Noel

Noel Raion.

Mago Oscuro @ Advent World

Werewolves, vampires, humans & more lurked across this beastly infected cornerstone of Fiore. It was noon when Noel arrived into this godforsaken town. It was a lie to say that he wasn't here to cause squabbles. Noel was on vacation. Whereas other people might enjoy a walk on the beach, he enjoyed provoking others and fighting them. Today was the first day of his vacation, which is usually dedicated towards getting a hold of the place he was staying. So he headed into town, first order of business was acquiring a place to stay the night. It was better to do that now then later, so he headed towards the nearest inn and asked for a safe place he could stay at. It seems like he was already at the perfect location, or that might have been the salesman within the barman that reared its ugly head. Whatever the case, it was a pretty cheap place and the doors had strong locks. Noel went into his room, he'd place his bag that he'd brought over from Oak in his room, and leave it. Locking the door behind him of course.

Returning to the bar of the same Inn, Noel ordered a pint of beer. “So, what's the latest?” He'd casually ask the barman, having put the money for his pint on the bar as the barman begun filling a tall glass with liquid gold. “Well, where to start really.” The bar man sighed, it was a lie to say that Dahlia was a nice place. “Oh yeah, some guy got attacked across the street yesterday. Some people said he was naked.” Noel raised his brow a little, turning over to the entrance of the bar to see the direction the barman meant. “Someone killed a bunch of monks the other day.” Noel continued to listen to the barman, he had quite a few things to tell that all were on the same level of insanity depending on who'd you ask. “Huh, lovely town huh?” The bar man sighed, and begun attending other guests. Noel thought it might be interesting to investigate some of these events. After downing his pint, he headed into the street - going the direction the barman pointed at when he explained what he'd heard. There was no body, but noticeable markings of blood splattered across the entrance of the alley. Noel inspected the markings, he couldn't tell if these were created due to blunt-force or piercing trauma. Some drips of blood covered the entrance ground as well, it had rained the night before so most of it was swept up already.

Noel sat on one knee, taking a good whiff of the blood. Another scent accompanied it. The strong odor of the victim penetrated his nostrils too much for him to make much sense.  He couldn't tell whose it was yet. His next destination was pretty clear, the temple.

Arriving at the temple the barman described, he'd anticipate a somewhat more crowded place. There wasn't anybody there. Noel took it upon himself to travel through the empty temples, nobody present to stop him anyhow. There was blood splattered across all kinds of surfaces. Someone went quite loud, there were traces of magical destruction all over the place. Small crevices that were filled with guts, most bodies had been moved - or eaten by wild dogs, he couldn't tell. A massacre occurred here. There were a few scents that were all over the place, one in particular stood out. It resembled the one he noticed at the bar. Upon investigating the temple further, a koi pond without koi fish. His nose led him to a lake nearby. The scent was the strongest, the one that lingered on his brain. Interesting. While Jet flied around the sky temple, Noel ceased his investigation for now.

Noel left the temple, he couldn't quite tell which direction the figure went. The scent was quite old. He hadn't noticed how good his sense of smell was before, and thought it was odd he could tell this much now. Something definitely changed in him, he couldn't tell what it was yet. Noel headed back into town, perhaps the guild of this town knew more about these murders. He wasn't sure yet, but a guild by the name of Daeva Eye might have been settled here. Noel asked a random citizen, “Where's the Daeva Eye located?” The citizen pointed at the outskirts. Noel groaned a little, and nodded - symbolically thanking the citizen for this information. He'd head to the outskirts and shortly be met with a large purple compound began appearing within his vision. It was quite grand, his own guild hall felt somewhat more humble compared to this. Many scents emanated around the entrance of their guild hall. One in particular vaguely resembled the one he noticed in the temple. He couldn't tell for sure, it could have been another scent he sort of recognized as well.

He'd be standing still next to the elegant pond in front of their entrance. He was starting to second doubt his decision to come here. With his arms crossed, Noel realized he was about to tread some dangerous ground. This required a well thought and executed plan. After taking a moment to think of an elaborate plan, Noel headed closer to their entrance and eventually begun to knock upon their guild door. “Hello, is there anyone there!?” He'd shout behind the door, awaiting a reply from the inside.

    Kaiser

    revel in chaos;

    City of Vampires ( Daeva Eye ) SmwXEG9

    Kaiser was in quite a bubbly mood today. The officials weren’t pestering her guild with requests to clear out wolf packs in Aldenwald and her mission to fold a thousand paper boats nonstop without getting distracted was a success in the end. Well, she counted it as a success because the only reason she had to stop at nine-hundred and eight-three was because her Voidling guild mate attacked her out of the blue. That was also an interesting change of events, one that both of them learnt something from. Besides that, she was taking her time off from paperwork, to stop herself from becoming a complete madwoman. One of the things she liked about her guild was that everyone was pretty chill about anything related to the legal business. As long as Kaiser was handling it, they didn’t care at all.

    In the late afternoon, Kaiser liked to listen to the news from a radio station on the lacrima device that was placed on her desk inside the office. With just one click, she could change it from a radio station to the line that connected to the communication devices all over the guild, including the one at the entrance where some of the guild members were stationed to keep watch with shifts. It was rare that anyone approached their guild, save for the many reporters who were interested in getting an interview with Kaiser or one of the title holders. In that case, those stationed at the entrance would just shoo them away. However today, it was a lone man with nothing that said ‘I am a reporter’ attached to his profile like the others. Normally they would be wearing a messenger bag with a camera hung on their necks. Either he was a properly disguised reporter, or some rando here for other business. It was rare...actually it had never happened before, that anyone other than reporters came to their guild.

    “Escort him in. You know how it’s done,” Kaiser spoke into the receiver of the device as she pressed onto a button, and then leaned back in her seat. She could see the man from a screen, although it wasn’t as clear as she would like it to be. Making a mental note to purchase a screen with better quality, Kaiser reached for her mug and downed the rest of her coffee, and then left her office to wait for the visitor in the meeting room. The meeting room had no windows, so it was the perfect place to keep a stranger while talking about their business here and reducing the risk of them memorizing the layout of her guild.

    The usual method of any visitor being escorted into the guild was done by either one of their biggest guild members carrying them bridal style into the meeting room after being blindfolded or two to four guild members (depending on the visitor’s weight) carrying him in a box that was designed to look like a coffin that was of course large enough to fit a giant since those were a thing and some tiny holes so the visitor could breathe. The members at the entrance would inform the guest of these methods, and that he was free to leave if he didn’t accept either. They would also inform him that if he tried anything funny while being escorted, he would be put down immediately. After being informed of these methods, and the visitor accepted, they would proceed to transfer him to the meeting room using the method he chose. While this was going on, the guildmistress observed through her lacrima pad that showed her a live playback from the camera at the entrance.

    Noel stood waiting in front of the guild doors for a few moments. Suddenly, the door swung wide open. Centimeters from missing his face, Noel was almost smashed by it. A figure appeared behind the door. Not as cutesy as he had anticipated, Noel expected someone with cutesy neko ears to show up... instead of this brute orc-ish severely muscled woman. It didn't appear human to Noel, it wasn't a human - it couldn't have been. His right eye brow twitched up and down, inspecting the figure. “Nani...” He'd whisper to himself, stepping backwards from the brute. This had been one of the rarer moments in his life that he had to physically look up to make eye contact with another.

    Noel sort of raised his hands, unsure whether or not he was about to be attacked. The woman pointed a finger at him from the opening of the door, “You. Helmet off, armor off, weapon off.” The deep voice that emanated from the entrance somewhat convinced him that he should. He'd purse his lips for a second, looking the orc deeply into the eye. She didn't waver, and kept the serious look on her face. Noel sighed to the side, and nodded. “Fine, kusoyaro.” Noel first headed a bit away from the entrance, and took his helmet off, dropping it in the fountain near the entrance. It needed a wash anyway, as he was taking off the several plates of his armor, the orc-ish woman continued. “And.” Noel surprisingly looked up at the woman, who still observed him from the entrance. He'd throw the triple eye bat, a symbolic gesture for 'Are you fucking kidding me?'. “And you have to put this blindfold on.” Did he want it this badly? To pursue the truth behind the mysteries happening over towns? He'd chuckle, not responding immediately as he continued taking his armor off and dumping it in the pond. He'd coldly reply as he was dumping the rest of his armor into the pond, looking into his self reflection with disgust. “Aye.”

    He'd return to the entrance, the gate keeper named Wabbit threw down the blind fold in front of him. Noel sighed once more, bending over to pick it up. Before he could put it on, the woman had continued. “And.” In anticipation of the next outrageous request, the male managed to retain a somewhat regular face. As if these types of events occurred to him in normal life. “And I shall bring you to the meeting room. You have two options, you may freely pick which.” Before Noel could ask any question, the woman just continued as if he was to accept all of these terms without being able to argue about it. “You shall either be carried by me, or you will be placed in a coffin and brought to the meeting room. State your preferred method at once.” Noel shrugged. “Why not just both, my dude.” He'd say sarcastically, his hand was raised, pointing a finger at the woman as he was about to talk. Being severely interrupted before he could do so, Wabbit continued. “Very well,” She'd say, quickly grabbing an black colored ebony coffin from the side of the entrance of their guild hall. Popping it open, a red cushion awaited him inside said coffin. Noel thought that this legitimately had to have been the most intricate way he'd enter have to enter a building. Their guild master must have been very paranoid? That's what he perceived from this situation. After slapping the blindfold on, he entered the coffin. With his stomach facing outwards.

    Wabbit closed the casket and slapped the top part one time to ensure it'd stay closed. It was true, performing a spell in these circumstances might have been impossible due to his hands being severely restricted. Noel could feel how the casket was raised into the air, his left side hung downwards. He was most likely being carried under Wabbits arm. It was quite awkward for him as he couldn't tell up from down that well. The casket once was dropped by accident, causing Noel to grunt from the coffin. “Kusoteme!” Though after wandering what must have been an intricate maze, Noel was eventually brought to the meeting room. He could feel the blood rising to his forehead. When Wabbit finally opened the casket, she had intentionally put him upside down, which made him somewhat fall out of the casket immediately. Stumbling over the floor of said meeting room, Noel sighed out and activated a spell, snapping his fingers with his left hand. Bringing it to his collar, he'd pull his arm upwards. Making him rise from the ground and onto his feet in a very cool fashion, something which appeased the mid life crisis the male was going through. Because there definitely was another person in the room, maybe they could think that Noel was a cool guy? After raising himself up, he'd greet said soul. “Watashi wa Raion desu.” Noel swiftly avoided the issue of revealing his real identity. His nostrils flared for a moment, this scent matched the ones he'd previously have picked upon.

    As if he was led into the lions den.

    This was no time to joke around, Noel used all of his prior experience in social engineering in order to get through this situation. “I am an information broker, I may have interesting information to sell you. Thing is, before I'm able to broker you information - you need to give me some.” Noel said, placing his hands against each other, with the palms rubbing slightly. “And such has brought my inquiry upon Daeva Eye today. Someone wanted information about this guild, in return for some information they have.” If possible, he'd sit down on a chair - had he been allowed by the other person attending the meeting to continue this conversation. “I'd like to simply ask you a few questions, if that's alright, miss.. ?” He brought his hands to his face, peeling the blindfold off gently so he could see around him.

    The scene she was observing through her lacrima pad made her chuckle. She couldn’t believe that the stranger accepted to be taken in a casket into the guild. While it was amusing and made her day, she was suspicious of his purpose of coming here. What exactly did he want? She would find out soon enough. Wabbit, the guild member assigned with the guest escort duty, brought the casket to the meeting room in which Kaiser was patiently waiting. If she was able to hear what the guest was saying from the playback, she would find it even more hilarious that he was swearing in Joyan. Once Wabbit arrived, she pretty much dropped the guest onto the floor, which caused the mistress to raise her eyebrows and say, “Careful, my dear!” to the big girl, who raised one of her hands up to the back of her head, scratching it slowly with an apologetic look. However, the guest took no time to demonstrate a magic trick of his own by flipping himself back up. It was like nothing she had seen before, so naturally the vampire was amused. She made no comment however, not willing to talk about anything but his reason for being here at the moment. Wabbit closed the door behind her, standing by it to wait for her mistress to instruct her to escort him back outside.

    That didn’t seem to be happening anytime soon. Kaiser’s features were washed in a look of ‘Is this for real?’ for just a split second when he began to speak in Joyan, and then became void of any emotion. After hearing him speak to her in her mother’s tongue, she was set on finding out how he knew she was able to understand Joyan, or why he was speaking to her in that language. Of course it was only logical for her to be insecure. A man who looked nothing like a reporter and knew that she was Joyan was in her guild, in her meeting room, in her freaking face. Of course she was alarmed, although her face gave away nothing about the red flags popping up in her head. Wabbit came to the man’s rescue, however, and said, “He’s been mumbling in Joyan the whole time.” This eased the vampire’s mind plenty, and she would cock her head towards the door, a gesture Wabbit would understand as ‘Prepare a drink for our guest’.

    “Soshite watshi wa Kaiser-desu,” she replied with a small smile. She hadn’t spoken in Joyan in such a long time that it felt weirdly refreshing. Although her Boscosi accent would be hard to miss, her Joyan was quite fluent considering she spent the years of ‘growing up’ there with family on her mother’s side. It was less exotic compared to when he spoke Fiorian with her Boscosi-Joyan mixed accent. You could tell she was exotic like a sweet-scented colorful fruit right after you heard her pronounce Fiorian words. Before speaking any further, she waited for him to reveal his purpose of coming to Daeva Eye. It was about time he did that, but what he told her made her eyebrows shoot up in utter disbelief mixed with amusement. It was as if the universe was throwing her some entertainment after having her cooped up in her office seven days a week. An information broker...it was quite interesting. Maybe it was all a ruse, or maybe it was for real. It couldn’t get any realer though. He was directly asking her to exchange information with him, which was quite bold, to say the least. Crossing her left leg over her right, she sat up straight in her seat. “That’s quite interesting. I don’t know what makes you think that I’ll willingly oblige, but I can’t help my curiosity.” She leaned forward, resting her chin on a hand that was propped up on the long marble table between herself and the guest. “What do you want to know?”

    Noel Raion.

    Mago Oscuro @ Advent World

    A voice spoke out into the room as Noel was dropped from the coffin onto the ground, which situation he'd have dragged himself out of by performing a small magic trick. No reaction from the room, that was good - due to his smelling, he'd notice that this was the same scent that carried across the many meters of the temple. This probably meant that this opponent was knowledgeable in terms of magical use. He wasn't talking to some squire who'd be surprised and scared. These were confident people. As Noel spoke, introducing himself, Wabbit added that he was talking in Joyan. While it was strange for Noel to talk in Joyan, both his parents were Joyan - sometimes it sub consciously came out, whenever he wasn't paying attention to it - examples being accidents. While Noel began undoing his blindfold, he'd make intense eye contact with the one who introduced herself as Kaiser. “Hajimemashite, Kaiser-hakase.” He elegantly opened, showing a trace of respect for his supposed opponent. The slight insecurity in her voice when she spoke Joyan made it somewhat noticeable to Noel that it wasn't her native tongue completely. Noel wasn't a linguist, but one could assume that Kaiser was either a tourist in Joya, or had parental relations to someone from Joya.

    Wabbit left before Kaiser introduced herself, with a wave of a hand. This woman had some kind of unspoken power, being capable of commanding creatures such as Wabbit. Noel took a look around him, and this place was just like one could imagine when stuffing more than ten women in one place. From his entry, it didn't seem like they received male guests often. Or any. This room was so over the top, that Noel glanced across its entirety, taking a moment or two before setting his eyes on Kaiser once more. Since his complete armor laid to be washed in their fountain, he stood on a very fuzzy pink carpet. He could feel the gentle fiber between the cracks of his toes. This wasn't a place Noel enjoyed being at. Four different 'live love life' signs had a place on each wall of the meeting room. The room was illuminated with lilac colored lights, sending a thick shade of purple over everything in the room. It looked like a scene out of another planet. Every chair had two mini cushions by its side. The chairs themselves were padded by leather, dragging the chair to himself made the male notice how roughly the edges of the chair grinded against the carpet. That poor baby wasn't going to last more than a month. Upon pulling the chair to himself, he noticed the two pillows. One of them saying, "CROCUS" in a weird font - a picture of Crocus spanned across the pillow. The other pillow named "ERA" had a statue in Era on it. How horrible, Noel felt dread build up within him as he showed Kaiser a perfect smile, but his face gently cracking as he sat upon the chair. Sitting uncomfortable as hell due to the pillows.

    As Kaiser spoke, Noel listened to her response. Sometimes throwing the random glance around the room to actually confirm the insanity of having things like aroma diffusers in the room. A gentle tint of lavender made his nose crinkle. He couldn't stand this environment. It lacked the scent of gasoline, cigarettes and booze he normally enjoyed. Noel had thought of an intricate plot to lay out, but due to the environment having such an impact on his mental state, he'd just try to cut to the chase. When Kaiser asked him what he wanted to know, he'd start playing open book. “I'll cut the charade.” His smile began turning upside down. “I know it was you that ran a scene across the bar. And that you murdered the monks in the temple.” Noel too, had crossed one leg over the other. He had respect for this guild hall, and he assumed that Kaiser had the same towards it. It would be unwise for them to create a scene here. Noel regardless slammed the table, a vein popping over his forehead to show that he was being serious. A succulent fell from the meeting table. It was a somewhat more rare sight for those who knew Noel to see him angry. “I have no disrespect to this guild, so I'm not gonna snitch. But let it be known that the next time we meet, we shall clash swords. Sayonara.” Noel jumped up from his chair, and angrily stormed towards the exit of the meeting room “I said sayonara!” He'd say to any response given to him by Kaiser. Wabbit opened the door, presenting the open casket to him.

    Noel felt like he was a big boy, needing no escort to the exit. He'd angrily growl at Wabbit, and then make eye contact. She didn't waver once more, and insisted. Noel sighed in deeply and exhaled. Fuck it, he thought once more. Hopping into the casket, he made intense eye contact with Kaiser as Wabbit closed the casket and escorted him back to the entrance where he was to be dropped off. Being thrown out, Wabbit closed the door behind her. Noel first turned to the entrance as the door closed, “Kusoteme.” Noel collected his equipment from the pool, and broke a branch from one of the trees around the entrance in which he could dry his equipment on as he headed back into town.

    revel in chaos;

    City of Vampires ( Daeva Eye ) SmwXEG9

    To sum it all up, it was one of the strangest visits that the guild has got during its time. After only a short amount of time, the man completely lost his cool, for a reason that Kaiser failed to comprehend. It was like the very air within the meeting room was making him uncomfortable. The nightwalker wondered if it had something to do with her being a vampire, even though he wouldn’t know that unless he possessed a sneaky little ability to. After seeing the trick that he demonstrated upon being dropped out of the coffin by Wabbit, there was no doubt that he was a user of magic, but there was nothing else she could really tell about him other than the fact that he was really bothered by something and just couldn’t keep up with the show anymore. He then spoke of the ‘scene’ that she caused across the bar, and that she killed the monks. Upon hearing this, the vampire blinked, appearing clueless to what he was talking about. Of course this was an act, an act she was a professional at pulling off. She had been doing it for years!

    Appearing startled as the male slammed on the table, Kaiser paid no attention to the succulent that fell off and caused a mess on the floor. She would have to ask the cleaners to clean it up later, and replace the fur carpet since all the dirt would get in between the fur and that was just disgusting. And after speaking of clashing swords the next time they met, the man would get up and leave, meeting with Wabbit once again who would put him in the casket to take him back to the outside. The big girl glared at the male irritably, due to the way he had acted and talked to her mistress, but without a command to smack him across his face like she wanted to, Wabbit had no right to do such a thing.

    “You must be on your period,” Kaiser would say as he was leaving, but in response to that, he grumpily replied with the words ‘I said sayonara!’ which kind of just confirmed it. She chuckled to herself as he was being escorted out, returning her gaze to the lacrima pad to watch through the lacrima cameras. She couldn’t understand why he didn’t just fight her right there and then. If she wanted to kill someone, she would never tell them beforehand. He either had so much confidence in himself that he was being cocky, or because he had no clue who she was. She was quite curious on how he found out about the mass murder she commited at the temple, though. That was something. However, in the end, what she got out of this meeting was that there was a man who knew about her crimes, and that he also wanted to kill her, a man who knew fluent Joyan too.
