Hermit IV [Requiem] Empty Tue Mar 31, 2020 5:23 pm

Requiem
Requiem leapt to her feet when she saw who was now in front of her, "hello traitor."
"Go fuck yourself sadist." The elder version of her next sister smiled sardonically, "mmm, with pleasure. But that's for later." Requiem had to remind herself that she needed to do this or the magic from the tarot card would cause her no end of grief, "so what can I do you you....Camellia?" Requiem ground out the name of the sadistic sister that had, during her time with them, tortured animals and perverted Ariel magic to enslave and mutilate them, "aww, I just wanted to see you again."

Requiem took a deep breath and did her best to stay calm, "so what do you want? News flash, I'm not nekomata anymore." She found herself incredibly grateful that she had turned back to human before now. The memory of Camellia laughed haughtily, "oh dear sister, you know why I'm here." Requiem glanced at the two monstrosities that had also arrived, "I can hazard a guess."

Two eyeblinks later, Requiem found herself standing in a ruined coliseum, "look familiar?"
"Vaguely. They had us try to kill each other here right?"
A sickeningly sweet smile was all Requiem got in return. Of course this memory would be demented like the person attached to it. She drew her knife and stood ready as the two creatures flanked her while keeping her eyes on Camellia, "There's a twisted joke here isn't there. When I left you hated animals." Requiem tried to unsettle her opponent as the creatures took up their positions.

It didn't take an expert to see that no matter where Requiem looked, there would be an attacker in her blindspot. She took a breath and listened for the tell tale sound of impending attack from the massive creatures as they growled and stalked closer. Whether it be through pure luck, or divine intervention, she narrowly avoided the claws as she drew her blade to strike down her sister.

Blinding white agony ripped her back and she stumbled forward, looking into the malicious smirk of Camellia, "oh fuck this. Not again."

Six times.
Six. Fucking. Times.

And she was still no closer.

Whatever magic was forcing Requiem to go through this must've been a sadistic prickly because her seventh attempt was no better. Well, she did finally manage to kill one of the creatures, but Camellia and the other monstrosity killed her right after.

Requiem was pretty sure her picture was permanently etched under the definition of insanity. Sitting on a piece of debris, Requiem sighed, "why? You're no different from the rest, so why did you leave?" The evil twisted look on memory Camellia's face was gone. Requiem frowned as she looked at the creatures that had been changed as they nuzzled the girl she had thought was a monster. Although dying seven times (even if it was all in her head) didn't make Requiem feel generous towards her.

"Caring hurt."

Camellia smiled sadly, "you can't deny it. Do you really think you could hide it better than the rest of us?" Requiem opened her mouth but found she had nothing to say, "we all expressed our pain differently. Patty ate, I tortured anything that was weaker than me."

"I locked my feelings away."

Camellia nodded, " keeping people at arms length, refusing to truly feel and thereby deny your nature. Ironic isn't it, that the one who had no desires ended up being the one to get what the rest wanted. Only to not appreciate what she had." Camellia got up, the creatures had vanished, replaced with two small birds sitting on each shoulder, "you were given so many wonderful things. Don't squander them."

Requiem's eyes snapped open again in the same damn clearing. The magic of the card in her pocket was subdued, as if sensing the fatigue she felt and not risking to push her too far.

Requiem gathered her things and headed onwards. She had an appointment to get to.

And then she'd take care of the card in her pocket.
