..And there Alisa sat, clad in her casual choice of brown skirt and sheer, breezy white blouse, not looking to have moved much from the task at hand. Surprisingly enough for such a whimsical woman, Alisa could easily absorb herself in her handiwork and fall into a flow, barely finding any distractions to draw her eyes away from the many clues she had to sort through. She had, however, changed her drink since the last time Sofia came by, replaced the long finished coffee with a fresh, fruity cocktail... Despite her important work, Alisa looked like the very picture of cool.

...And yet the way her hand all too easily found its way to her hair, fiddling with those silky black strands, idly twirling those tresses around her finger, that posture alone hinted at a certain restlessness... Not any form of anxiety towards the mission at hand or how challenging it may turn out, but the fact that her spouse was there on the tail of an unseen foe, without Alisa there to support her:

"Just what in the world is taking her so long...", mumbled the worried wife, her foot beginning to tap ever so slightly into marbled tiles below, putting aside another sheet of paper as her eyes narrowed before the sculptress took a deep breath and sunk back in her chair. She knew Sofia was a brilliant, powerful mage... And yet...

“Surprise attack!” Certainly never happy to keep her wonderful wife waiting on her and that why Sofia opted to exploit her ability to throw herself into a situation the blink of an eye, the spirits of the siren were rather high as she summoned herself out of nowhere and immediately used the opportunity to her advantage to perform the cheekiest pounce she could, allowing her to grasp her lady love in a manner that some might have seen as rather indecent given their situation.
“Guess whooooo~?” The mitts of the mermaid wrapping around the chest of the White Empress in a fashion that certainly left the imagination a little lacking, perhaps someone had forgotten to inform her that the orbs she should have been covering sat about a foot or so higher than where her hands had landed, but at the same time one supposed that at the very least her error made it rather easy for the ebony enchantress to guess the identity of the figure who accosted her. And it felt pretty good as well.

“Sorry to keep you waiting love~” Smiling and purring once she had her fun however and letting her hands move in opposite directions once she did, as one of those paws moved down to curve around Alisa’s waist the other climbed high to touch her cheek, the latter of which she further exploited push those lush lips a little closer to her own so that she might share a smooch in her greeting before grinning at her gorgeous goddess gleefully.
“But I come back with intriguing news~” Nuzzling the nape of her black beauty next and continuing to hum with delight as she squeezed herself close to her dark delight as she did so, on this occasion Miss Serena stood on ceremony in no way as she slipped into the lap of her marvellous mistress and mewled as she rested in it, basking in her success and the praise and appreciation she was soon to receive for her good deeds…

No sooner than she'd begun to wonder just what might have kept Sofia held up, knowing that simply finding the man and asking him about the missing merchant shouldn't have taken more than a couple of minutes, Sofia herself soon confirmed it in a way that drew a subtle shiver as she felt the girl's loving hands over her eyes. Alisa let out the softest, surprised little gasp, all too pleased to play along her lover's mischief, reaching a hand over her faintly glossy lips as they parted:

"Oh my, could this be...?", despite that playful purring tone and the girly little giggles that came with it, Sofia could almost here the moment when Alisa actually sighed in relief, the tenderness with which she cupped her hand and smiled, "Sofia~...?"

As she spoke, Alisa would look over her shoulder, squeezing her wife's soft hand lovingly, slipping those dainty digits between her own, chuckling as the girl merely apologiezed for her tardiness, until the sculptress could only smile and shake her head:

"You're always worth the wait my love~", spoke the sculptress, looking over her shoulder and nuzzling her back, until merely the feel of her warm breath on her cheeks all but brought goosebumps to her skin. Marvelling at those silky soft strands tickling her smooth skin, Alisa moved with complete unison, seeking her lover's lip for a little smooch, "...But do tell, what news did you learn from our first clue~?"

Cooing softly at those wandering hands, Alisa couldn't help but tickle Sofia's hand teasingly with her fingernails, basking in this soothing, heartwarming affection even as her brow rose curiously~ Gazing into those glimmering eyes of green, the sculptress felt an unyielding sense of relief washing over her knowing that no harm had come to her beloved, draping both arms around her as she snuggled the girl close.

“Heeheehee, how did you know~?” Giggling and squeezing her goddess close to her with a smile, even though the question she asked had an easy answer there was something about the cuteness of the moment that defied the debauchery of the situation and delighted Miss Serena as she nuzzled the lips of her luscious lover, and settled on the seat along with her with her head resting on the woman’s shoulder as she enjoyed a moment of bliss with her black beauty.
“I missed you so much, my beautiful bride~” The mission she had been through hardly the most trying escapade she had ever endured but still enough to make her long for the warmth of her wife, now that she had her again she couldn’t help but tuck her head underneath Alisa’s chin and purr softly, and felt herself relaxing immediately as she did so.

“Well according to Jaren the guy never showed, and he was waiting there all day long for him, which seems super strange?” The arms of the auburn angel snaking around the black belle and squeezing her tightly as she enjoyed this chance to have the attention of her amazing amazon all to herself, Sofia smiled as she began to speak of her discoveries and knew that regardless of the jewels and treasures she might have received on other quests, what she had right now was absolutely her favourite reward from any mission she had ever done.
“Like I can understand why you’d wanna avoid Jaren normally, but it sounded like they had some sweet deals cooking, so to duck him entirely says the decision wasn’t voluntary? Something, or maybe someone, stopped that merchant showing up?” The blissful balminess of the beauty she held in such high regard enough to make her melt in an instant, she couldn’t help but feel like a happy little kitten as she rested in the lap of her lover, telling her every gory detail she had learned all while basking in the delight that was the bond they had built together…

"And I you, my wonderful wife~", cooed the sculptress, nipping gently at her lover's bottom lip, holding her close, arms draped around that slim waist as one hand slid sensually up, finding herself twirling an auburn lock around her finger as she relaxed in the soothing warmth of her beloved, "Hmmmm, if I had to guess...", raising a finger to her chin as she glaced up for a brief moment, a playful smile quickly drew on Alisa's face as she nibbled her bottom lip and gazed into those gorgeous eyes, cheeks reddening ever so softly as she professed her unyielding love for the woman in her arms, "...Must have been the way you made my heart skip a beat~"

Something entirely genuine despite the playfulness of it all, an effect only Sofia Serena could ever really boast about. Holding the girl's head to her shoulder, Alisa stroked her silky hair gently, purring as she nuzzled her lovingly and sighed happily at how warm it felt to simply hold her in her arms:

"Oho...? Now that is quite the interesting twist... Then what on earth might have happened to him~?", even the seriousness of the situation did little to detract from the honeyed mood between the two wives... If anything, working on a case with her beloved brought a different kind of thrill to their relationship, a little bit of spice of the two to enjoy, reminding Alisa just how much she missed working on missions with her beloved Sofia, "...Indeed, doesn't look as though you'd pass up a deal like that after how long it must have taken to set it up..."

Alisa stroked her chin... There was more to this case than met the eye. She needed to have another look at the evidence, taking Sofia's new information to help make more sense out of it...
