There was nothing that could bring the mage down today! No on this beautiful, wonderful day, on which he can finally talk without writhing in pain, and actually eat solid food. Not on this sunny day of winter, when it was neither too cold, nor too warm.

It was -perfect-.

What wasn't perfect was the fact that he had to wake up so early in the morning, though, 7 AM being the hour of the devil of course, and those that were able to wake up without an alarm at this hour were nothing short of gods and demons, able to control the flow of time itself with a "swish" and a "flick" of their wrist.

Before he had time to think of any other reasons why his day might become less and less fun, he was assaulted by the form of a large feline, pouncing on him and making him yell out in pain. Ri groaned, and started to lightly push the large animal off of him, shooing him away as he did.

It didn't take long for the mage to get ready afterwards. After all, the weather outside allowed him to dress in less restrictive clothing. So, a hoodie and some pants it was.

Before he left the room, and by extension, his home, he grabbed the flyers he was meant to hand out. At 7 AM. Whoever came up with -that- idea must have been a fool. No doubt that the mage was going to stand in the middle of the street, all alone, with no one passing by to take one of the pieces of paper.

Still, he patted the tiger's head and went on his way.

Oh, what artists had to do to live in this cruel, cruel world. He never imagined himself as an errand boy, but here he was, sent by the ring leader to gather more people for tonight's show. On one hand the mage was happy that he was the one to bring people to their art, and their work, on the other though- Ain't no one taking any flyers at this hour.

Walking through the just snowed street was nothing if not cathartic, and the mage sighed at the sound of crunching in the morning's silence. The further he walked, the more he started forgetting about his problems, and about his rough morning. He couldn't say that he wasn't affected by the calmness of it all. Closing his eyes, he began humming to himself, mind wandering to distant, far off places that usually remained undiscovered, seeing as the mage had barely any time to think of them.

He was roughly woken up as he slammed into a passerby, yelling out in both pain and shock. Mostly shock. He wasn't expecting anyone to be walking around at this hour. And if they were, they could have avoided him.

Even so, the impact, along with the snow under his feet made the mage lose his balance, and fall back, scattering the flyers all around him. Still, he didn't seem to care much about them. Instead, he shook his head to gather himself and looked at the one he had hit.

"Oh, damn! I'm so sorry! Are you alright?"

Amenra

Another beautiful day in Era!

It had been some time since he'd found himself in the comfort of a land so open and pretty, sure Orchidia was cool but it was much too cramped for his style. Amen'ra preferred the beautiful sights that the trees and mountainous region had to offer. The open air and beautiful skies were something he just couldn't get over, it was all so remarkable.

So today he decided he'd find a sort of view, or look out point, to take it all in. Maybe he'd even paint a picture of what he saw when he got home or something, only time would tell. For now, his black sweater and blue jeans hugged his form closely to keep warm, a pair of black boots adorning his feet and a tan fur coat draped over his shoulders. Winter wasn't his favorite time of year but man did he love the fashion.

Amen'ra's eyes trailed the white mist that left his mouth with each breath, taking a moment to stop and look up to the sky to revel in the day. Something about this very day was leaving a good feeling in his soul, maybe it was the sunlight raining down on him despite the winter conditions. His arms moving up to the sky as if praising the sun itself, he would smile to the heavens and sigh out a large plume of white air before something through him off literal balance.

Someone slamming into him and effectively knocking him back, causing the man to stumble but not fall entirely. His boots gripping the sun beneath him and keeping him as upright as a leaning tower, his hands wobbling to maintain his balance. Looking around him to papers dancing in the still air and a young man on the ground Amen'ra would blush with embarrassment and extend a hand to help the poor lad.

"I should be asking you that. I didn't even see you, i'm so sorry." Amen'ra spoke sympathetically while a warm smile filled his handsome features. After helping up the man he would begin to scramble to pick up the papers he'd managed to fling into the air. "Let me help you with these, it's the least I can do." He spoke through an awkward chuckle, his tone as friendly and inviting as it always was.

Ri looked up at the man, gently shaking his head. He mimicked the man's smile as he spoke, "Nah, nah, don't worry, I've got this. It was my fault, anyway." He let out a light chuckle, "My mind was somewhere else."

That said, he did accept the help in standing up. Right now, he didn't trust the snow under his feet, and the fall had somewhat messed with his sense of balance for the moment. It didn't help his jaw either, as he soon figured out, by moving it around. He grimaced in pain, but it wasn't near the level that it had been the last few weeks.

He joined the other in gathering the flyers, even if he insisted on doing it himself. To his disappointment, some had gotten drenched, having landed either in puddles, or in places where there was more ice than snow. He sighed as he looked them over, before crumpling each of the wet ones and throwing them in the nearest trash can. Turning back to the man afterwards, he extended his hand to take the others back, shooting him a friendly smile as he did. "Hey, thanks for the help. You didn't have to."

Once received, he'd actually leave one of them with the man, now empty hand pointing towards it. The picture of starry night, a statue, and what looked like a church would welcome him, the mage speaking not soon after, "If you've got time tonight, there's a theater show going on. It's gon'na be pretty nice." He paused.

"Also, I play in it, so there's a plus." He let out a laugh, shaking his head, "I'm kidding. Well. Not, really, I -do- play in it, but there's more people with more important roles than me." His smile didn't disappear as he spoke, taking a small step back after he made his presentation.

"I'm Ri, by the way. Pleasure making your acquaintance. Oh, and hey, entrance is only a few jewels, so if you're feeling heavy-pocketed, more of a reason to stop by."

Amen'ra dismissed the mans attempts at blaming himself for the collision, it was definitely the sun wielders own fault. Well maybe a healthy serving of both of the men's lack of attention. "That may be true, but my eyes were somewhere else too." He jested, a hand rubbing the back of his head and a grin on his features. It didn't take long for them to pick up each of the flyers with some drenched from the melting snow.

Admittedly the man could of simply used his solar magic to slow dry the papers that had been tossed away, but it was too late. They'd already been disposed of and so he would simply hold his tongue, watching the man wriggle his jaw in pain he prayed he hadn't caused. Naturally the other male was saying he didn't have to help after having done so and Amen'ra was waving this off again with a friendly smile. "Don't mention it!"

Handing the flyers over he wasn't all too shocked when he ended up with one in his hand, looking down at it to observe carefully. Not that he needed to as the man was already explaining what it was for and Amen'ra nodded approvingly, folding the paper and slipping it into his fur coat pocket. And he even played a role in it? That was so cool!

Amber eyes looking back to meet the other mans he would continue to smile happily while listening, taking in all the information he could. Nodding with each key point and even raising a brow when Ri said he'd been kidding, not about being in it but about being important in it. "Hey, any part is an important part. I'll look forward to seeing what you do!"

Amen'ra's focus shifted back from the man to the flyer to see if he could have any indication of what the show was about. Giving it a once over before returning his gaze to Ri. "Nice to meet you Ri, i'm Amen'ra. Most people just call me Amie, or Menny, or some other derivative of my name," he'd pause for a small giggle before continuing. "The entry fee won't be a problem for me, but maybe I could help you hand out some flyers or something? It would save you time and make up for the ones I ruined." He offered, a tone both playful and serious in the same sitting.

Ri couldn't help but chuckle at the man's words, lightly shaking his head. He was right, though. Any part of a show was important. From the main actor, to the tree singing in the background. Still, he says this, but he'd actually dislike the fact that he'd be in the background. As much as he enjoys letting people do their thing, and is fair when it comes to other's talents, he knows that he can do better than the background tree. He didn't let it be shown, though, instead choosing to meet the man's amber eyes with a large grin, and a nod. "Thanks. I'm looking forward to seeing you in the audience."

As the other introduced himself, the mage gave another nod and a smile, extending his empty hand to shake his. "Amie's cooler. Menny makes you sound like you word in constructions." He shrugged, chuckling, before abruptly stopping. "Unless you do, in which case I'm extremely sorry. We need construction workers. Hell, just how many buildings -I- wrecked."

When the proposition was made, the mage couldn't help the large grin that spread on his face, "That would be awesome! But, only if you're sure you're not busy or something, 'cause this is really not your job. I mean, unlike you, I'm going to get paid for this, even if it's not a lot." He shrugged, but still gave the man a few flyers, "But, hey. If you're really up to it, it's all yours."

That said, he patted his shoulder, and motioned for him to follow, as they headed further into the town. Seven thirty, and it seemed that, miraculously, people started moving around the streets. Most were either in their forties, or old enough to just be on a morning stroll. Even so, no one seemed to pay attention to the man's bright smile and friendly attitude. His shouts and yells of: "Come! Tonight! To the greatest show that Era has seen as of yet!" to "Acrobatics, magic, and actors of all shapes and sizes here to entertain you!" didn't seem to interest any of the people passing by. As more and more people ignored him, Ri couldn't help but groan, and run a hand through his hair, glancing to his partner.

"Slow day, I guess." He shrugged, with a sheepish smile, "Guess we're stuck here for some time. Or, if you wan'na leave, you're not obligated to stay here."

Truly, this whole situation wasn't making him feel good. The less people that came to the show, the less chances that the group would be recognized in the city, and less chances that they stuck around it. He liked the town, despite the headaches it sometimes gave him. The people here were warm, reminding him of those he found either in Baska, or Orchidia.

The blonde before him was a gentle soul, he could tell by the way he reacted to hearing Amen'ra was going to be there. Shaking the extended hand with a firm grip and letting a laugh erupt at the man saying Menny sounded like he worked in construction. He'd never heard that but it was amusing to say the least, and he made sure to confirm the mans theory. "You're funny. I actually work as a blacksmith, so... not far off."

He'd reply with a light hearted shrug before his companion was smiling wider now, happy to have some help. It was never fun to work alone, he knew that, and he was more than willing to give Ri some needed company. Taking a small stack of the papers from the man and following behind him watching how he advertised the show.

It was still relatively early but everyone was seemingly passing the duo by while Amen'ra silently watched how Ri did his thing. A curious look on his face as he thought to himself even when Ri told him he could leave if he wanted. Of course the friendly mage had no intention of doing that and instead handed the papers back to his new ally, a wicked smile on his handsome mug.

"We just need a better approach. Follow my lead." With that, Amen'ra was stepping forward his hands engulfed in two spheres of warbling solar energy. Both of his hands shot up to the sky and the two balls of magic would float into the air and explode into what looked like golden fireworks, raining down around them. The display making everyone walking around them stop to look up and gaze in pure awe.

The sparks would suddenly cease movement and begin to spin quickly in the air as if beginning to create vortex above the citizens. Instead the solar display was just getting started as another much larger orb of fire was launched between them, creating what looked like a planet with tiny embers as it's orbiting rings.

"COME ONE, COME ALL! TO THE GREATEST SHOW ERA HAS TO OFFER!!" He bellowed to which some people began to come closer and then he was turning to wink at Rin to let him take over from there. Spending that time to cause the embers around the floating orb to suddenly take on the shape of two elegant dragons, dancing in a hypnotic dance around the man made star. The bests would do so for only half a minute before converging in the middle of the sphere and causing the entire thing to form a beautiful phoenix, soaring over buildings and even flexing it's wings.

"If you can't catch their eye, then magic will get the job done." He whispered with an amused smile to his companion while watching more and more people converge on the display. Their eyes going from Amen'ra to Rin and rushing him for flyers to the show.

Ri only cast a confused look in the other's direction as he took the lead, watching his actions from behind.

The sudden light surely surprised Ri, not because the other was a mage just like himself, but that he was a mage just like himself -and- he woke up at 7 AM for some reason. Ri couldn't make heads or tails of it, but he thought that he better not ask. After all, he's happy that he's here, so why bother with reasons?

The flashy firework show he put on was really impressive, Ri'd have to admit. Hell, he doubted he could do something like that with his electricity. Still, they got the desired effect, and the mage couldn't be happier. The fact that this random stranger, who not to mention he bumped into, was out here with him, helping him with his own job. Wow. This town really was warm.

He watched in awe as the quite literal sunlight spun and shifted before him, a hand raised to somewhat shield his eyes, but not enough that he couldn't see. He spared one quick glance at the audience, and was left speechless at the number that had gathered. At least ten, by his calculations. They all stood and "wow"-ed, and "ah"-ed at his display, and just like Ri himself, they were left smitten by the show.

When the man had turned towards him and winked, though, the actor stood petrified for a good couple of seconds before he realized what the other had implied. He quickly, and awkwardly nodded, and took a few brisk steps forwards. He stumbled over his next words, a bit shaken by what he had just seen, and possibly thinking over his artistic talent. After all, if he couldn't do that with his lightning, what can he do?

Now we don't have time to unpack all of that!

Ri quickly brought a hand to his face, and entered his show-man role, extending a hand with a flyer on it to the nearest person he could find.

"Lights and fire for old and young!" He yelled out, now moving around the small circle that had been created, "Entertainment and laughs for all shapes and sizes!" He continued, "Come one, come all, and listen to this tale!"

The other wasn't the only one with tricks up his sleeve, though. In the few seconds when Ri drew his breath, an idea hit him, and his eyes set on the soaring bird.

"Be smitten by the artist's thunder, and never forget what you shall see!"

As these words were spoken he threw the rest of the flyers at the incoming crowd, and slammed his fists together. Electricity sparked and seemed to escape the man's body, before dispersing in the air around them. Those looking towards the bird of light would now see it erupt in an even more vibrant light, engulfed by electricity.

As the people started to slowly calm down, Ri turned to his accomplice and raised a fist, for a fist bump. "Thanks again. You didn't have to, but I think you just saved me." He let out a light chuckle.

"So. How should we finish this display?"

Amen'ra continued to put on the vibrant display of oranges and yellows, the people all starstruck before Ri began to advertise. His words matched the mans display and he smiled widely at how well he'd taken control of the situation as the sun mage implied he should. Couples hugged each other close under the warm display, while others merely watched in amazement. If there was one thing he loved most, it was making people feel safe and happy, it was the reason he'd decided to pursue the path he did.

Ri even initiated a display of his own to compliment the one going on, sending lightning shivering along the body of the fiery beast to create a beautifully intricate phoenix. One who's movements were trailed by streams of lightning and fire before Amen'ra was looking to his companion and returning the fist bump.

"No problem bro." He reiterated before pointing to the magic show. "We're going to send the bird high into the air for one final explosion. Right... about... now!" He explained while his hands conglomerated to send the bird into an ascent higher than it had gone before. This time the phoenix would contract it's wings to ascend before expanding them in one final grand gesture, exploding into a massive firework that would slowly descend on the citizens like snow. The embers taking the shape of tiny fairies to flutter away after playing around the bodies of the spectators.

With that came silence, and then a roar of applause and cheers for the two men. The flyers had managed to go like hotcakes with people grabbing extras for friends and family and reveling in what had happened. Congratulating the men on a job well done and patting their shoulders and backs before the two of them were left alone again.

"Well that was fun, and it was really no problem. So what now? If you're not busy I know a place that sells some pretty good cocktails not too far from here."

With the fist bump now cementing their friendship, Ri threw the other mage a large grin, happy to see himself next to someone like him. Truth be told, he hadn't actually seen that many mages in the last few weeks, for some reason. Well. Friendly mages that is. Demons and the like don't count because they tried to rip his neck apart.

He listened carefully to his next words, and nodded, eyes set on the man's next movements. As the phoenix soared through the sky, and the clouds, it wrapped its wings around itself, exploding afterwards in an array of bright lights. Most of these lights were the solar mage's doing, but the subtle spark that came along with them was all Ri's magic, bringing a pop to the already bright and colorful display.

The silence that followed was nothing if not welcomed. Ri caught his breath, and glanced at his partner in crime, giving him a nod of both thanks (once again), and appreciation. As soon as the roar of applause started, the man moved forwards, and grabbed his hand, pulling him down to bow before the audience. He did it once, and twice, before letting go and waving at the public, who was busy trying to get their fair share of flyers.

He couldn't help but smile. This was the reaction he searched for. The love and excitement that a good show can bring to people. The wish to come back, and the happy memories which remained. That's not to say that that was the first time he had witnessed such a thing. But every time it happened, his heart felt like it could burst. And to think it was only 8 AM.

Of course, the other could only see a large and happy grin on Ri's face, as he stared off into the distance, thinking these things over.

"H-Huh?" He suddenly asked, woken up from his distant thoughts. He turned to him, and brought a hand to his chin, thinking his words over, "Hm...Well, I -was- supposed to pass these flyers around..." Looking back at the public leaving, he shrugged, "But seeing as I'm out, sure. Go right ahead." Ri motioned for him to walk, his grin fading into a small smile, happy to be in the company of a friend. Or, that is what he deemed him as. He didn't know if Amen'ra actually thought that as well.

"So- Uh. How, exactly, did you end up here? I mean, why were you running about at 7 AM? Not many who do that voluntarily." He let out a light chuckle, pocketing his hands.

A devilish smirk would plaster itself onto his fine features when Ri mentioned he was supposed to be handing out flyers. Lucky for him Amen'ra had managed to get them all taken from the man and would probably make it so there was a sold out show. So what was left to do but to go along with the man for a drink or two, nothing too detrimental to his performance later on.

Giving a mock cheer of excitement when Ri finally agreed, Amen'ra motioned for him to follow while beginning to walk in the direction of the place. It wasn't too far from where they were, maybe about two or three streets over, but that was nothing. So without hesitation the two of them would begin their journey into a deeper friendship and Ri even asked him how he'd gotten there. Especially so early in the morning.

Amen'ra smiled at his companion, shrugging at the question with a nonchalant air to his walk and speech. "I was actually out to see the sights as I don't plan on staying in Era for much longer. I travel a lot more than some people would find sane, but it's always nice to come and make your mark on a new land." He admitted, continuing to walk slowly to not outpace the man in question. His brow now quirking at the thought of what his new friend had been up so early.

"What about you? Seems kind of early to be handing out flyer's for a night show."

As they walked, Ri's eyes shifted between the man beside him and the scenery around him. Seeing as it was morning, and about 8 AM, the sun had barely just gotten out an hour ago, but it was already illuminating a warm light on his face. He appreciated that. It felt nice.

Still, the man had just spoken, and if he wants to remember anything he said he really has to get his head in the game and pay attention. He wondered what the hell is wrong with him this morning and why he is so aloof all of a sudden, but that's a question best taken care of another time. So, he pushed it aside, just like any other responsibility.

He nodded as he gave his answer, a curious expression forming on his face, "What's stopping you from settling here?" He suddenly asked, "I mean. It's the centre-centre. Here is where everyone from all sorts of lands comes. If I could, I wouldn't leave this place." His smile never faded as he spoke, and it was clear that he didn't mean any harm by his question.

At the other's -own- curiosity, though, Ri paused for a brief second, thinking over his words. "Well." He started, eyes shifting to the sky above, in thought, "There isn't much complication to it. The uh- Ringleader, I guess, asked me and some other guy to give out all the flyers for tonight's show. And he said to start early, so I took him at his word." He paused, pursing his lips, "Now that I think about it, maybe I shouldn't have." He let out a laugh, and shrugged, "Oh, well. I did my job."

As they continued to walk, Ri couldn't help but wonder if the shop they were going towards wasn't closed. After all, it was pretty early, and most opened at 9 AM and onwards. It'd be a disappointment, sure, but not a surprise.

Still, when they did reach the building Ri couldn't help but let out a whistle of appreciation. He had to admit, it was a pretty cozy-looking shop. And from the looks of it, not too fancy, so there wasn't a need to worry about the prices.

"So." He started again, regardless or not if they did enter, "Where are you planning to go, when you leave?"

Amen'ra looked to Ri when he asked what was stopping him from settling there, and it was actually a good question. For those who knew the sun wielder they were aware of his love of traveling and seeing all he could, while simultaneously helping those in need, but he also hadn't found a place to call home. Did he own several homes in various lands he thoroughly enjoyed? Yes, but he still wasn't sure how he felt about this place in the truest sense.

"With everything going on in the world, I have no time to really settle. Especially not while in my prime, but maybe one day I could call this land my home when i'm done doing my part to make a better world."

With that the man with midnight locks would raise a brow and smirk, clearly tickled by Ri's answer. So he'd taken the mans words literally and gotten up as early as he could to hand out the flyers, at least it showed he had a drive. Not many people would be willing to interrupt their rest for the craft they were passionate about, it was impressive.

"Indeed you did. A job well done I might add, some of the best work i've seen so far." He jested while lifting his own arm and flexing triumphantly to show he was joking, referencing how he'd helped. With that he would give a small laugh that stopped when Ri asked him where he planned to go after.

"There's supposed to be some kind of event going on in Crocus soon, and being from a wealthy family I'm usually expected to attend such things. I'd love to stay a little longer and enjoy the sights more but... duty calls, ya'know?"

The man's answer seemed to satisfy him. The need for adventure was something he felt himself, after all. Years spent travelling the globe in search for something to do, until he settled with his theater band. So, he nodded and lightly patted his shoulder. "Hey, I get'cha. The world's beautiful." Was all he said, throwing him a friendly smile.

He couldn't help but grin at the compliment, and his next antics. He lightly pushed him to the side, and chuckled, "Man, I was clearly top dog. If it weren't for my electricity no one would have seen your bird." He gave him a smirk, clearly all in good fun.

At the mention of Crocus, Ri was suddenly more interested. From what he heard, as in, the gossip he took part in while with his theater band, there -was- something supposed to go down in Crocus, and that was their next destination. Now, what that event was about, he didn't know, and neither did his buddies it seemed, seeing as he couldn't get any information out of them. Still, he figured that he'd find out when he got there. Cross that bridge when you get to it, as they say.

Although, the other part of the sentence did shift the mage's interest from Crocus, to the other, and he regarded him with a both curious and somewhat mischievous look. "Oh?" He started, bringing a hand to his chin, and lightly caressing it. Of course, this was all done for the reason of being a bit more dramatic. "Rich, hm?"

He then let out a light chuckle, "I'm not trying to rob you, don't worry. Though, if you don't mind me asking: Just with the name, or with the money as well?" He paused, eyes shifting to the side, before he decided to right his sentence, "I mean, as in- Uh. Do you go there to honor your family or something, or because you want to? Want to as in, you're not obligated, but because you're an heir and it's the cool thing to do."

He paused his rambling, once again, "Sorry, this got confusing, just ignore what I said." With a sigh, and light shake of his head, he gave a small smile, and nodded towards the shop.

"So. Shall we go inside?"

Hey, with this information, he might go to Crocus himself in the next few days. Who knows? Maybe he'll even have some fun.

Rolling his eyes playfully while smirking when Ri told him the world was beautiful, he knew he could ramble when he loved things. So far this kid wasn't half bad, a cool guy who he felt would end up being a good friend over time. He even joked back about his electricity being the reason the light show stood out and giving a humorously raised brow in response. "If you say so."

Chuckling when Ri found interest in him being rich, it was a natural answer so he didn't take offense or become skeptical. Instead he would find his mind going in circles with the questions he was asking, a dizzying display of words that made him scratch his head confusedly. Sure he got what the man was trying to say but it was like he was trying to give him vertigo with his phrasing.

"A healthy mixture of both. My family aren't royals or anything like that, but I doubt my brothers or mother will be going, so someone has to represent the family name." With that he would shrug and look to the shop as Ri asked if they were going in to which he would nod. Moving toward the door with his friend in tow, the two of them would spend an hour or two sipping cocktails and building a friendship.

Amen'ra was glad he'd found someone like Ri who was a good person and humorous. He was everything the man needed in a friend in such a dark time in his life, and he was glad the two of them may see each other again sooner than later.

Ri was quite thankful that the other understood what he was saying, because he sure as hell didn't. Then again, that was usually the case when he was rambling; sentence after sentence, where he forgot every word he was saying, but wanting to say more.

Still, finally, they entered the shop. Just as expected, the inside was cozy, and clearly with the intent of attracting the youth. They took a seat a nearby table, and smiled and laughed, and generally had a good time. Suffice to say, the mage was clearly happy with his new friend. If he thought about it, he hadn't gone out with someone in a long time. Maybe it was because of how busy he was, or how just how much he traveled. Then again, most of his colleagues usually invited him out, but most of the times he just denied them, mostly because of the exhaustion a day of work had given him. Art was art, but art was hard after all.

Speaking of art, he has a show in the evening, so he might have to hurry home.

When their little get-together was over, Ri waved the other goodbye and wished him luck, before starting to hurry home, to gather his things. The moment he stepped through the door, he was welcomed by his beautiful large feline jumping on him, but he quickly patted his head, gave him some food, and hurried out.

Let the show start!
