This was Noels second day in Myras City. Renowned for its remarkable attribute to generate jewels. As such, his motif to thrive was elevated. Which wasn't unusual for the man; he liked swimming in riches - without spending a single penny on worthless stuff. Stingy as some may have called him. A tip in the hotel bar of the tavern he stayed at (which was sponsored by Blue Pegasus); apparently a merchant company had been trying to broker relations with investors downtown. But according to the source of the barman, the investors had turned down the one in a million idea due to a poor perception of the company. It smelled of opportunity.

To Noel, it meant that he could cultivate a relation between this company an a potential investor and profit just by putting the connection together. It sounded too easy. He wasn't exactly searching for a challenge, but that kind of adventure was more expansive in the administrative side; something he cared little for. As a matter of fact, he much desired to rather his hands to brawl and conquer - gain riches through that way. But experience has dictated that doing this was more likely going to give him a bounty - jail wasn't a place he was too keen on returning. So maybe the mundane and otherwise rather boring tip given by the bartender was the way to go? It'd lead to a more peaceful life, a more relaxed atmosphere at night, knowing he was safe from bandits and highway men looking to make a dime on his name. Those worries certainly had started to fade as of late; although the 'dark' side of Fiore was one he alienated from himself a long time ago. He couldn't recall the last interaction with the evil and wicked he's had. It had been some time.

Since being released from prison initially there were none that he could consider as evil. Though there was a peculiar skeleton he met - he seemed to have rather offensive intentions. Noel started to somewhat drift off at the bar, having many loose strings of thoughts without being able to string them together. As old men do. He snapped out of it when the bartender poured the beverage of the next patron, the clinking of ice triggered him to blink - at the same time escaping the thoughts. He was going to head downtown to find the merchant company with the grand idea, and then try to find investors who didn't care for who their investment went to - as long as it was profitable. As long as nobody was hurt, he reckoned he would be paid fully; and no bounty was to follow and tarnish his name. Noel left most of his armor at the hotel, only having his dagger on his hip among some other apparel including his ring, necklace and stonerang. The handy pebble proved its value in gold in time and time again.

He knew little of the streets of this silver town; navigating through landmarks and asking civilians if they could help him was the way to go. He'd sit on his cherished Mustang, who he led the way of through his legs and hands. His horse and he have grown quite a bond, their attachment to each other was established. Especially whenever Jet, his companion, gets blasted to pieces while Mustang doesn't lose a hair - that's when their bond grows stronger. Noel would arguably take a hit for his horse if he could be sure that it wouldn't cost him the battle. You don't touch a mans horse like that. It went against his own bushido code; exceptions applied of course - such as when the other person uses their car as a weapon.

Riding deeper into town, Noel began to appreciate the more cultivated architecture that appeared as he rode into the thick of the populace. Once close to the city center, he'd park his Mustang at a nearby horse car park. There was a strict no riding zone within the center; as to avoid the massive amount of dung piles all around lovely neat little places. While arriving at the car park, he'd hand over his Mustang to the valet who he paid a few jewels to park his car in nicely. As soon as he set out on foot, people began to vaguely recognize him as soon as they made eye contact. This kept him from looking out into the open but rather somewhat off into a distance towards the ground. Made him appear real shy - truthfully he was quite extroverted, but the attention garnished triggered his former paranoia. It wasn't always like this for the Blue Pegasi mage. Once he was in the deep core of the town; he sought out what could like a guide - someone who could show him the streets. While he was thinking of a strategy, a large group of people started to move through the center of the square all kinds of buildings were attached to.

One key person at the center of this movement stood out to Noel. He'd overhear a conversation starting to the left of him, someone identified him as the mayor of the town. Noel arched his brow a little and started to cut into the crowd (not with a knife, but just forcing his own body into the crowd through non-violent means) to try and attempt to talk to the mayor. He would like to pick his brain about a topic. After swathing through the large mass he finally got to the mayor, and asked if he and the mayor could talk. The secretary of the mayor declined, but could set up an appointment so a spokesman and Noel could talk instead. Noel agreed to this idea, and said he'd drop by the government building later that day.

Noel dispersed back into the crowd and let the mayor do his mayoral duties. Who was he to interrupt him from doing his job anyway. It wasn't like he worked for the people. But fairly enough, he wasn't their people - though he did want to be considered as such. But alas, an appointment with a spokesman was fine. Maybe he could pitch an idea to this person and achieve his goals in the long term this way. It sounded feasible enough, so he went down to city hall later that day and got in contact with the secretary who set up the appointment. They booked a conference room for the both of them - Noel passed their background check and came back as a legitimate source after all.

After being seated, Noel enjoyed their complimentary sandwiches and tea up to his hearts content - until the tray had been emptied, and the so called ambassador of Myras had joined the meeting. Business as usual for Noel. While the ambassador took a seat, Noel begun to pitch an expansive idea. A fund for innovation. So that companies who actually innovated, and engineer solutions would be more profitable than solely relying on trade - which was the main income of this town. The ambassador was quite amused by the idea, as Noel was correct on his assumption of the main income of Myras. Their export of silver was off the charts. Noel portrayed a world where that silver could be changed artistically and therefor they would receive an income based on actual production of goods. All that was required was a subsidy from the local government. The ambassador entertained the idea, and allowed Noel to compose a budget and a guideline to establish this. Noel used some of the budget to hire a few city counsel servants to do the administrative work and make procedures to apply for the innovation subsidy.

So up next was Noels search in companies that were currently not doing well on their trading - perhaps the goods they previously sold had an uptick in offer instead of demand, eliminating their product since theres too much on the market. A saturated market is usually bad for trade. That was certainly the case for Myras, where silver dominated the export. Merchant companies were the prime example of this. In an afternoons worth of work, and a lot of elbow grease - Noel managed to group three different failing merchant groups who were interested in changing from selling silver to using it to create things out of the silver. Like cutlery, and furniture. The aristocrats had to be convinced that this new equipment was superior. Labeling as 'innovated' was going to help in this goal - as well as make bigger room for manufacturing by opening up more investments. So Noel went into the richer districts. The founding fathers of Myras - who made the city thrive on its natural silver. Since setting up the various mines, they haven't achieved much. Noel wanted to change this. Have the aristocrats and the working class make a win together. Using his reputation and renown as a mage, he made a few connections by wandering through their district and going to the playgrounds and talk to the rich parents.

Noel hand picked from the group of merchants a most suitable candidate, and made that group bring out a representative who formed a quasi union with the other groups to be able to convincingly set up shop and manufacture new items. One of the groups had a large working space, their empty warehouse. It was cleaned out and supply lines were setup. A new supply chain manager was hired as well as a few local artists to create the first batch of concepts. With a batch of concepts, Noel once again headed into the same rich district to find the same aristocrats who he told they could be involved.

By making it seem exclusive, the aristocrats were very interested. Noel truly relied upon his good reputation to accomplish this mission. Throughout the afternoon he was seen rushing through the wealthy districts with several suitcases. A lot of hush hush went about each time Noel was seen in one of these districts. The black marked suitcases especially called for attention. During his visit to the next aristocrats house he presented the elegant suitcases. In one, he revealed fine crafted cutlery. Precious other minerals such as emeralds and gems were used for their decoration. It truly represented the combined elbow grease of the community coming together to spin up something new. This is what they spun up, a masterfully crafted set of cutlery. Noel made the rich gentleman compare it to his current cutlery - which was dated, made from wood.

Noel explained that this wasn't going to be a one time deal, they wanted to make a lot of these. Once the idea was pitched, and the concept was sold - the aristocrat began to spread the word in his community. Of which thriving members started being interested as well. After the first few batches of cutlery were made, the items started to circulate within the community of the elite in Myras. Dinner party with the boss, the wife can happily show off the new cutlery; the boss becomes interested and wants one too. The customer in this case is satisfied. The only downside was the durability, which Noel painted as an advantage. Customers could subscribe to a service in which they can make use of a newly designed set for a month. This subscription was quite expensive, as the models described were being concepted and very exclusive. This reputation was bound to increase, the manufactory became esteemed within the rich community, eventually introducing a middle class set which came to be less qualitative was inevitable.

This did mean a long term of profit, and with the innovation bond going majorly towards this business; Noel was operating in gray business. Morally speaking, in a court of law he could argue that these companies truly did innovate because they brought out new goods within communities that was previously deprived of these things. This venture began to thrive, and the representative that Noel once arranged a meeting for was very thankful of Noels part in this. Very thankful, one might even call generous. While down in the workshops of the new manufacturing in Myras - Jet spent some time down in the caves of the silver mines and found a valuable emerald; one Noel could pawn later on. Noel was gifted a new set of designed cutlery made by the now famous Lipner Co. An union made it possible for workers to safely rent and buy homes. Their contracts with the union proved financial stability to banks. This in the long term meant growth for these districts. The aristrocrats were most likely exporting the manufactured goods. That was a good thing.

The old mage explained to the representative of Lipner Co that this was a good thing; as soon as they developed customers that relied on bulk import, they could eventually raise their prices. Maybe even cut them out as middlemen and start picking up customer relation agents. Go wide as an organization and thrive unilaterally. Of course this business plan relied on multiple parties delivering on their promises. Noel was gifted a large bag of money for his assistance in the manner, as it brought many split up communities together to thrive as a collective instead of suffering as isolationists. All it took was some bonding within the community to prioritize on what was needed versus the short term gain. Noel took his reward with honor and left the manufactory to move back to the hotel.

He'd pick up Mustang from the valet and move back to the hotel with a large bag of jewels sitting snug in his backpack, overshadowed by a large emerald Jet found in the mines this was going to prove to be quite the bountiful day. The boon from this quest was going to set him up for future developments. Though as of late, one strange thing had become more apparent - his temperament during nights had started to shift. Sure with this job out of the way, the part of his brain was itched, his energy got seeped by doing these mundane tasks day in and out; although one could argue that he did these mundane tasks in order to forget about what was happening to him. His heightened sense of smelling, more easily seeing in the night among various other things. Maybe it was the superhuman status he was eventually going to achieve that was starting to kick in?

He couldn't tell. Sitting atop Mustang, the male swiftly rode out of the crowds from the center of Myras. It was quite a lovely town. With the contacts he managed to acquire today, he was convinced he could continue expanding the business through another day. There were still improvements to be made, he reckoned. The long term strategy was going to pay off - and as soon as they got a larger capital, he could inspire them with new strategies to continue developing and thriving as a company. It was fine for now, the workers had homes and steady jobs that weren't going to change massively in the upcoming few months. Noel washed his hands at the hotel sink, and loaded the new riches he acquired into his room. It was quite heavy. Noel added a page in his diary about today, and headed down to the bar to party with some of his guild members.
