Joshua was shirtless as he trained with the animated armor. It clashed its full and rusted sword blade against the dagger Joshua was using. He may not normally be normally focused on close range combat, but he was always making sure his close range skills were up to snuff. The armor wasnt very good at fighting. But it was better then fighting just his shadow. He kicked the armor in the chest and it slid back scrapping against the stone under their feet. Joshua raised his hand and the armor stopped. Returning to its station to wait for further commands.

He walked over to the water basin and opened the old spouts. The water poured hard and fast, filling the basin fully rather quickly. He turned it off and dunked his head fully into the ice cold water. He pulled his head up gasping for air from the sudden temperature change. His silver hair was now wet as he let his body cool down quickly. Joshua dried his hair with the cloth towel he had and sat down to take a break.

The young man drank from the basin and leaned back closing his eyes and practicing his breathing. Joshua was strong, but after everything he had seen in the oak catacombs had shaken his confidence in his skills. He was practicing more to make sure he could still do it then to learn anything new.

Turmoil still plagued the battle-hardened Nephilim as he tapped his cold steel fingertips against his temple reading documentation regarding the Syndicate. So far it had been mostly positive there were reports of discontent within the communities beneath the organization. Kon wasn’t in the right state of mind to micromanage the entirety of the syndicate and had allocated the responsibilities to various other members within the guild. Instead, his attention was shifted to the knowledge that his life had altered seemingly permanently. No longer was he capable of manipulating light and his own relative presence within the world. Now he was directed by a benevolent frost sprite who turned him into an icy specter lacking a heartbeat having turned his heart into a solid shard of ice. The motives of the sprite were unknown to the man, though it was clear that he was being used as a vessel of sorts. Choosing him as a vessel made sense given his strong bonds with the magic only being rivaled by a handful of people throughout Fiore and fewer still who could surpass it.

Casting aside the documents, spilling out across the table, Kon rested his fingers together and began to meditate. There were certain risks exploring his psyche with Midas’ remnants embodying his greed and paranoia while his own troubled memories clouded his mind’s eye. It was only at the discretion of the sprite that he could seek clarity, with it fighting off Midas, truly representing a clash of Heart and Greed. With the relief offered to him, Kon had been able to explore sections of his memories previously crippling him. In those terrible and disorienting thoughts memories of laughter echoed throughout it, those of a woman and two distinctly different children. Just who were these people that haunted his memories with such joy? Clearly he knew them but from where?

His mediation was cut short by the arrival of a citizen of Sieghart Mountain who had somehow reached him. He had been brought forth in front of Kon by the hands of the guard, explaining he had been found on the island looking for his child. The citizen shoved to his knees looked at Kon seeking mercy and leniency while tears ran down his face and snot left his nose. With a sigh, Kon knew that he’d have to make an example out of the man just as he had done so many times before. Revealing his golden hand, Kon approached the restrained man before applying gentle pressure to his forehead. Strangely the transition of flesh to metal was impeded by a sudden burst of frost that turned the man instead into an ice cube.

Stunned by the transformation, he looked at his hand coated in a thin layer of transparent ice. Shaking off the crust, he dismissed the member taking away the icicle who would be hung amongst the others. Taking a slow, deep breath in, Kon voiced his concerns into his subconsciousness only receiving a childish giggle in return and a single word. “Soon” The sprite within him was growing and maturing, changing his very body.  “what would become of me?” His role had made confiding in others difficult much less seek guidance from. Being the Guild Master of a Dark Guild had not helped his reputation nor did his threatening attitude to the common folk. His superior complexity alongside the paranoia that had been brewing within him certainly didn’t help.

Scream out in frustration, limbs cast to their sides with ice plastering the entire room while countless spikes resembling daggers left his hand piercing his front door. Soon enough the entire room became plastered with shards of frozen water, knowing that it was ill-advised to remain where he was, Kon, seeing no options, shattered the damaged door with a great and mighty punch. Rushing down the stairs three at a time as ice crystals formed around him. Swearing under his breath as he barely had time to get out of the stairway before it turned into a tower of ice. Somewhat out of breath and ice growth having halted, Kon clutched his chest noticing that his body was becoming enveloped with a clear but sturdy ice coating. His gauntlet remained unaffected and with any luck he would be able to nullify the coat if needed.

It seemed the sprite within him had also become fatigued, leaving the troubled Guild Master to his own thoughts. This included figuring out what had been happening to his guild during his personal problems. His attention was first drawn to a member within his guild, Joshua, whose abilities were largely untested but seemed to have great potential. Drawing closer to his guild member, Kon raised a hand up into the air. “Joshua.” Greeting him by his name and nothing more. Formality was always preferred by the Nephilim even in the shirtless state that his guild member was in.

As the storm is ongoing, every player in the topic—excluding the user—will be assigned a number. This is done by dividing 100 by the number of people in the topic excluding the user. The user must state these numbers and the names they're attached to the moment they use this spell. Starting from the moment the spell is cast, the user may roll a dice (including the first time this spell is cast). They may not edit the number ranges after the rolling begins. Based on whose name it rolled on, thunder will strike down from the skies randomly and hit that person, dealing S-Rank lightning magical damage. This is instantaneous and cannot be dodged. However, it does not go through armour or shields.

Description: A large gauntlet that was made from the purest gold in all the land and heavens. Said to be by the Gods themselves. This gauntlet was forged and blessed with the power to turn objects and spells into gold. It is seen as a gift to its owner blessing them with great wealth and prosperity, but it is a great curse.

History: The Gauntlet of Midas, forged from the finest and purest gold in all the land and heavens. It was said the gauntlet was forged by the Gods themselves and blessed to grant whoever wore it with great wealth and prosperity. The gauntlet was handed down to Midas of Bosco.

The gauntlet was a gift to help his homeland prosper during the great Seraphim Demon threat. Its ability to turn all objects and spells into gold made Midas a powerful warrior in his own right. But power and wealth corrupts. The power of the gauntlet corrupted Midas, manifesting into violent paranoia that everyone was out to steal it from him.

Midas wanted to keep the power of the gauntlet to himself so he turned on his own allies and sided with Illumin. Vengeful from Midas' betrayal the gods bound Midas' soul into the gauntlet so he could never enter Illumin's Grace

Requirements


  • The user does not have to be of a class that can wield off-hand weapons but can be used in the off-hand slot.
  • Users that have collected a relic may ignore any pre-existing requirement for any of the nine. They also receive a 50% discount as the finder of the relic weapon while receiving a 25% discount for all other relic weapons, no other discount apply when purchasing a relic weapon.


Drawbacks


  • Paranoia: The Spirit of Midas inside the Gauntlet carries on his strong desire to keep the Gauntlet to himself, this spreads to the current bearer. Midas' corrupted will affects the user with a strong desire to protect and keep the gauntlet from others, eventually turning into paranoia.
  • Fused: The Midas' Gauntlet is permanently fixed to the user's hand until their death or the loss of the hand.


Abilities


  • Golden Touch: Anything struck by the Midas' Gauntlet will immediately turn to gold and become immobile if the target's overall or limb durability reaches its limits the effect will apply across the limb or the entire rest of the targets body. Note: This effect does not apply to the user or their equipment.
  • Midas' Nullification: Midas' Gauntlet can turn spells into gold upon hitting it. The wielder must pay the same amount of mana as the spell they are hitting to transmute it.

Physiology: Timcanpy is a simple minded, though incredibly curious about the world, its naivety frequently gets it and its owner into troublesome situations. Timcanpy is a small, golden ball-like being with four, stubby legs, the front two of which he can form little "fingers" with, a long tail that ends in a thick swirl, and two feathered wings. A cross fleury adorns his "face", and above it are two small horns. He does also has a mouth, teeth and tongue, which he has recently learned to eat with. Despite having most of the components to speak it, it is unable to after being cursed by the maker’s rival.

As Konstantin ran down the stairs, Joshua couldnt help but hear the loud sounds of running. He stood ready, but not expecting an enemy. as his Guild Master came into view, and a sudden chilly air filled the training room as the staircase behind him leaked the frozen air down the stairs. Joshua nodded and responded with a rather cold and flat "Sir". He looked his guild master up and down, and didnt notice as his eyes shined a slight purple. the remaining lich energy he had been attacxked with was still within his body. and it colored the world he saw now. He had seemingly lost the ability to see the spirits themselves, perhaps being near the lich had allowed that. But he could still see the negativity those spirits left behind.

He saw the darkness hanging around Konstantin and it made his blood boil. But instead of attacking him, he walked to the center of the room and played with the knife he was practicing with. "I saw a lich in the Oak catacombs. Unfortuenately hes still alive." Joshua threw the knife into a nearby target. "He seemed to know me, know more then he should. It got me thinking, What ever he did to my eyes he probably meant to do. But for what ever reason i cant figure it out." Joshua turned to look directly at Konstantins face. His eyes were like daggers, prodding and searching his guild master mind. "I spent my entire life looking at the world with the lenses of a god to keep me safe. But in the end he tried to kill us all. I learned the ahrd way there is no Truth in this world...But there is truth in you."

Joshua opened his hand and created a .25 meter Mirror, it wobbled before Joshua moved it toward Konstantin. It would float at face Level as Joshua continued talking. "When i joined the Syndicate i didnt do it to help you. I did it...To be the man to whos there to keep you on the right path. A path where the world ends in a peaceful Unity. But i also know that that goal cant be reached without bloodshed and deciet." the mirror would vanish as Joshua Settled into a Combat stance. "Ive been patient enough, But now.... Now io need to see if the man whos aura is as black as yours has a good reason for it. Show me the Truth in your heart, sir."

Joshua had always been an unusual man preferring to wear the most peculiar attire with a questionable predisposition at the best of times. His words were shatter-brained making mentions of a lich in Oak, Odin undoubtedly. "What was that mysterious skeleton doing?" Wanting to hear the obviously confused man, Kon continued to remain silent, narrowing his own single black eye following Joshua's own piercing gaze. What could be gleaned from the subtle, yet hostile motion? The shift from the present to Joshua's obsession and reliance on religion, that being Illumin?, from what Kon could recall. The beliefs of his members weren't something he was overly focused on, rather what they could do for him. It was curious however as he spoke essentially blasphemy choosing to put stock in Kon's word at least that's how he interpreted Joshua's unusual monologue.

At least that's what Kon perceived until Joshua proclaimed himself as the moral-compass, the guiding light for Kon. Something that amused him greatly. To think he had any bearing on Kon's views, he was still but a man, Kon was blessed with boons from the gods and human. Even now he could feel his heart sucking away the warmth around the area, exhaling a chilly breath as the moisture in the air froze. A slight chuckle left Kon's lips as he looked at his guild member turn hostile, surely he knew he had no chance against Kon? Waving away Joshua's remarks, Kon finally spoke. "I wouldn't recommend fighting me, Joshua, It will not be a pleasant experience for you." Knowing it would be foolhardy to assume that Joshua would be turned by just words, Kon shifted his own stance, the time for formalities was over, this was something that would not go unpunished.

Sliding his right leg back, he led with his left, arms both drawn in front of his body in spite of the barrier that shielded him. While Kon could see that Joshua has some form of defensive magic, it would be like butter for his gauntlet. Had Joshua brought his cross for this fight, it would have been extended, but still ending in the same outcome. More than ready to fight his disrespectful guild member, Kon brought up his right arm generating powerful lightning charing the sleeve revealing prosthetic shinning as thunder rippled through the air. Rain followed shortly thereafter before lightning struck the ground and surrounding buildings shattering the stone floor. Water landing on Kon slid off him in chunks turning to ice creating a noticeable frost zone, up until Kon dashed towards the bare-chested man. A single punch would likely knock him out, even a single bolt of lightning would, but he needed, no wanted, to remind Joshua of the stark contrast in power between them.

Joshua would have taken that attack full front, if he had any chance to servive it. Instead he ducked down slapping the ground as Konstantin tried to get into position. the cracks in the ground glowed as Joshua kicked the Trainign dummys into overdrive and used their spears to seemingly pin constantin before he could get off the attack. But Joshua knew full well that it wouldnt stop his masters next attack, Hed be lucky if they withstood a punch.

But he knew one thing, and that was his own mind. "A Pleasent experiance?" Joshuia said as he opened his hand into a flat palm, the magic circle that appeared circled slowly and began to form the mirror. It wasnt Something he was used to doing. The mirror he was making was stronger then the one he had made before. Its flat circular surface was small, barely bigger then his palm. The anger and annoyance on Joshuas face was obvious as he spoke up. "Was it a pleasent experiance fighting off the angel that tried to take my body as its own? Was it a pleasent experiance hearing the screams of my family and friends as the angels fire burned all around us?"

Joshua growled almost, his anger building. He was not normally a emotional person. The mirror grew to the size of the first mirror he had made. But it was struggling to go any further. The magic circle pulsed and quivered as joshua forced it to it top keep growing. His mana pushing the spell further and further despite the strain on Joshuas face.

"Im not here to be pleasently treated. And neither are you. Lets cut the goddamn act." the mirror shined a bit as it reached its full size. But Joshua wasnt done as he opened his other palm, another circle forming before the smaller mirror was resummoned. This time, Joshua forced it to the bigger size with relative ease. It wasnt perfect and he had no idea if it could survive his guild masters attack. But he was going to find out.

"I dont know why, but i can see the darkness around you. What ever that lich did to me im greatful for, because now i can see i need more answers. You served duriong the war, you fought the angels and demons off at every point." The second mirror shimmered and wobbled in its placxe before joshua resolidified it with his mana.

"The world calls you a hero, it recognizes you along with all the others who fought that day... But what they dont know is that you use the angels and demons powers yourself. You stand there as defewnder of the world while your own power comes from them!" Josshua took up a battle stance. he wasnt like the others in the world. He had been chosen as well, but he fought against it. He refused to take that damn power. "And while you may be human by blood your long gone from our race. You are something entirely different. Thats why i must be here. Thats why i will question your every motive and every move! Because to believe in an ideal, is to be willing to betray it for the good of the cause! to follow a man into battle with your convictions is to question that man until there is no questions left top be asked and there is only one path forward!"

The actions of the man in front of him, took him aback with Kon almost expecting his guild member, Joshua to try and flee from the imposing man. Perhaps his words held some weight, but that would remain to be seen. Instead of running from Kon, Joshua threw various weapons at him with little to no effect bouncing off the ice barrier around Kon with ease. “Ha.” The frost-covered Nephilim responded to Joshua’s feeble attempts as though they were nothing to him. In spite of the dangerous situation he was now facing, Joshua tried to maintain a dialogue between him and Kon which was fruitless as lightning struck behind the bare-chested man. All other noises including those uttered by him were muted as cracks of electricity split the sky. Seemingly unconcerned with the deadly lightning behind him, Joshua cast a spell, a mirror?, arcane in nature, quite weak, it’s abilities were unknown save for it being a defensive spell but it’s effects would not matter as a result of it’s minor size. Holding no threat to the Nephilim, Kon plowed through it as he ran at Joshua turning the silver mirror into gold causing it to fall and shatter as it struck the gold.

Joshua’s attempts to defend himself feeble as they might be were irritating with another being created as he once more spoke of their shared goals. It was only his comments that gave Kon pause, with him commenting on the actions that Kon had done. Referring to the man as a Hero before revealing far more than he should know. It was true that he had been blessed by the grace of Illumin but was unbound by the rites that others were chained to. But how did someone like him, a speck of dust in the turning wheel of time know? What truly rubbed Kon the wrong way was how he assumed that he was a defender of the world purely for the actions he had committed.

“You know far more than you should and yet your information is incomplete, I never said I was a defender of the world.” Smiling as Joshua once more shifted his position. “I have fought and fought for peace and to ensure that this world is not a battleground for Seraphim and Demons.” Sighing deeply, Kon drew up his gauntlet. “I have made many sacrifices, in the hopes that I could do so, but it was never enough!” Shouting with unrelenting force, Kon continued. “Humanity is a curse amongst earth, I have had my memories torn and played with for the amusement of mages, an eye and an arm torn from my body, what do I get as a thanks? A fly in my drink assuming he can stop me.”

Joshua’s further accusations only infuriate Kon further enticing him to blitz towards the man, knowing that Joshua would be turned to nothing more than a statue. Kon drew up a punch with his steel right arm focusing the blow towards Joshua’s stomach following up into his chest. Such a blow undefended would undoubtedly leave him incapacited and with numerous shattered ribs. It would certainly hurt a lot for the man but it won’t leave him as a garden ornament or be melted down into gold bars.

Joshua barely managed to move as Konstantin destroyed the first mirror. it bounced off the ground clattering loudly and in his attempt to get away Joshua Jumped back, only to find the mirror he had made with his other hand being shattered without resistance. What ever damage it might have reflected Joshua wasnt able to see, as he was suddenly and quite painfully launched through a wall. the cloud of dust filled the room. Joshua was out cold. His body laying in the rubble of his Own guild wall.

But as he lay there, his ribs shattered, he felt the tug of something brining him back from the edge of death. The Dust began to settle as Joshua groaned and stood up, grabbing something from behind the fog. His sillouete moved as it pained him. He may have healed but he wasnt anywhere near not badly hurt. the Dust settled and Joshua stood holding the Punisher, the room he had been so gracefully sent into had been the changing room. He panted and spat out the blood in his mouth. His nose leaked the red liquid.

His other hand, glowed with the final remains of the Magic circle, the fully formed mirror floated to a standard position infront of Joshua as a small Shield. Despite its .5 meter size, Joshua was greatful it was there. He was 20 meters from Konstantin, A clean space between the two of them.

"Listen to yourself..." Joshua spoke, his words pained as he did so. He looked at Konstantine as the dark energies that had revived him faded, and he was finally on his own legs again. Still not healed much, but he could fight again. "Humanity is a curse? That bullshit Konstantin."

Joshuas eyes were his own again, His own firey soul blazed within those orbs. But the anger was gone. It had been replaced by cold understanding. Joshua had Seen what he needed to see. But he wasnt going to give up. Now the battle real began. He let the mirror float as he lifted the Punisher up with his other hand. He pointed its barrel at Konstantin despite knowing he wasnt fast enough to keep up with him.

"I may not be blessed like you... I may not have the power and gifts you have...But I" he stumbled a bit, his arm hurting from the impact, but he didnt lower his weapon. "But...Even if i am weak, there are miracles you can seize with your hands if you fight on to the very end! Dont forget that your only where you are because we humans possess the greatest strength possible, The Strength to change!”

Joshua Let go of his gun and snapped his finger. He motioned at the same time to send the shield rushing 10 meters forward ar C rank speed. The snap was the first step, and the second he was unsure how it would work. As he actiovated his amgic, the magic circle swelled bellow him and he was flung through the air toward the mirror he had made. But he wouldnt let it go there. He snapped again, making sure to do so when he was safe. He turned and saying 'step' he kicked off a thin mirror disk in the air and flew past Konstantin. he hit the ground and rolled into a kneeled position, his pants letting him slide over the stone floor without hurting his knees badly. He took aim and fired off a large blast right at Konstantins back.

Even if it didnt hit, and even if it did. He would pant and keep his aim. But he would speak at the same time. "Never underestimate humanities Potential to grow!"

Konyo

The punch landed, striking the soft squishy flesh of Joshua’s chest, sending him flying and leaving him momentarily incapicated. Far shorter than Kon expected with him rising up now wielding his punisher seemingly out of nowhere. Brief signs of magic resonated around the man, its origins however were unknown to the Guild Master. “Curious…” He muttered while looking at Joshua’s mangled form rise. It was clear the damage he had sustained was still causing him great pain, only through some dark influence had he recomposed himself in this state. Even now, barely breathing Joshua defended his morals while assaulting his own. His words would continue to fall upon deaf ears, even at the added threat of the punisher being directly pointed at him.

Instead Kon gave a more ominous response with each second wasted by his lesser, approaching the man, one step at a time, reinforced by tremendous footsteps creating shards of ice only shifting as Kon phased through them. Apathy grew upon his face as he drew near and near, expecting Joshua to shift from words to action. Kon knew the capabilities of the Punisher, meanwhile the mirror shown to him had shown little sign of stopping the unyielding cold. Curiously perhaps hoping to catch the ever vigilant Kon off guard, he propelled himself in a particularly unusual capacity.

Bemused by Joshua’s attempts, Kon came to a halt sending a cascade of ice from where he stood, turning slowly, as he left his vision. A cocked and loaded Punisher came into sight, just as he moved to face his wouldbe opponent. While the shot rang true, landing upon Kon’s side just below his right floating rib, no pain could be felt, nor any blood spilled. It appeared that the mysterious coating around his body had protected him from the ill-advised attack. A smirk appeared briefly thinking to himself. “Oh I can work with this....”  Shifting from an expression of manipulation and abuse to that of fury and hate, a scowl etched upon Kon’s face.

Ignoring Joshua’s feeble words and further still his feeble attempts to stop him, he pounced towards him, throwing caution to the wind. The Punisher would be torn in two, while Joshua would receive a far harsher punishment than intended had he stood down. Limbs would be torn, nails plucked from their fingers only to be restored at Kon’s whim. He would show him, just want humanity could do, afterall Kon was still a man, just graced and with few equals.

The gauntlet was a gift to help his homeland prosper during the great Seraphim Demon threat. Its ability to turn all objects and spells into gold made Midas a powerful warrior in his own right. But power and wealth corrupts. The power of the gauntlet corrupted Midas, manifesting into violent paranoia that everyone was out to steal it from him.

Midas wanted to keep the power of the gauntlet to himself so he turned on his own allies and sided with Illumin. Vengeful from Midas' betrayal the gods bound Midas' soul into the gauntlet so he could never enter Illumin's Grace

Joshua barely had time to get his words out. His bullet had hit true but it didnt even hurt the Guild Master. It was ass if the very air around him stopped the impact. Joshua cursed and pushed himself back and away from where he was. But he barely had time to react. Konstantin lunged so quick and so fast that Joshua didnt even notice him move. The difference was growing clear with every passing second.

Joshua was out matched. He only had one more action he could take. He yelled out and swung the Punisher with both hands. Regardless of if it did any damage, as soon as he had the other end pointing at his opponent. He pulled the trigger sending out the rocket. It only traveled a few inches before exploding against Konstaintin, if he didnt somehow block it that is.

If the explosion happened. Joshua would be sent flying back from the blast and slamming his back against the wall falling down defeated. He couldnt move even if he was awake and conscious. His body was hurt. And the punisher was damaged, the end scorched and buried ed by the explosion. Joshua was silently sleeping from his impact.

Konyo

Joshua had no intentions it seemed of just letting Kon have his way with him. Instead he used his final bout of energy to take out Kon even if it meant his own defeat. It was an almost admirable display if not futile. This was becoming somewhat of a problem. He would have to stamp out this disobedience that has become so embedded within Joshua. The leniency that he had given his members was unacceptable and not sustainable if he wanted to achieve his vision in a timely and efficient manner. If that meant he’d have to beat his fellow guild members into submission then he’d do so. Fortunately he had not needed to do so until now. Other members were already busy working away, even now people like Erebus were completing missions without question nor sign of betrayal.

For now Kon would have to forgo the long term issues and deal with the rocket that was being propelled towards him. Raising up his golden gauntlet, a venerable hand of midas, Kon felt mana drain from his body as the ball of flames turned to gold and fell to the ground as he released his brief grasp on the shiny orb. Disappointed by Joshua’s feeble attempts, Kon opened his mouth before looking at the man, vulnerable, swaying from side to side, eyes glazed over, head lolling around, breathing shallow. Nothing was to be gained by berating him in this state. Instead Kon clicked his fingers in an attempt to gain Joshua’s attention in his reduced conscious state, no response could be seen. He did notice a draw of power extend through his body once again, bathing the area in a blast of ice. Rather than damaging either of them, it seemed to do the latter. Wounds were resown, bruises wiped from flesh. “Interesting” Kon thought to himself as he gazed at his left hand.

Requirements


  • The user does not have to be of a class that can wield off-hand weapons but can be used in the off-hand slot.
  • Users that have collected a relic may ignore any pre-existing requirement for any of the nine. They also receive a 50% discount as the finder of the relic weapon while receiving a 25% discount for all other relic weapons, no other discount apply when purchasing a relic weapon.


Drawbacks


  • Paranoia: The Spirit of Midas inside the Gauntlet carries on his strong desire to keep the Gauntlet to himself, this spreads to the current bearer. Midas' corrupted will affects the user with a strong desire to protect and keep the gauntlet from others, eventually turning into paranoia.
  • Fused: The Midas' Gauntlet is permanently fixed to the user's hand until their death or the loss of the hand.

  • Golden Touch: Anything struck by the Midas' Gauntlet will immediately turn to gold and become immobile if the target's overall or limb durability reaches its limits the effect will apply across the limb or the entire rest of the targets body.
