Sage Meilyr
It had been quite a while since Sage trained the magical abilities within him. The weather was cloudy, but the clouds weren't too dark to warn him of a rainstorm. The weather was just nice. Sage was wearing his usual set of clothes and his long white hair visible to all. He stood in a clearing inside the woodlands near the town of Era. He didn't want anyone seeing him working his spells and magical mysteries out in public, it doesn't seem right to do so. But out there with nature, it seemed right, it felt right.

He took a deep breath, the air that rushed into his lungs were refreshing. He then exhaled, and focused on the magical properties inside his body. He then remembered, what he read in an ancient scroll, that meditating is the best way to concentrate magical energy in your body, and so that it could flow more smoothly. So he took a sit on the ground and crossed his legs. Followed by him closing his eyes and resting both his hands on top of his thighs. He could feel the gentle breeze hitting his face and passing through his hair. He cleared his mind, and focused only on what was around him.

Erebus2

Erebus moved with a rush of adrenaline, blood trickling down his neck. He was getting use to this new power and it enticed him; he wanted to know from what it could teach him and how he could exude his abilities in a pinch. He somersaulted from branch to the next, completely letting the wind blow past his long brown hair. The initial hunger factor had overtaken him for the last twelve hours. That's why he had been chasing scents all day. One in particular had brought him to the woods, and so Erebus narrowly stalked it for a long period of time. It occurred to Erebus somewhere that afternoon that his hand-picked prey Sage, was fine tuning his focus. The newly crowned prince of unholiness found it amusing that another wished, just as he, to learn their tricks.

He decided then and there to challenge the mage. Dropping from the trees, the mortal coil clasped and unsheathed the sword at his back. "Oh, get up." He commanded-- or mocked, his lips peeling back ever so slightly as he grinned. "That's not how you'll learn to fight. You'll learn by pitting yourself against someone out to kill you. Let's see if your way can help you against my sword, and if it can't, well... Don't be upset if you never wake up again." Since he had fallen a mere three meters from Sage, his travel time would take next to nothing. Erebus shot forward, his arm would pull-back to heave the mighty Executioner Blade backward, as his legs divided, creating just enough room to drive it forward like a lance. If successful the blade would penetrate the torso of his opposition. However, the move was really to see the reaction it could get, and Erebus kept behind the hulking sword. He awaited the chance to capitalize on the counter or recovery time of the human wizard.

Sage Meilyr
The magus didn't expect someone to come and intrude his peaceful morning. Sage opened his eyes as the voice of the mortal coil disturbed the air around the clearing. He stood up with a smirk on his face, amused by the words of the man standing in front of him. A fight sounds exciting and thrilling to him. "Well, it sounds like someone knows how to train," he responded as he part his cape so that his hand could move more freely, which also revealed a wooden staff in his right hand. It seemed like he was attacked right away. He didn't expect that but at the same time he wasn't as shocked, he processed it calmly, his body reacted to the movements of the offender, he placed his left palm forward and channeled the condensed mana that was flowing through his body to his left hand. In an instant, purplish aura gathered around his palm and a grey magic circle formed in front of it, just before the sword could reach him, a purple energy pulse originates from his palm and knocks away the man, along with his sword, two meters away from the magus. When the spell ended Sage immediately lunged backwards, putting a distance of five meters between the two fighters.

Sage continued what he said while swinging his staff in the air, "but that, is not how magic works.". As he ended his sentence a purplish energy ball forms at the end of the staff, he swung his staff towards his foe and the energy ball flew towards the brown hair's direction. He then used his left hand to form another energy ball in his palm and instantly threw it towards Erebus. While they were fighting Sage had this grin on his face, it had been a while since he had this much adrenaline in his blood. He hadn't combat with anyone for the past years and the sudden emergence of this stranger made him feel alive again.

Erebus2

Just as Erebus figured, Sage was mere Spellcaster. His style would be focused on maintaining distance to avoid pressure. Sage was already well into his spell, he decided to shoot it forward just before the blade itself could muster forth. However, what Sage didn't know was that Erebus had his feet planted tight, so while the spell did create the strength to knock him off course, it wouldn't nearly be enough to force him off his feet. The Executioner Sword ate the blunt of the damage. Sliding back two feet Erebus instantly took off like a bullet, spiraling about with the blade in the air, the previous Energy orb would hit the dried dirt at their feet; sending up smoke. This smoke would be important to Erebus; hailed as a strategist in Grimoire Heart. It granted him one new advantages, and made another even more dangerous. One, Erebus was already soundless as all vampires are. Two, with the smoke now growing into a fog that covered the clearing within a five meter area; he was pretty much hidden from mortal eyes, so long as he chose to stalk the playing field and he had that in mind...

Erebus was out of sight and you couldn't hear him. The next energy ball only did more to help his case. Funneling up more smoke. What could have been, was now at the full abuse to the abyssian vampire. Moving like a stealth ninja. Erebus had fully rotated the fighting parameters of the zone itself. When he would go in again, under the guise of a foggy, dirt filled air. His sword would be aimed at the neck of Sage and the idea was to cleave it off; in one blood-lusted stride. Standing in Sage's blind spot of course, seeing this go down would require more than just magic. it required strength of will-- strength to survive.

Sage Meilyr
Sage didn't expect his spells would cause such smoke in the scenery, he did not notice that there were a lot of sand there, he was npt attentive enough to the environment. This might be a drawback to him as he seem to not able to detect where his foe were. He positioned his body in a way that it would react to any sudden change in his environment. Then suddenly he saw at the edge of his eye, the man with the sword running towards him, it was his blind spot, over his shoulder, but the clearing was too open and there were only the two of them at that time. Sage's attention was completely focused on Erebus. He jumped sideways from the direction Erebus came in, simultaneously, he brought his left hand up with only his pinky finfer raised up. A grey magic circle formed beneath him and in a fraction of a second his body dashed five meters right away from the spot where he was, creating beautiful purple afterimage of himself as he dashed out magically from Erebus's sword. "I have to complement the trick, what did you do to conceal me from tracking your movements?" Sage had asked as he landed, his tone composed and calm amidst being in a battle. He was curious after all as the man before him magically lost without a trace behind the smokescreen. While he asked, he simultaneously waved his staff and pointed it towards Erebus where a purple energy ball formed in front of the staff and shoots towards Erebus.

Erebus2

Barely missing Sage caused a grunt of agitation out of the Husk boy, it just made Erebus more aware that his physical stats were yet to blossom entirely. But before long, his vampyric ancestry would kick in. Just as Sage triggered Blink, Erebus pressed on his leg, and jumped backwards. With five meters between them, he knew that this game of catch and bait would leave him exhausted. There was no more point in merely ‘chasing’ Sage. However, Erebus would note that getting a better weapon could help against pesky Wizards similar in style to this one, for later on. At least until he could get faster and stronger, he couldnt be heaving this giant sword

”Let’s just say it was innate talent,”

When the purple ball of energy was charged, Erebus assumed that it would hurt. He raised his huge sword and angled it upright. When the spell was launched, the two meter sword struck down on it, cutting it out of the air, but sustaining D-rank damage to the end of his weapon. ”Chasing you is going to do no good, so I guess I should just see if you have anything worth my time under your little get-up. If so— send it. Your spells have done little to impress me so far, scratched my sword up maybe. But I think you can better.” To be honest; Erebus had already gauged the fight based on the first few movements. Sage was the type of fighter to press you, make you ignorant of your stamina by controlling the flow of battle. His spells, while weak, were still fine tuned for fighting people he could dance around. Erebus was unamused, he giewed this dtyle as very cowardly. But if Sage had the nerve to do it, maybe he was holding back. Erebus stayed put for the defensive, wondering just how Sage would react to what he said.
