Chisu Lau Manji

THE BEGINNING
I WILL TAKE HIS PLACE!

With the sound of a floorboard, Chi would turn around to find her suspicions were true. She didn't care, nor did she mind. When they all met up, what was said would be repeated, perhaps in greater detail. She would see the man, only to turn back into the room.

"You got a visitor. I'll get the food while y'all talk." She would look into a different part of the room, away from the man at the desk. "You two best let him keep his sanity. I'll be back with incense."

She would turn away from the room and nod at the man with an eerie smile.

She was going to let him have his moment. Perhaps a new face would be enough to ease Shura's mind. With all of the reading the both of them did to find any texts on that war, the both of them were starting to go stir crazy. You can only stay in a room for so long before going insane.

Chi would take the afternoon outside of the guildhalls. She would come back if needed, probably stay downstairs until Shura called for her,

If he called for her

Chisu looked directly at him. His cover was blown just as he stepped onto the loose wood. Jeremiah didn't care too much, not like he had anything to fear right? He could hear Chi speak to Shura again, telling him that he had a visitor which was obviously Jeremiah's que to reveal himself to the "Guild Master". His body shifted and now he made his way to Shura's room. Without even once looking at Chisu he passed her before revealing himself to the guild leader, not exactly entering his room but standing in the doorway just as the women who had previously exited did. Nonchalantly he would speak first but not after simply looking at the man. His eyes darted all over him, starting from his face and making their way to his clothes before reaching his face again. This man was Shura and he was strong, stronger than Jeremiah currently was. If he ever hoped to make the guild his own he'd have to become stronger than this man right here.
"You're Shura." He stated as if it wasn't obvious enough. Although this man had the ability to slaughter him, Jeremiah was incapable of fearing other people, however it was hard to pretend like he wasn't nervous.

"Miah, right?" he'd say it with a smile, turning back to his papers. It wasn't that the man didn't have importance, he just simply didn't compare to having answers to the other people in the room. . . . Though, no one could even prove they existed. At least, not yet.

"Take his skull and explode it from the inside!" he dared to suggest. Knowing it would further cast him to the path he desired for the boy.

"Take his life here, but so so with class. Let me feast on his soul." She laughed manically after saying so. It seemed that with Chisu out of the room, the both of them would speak without holding anything back.

"Have you something to say, or are you just going to stand there?" he'd speak, tracing the symbols on the sheet once more. He didn't mean to sound like an ass, but at the same time, could anyone have patience for eavesdropping? Surely he had something to say.

If not, then perhaps it was just a waste of time as Chi thought initially.

Shura seemed to be aware of what Jeremiah told Chi to call him. Miah. That was only half of his name but this man would have no clue of that. Something's Odd Bennu. What is it? The spirit was silent for a moment as Shura paused, looking at the paper before him. Sure as a "Guild Master" he most likely had a lot of things to attend to but it was quite disrespectful to not look someone in the eyes while you spoke. Oh well, Jeremiah easily shrugged that off. The man asked if Jeremiah would just stand there but truth be told he didn't know where to start. Miah knew he wanted to use the man but he needed to find a way to tighten their relationship quickly.
I sense another soul in this room... Oh? The Savannian stepped deeper within the room, closing the door behind him. It could all be so simple if he decided to kill the man in front of him. Samehada could slice the man to bits if he moved quick enough, however now was not the time to do that because he didn't know what the man was capable of.

"What do you plan on doing as the unofficial Guild Master of this guild?" The tone in which he used was cold and harsh. Perhaps calling him unofficial would insult him or perhaps it would not, it was indeed a serious question.

It would be then that Loki would poke his head out from the closet. He would hear the door creak a loud and painful sound, the sole reason Chi had left it open since the morning. This man had his own choices for this, but why? He would observe for now.

Shura would set down his pen and paper to give a half turn to the man. His tone certainly got his attention. He surely had no idea of the politics at place.

"Do you know the fate of the Guildmaster?" Shura began, his mind trying to recall a story he could only remember through echos and the few recordings Chi had collected since her entry. Even if the details were missed and blurred, the message remained.

"Cesare gave his life to protect a life more precious than his own. He put his family and his members first." Shura would turn to fully face the man, the spirits within drew silent, the male laughing almost.

"I am in no position to make a sacrifice like he did." his gaze would fall cold, "In fact the first thing, as well as one of the last things I intend to do is establish a council." His face would remain expressionless as his mind recalled the conversation between him and the girl the night before. It was less of his own thoughts, and more of a reiteration.

"I was not voted into power, it's only right that we do things in the right way." He smiled, "You want to use this place for power, yeah? You won't be the first if that's the case." Again, his emotions would fade, for his words to end his little speech. "If you came here for power, you'll find our power will come from our numbers. If there's anything I can teach you until the day an council is established, then don't hesitate to ask."

He spoke, and wondered if this choice would allow Phantom Lord to grow in the way it was meant to. For now, he had to trust Chi's judgement. He had to wait for that girl.

That girl.

What became of that other girl?

Jeremiah Ali

There was something about this Shura man that attempted to intimidate him. His presence was frustrating Jeremiah but he didn't know why. As he listened to him speak he often felt shivers up his back. The man was daunting but the young Phantom didn't like that at all. It was the closest thing to fear and it annoyed him. The man was everything Jeremiah didn't expect him to be. Humble words spewed from his mouth and he seemed to have only stepped up to the plate because he thought it was best for him to do so, but he was not the official guild master. This was information Miah learned from Vance although hearing it directly from Shura's mouth did do something. The whole point of the ex Fairy being here was to gain power. He would use everyone he could to become stronger, it was the smartest thing to do.

"You think that you know how to do things the right way? Huh. You're not the guild master, you alone don't get to decide what's best for the guild so I won't be taking orders from you." His voice was stern and cold like ice. Shura was in no position to tell him what to do or to enforce his method of doing things on anyone. He may have been the decision maker before this dude arrived, but he wasn't going to be Ali's decision maker while he was in the guild. All Jeremiah was doing was letting him know that. The dark skinned boy paused before walking forward slowly, only stopping when he reached the desk in front of Shura.

"But I know you are currently one of the strongest. You being at the top with a few others." Shura had a fiery aura, much like Jeremiah. Jeremiah was the Phoenix and this man... he gave off the vibe that he was fire. "Train me."

Nothing would be gained without something to give. This man couldn't even give respect, to which Shura found himself unable to fully allow himself to guide him. But at the same time, he asked for help, even if it was worded behind a wall of arrogance. It was people like these that gave Phantom Lord a bad name, and to that, he would make sure it was something worth both their while.

He intended to lead Phantom Lord with an iron fist the day he came back to Oak, but set back after set back put him in a place to reassess his options. He was able to do more by doing less. He could have stayed on his original path, but it would leave him with an empty hall, at least now he had a chance to reshape the guild in a way that would allow him to extent his grasp on the world.

"Fair enough." he was irritated with his behavior, he was almost childish, but something about him reminded him of Geno, or rather himself. Maybe through his boy he could find some answers.

"I'll train you on one condition." he lifted his hand to show a single finger pointed to the sky. His elbow rested on his leg. The eyes of lost souls and a ghostly being watched.

"You will assist Chisu in a single task, and make amends." he would say it with a smile, "When you are done, then, and only then will I train you. And I will offer you all of the knowledge I have to offer."

And something in the back of his mind wanted to hand down the mantle to him. He wanted to pass a crown that wasn't in his possession yet. But why has his plans changed so much since he came to Oak?

What changed him?

Who changed him?

Jeremiah needed someone who would help him get stronger as quickly as possible and this man would be the perfect fit. Of course this was also a method to close the gap between him and this man considering he did have plans to have some major influence over the guild or even become the guild master. In order to train Jeremiah though, Shura asked that he make amends to Chi and assist her in a single task. It was fair enough since the two would both be getting what they wanted. After hearing Shura, Miah turned towards the door and began to exit. "Done." was all he said. Honestly that was all he needed to say. Jeremiah was on the correct path to power. Phantom Lord was already proving themselves useful.

As the man turned away, Shura would face his notes again, this time with a sinister grin. He wrote the name on the piece of paper, thinking of what truly lay in store of his plans for reform in Oak.

"Bodak." he repeated the name he had written. She would serve him well, in ways that Chi would benefit as well, of course the two of them had a hand in her upbringing in the last few days. but perhaps if Miah would prove himself, Shura would be able to trust others with his vision until this council was established.

It was different than he had imagined how he would do all of this, but of course, he never imagined the guild would grow so active in such a short time. Perhaps it was chance, or perhaps Chisu had a hand in it.

". . . And a phoenix will rise from the ashes, shining more bright than the ball of fire in the sky." He smiled.

"Phantom Lord will do just fine." he would say softly.

And that was that.
