Tempris

It was a quiet day in Bosco however, Tempris felt cold. This country was familiar but the girl fought to keep any memories buried. She needed to make new memories, ones that were warm with her new life. That was why Tempris was here. That was why she bore this icy air around her.

Tempris wore her best outfit. It was a white dress with a long skirt with alternating white and black layers. She had a gold necklace with the symbol of Illumin around her neck. Over her head was her black veil with a gold cloth over her forehead. She did not wear boots, instead wearing black one inch heels and white stockings. She wanted this day to be special.

This was going to be the day she entered the church. It was nerve racking. She could feel icy hands reaching into her past to pull up frozen memories. The closer she got to the building, the deeper those hands probed. Her arms trembled, forcing her to cease any further attempts on advancing forward. It was too much, she could not get over it. Tempris gritted her teeth and turned around. She was too weak, to fearful of those cold thoughts.

There she stood on the altar with her arms out as the people pray. "Yes! Pray to our Lord and savor, Illumin. How they will shower us with warmth and love," she spoke loudly as the church echoed her preaching. Her eyes closed and tilted her head down while she too prays to the only and only love of her life, the Illumin god. Her fingers entwined and hands pressed against each other while silence soothed the holy church. The people put up their heads one by one as they gazed at her waiting for her word. Her hands lifted while her eyes opened immediately. The beauty of each colorful window was shining rainbow amongst the room to signal Illumin was listening.

"You see! Illumin is listening to everyone as the light is here to warm up our bodies!" She smiles hugely and laughs. Her fingers clench as her body feels hot suddenly. Brunhild's mouth gasps as a puff of hot air escapes. Illumin is surely embracing her body tightly. The pressure against her body was like two strong arms. He truly saw her as their chosen one. Her arms suddenly released against her side as they dangled. Eyes of brassy-gold gazed at all of them. Those who followed her. No one here dared to argue with her and Illumin. The religion was the only one that belonged here.

One by one the humans left. She will make sure none of these beings ill-willed the Illumin religion. After they all left she sighed deeply before slowly going down the small number of stairs. The marble floors shine as they're waxed every night. Brunhild won't allow a mess in any Illumin church while others shall be burned to a crisp. She cat-walked towards the large front door elegantly to leave the Church. As all should have been gone by the time she reached the front she was surprised when she saw a single little girl at her doorstep.

"Are you a fellow Illumin follower, young child?" She questioned in a curious tone. Her pointing finger went against her lip while her eyes looked down at her. Her beautiful plum-colored lips side smirked while she was wondering how to take measures into her own hands. Children can be rather difficult.

Only something broke her out of that cold cycle. A voice, one she not hear before. Tempris turned around sensing a fate altering warm build in her heart. And what she saw was nothing more than a bright warmth. It was a woman the girl had never met but one would have to be crazy not to know the Divine, Brunhild Sachsenwald. Tempris fought her urge to scream. This woman has been fighting to purge the world of sin and heresy for so long. It was one of the few people Tempris looked up to.
"Y-y-yes Ma'am. Illumin has given me everything. I devote my life to enacting his will."

Tempris quickly clasped her hands hoping her gratitude would reach god. "But Ma'am, you are the Divine herself, Brunhild Sachsenwald. It is nothing short of a miracle to be able to stand in front of you today." Tempris bowed her head, trying to remain composed in front of one of potential heirs of Bosco. The very woman Tempris was fighting to help enable the thrown. "Great Divine, I wish to aid you in your endeavors. You were rightfully chosen by Illumin to rule Bosco. Please allow me to continue to purge the sin off your land." Tempris's smile creeped over her face as the fire in her heart turned into an inferno. This was it, a moment and a memory to fight that icy hand in her head.

She kept her calm position while gazing at the one who followed the same religion. They seemed to personally be thrilled to meet her which made her feel quite happy. Perhaps this child could be her puppet to bring out the heathens that betrayed her god. The child seemed persistent to aid her and the will of Illumin. Surely a child such as herself can become useful to her and the holy one. The wind felt perfect for a walk around as they praised the one being they both seemed to love. "Walk with me, child," she lifted up one hand with her pointing finger curling for her to follow.

Her body turned away from the child and started to walk. She had some patience for those that followed Illumin, this child will be the example. Her left arm rested under her bosoms as her right was dangling against her curvacious side. Her blue hair ticked against her shoulder blades as the wind was calm but breezy enough to feel the coolness mixing with the warmth of the sun. "Tell me about yourself, child. Tell me how you became a follower," her mind went towards the words the little girl spoke about earlier. Her smile went from one cheek as she side smirked satisfied, "Aiding you shall do as you will release the warmth of our Illumin to the people who deny and sin," Brunhild responded and deep sighed while in thought. Someday everyone will follow or die in the holy flames that will devour their soul till they are no more.

"Y-yes Ma'am" Tempris lifted her head with eyes beaming with hope and passion. She was acknowledge and not ignored like what the Rune Knights or other people did. The woman wanted her around. She was not alone. The cold feeling vanished. Things were changing. Illumin had a plan for her. It took everything for the girl to not scream. However, she did allow herself to smile just a little. Such a thing should be allowed around a powerful entity.

"About myself. I." The girl paused. The could hand reached down her brain and grabbed onto her heart. Those memories, the cold memories. She didn't want to accept them. She couldn't. It was weakness, a time where she was kept away from Illumin's love. However she needed to say something. Tempris clenched her fist. "I-Illumin gave me... He saved me from sin... He game me freedom. So I seek to give others the same freedom."

Tempris's smile melted as she was forced to fight through the memories. She felt cold. She found it hard to look pass her feet. She wanted to cry but she held it in. She wanted to look strong not helpless. There was some hope though. The Divine's words reminded Tempris of her strength, her duty. With faith, she would never have to feel cold again. "Yes Great Divine. I knew someone like you would understand me, my purpose. Its as Illumin wills." The woman's words were like the a fire, fighting off the deathly chill of winter. Empowered Tempris sought to experience more of her power. "Great Divine. May I ask a question." If the woman allowed it, Tempris would continue. "What inspired to become the woman you are now. Did you ever feel alone in your beliefs?"

So the girl was saved from Sin, huh? Her eyes pierced at the girl's as she still has yet to introduce herself. Are they spy with a convincing story? She could be from that annoying brat Hildegard's team in terms of support. The goody Cassia was an option of where this girl belonged to as well. She flipped her medium-cut blue hair and gave a smirk, "No one out of my siblings believes in Illumin so I was the Blacksheep out of them.". Her eyes gazed at the clear sky with the beautiful light from the sun shining towards her. "Illumin keeps be company so I am never alone as they will always be within you as long as you keep them in your thoughts and heart," Brundhild kept on a calm and peaceful posture as they walked.

"I first found Illumin when I was a little girl. He saved me from some terrible people while no one else did. The light was so bright I couldn't see them physically, but their figure was there and the help existed." She explained and continued on, "It's why those who mock Illumin will meet their demise. Illumin deserves better than that." She spoke with determination and preached her truths. She felt like lying was useless. Even if it did not become true, she believed it was true due to her experiences. She will make people believe in Illumin if she must, if she had to shove it down their throats or destroy them then she will.

"So child, what is your name?"

So the Divine had no one to support her believes except for Illumin. Tempris allowed a cold hand to pull up one small moment with her family. Her parents were believers but they... She could feel the cold reaching too far in her heart to continue on with the thought. In the end, she was alone with only Illumin to guide her. Though, she never thought that Illumin was always with her. So maybe she wasn't alone like she thought. "Keep them in my heart..." She repeated reaching for her chest before smiling. The words were so warm, she would never forget them.

When the Divine spoke of her childhood, Tempris was astonished. To think the woman had a similar story as hers. There was no doubt about it. Brunhild was the right choice. No, she was the only choice. Tempris clasped her hands, "Misguided souls, I pray that they may find truth in the flames. May his warmth save them from themselves." She was more inspired than ever to save the souls on this planet. Every last one of them would be sent to Illumin in a baptism of fire.

Then the Divine asked the girl her name. Tempris's eyes glowed. The woman wanted to know her name. It took Tempris a second to queue up an action while holding down her desire to just scream, not that she was a child or would do such childish things. Tempris closed her eyes and cleared her throat.
"I am Tempris, Tempris Ashflare."

Her hand covered her lower lip as she laughed, "Fufufu.~ Your last name is very fitting, Young Tempris," she spoke and let her hand wrap under her bosoms. She eyed the area to see if there were any heathens that dared to talk about Illumin in a venomous way. As they walked peacefully a woman walked by and cursties, "Afternoon, Divine," the woman politely spoke. Her voice was sickeningly sweet as she was filled with pureness. "Yes, afternoon. I hope you have a blessed day," Brunhild calmly spoke. Her icy blue eyes followed the woman's trail as she walked off.

"You see Tempris, like that woman we accept people who do not follow Illumin. Pure, innocent and yet does not spit venom upon Illumin," she chuckled as she thought of it, "But we do however burn and destroy those who filth our lovely god. No Mercy,~" she simply put it at the end. She kept her straight posture as they walked towards a cafe. The maid bowed to her and gazed up in surprise. "Y-you and a guest, Divine?", she was anxious for sure, the Divine could tell. Even if she was truly not the world-known divine, she was the icon around here for Illumin. People knew her as such as much as people knew her wrath if anyone dared to speak negatively towards her or those she instructed in the name of God. Brunhild nodded and quickly the maid offered them to sit outside or inside. Her own icy blue eyes gazed towards Tempris as a signal for them to choose as she did not care.

"Thank you Divine. Its an blessing to hear such praise." Tempris bowed her head but she couldn't stop smiling. She never been complimenting on her name before, but she also never really be so close to other people before either nor let them get close to her. It was a nice feeling to share a common interest after all and to feel safe about once on practice. Still, she did wonder what it would be like to be this open with other people. Would she really be able to trust those who were not devoted to Illumin such as herself.

After a woman greeted the Divine, Tempris wondered the meaning behind her words. To accept those who lacked faith, the the correct faith. Tempris herself was not personally interested in converting others or attacking other faiths but she did feel like those people were suffering. To only burn those who spoke ill of Illumin, would be to just reward the worst of the sinners. Tempris wanted everyone to be free from their sin, freed from their suffering just like she was. Only then would Illumin recognize her. For now, Tempris would just nod and smile.
"Yes Divine. Those who are ignorant can only be educated through the truth, through the flames." Despite her thoughts, just the idea of helping others through fire was just too satisfying.

When they arrived at their location at a café, Tempris was given the honor of deciding where they would sit. The girl was stunned with excitement and a little bit of anxiousness. What was the right choice. A woman of her stature would surely not like eating side right? Or maybe it was okay since it was warm. Though, was that only her with that opinion. Tempris clasp her hand only to finally decide.
"Inside," she said softly, "At a window." It was the best of both worlds.

When they got inside and sat down, Tempris sought bring up an earlier conversation. "Divine... in a world filled with sin and sacrilege, is it okay to let those ignorant of their misery and suffering continue to walk the world in pain blind? Poor souls across the land continue to live tortured lives with no way out. I can feel my heart freeze when I think about it."

The little child decided to pick as it was allowed by herself truly. Her slanted golden eyes struck towards the spot as the guide walked them through the pathway of their seats and table. It was a good enough area if any as she was able to be next to the sunlight that beamed through the clean windows. Today was a beautiful day so to have the windows blinded and shut would be a sin. Once they sat they were given menus and asked about their drinks. She was going to get the obvious choice, but not much. "I'll have a glass of wine," as it was the Fruit Vines of the Gods.

Ephesians 5:18: "Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery."

"I'll also add a glass of water with a lemon in it,", she lastly spoke before looking into the menu. There were so many choices that this fruitful woman could pick from. If her sister, Cassia was here she will advise to probably pick something with chicken in it. Her other brother will advise steak or some red meat which was too much for her. She placed her knuckle against her bottom lip as her mind was thinking further into food. Her eyes flicked towards Tempris who questioned about a few silly things. "Fufufu~, although death is an escape of reality, pain, and suffering. With most, it is like the darkened woods. They will feel despair, fear as they walk through the darkness, but if you reveal a light for them, they will follow that path instead.", she sees their drinks appear as she started to feel thirst. Slowly, she ringed her finger around the stem to brush the rim against her lips. Once she took her sip she lends it down against the white-sheeted table and eyes back at Tempris. Her cheek went against her hand as her elbow was on the table itself. "Seeing potential in people is better than giving up on all as Illumin believes in everyone. Unless they resist to a severe degree of course... Then they cannot be helped," she spoke in her sweet and cool-toned voice.

"To that degree then it is better to make them feel the heat and embrace of our Lord and savor," she last spoke.

The Divine did not object to Tempris's choice of seating, which made Tempris feel slightly better about it. As they sat down, the warm sun showered them both in a beam of light which was warmer than just standing outside. Though that could just be because it was a little cooler inside. Few people understand the truth of the cold and the glory of being warm. A shame really but there was nothing that could be done about it now.

A waiter came cover requesting their drinks. Tempris would order her signature drink of a warm milk. The Divine however requested a wine and a glass of water. Afterwards, the Divine would answer Tempris's question. She spoke weirdly. "Death..." she repeated before realizing the trap her mind was trying to play on her. Her face would begin to lose color as the hands creeped even closer to her thoughts. Luckily for her, their drinks would arrive before anything could fully develop on the topic.

It was her first time seeing the drink in a really long time... at least while knowing what it was. She could feel the cold crawling hands ready to snatch away the happiness that the woman provided her so Tempris did her best to look away from the drink and began sipping on hers. It was here that the Divine finished her answer to Tempris. She understood the idea of letting the useful people stay a bit longer but she was not as forgiving as the Divine. Maybe this was what made her who she was. Tempris put her glass down for a moment and readied herself to speak. However nothing would come out.

Tempris thought about if what she was doing was the same as giving up on them. Trapped in though, she managed to break out of lack of speech. "He is merciful and forgiving. I thought, it would be best to let him help those unfortunate souls... People... once they taste sin... when their souls become accustom to it..." Tempris hands started to tremble so she placed both her hands on her cup in an attempt to hid it, "They will do anything to keep it, to stay suffering. They will make others suffer. How do you find the strength to see hope in them... I... I feel, I can only." Tempris would break a hand away from her cup to grab her sword... but the empty air only reminded her that she didn't have it at the time.
"Oh... seems I left my sword." Tempris forced a giggle before smiling at her cup.

Brunhild gazed at the girl with an eyebrow, raising in question. She seemed confused about her ways of Illumin, but it is better to start someday than to never. She went to ring the stem of her wine glass to take a sip as it was a sin to chug it down. It was better to savor and slowly drink than to be devoured into negativity and despair. "Suffer in what way my child?", she questioned and then tilted her head, "If is the other person's choice to be around the person doing sin then it is their own doing to stay around. The 'others' in this can always leave. It may be hard, but it is better to leave the sinful behind than the be devoured by someone else's darkness and sin," she simply explained and gazed out the window.

"The sun, our Illumin cannot save those who let themselves be chained with the negative and sinful acts and feelings - even if it is from someone else in the first place." She spoke in her smokey and breathy accent as she then saw the food coming. Something Tempris has said made her wonder the importance, "Tell me about your sword, young one.". Her sun-like eyes looked at the girl with interest as she wondered if it was like her Sun weapon. She loved her weapon dearly as if it was her child. The Sun gifted her it as a sign that Illumin will listen and be there with her as long as she believes in them. They were always there for her, unlike her cursed siblings. Damn them, damn them to the deepest part - mostly Hildegard. Her hand gripped onto her glass tightly for a second as she thought of her. How she annoyed her so.

Tempris pulled her glass to her lips. She wouldn't stop drinking till the Divine spoke again. Her words showed the woman's ignorance to the things people due. The horrors which haunt her with cold feelings. "Suffer i-in..." Tempris couldn't describe it. Her eyes bounced around to look for an answer only to end up on her hand. It was there she found her answer. "Here... they suffer here. And. and... then the world becomes cold. I..." Her voice choked as if catching the mistake she was going to make. She could not give the key to the cold. She wouldn't. When the divine mentioned that Illumin could not save everyone. Tempris spoke up "Then I will..."

Tempris could feel her purpose burn inside warding off the cold. It was the only thing that kept her moving forward. Her sword however, was the promise. The key to unlocking any heart trapped within sin. But that did not matter now. What mattered was the Divines curiosity.

"My sword. Its..." Tempris for the first time her memory refused to cooperate. "It's my pack. It's been with me... since I can remember... I think. I... I saw it. In the fire. In his fire. Without it. Without him. I would still be there." Tempris took a deep breath, as memories she could remembered started to return. She turned to the divine, focusing only on her weapon. "Its just a normal sword. But when I hold it, Illumin blesses it with his power and allows me to purge the sin from the souls of heretics." Tempris smiled happy to be reminded once more of her mission. "With his support, I know I can save everyone."
