Jeremiah Ali
Nothing mattered anymore. The brown skinned young man walked through the streets of oak as bodies fell behind him, one by one. It was foolish for Rune Knights of such stature to go against someone like Jeremiah. In this world, in this cold brutal world the young Demon Slayer proved himself to be someone dangerous even if there were people who didn't know him. All that mattered was that the Magic Council knew who he was. A smile took his lips as his cloak burned until it was no more. At the end of the block was a knight with blonde hair. He trembled before Jeremiah, the man known as the black panther. It was obvious now that the knights failed their task and just like this mans peers, he would die right here. "St-stand d-down! I-I-I'll shoot! I swear I-I'll shoot!" The young Phantom stopped in his tracks. Behind Jeremiah, the bodies of about 50 Rune knights covered the ground, each body hosting a flame that would take it's time on burning their bodies. Behind the dead bodies seemed to be nothing but destruction. Buildings falling apart, trees broken, burned and turned to ash.

"How many....how many more are coming?" blood dripped from Miah's forhead. One of his arms had a sword pierced through it. His entire body was bruised and battered but that was to be expected when you've been fighting rune knights for the past half an hour. It felt like war. Jeremiah demanded that Shaba leave and find another Savannian worthy of his protection and guidance. Naturally it was hard for his companion to leave but Jeremiah knew that if Shaba stayed then he'd die here as well. From the looks of things Jeremiah wasn't going to live to see another day. "Another squad has already been called for backup! I-if you kill m-me...you'll only m-make it worse f-for y-yourself!" The man held the gun towards Jeremiah as the two stood a good 10 meters apart from each other.

I still have Mana to spare but what good is it if I can barely move a muscle? My right knee is shattered, I can feel it and I can't even feel my hands... What did I do to deserve this?

Jeremiah frowned. His mask was broken already and he made Shaba take Samehada so now there was really nothing more that he could do but...but to die by the hands of the very organization he once hoped to destroy.... he just couldn't accept that as his final call to the afterlife. Look how shitty they were at getting shit done. They couldn't even take down a teenage boy with a few toys. Hell, even the destruction of the town was on their hands. He must have really been a problem if they wanted him dead now. Last time they only sent a handful to deal with him and Shura and they weren't even close to winning - at least not the two he was fighting - but now they had good fifty knights or so for one kid.

Jeremiah raised his hand at the man causing the man to shoot the bullet without realizing that he didn't even have a clip in the gun. "You blindly serve an organization you know nothing about..." he began before a white hand engulfed his hand. The spell he was about to use would no doubt destroy this foolish knight and maybe...just maybe Jeremiah would make it out of here alive..

Mayhem and chaos seemed to be the overall theme of the evening, causing multitudes of people to flood the streets of Oak. They were all attempting to flee from something, or someone. Jian wasn't exactly sure what was happening, all he was aware of was how terrified these people seemed to be about what was going on. Cries and screams could be heard from everywhere, and as he took a step outside the restaurant with a few other patrons in order to observe, he was able to see that flames appeared to be lighting up the night sky.

While flames could have simply been an indication that some sort of fire had broken out would have been the best assumption, these flames weren't the sort that you'd usually see in such a case. While they held the appearance of flames, they were also tinged with a white color. It was more than obvious that these flames were magical in nature. This, coupled with the fact that these flames appeared to be firing off in regular intervals, cause Jian to reach the conclusion that there was some sort of struggle going on.

Currently, his position wasn't too far away from the location that the flames seemed to be spawning from. He was, maybe, two or so blocks away now. While many would have used this information to plot a way to evade the situation entirely, Jian found himself feeling obligated to checking out the situation. He wasn't sure what was going on, but Oak had recently become a place with a spot in his heart. He'd check out the situation, weapon in hand, and see if there was anything that he could do to assist in the ending of it.

Upon nearing the area, Jian found himself making left turn onto the next block, only to find himself looking at carnage the likes of which he'd never seen. Dead bodies were strewn every which way; blood literally ran red through the streets. He could feel the emotion known as fear beginning to rear it's ugly head. Feelings of dread caused his body to tremble slightly as he started to grip his spear even harder than he had prior. What was all of this? Who could have done this?

The answer to all of these questions stood at a distance of about seven meters away from his current positioning. The unknown man stood with his back to Jian, and appeared to be facing down a Knight. It was easy to surmise that this unknown man had been the perpetrator behind all of this, given the fact that every other victim here appeared to be dressed with the same sort of garbs. This man was the only odd one out. Time to act was quickly approaching for Jian, and as the man in front of him began to speak about an organization, he decided it was prudent that he act before the man finished. While he wasn't sure that anything would occur after these words, it was never wise to allow a "villain" to finish their monologue. With this many bodies laid about the battlefield, he was sure nothing positive would come about.

With the fear he held before held at bay, Jian was now ready to take action; his right arm rising above his head with his spear in tow. He steadily held the balance point of the spear as he simultaneously positioned his body in a manner that would fully contribute to the action he'd soon take on in throwing his weapon - this happening in only a moment prior to Jian's step forward, which would then translate into a dash. The speed of this dash would be becoming of his full capabilities, and occur whilst this mysterious individual still continued to speak; yet, towards the tail end of his sentence.

With his upper body contorted to his right, he quickly shifted it back to his left; using the violent jerking motion to give the spear the energy it needed to sail through the air after loosing his grip on it. This release took place at a distance of five meters from the target's position, and before white flames would engulf his hand. He'd calculated the adequate angle and height of the throw that would be necessary for the pointed blade of his spear to impact the back of his target. If the target wasn't able to evade this attack, the damage dealt would be enough to penetrate the back and pierce his heart. However, it was highly unlikely that evasion would become a possibility, as he was more than sure his target would be distracted by the roots that had sprang from beneath his position prior to the loosing of the spear. The time-frame in which all of these actions would occur was extremely tight, thus even a minor distraction would prove to be fatal for this criminal. While he waited for the attack to possibly land, he also made sure to ready himself for any sort of counterattack that could possibly occur - either by his "opponent" or any other individual that could decide to enter the fray. He was on full alert, even enough so that he'd activated yet another spell by employing the actions required.

Something happened. Something that Jeremiah could have prevented if he wasn't so confident in himself already. As his hand raised, he was shocked to see a spear pierce right through his chest, hitting his heart and sending his body into shock for a moment. Oddly enough he could't feel the pain but he was sure that if he could feel it it would be unbearable. The Rune Knight in front of him was lucky, today he would live at the grace of another....knight? Jeremiah looked down at the spear before a smile approached his lips. This was really the end huh? His life flashed before his eyes as he remembered faces that were important to him. His mother, his father, Shaba, Shura, even Bodak. The list could have continued but life didn't give him enough time for that, hell he couldn't even turn to see who the lucky man with the spear was. Surely Jeremiah could have taken him on even in his current condition - that's just how confident he was. The Demon slayer's tears fell from his eyes as he then looked up to the sky.

"Such a short life..." he whispered as he fell to his knees, then falling to his face. Who would have known that this day would come? Jeremiah Ali, dead. The good always die young...

Dead

Shock was the only thing that Jian could feel as he watched his weapon pierce his adversary. While Jian was never one to question his own abilities, he found himself to be a bit underwhelmed with the response he was given by the murderer that stood before him - which culminated into absolutely nothing. He'd expected that there would be some sort of counterattack, or at the very least, the man would have sensed his approach, but there was nothing. Jian could only assume that maybe this man had been too entrenched in his desire to kill the Rune Knight before him, or, he'd been too heavily injured to continue fighting. Either way, the man was now dead, and the Rune Knight had been spared.

Jian made his way over to the body of the deceased as he'd slumped over, face first, into the ground. After removing his spear, Jian proceeded to advance towards the Rune Knight before him. The terror in his eyes was still plain to see, yet, Jian attempted to reassure him as best he could.

"Are you alright?!"

Almost immediately, the male shook his head and seemed to have gathered some of his wits.

"Y-yes!"

"We need to get out of here. The fire here is getting worse by the second. Let's check and see if anyone is still alive before we evacuate!"

As he finished saying this, Jian immediately began to run to some of the bodies that laid strewn across the battlefield - the Rune Knight began to do the same. Though the male had been killed, his flames were still able to tear through most of the town's older buildings. After finishing their unsuccessful search, the pair would quickly vacate the premises. The Rune Knight informed Jian that he'd have to accompany him to give a statement on the attack. He was assured by the Knight that there was nothing to worry about in terms of disciplinary action, as he'd only acted to the benefit of the Rune Knights in the area. With a sigh of relief, Jian followed the Rune Knight to give a statement.
