Masami
Finding a village to stay in at last, Masami ventured in Rush Valley, finding a place to stay in. Perhaps it would be an inn, or maybe a Light Guild that will let him stay for a few nights, or perhaps he finds someone to take him in, all of those seem good enough for a place to stay in. After all, Masami has no choice – he isn't the 'performer prince' he once was in Joya, and nobody but himself will take care of him. He was aware of that, fully aware, painfully, but it wasn't a challenge for him to become a young, independent man. How could he take care of other people if he cannot take care of himself first? His mother will not be as proud if that was the case.

In the afternoon, the sun leaves out warm air in this place, unlike in Myras wherein afternoons appear like dusk due to the weather. Masami found the heat obnoxious, which was why he removed his overcoat and pulled his sleeves up, revealing his bandaged limbs – he might need to change these into new bandages as well, if it had not yet healed. He found it disgusting to imagine how sweat would get absorbed by the fabric, and then suddenly missing the cold air of Myras City. Unfortunately, what had done to them in that city will forever remain in Masami's mind, giving him enough pride not to come back... or was it childishness? Being taught to act like his age, this teenage boy knows no more. With a sigh, he held unto the leather side back while browsing the busy atmosphere, looking for any signs related to inns or clinics, maybe head directly to the quest board. Knowing that the city's guild is located in the air, the thought of looking for a guild in the ground levels had already given up.

Masami
As mentioned earlier, the city had a busy atmosphere. Masami wasn't exactly sure what time it was, but this atmosphere didn't bother him as much as it bothered many people. There was a crowd, and not everybody likes crowds. Fortunately for Masami, this atmosphere is vastly similar to his hometown back in Joya, so there wasn't much unfamiliarity and that it's easy to adapt into. "Oh, excuse me." said he, who slid himself through a group of workers who were standing in the way. See? Not much unfamiliarity, and that it's easy for Masami to... "Hey, that foreign chick looks kinda cute."

Huh?

Suddenly stiffening the way he walks, Masami's attention was suddenly pulled over. Excuse me? He wanted to audibly say it, or rather directly face those who said such an illegal line. "From Joya, right? What's it called again, menhera?" said the group whose voices were suddenly fading the more distance Masami creates – whatever that term was, it sounded very familiar to Masami. Thus, with a sudden reddening of cheeks, Masami looked back and shouted: "It's not cosplay!" then speed-walked away. Technically, those men thought that Masami was wearing a costume because of those bandages, when truly they were cloth that covered his injuries (and supposedly healing them faster). The men laughed upon seeing Masami dash out, thinking that it was a cute act of humiliation.

What Masami bumped into was another group of men whom just came out of what seemed to be a tavern... a tavern! Masami could stay here for a bit, gratefully! Because his attention was caught by the men just a few seconds ago, Masami couldn't help but slightly eavesdrop on the serious conversation of these aristocratic-looking men, who seems to appear desperate and saddened. Without hiding himself, Masami proceeded on listening more to their conversation.

Masami
Masami found himself wandering through the entrance of Dawncliff Mine; why so sudden? Earlier, Masami eavesdropped enough to listen to men speaking of such things regards looking for someone who could help them out, and that they will reward them for their efforts. Yes, that one word stylized in italic, that single word made Masami rush in front of them – he may or may not have used magic for that sudden dash, too. Apparently, Masami volunteered to take the request, even if the requestee hasn't said anything specific about it. A few minutes after, Masami was given some sort of large business card that lists what he has to do, and it has something to do with the mines.

It was already expected that the miners wouldn't easily let strangers in, let alone a foreigner. Masami simply got the job just because he was identified as an A-Rank, setting their high hopes on him. 'I wasn't even aware that I had already reached such rank.' said Masami, not remembering being registered as an A-Rank mage... at all. Was it because people had witnessed the things he did in Myras City, and that reputation led him to a path like so?

"Would you mind being given a forth of my pay if you let me in?" simply asked Masami with smugness, bribing the guard in front of him. Miners are usually into money so... of course, they nodded, letting the Joyan performer in. "Thank you! I won't take long." said he, whom entered the mine, really do hoping that he won't take long, because he has never entered a mine before. Not sure how dangerous this could be, Masami had his fingertips touching the walls of the mine as he enters, the atmosphere becoming darker and darker. When he lit a fire from one of his fingers, he wasn't sure what to do next.

Masami
Three paths to choose from, and Masami isn't sure if he'll be able to get back out. Considering that this is an Earthly place, Masami knew that he can't just simply bust out if ever he got stuck inside. Perhaps soundproof, too, and that his screams of help will not be heard. 'These don't seem good enough.' thought Masami, referring to the walls of the mining place, slightly underwhelmed by lack of coziness in this workplace. Masami took the second route, thus walking in a straight line as before so that he wouldn't lose his track. This single light of fire was obviously not enough to light up everything, and it was getting harder for Masami to see and to breathe in this space. 'This part seems unused?' thought Masami after stopping in one place, finding a spot in the mines that seemed greatly unused compared to the other walls. This was questionable, and easily comparable to finding a single black dot on a white paper. The wall Masami found was smoother compared to the rest, and this fits the description of "left untouched," just like what was written on the large description or business card that was given to him. Though he has found the found the gem of the night, Masami wasn't exactly sure how to report this back to the requestee.

He normally went out, walking in a straight line and... huh? Why did this feel darker and colder? Was this not the right place? Confused and anxious, Masami continued to walk, unsure if he had made turns on the way or... ah. Was it magic? Was someone messing with him? Probably one of the miners, perhaps one of them was a mage and decided to trick Masami, at least in his own perception. He snapped a finger, making the light brighter.

Masami
Masami was fond of what it feels like to be surrounded by magic, at least now, he was. He remembered what it felt like when Tomoe Tanaka conjured swords that floated in the air, he remembered what it felt like meeting people who were full of magical power. All of those share a single feeling, and this situation was sharing it as well. Knowing that it was a barrier, or at least being placed inside a certain space, there must be a visible light barrier somewhere around here. If they were mere miners or a hired magician, then there is no way that they would be able to cast a strong enough magic to sustain an invisible barrier, and that was exactly the answer. Masami stopped walking, then touched the wall on his side, gently pulling himself downwards. His legs met the cold floor, and his back met the cold walls.

All we have to do is wait for the spell to stop sustaining, so that whoever was casting the spell would have no mana left to sustain it, right? They were probably expecting Masami to panic and to venture farther than he was supposed to be, thus he waited. The light floating on top of his pinky finger flickered and then completely vanished, leaving Masami surrounded in utter darkness. When he leaned his head against the wall, too, he tried not to sleep. The darkness felt calming, rather than scary a while ago, and it comforted Masami's lonely soul. Eventually, after a few minutes had passed, what Masami expected to happen had become a reality: finding himself right beside the exit of the mines, and the light was shining upon it.

He laughed at himself while pulling his own self up, then brushing dust off of his clothing. "Well, that was quick." he audibly uttered out, finally taking a leave.

When he was finally outside, he found the guard miner asleep and walking endlessly in a circle, and the thought was more scary than funny. 'As expected.' thought Masami, proud of being such an intuitive fellow. While he continued to venture out, coming back to the village to report what he saw, he was also looking around for whoever cast the spells, but he won't beat them now. Perhaps come back tomorrow to see if the same thing happens? Now, he was just a kid making fun of whoever adult that cast a spell, perhaps even looking down on them, but now Masami had to finish the request and report his sights. Now that Masami was getting himself payed, he honestly felt like he was in a school club, doing requests for grades; not that he had ever been in school, however. He was too busy with theater and economical works to even bother with his own school, but then a few years after, Masami was sure that he was more capable than the other students for studying (and being committed) on his own self-studies. To be unlike the other kids, it truly was unfair for Masami.
