickier, especially given Alice's odd instructions. The light was to be focused on her the entire time. Zane did kind of wonder if that was how it was actually supposed to be. Perhaps this Alice woman was simply so egotistical that she didn't want to give a single shred of light to any of her co-stars. While it was true that she was playing the female lead here, Zane admittedly didn't quite like the fact that he had to put it on Alice the entire time, no matter how pretty she was. She was the one paying him though, so Zane just sucked it up and did as she asked for the entirety of the play. Finishing up the show, Zane hopped down from the stagelight, dusting off his hands a little bit. He had to wait a while for Alice to stop showboating around her fans before he could approach her, but once he did the woman kept her end of the bargain and gave Zane his pay. Something told Zane that this wasn't the last he'd see of Alice...
