Magic Name: Demon Soul Magic: Ba’al

Magic Element: Lightning

Magic Description: Demon Soul Magic is an incredibly powerful magic which allows its users to utilize the powers of a demon. The user can choose from any polytheistic pantheon. When using their Take Over their appearance changes partly into that of the demon. The user is able to make spells that reflect the abilities of the demon using their spell slots. They can use these spells while they are transformed. The mana cost for a Demon Soul Magic spell is halved meaning they last long in battlefields while they lay waste to their enemies.

Activation: The user activates their Demon Soul Magic by saying the word Ira which translates into Wrath.

Demon Background: A wicked demon, as capable to grant to grant wisdom to others as he is to make people disappear without the faintest of a trace. Baal has in the past been depicted as a frightening creature. Long ago, Baal belonged to an era called the Seven Princes of the Abyss along with Lucifer, Mammon, Asmodeus, Beelzebub, Leviathan and Belphegor. The suffering they caused in the Land of the Living resulted into the Church giving them all nicknames referring to the deadly sins.

Wrath: Wrath is regarded as uncontrolled feelings of anger, rage, and even hatred, all to the point of driving a man to commit violence upon another. Throughout history, wrath has been the cause to which wars, feuds, and other unspeakable acts have occurred, though it has also manifested itself in the forms of impatience, revenge, and even self-destructive behavior. Those affected by wrath will find themselves unable to control themselves, their anger towards another, even for the slightest of incidents being enough to send the individual into a complete and utter rage. An individual's wrath may cause them to lash out, becoming ignorant and uninterested to those that may be allies or otherwise seek a calmer resolution. The user must always act upon this rage, lashing out at the most minor of infractions, escalating their anger and aggression to the point of a confrontation becoming near inevitable, otherwise they will suffer a permanent injury.

Name: Ba’al
Elemental Affinity: Lightning
Personality:
Ba’al’s personality can best be described as simply off-putting. He has an unsettling atmosphere about him, that often throws others off. On the surface, Ba’al can be mincingly polite, and analytical, but often speaks in a condescending tone. He generally sees others as little more than prey, even those who are stronger than him such as higher ranked Princes of Hell, and speaks in such a tone that reflects that. He dislikes using more effort than is necessary and can appear lazy upon first glance.

However behind that, is an incredibly twisted and sadistic personality. Ba’al enjoys watching other people suffer immensely, and finds quick deaths disappointing. He especially loves it when others beg for mercy that he is all too happy to withhold from them. As such he likes tormenting his victims when he has the chance, and loves the prospect of fighting weak opponents so that he can truly exercise his craft upon them.

Ironically despite this, Ba’al’ keeps an honour code and will not kill weak foes most of the time. Provided they do not enrage him, as his wrath is something that can’t be tamed. If that happens, then god help them. While he greatly enjoys tormenting weaker opponents, he will often leave them alive so that they can grow more powerful, and so that if he encounters them again, he will gain more out of killing them. In addition to this, Ba’al can string out the battles longer and torment his poor victims throughout the battle. He can work his craft to scar their very minds, and it would be a waste to simply kill one that he has put so much effort into breaking.

And thus we stumble onto one of Ba’al’s central themes. He is a glutton, much like another Prince of Hell. He delights in devouring his foes, sometimes while they are still alive. He will reserve this “honor” however, only for powerful foes, as he will gain a large portion of their strength in doing this. Despite being a Prince of Hell, he still holds the barbaric style from when he was just a minor demon—an emptiness within him that he can almost not bear. As such he continues to devour sentient beings, even if it is often looked down upon by other Princes of Hell—such demons may very commonly become next on the menu. Baal plays no favourites in what he chooses to devour. He will devour humans, vampires and demons alike, provided they are strong enough.

Ba’al has a great respect for those he sees as fellow predators, and he is unusually keen at picking up a predatory instinct in others. Such people are the only ones in which he will convey a tone of respect towards. Fellow predators. Strength is not enough to garner Ba’al respect. In Ba’al eyes a great warrior is no different from a whimpering child. Both are little but food. A master swordsman and janitor are on the same level, and thus, deserve to be looked down on. They do not possess the instincts of a predator. They are not of Ba’al world, they are below it. But oh-- if he does have the fortune to encounter another predator, all who witness him will know it. It will be one of the rare occasions that Ba’al can speak with someone as an equal, rather than... well. As a spider talking to a fly, so-to-speak.

Ba’al is a believer that the ends justify the means, and as such, he will stoop to extremely low standards in order to accomplish a goal, if need be. He feels little shame in doing so as well. This is not to say Ba’al does not have morals himself, but more than he is willing to go against them if it means he can achieve a greater goal. As mentioned previously Ba’al does enjoy a general code of honor, and while his fighting style is eccentric and unorthodox, he takes no great pride in fighting dirty. But, for the good of the mission (his own survival) he will cast these things aside if he deems it necessary. He will not necessarily take joy in fighting dirty, or breaking his code of honor, but he will do it. Because that is not what is most important to Ba’al. The ends-- his survival, sating his hunger and growing in power, are ultimately more important than his morality. His lifelong goal being to surpass Lucifer. The only demon who stands a chance against him. And it is this quality above others that can render Ba’al a despicable individual.

With all this said, there is one final quality that defines Ba’al. Unpredictability. Ba’al has the capacity both for patience and calm, but also great violence and brutality. His treatment of women, his honor code, his respect towards other predators, all this can change in an instant under the right circumstances (or "wrong" circumstances as it may be). Ba’al can be volatile and dealing with him is a lot like handling raw nitroglycerin. Make one error in doing so and it will explode in your face. Ba’al personality can change gradually, or on a dime, but that danger is always there. And this is the most important thing to keep in mind when dealing with Ba’al. He is unpredictable, and that makes him extremely dangerous.

Appearance:

Ba’al is a being a of pure carnage, so when the user morphs into him. They almost completely take on the appearance of the demon. While in the Takeover Mode, the user stands at 7’6” Tall and weighs 276 Pounds. In this mode, the user’s skin is white as paper in some areas, but also as black as night in the other. Ba’al like most demons has a set of wings, wings that are two times his height. The wings are feathered black, unlike most tjough, he has a second set of wings below the ones on his back that are half the size of his height. He doesn’t really need the wings to fly as they are just there for appearance purposes. If he wants, he can have the wings hide the wings in his body and fly around as if he has telekinesis.

Ba’al has a very long tail that is eight feet in length and around 3 inches in diameter with a little tuft of hair at the end. The tail can be used for many purposes as it is a limb of his body. He has sharp horns on his head as well as flowing black hair. In the middle of his chest seems to be a hole where the flesh of his body was carved out. This doesn’t hurt the user whatsoever. His eyes seem to change from green, red, and yellow as they are able to stare deep into someone’s soul.

Buff: Speed
