"Syl, you won't believe what happened!" Kerii exclaimed as she came into her room. She was filled to the brim with excitement. "I actually witnessed a heart transplant and got to help out with it! I put the new heart in!" Syl just looked at Kerii, head tilted to the side, confused. Of course she was confused. She didn't understand every bit of Kerii's language yet. "You know... a heart transplant. I took a sick heart out of a patient and put a new, healthy one in." This seemed to clear up a little bit of Syl's confusion. She smiled and brushed up against Kerii's leg, purring sweetly. No matter if she understood what she said or not, she could tell that Kerii was excited and Syl wanted to share the excitement with her. A giggle escaped her mouth. She couldn't believe how thrilling something like an operation would be. A few months ago, she would have crippled under the pressure of such a major surgery. Nervousness would have seized her over and she would probably have had a mental breakdown. Of course, she wouldn't have even been in the OR in that case. Even if she was up to taking a request, she would have shied away from anything labeled 'surgery' or 'urgent.' She would have been more likely to choose something like one of the first requests she did: delivering cupcakes. It was simple and almost entirely pressure-free. All she had to do was worry about getting the cupcakes to the customers before the end of the day, which was a considerable amount of time. Though it was true the town she did the request in was rather large, she ended up figuring out where all the cupcakes were supposed to go... with the help of Videns of course, but she was sure that she would have been able to figure it out on her own. Things just went by faster with the help of another person... which made her realize something. She hadn't taken a request with someone else in a while. She didn't actually know that many people in Baska. The only person she knew of, that she knew was also in Baska, was Syliph, but he was in a dark guild at the moment. She knew that he was trying to leave, but until he did, she didn't think questing with him would be a good idea. Not only would her guild be suspicious that she was questing with him, but his guild would get suspicious of him questing with her if either guilds ever found out. Kerii truly believed that Syliph was a good person at heart, but until he left the dark guild or joined a light guild, she just couldn't risk questing with him. All the requests she did were good in nature, which directly contradicted whatever his dark guild stood for. While her job was to successfully complete a heart transplant, Syliph's may have been to make sure the heart transplant failed.

There was no helping it. Their goals were just too different. There was no way in Angamando she would dare do something evil. She didn't care if she would be paid a million jewels. She didn't care if it was something as simple as graffiti. She wouldn't do it. It was against her morals, her code. Why would she do something bad? It just didn't make sense. She was part of Lamia Scale, a light guild through and through. It was out of the realm of possibility for her. The only way she could do something bad was if someone controlled her mind somehow. She wouldn't do something of malice even if it was a direct order from Cariel. She previously thought that she would do anything for that goddess, but now she realized that she wouldn't. Her morals and maintaining her good nature were more important to her than obeying a goddess.

Kerii often wondered if she would end up in a similar situation to Syliph, being visited by the gods and goddesses and having to fulfill their requests. Of course, Kerii was not a descendant of a god like Syliph was, so that probably decreased her chance of ever getting to do something like that. Actually, she was rather jealous of Syliph, but she would never let him know that. Although a lot of negative things came out of that, it was an elf's dream to meet a god or goddess, especially one who they followed. The one Kerii followed, happened to be Cariel, the goddess of light. Although Viston was the air god, whose Kerii's old magic reflected the element of, she respected Cariel, as did most of her family. Meeting Vison or any of the other gods would be cool, but meeting Cariel would be a dream come true.

As Kerii was fantasizing about the gods and silently celebrating the successful heart transplant with Syl, she heard a knock on her door. Confused, Kerii went to see who it was. She opened the door. The chain at the top of it connected to the wall, preventing it from opening all the way, but it was still wide enough for Kerii to see who it was. The person at the door seemed to be a simple messenger. "Kerii?" he asked, a pink envelope in hand. "Yes?" she responded, eyeing the letter in his hand. It was the same color as the bright pink flyer Fernando Milano posted on the request board. "I have a letter for you from Fernando Milano," he said, handing her the envelope. Kerii took it and thanked the delivery boy. She closed the door and opened the envelope. Inside, there was a piece of paper in the same shade of pink as the envelope. She found it rather odd that he was able to find out where she was staying, but shrugged it off. He once again needed her assistance. Only, this time it wasn't to find rare fabrics or a magical item of sorts.

While she didn't have to find any physical, inanimate objects, she did have to find something, or rather, someone. Actually, some people. However, Fernando Milano wanted to meet her in person about the matter first. She was glad she got back from the heart transplant when she did. That thing took around four hours. She could have easily missed the delivery boy and could have left Fernando Milano waiting for who knows how long. So, without further ado, she shoved the request in her pocket. She turned to Syl and pet her on the head. "I'll be back soon," she said to her in her native tongue. Syl seemed to understand this and pawed at her, a frown on her face. She didn't want Kerii to go. She gave her a half smile and said, "It's okay, girl. I'll bring back something for you... maybe some ice cream?" This got the Sylveon's attention. Despite the freezing cold of winter, Syl never seemed to not want ice cream. Vanilla ice cream, after all, was her favorite treat. In fact, it was how Kerii found the eeveelution in the first place. In a way, it was a symbol of their friendship.

"Cenuvanyel rato!" she said to Syl as she left her room in the inn. Going out, she was hit by a gust of bitter cold wind. Yup, it was winter alright. She wondered how Fernando Milano's winter designs were coming along. If anyone wanted to buy them in this kind of weather, they would have to both be functional and stylish, which wasn't always easy to pull off, but may be achievable with the items Kerii had found for him a couple days ago. However, if anyone could do it, Fernando Milano could. Though admittedly she hadn't tried on any of his designs, he just had a certain je ne sais quoi. She had total confidence in him that he could create any design and make it both functional and aesthetic. Well, sort of. Kerii actually would personally never wear his bold designs. She was a simplistic person. The outlandish, modern, bright, colorful designs Fernando Milano produced were just too flamboyant for Kerii. In two words, she could say that his designs were too extra, but that didn't mean that nobody else would appreciate them. It just didn't fit her own personal style, and there was nothing wrong with that.

Kerii entered Fernando Milano's boutique and gave her a sparkling smile. It looked as if he had just whitened his teeth the night before. Perhaps an important event was coming up. He greeted her and directed her to the back. "Voilà!" he exclaimed. "Behold, my autumn collection!" Why the clothes were for autumn, Kerii did not know, but they certainly looked like they would fit the autumn weather, and perhaps even winter as well, so they would be functional in the freezing cold as well. As warm as they looked, they just didn't fit the winter theme though. Blues, whites, purples and other cool colors would have made more sense.

Despite how they clearly didn't fit the winter atmosphere, Kerii still decided to compliment Fernadno Milano on his designs. "They're great!" she exclaimed, pretending to be really impressed by what he did. Of course, she was surprised that he was able to get so many outfits done in such a short period of time. She could tell that he used the fabrics she got for him. "You really think so?" Kerii nodded her head. "Yeah. How did you manage to get them done in such a short amount of time?" Fernando Milano grinned. "It was all thanks to the pair of golden scissors you got me," he explained. "I really can't thank you enough. They have been a life saver. You'd be surprised what a little bit of magic can do." Kerii chuckled, a slight undertone of nervousness present in her voice. It was slight and almost undetectable, but to the trained ear, still noticeable. "Yeah, I know, right?" Luckily, Fernando Milano didn't seem to pick up on it. A little bit of magic could go a long way. Even if Kerii had a little bit of magic left inside of her she would feel stronger, but being completely devoid of magic just... it impacted her in an indescribable way. After having magic being part of her life as such a young age for such a long time and joining a guild because you possessed such magic, having it taken away from Kerii left her feeling quite empty, and not just empty because her mana pool was reduced to nothingness. She had a feeling that Carnil wanted her to feel empty, so what she had to do now was fill that void with something positive, so Carnil couldn't receive the satisfaction of her emptiness.

Fernando Milano explained to Kerii that he needed models to wear his fashion designs. He wanted them to be naturally fresh, beautiful and stylish to compliment his designs well. He would hand pick them himself, but he needed to put some finishing touches on his outfits. "Five will do," he said. With what kind of people he wanted in mind, Kerii set out to find some. Due to the blustery, bone-chilling winds, it was hard to find a lot of people in general, much less ones that fit Fernando Milano's descriptions. However, as a result of some stroke of luck or some miracle allowed Kerii to find a total of five models that she thought Fernando Milano would approve of. They all wanted to model for Fernando Milano and eagerly came back with Kerii to his boutique. When Fernando Milano saw who Kerii brought back to the boutique, he was elated. "Wonderful! Magnifique! Come see my fashions," he said, directing the five models to his autumn ensemble. Despite the autumn attire, they all seemed eager to model for Fernando Milano. The flamboyant stylist turned to Kerii to thank her and handed her the reward. "Oh, and I have another task for you tomorrow. Will you still be in town?" "Of course," she replied. Her work in Baska was not done yet.
