Kazimir had received an unusual message upon arriving at the rune knight headquarters. A man was waiting in the lobby for him. An unusual occurrence, even more so because he was still only a page.

It was Dacol. The man from the other night that helped him with Dex. After a very brief exchange, Dacol explained that he saw the blue light again. Only this time it was no orb but took on a human-like appearance. He asked to meet him in the evening to investigate. Of course, Kazimir agree. He was also interested in the mystery around this orb and that vision.

That night was much like the one before. Only this time instead of Dex it was Dacol. He stood brazen, but fear hung in his eyes. “Alright. Tell me everything that’s going on.” The wind mage wanted to make haste and get to the bottom of this. Dacol responded by giving the details of the new form of the light. “It was small but still glowed blue. It had the shape of a human, but non-threatening.”

He gave as much detail as he could and Kazimir replied, “I see. Well then, just stay behind me and “I'll engage with it again.” He was happy to do it and take another chance at the vision again. Perhaps it was the soul of his old clan leader. He was a water mage and could probably accomplish something like this.

Night was in full swing as the two marched down the streets to the river. At last they stood at the flowing water of the river. It was not long before a figure emerged from the river. Kazimir put his hand on Dracol to move him, behind the mage. It was a small boyish figure radiating with a cyan hue. Kazimir stepped closer, curious if he would be shown another vision.

Curious turned to a luring presence as the ghostly figure seemed to reach out telepathically. Its essence drawing the mage in closer to it. It didn’t take much. Kazimir already wanted to know more about what it was. Wanted to know if he could obtain another vision from the spiritual entity.
Dacol followed closer behind. His voice was quiet, and his hand tugged on the robes of the wind mage.

Kaz could only faintly hear the persistent questions from him. “What is it? What are you doing? Can you trust it? "He fired them off with little pause. Dacol’s annoyance was mounting as Kaz never answered any of them until the final one. “I don’t know. But I will find out.”

The entity didn’t move as Kaz waved his hand through it like moving in water. Its form obscured by the motion but returned effortlessly. Instead of a vision there was a melancholy voice. It was only heard in his mind. Some form of telepathy.
Kazimir was more focused on it now and tried to focus his own thoughts in the voice in his head. Dacol seemed even further away now.

“I am the spirit of someone that passed away long ago. My magic was such that I am allowed to take on a tangible form. Now I am a being that is composed of the mana from the rivers and the forest. I feel it all and move with it.” The spirit expounded its existence and it was a surprise the young mage. Another thought of adding a piece to his idea that magic could change and transform.

“What is it that you want,” he spoke out loud not knowing if the spirit could read his thoughts. As he did, Dracol looked in amazement and inched closer to him. Almost holding onto his shoulder. “What is it saying? Tell me,” he spoke more pleading and curious than anything.

Kazimir tilted his head to let him know the history of the spirit but brought up his hand gesturing for the man to hold his words until later. A clear annoyed look on the face of the mage. It was hard enough to focus on the voice in his mind without indulging the man’s needs.
The voice was kind enough to wait for the excited man to ease off with his questions. The spirit did not seem concerned with the other man there. “There are two things I would ask of you.”

“what is that,” he asked with a confused face. Had he come all this way to do the bidding of a river spirit. Whatever it was it was either mundane of serious he thought. It turned out to be a bit of both.

“There is a danger that is coming. You will need to prevent it. You will know what it is when it ar-rives,” the spirits words were cryptic and boded ill for his success.

“How can I stop something that I know nothing about? Why are you here now?” Kazimir asked with understandable frustration.

“The next thing is dear to me. Find out what has happened to a person that I lost long ago.” The spirit ignored his questions and simply decided to describe the person her was meant to find out about. With that the spirit faded into lighter shades of blue and descended into the ground at his feet.

Kazimir shook his head. Pain ached in his temples. “If it needed something why can’t it ask without causing pain.” He complained and Dracol showed some concern but not more than his need to doc-ument what happened. Kazimir relayed all the rest of what the spirit said.

Dracol scribbled frantically in his note book before telling the mage to inform Nilan if he saw the spirit again. There was a clear disappointment in his voice, giving away that Dracol desired to be the one who made the connection with the spirit.

Once he finished with the note, Dracol turned to leave. He whirled back around to drop off the reward and then ran off to take care of business with only a fleeting wish for improved health. Kazimir took the reward and leaned against a wall until his head stopped hurting.
