The tranquility that hung within the air latched itself to the sinister feeling that resided deep within her heart. Heaviness tugged upon her heart as she felt like empty weight was being constantly thrown over her shoulder. What was happening? She was absolutely clueless. The surge of energy that swayed through made her feel powerful yet vulnerable as her mind was nothing but merely clouded with a mystic fog that blinded her from reality. One moment, she felt like she could fly, like she could conquer the world if she wanted, if she could achieve everything that she had ever dreamed of. Whereas, the very second felt like a disaster, tearing her apart and shattering her hopes and dreams into tiny fragments that she desperately attempted to scoop into her hands, only to wish she could mold it back into prefecture.

Lucid, vivid scenes crawled through her head as she felt like she was being staggered and swayed around everywhere but in reality, knew that she was no where but in that very position she had been aware of. It was as if her mind was being played with. It felt as if there was someone, or rather, something that enjoyed the mere idea of playing with her head, toying with the various emotions she had never even known, watching her shudder underneath the torture of the foreign feelings that seeped through her. What was happening? This was all she could wonder. For a moment, she could feel her entire being drift away into nothingness as hope slowly but surely slipped away right between her fingers while she desperately tried to hold onto it.

It was a burning sensation that blazed through her body, causing pain to pierce through her skin through every pore or opening it could find. Her mind felt like it was being jarred and split into two as the agonizing slipped through her muscles, into her bones, sending shivers down every inch of er body. Loud pants escaped her lips as the cry that she wished to hold in could not withstand it any longer as it set itself free from her hold. Through the burning and biting cold, warm tears slipped down her cheeks, not simply because of the physical agony she felt, but also because of the feeling of helplessness that coarsed through her. Occasionally hiccups and deep breath accompanied her cry that had finally broken through after years of oppression. Yet, it somehow managed to reduce the pain she felt.

The haze in her head began clearing up as once she had finally broken down, she felt herself being given the chance to build the person called Xandra back from scratch. Perhaps having to shatter once after years of simply not knowing how to, she might be able to find peace. Suddenly, the tears strengthened their flow as hope found itself leisurely slipped back into her hand through her fingertips. Perhaps, this is what she had needed. She could find herself smiling through the tears but what was to come next would either bring her happiness or bring her ultimate sadness.

Hazy memories and unfamiliar pictures played before her eyes like a series of movies, one after another, bringing her joy during certain parts and sadness through the others. Her entire life played out right in front of her; moments of the past before her birth, moments of those after and even the moments she vividly recalled. The white haze transformed into a screen art against the ebony background of the darkness that she found herself engulfed in. The sight before her displayed the night sky with a cool wind blowing, sending shivers down her spine as she found herself standing there in a long, flowing white dress. However, what caught her attention was the figure of the raven haired beauty before her. Her pale face was covered with a black mask that enhanced those plump pink lips and the shimmering lilac eyes, much similar to her own. A dark bodysuit adorned her physique as she smiled off into a distance over the tiles that stood as the roof of the building beneath their feet.

The blonde was very unaware of that fact until she witnessed the eye catching beauty spread her arms like a bird at the hem of the surface before gracefully falling right off. Her eyes widened as her bare feet moved in instant, attempting to grasp the woman within her hands but it was of no avail. Reaching the edge, only to look down and see that very woman running like the wind over the tiles of the shorter buildings. A sigh of relief left her parted lips as she glanced at her, noticing the woman’s line of sight that was aimed downwards. Following her gaze, the blonde couldn’t help but be shocked at the view of multiple Knights chasing the woman with weapons in their hands. Was she a criminal? The knight remembered no such person. It was then that her eyes gazed around the familiar yet so unfamiliar town. Covered in wood and the stench of died out cigarette bugs, the cold mist of the surrounding cause her to wrap her own arms around her body as the hem of the white dress along with her hair whipped rapidly alongside the rhythm of the wind.

It was cold but somehow, when she saw the figure of the running woman, a sense of warmth overflowed her. She knew not why. Why was she feeling such thing? Who was that woman? Where was she? Curiosity arose from its slumber as she found herself asking so many questions and yet, there was no one to answer them. Once again, she took a look around. Everything felt so foreign but so magnificently familiar at the same time. She knew that she should help the knights of her own kind and yet, the only thing she felt as she looked upon them from above was simply the spite that had died down ages ago. Why was she feeling this way? Yet again, she knew not as she stood there alone in the middle of the night.

Silence was the only thing that surrounded her besides the gusts of the everlasting winds. The pale eyelids fell shut only to feel the chilling cold against her skin. The pain, the agony, the misery that she felt a while ago had subsided into reality as she found herself into a world of virtuality. This wasn’t real, none of it was; or at least, it didn’t seem to be. However, the way the wind gently caressed her skin, blowing past her hair as her dress pressed against her leg all felt simply too surreal to be reality. She felt at peace for a moment until the darkness that she threw herself into simply to enjoy the feel of Mother Nature against her skin, brought her through the portal of life into another unfamiliar memory. The distraught gales halted their path as her hand now fell, flowing over her back in peace as short strands fell over her forehead. The chill that she felt moments ago was no longer apparent. Everything around her felt so different. The em scent of fresh air laced with the stench of cigars was now replaced with the aroma of lavender and jasmine perfumes that adorned the sweaty bodies of those around her. The noise of silence had now drowned underneath the soft idle chatter and unnecessary commotion caused by those around her. With eyebrows furrowed to form a frown, she opened her eyes, only to be ultimately sure that the world she was in was no longer reality.

The large vicinity, crowded by people sauntering around in different directions clad in beautiful garments that were dither adorned with the ornaments worn around necks, hands, fingers and head. The blonde took a look around and let the unfamiliarity of the luxury sink into her being. Where was she now? What part of her memory was this? It was surely a part she did not recall. How did it relate to the previous scenario in any way? Some things just didn’t make sense. Unlike every other individual there, she was by far the only person underdressed for the occasion but the didn’t bother her. The feet of others were hidden underneath leather shoes or sparkling heels whereas her bare feet were out in the open, touching the cold hard marble ground. The gloves, long dresses and tuxedos worn by those around her felt so unneeded to her compared to her own simple white dress that flowed down, halting right above her knees. Her wild blonde hair wasn’t beautified with ornaments and it was fine. Besides, she was sure that no one around her could see her. If they could, the piercing gazes would have been unavoidable. Yet, somehow, everyone walked past her without bumping or perhaps even walking through her. What a sneaky trick her mind, or rather, the one who was in command of her mind was playing. The white walls around her were enhanced with bright red curtains as tubes of light illuminated the room, bringing more attention towards the large golden chandelier underneath which she stood. It was then that the lilac gazes fell upon the blonde headed man.

His tall lean figure stood out among a multitude of men and women as the well structured face over which locks of blonde hair swept brought forth gasps given out by various women who gawked upon him as if he were a piece of meat that they wouldn't wait to devour. His blue eyes glimmered underneath the chandelier lights and yet held a dullness that seemed to have come from sadness. Everything about him was beautiful but he simply looked so sad. It appeared that the mere fact of his dismay had managed to slip past everyone as his fake smile was enough to win the hearts of many.

She stood there, over the white marble, feeling herself strangely drawn to the man standing right in the front, enough for her to begin moving her bare feet towards him as she raised a glass of crimson wine, earning the cheers of many. For a moment, it seemed as if his eyes met the lilac irises of the blonde knight and all she could see within them was a young man swimming in darkness. She wanted to save him, she really did, without even knowing why. She felt a connection with him, just like the one she had felt with the woman she saw mere minutes ago. Who were they?

The very question began swirling in her mind as it traveled back and forth, trying to find a connection between these two individuals, and more importantly; trying to figure out how she herself was linked with the two of them. The cold seemed to return to embrace her thoroughly as her arms subconsciously hugged her body. This time around, her eyes remained open as she saw the world before her, the scenario that she was watching collapse into swivels, rotating around her in streaks of black and white. Everything had disappeared, except her.

Moments later, there she was feeling the gentle breeze clash against her skin as her dress leisurely swayed alongside the in sync with the rhythm of the wind. Around her were tall building, looking to be so much like mansions as her neck craned upwards in order to intake the full view of the structure but ended up landing her gaze upon the stars that burned bright through the ebony sheet that remained forever unreachable. Underneath her feet was the rough texture of the concrete ground that was built in the shape of tiles. As if protecting herself from the cold, her feet joined together, attempting to cover each other.

She didn't recall doing in consciously. Perhaps, it was someone or something who was making her protect herself. As her thoughts drifted, the sound of a loud cry evaded her ears, causing her eyes to widened and her body to jump a few feet backwards. Bringing her gaze back down, she spotted a black horse riding, halting it's steps right before. As confusion dawned upon her, she was captured by the commotion of a breaking glass. Lilac eyes drifted upwards, only to land upon broken shards of glass falling down alongside two bodies who gracefully, through the pull of gravity, fell upon the horse. It was then that she noticed; those two people were the man and the woman she had previously seen.

To say that she was shocked would be an understatement. What was a man of luxury such as himself doing with a woman, who the blonde assumed to be a thief or a criminal or sort? Realization dawned upon as she heard his voice of protest. The woman was kidnapping him. Yet, she couldn't find it within her to help because the blonde man looked so much livelier than he did when she last saw him, which happened to me mere moments ago. He looked like he was alive. He looked like he was free.

The woman too had a smile playing on her lips as she tightened his grip around her waist before setting off on that horse while the blonde Knight could do nothing but watch. Once they disappeared, a few moments of silence passed by as she found herself feeling happy and weirdly, craving the love of someone, anyone. The commotion of the hustling hooves as they collided against the ground reached her as she witnessed about ten or more horses chasing after the black beauty that carried the two individuals as the Rune Knights followed hot on their trail. Somehow it angered her. She wanted to stop them but she couldn't.

For once, as the anger seeped in, she felt in control of her emotions and actions. Raising her hand aiming it towards the moving guards, she attempted to release magic but nothing came out. Her yellow lightning no longer was there. Suddenly, she felt her heart shatter into pieces. Although she rarely relied on her magic, the lightning was more than just a cluster of mana to her. It was a precious memory, it was her way of remembering the person she cherished most for the rest of her life. At that moment, she just wanted to break down and cry.

Why was this happening to her? She remembered almost nothing, nothing at all besides the moment where the senses were engulfed within the electric sensation left behind by the unknown. She couldn't use her magic, it was impossible for her and she felt her entire world had collapsed into small segments that could never be mended back together. She had lost the only thing that could remind her again and again of her goal, of the person who cherished her, who was her guardian.

Xandra didn't know what was happening to her. She didn't know why it was happening either. Time and again, she simply wished to return to the moment before all of this happened, the moment where she and Alisa spent a lovely evening together. The time where she did tasks for her clients and fulfilled the responsibilities of a Knight instead of being trapped within a seemingly never ending maze inside her own mind. A picturesque torture that wasn't getting over. She didn't want to see any of this but if only she knew, that she would need to. If only she knew that what fate had in store for her, might turn out to be more helpful than she had anticipated, she would never wished those things.

Tying a red string upon her heart, she weaved her way through the crowd of people before whom, she remained unnoticed. As the world around her went haywire, swirling and swiveling, she could hear the sound of music and laughter evade her ears. Although she was never a person to admire such things, she found herself gently swaying to the beat of the music around her as a small smile made its way onto her lips upon the listening to the sound of friendly chuckles and giggles, followed by hoots. Once her pupils had finally adjusted to the scenario before her, she came to realize that once again she had jumped places.

The land before her expressed the artistic taste of mother nature and hues of green and brown were painted over the ground as the sky was clear and a gentle shade of blue with picturesque clouds flowing above the civilian of Fiore as gentle gales guided their way through the crowd. Joy latched itself onto the air as the claps and cheers of people echoed to a distance. Everyone seemed so happy as they gracefully moved around, dancing and singing. Some chugged drinks, while others gossiped. Some danced and sang to their hearts content, whereas others indulged themselves within the bittersweet taste of alcohol.

It was truly a bliss to look at but curiosity soon clasped around her as she began wondering the reason for the celebration. Much to her surprise, none of the people she looked at appeared to be rich or even financially stable as clothes were tattered and faces were unshaved and yet, they were all simply having so much fun. She looked around until her eyes landed upon a certain female; the same raven-haired nightingale that she had seen twice already behind whom stood the man with a smile of his face as she tossed assets and ornaments made of gold towards the crowd of people.

She then realized what was going on. The woman was a thief who shared the stolen goods with the poor. Yet again, she found herself smiling. This time, it being a lot wider than she thought. For a moment, her own life slipped out of her mind as she solely focused on the two individuals before her. Her eyes followed their movement and she watched with joy as the woman turned, flashing the most beautiful smile towards the blonde man before falling into an embrace with him. Wait a minute. Her smile slowly began to fell as she witness the two wrapped in a perfect kiss that displayed nothing but love. While everyone else let out roars and cheers of happiness, her shoulders sagged as her smile fell.

It wasn't because she wasn't happy, but because she was overwhelmed. Her eyes watered up, bluring her vision as pale hands raised to wipe those tears away before they even fell. She had figured it out; the missing puzzle piece. Those two were her parents, Gianna Frost and Rikkard Queen. Inhaling a deep breath, she couldn't hold it in as tears streamed down her face alongside the wide grin that was plastered on her face.

It merely brought her happiness as she finally, after twenty years, was able to set sights upon her guardians, the people who birthed her. Although she didn’t know what was happening, she felt a little grateful for being granted the chance to see how her parents had lived, and from what she saw so far, she realized that they lived a happy life. Happiness, that was achieved through finding each other. As she stared at them, subconsciously her feet moved towards them. They’re loving eyes made her crave some of their affection too so she made her way through the crowd of joyous people. They were so close, yet so far. She could only wish that perhaps, she’d be able to tell them who she was, that perhaps, they would even be able to see her.

But alas, those proved to be only wishes as subconsciously, she had sauntered through the crowd of people, towards her parents. The closer she got, the happier she felt because they simply felt so close, as it they were right under the top of her fingers. If only she could touch them, if only they could notice her, if only they knew she existed, then perhaps she wouldn’t mind living in a place like this; in a place of the past. Maybe, all the moments that she had missed out on in her childhood, she could relive them. Just maybe, she could be happier and different. However, the very thought of that had consumed her so much that as she stood right before them, raising her hand in an attempt to touch them, her heart dropped as her hand slipped right through their bodies. They stood there smiling and laughing but felt nothing more than holographs as their skin felt nothing different from air. Her heart shattered along with any signs of hope that she had possessed but she kept trying, there had to be some way. What if she yelled? She wouldn’t know until she tried so patted her lips but nothing came out.

Yet again, it felt as if all signs of hope had left her body. Fate was so cruel to play with her like that; showing her the thing she wanted most and then making her feel the helplessness of the being unable to acquire it even though it was right before her, right under the tips of her fingers. The tears threatened to spill from her eyes. She felt so helpless and vulnerable. The entirety of these emotions was something she could never get used to. She hated not being the person who was in charge of her own life; she hated being the person who couldn’t control the things she did; she hated being the person who felt so helpless. A surge of energy passed through her body as her thoughts became stronger and stronger. How long was she going to remain helpless? If she didn’t help herself, who else would? The unfortunate fact was that there nobody besides herself, who could save her.

The blonde had to toughen up. What happened to the strong individual she used to be? Why did she break apart so easily? The entire aspect that of mere fact didn’t sit right with her. This shouldn’t have been possible. How could she let anyone so easily break the walls she had built? How could she just sit there and accept whatever was being thrown her way? This didn’t feel like something she would do. She was starting to lose sight of herself and she was more than willing to gain it back. There was no way she planned on going down without a fight. The knight knew that she would have to be her own knight in shining armor. There is no one besides herself who can and will help her and she didn’t need them to. Whatever happened in he past should remain in the past. Although it was painful and saddening, the time her parents spent was now over. She was always taught by the man who raised her like a father, that she should always be tough, that she should never forget who she was, that she should never forget the life she had lived and most importantly, she should never forget all the hardships she had gone through.

Suddenly, a rush of her own memories passed through her. The time she spent training; the time she spent alone; the time she spent fighting; the time she spent with people, it all mattered. It was more than selfish of herself to wish to become a part of her parents life. It wasn’t accepted, at least not to the blonde. Wiping away any traces of tears that she held, she found her heart strengthing. The walls around that he broken down were now building back up. It felt nice to see her parents once again, but she wouldn’t wish to be with them anymore. The life they lived was short, but filled with love, happiness and fulfillment. Xandra was sure that they would have no regrets and she planned of having none either.

It was as if I’m queue, the image of her parents distorted, swiveling and swaying until their smiles disappeared, becoming nothing but a blob of black and white. Looking around, everything else had become the same. She had become accustomed to this phenomenon. What was she going to witness next? She was curious just as much as she was confident in entering the next fragment of history with a toughened heart and a strengthened belief. She wouldn’t break down. She had too much to accomplish, she had too much to look forward to, she had too many people to bring pride to. The winds around her stopped as the first thing she heard were bombarding gunshots and screams of people. Her eyes widened as her heart picked up its pace, wondering what was happening. The image before her reformed into a a small house on the outskirts with people swarming; Mages fighting against Rune Knights. It was then that she realized that she would be witnessing her parents’ last moments.

Death lingered in the vicinity as the area had turn black, drowning in the misery and blood splattered by people. The same area that she saw moments ago, where people enjoyed through music and dance. The point in time where smiles and laughter echoes through the air had now passed, fading into the terrified and angry screams of people. Some ran away with fear evident in their faces while others harbored anger that was clearly expressed through the expression of strength their faces morphed into, abandoning all signs of fear for their own lives. They were fighting to protect themselves, to protect others, to protect their home and most importantly, to protect all that they had lied for until now; their legacy. Mana engulfed the air as magic flew from one direction to another. The sky turned grey in sadness as there was nothing Mother Nature could do besides watch the massacre of the righteous thieves right before her eyes.

The blonde was mortified. She was seeing something that had already happened and there was nothing she could do. However, through it all, she vowed to never feel hopeless. Instead, she found her hatred and her ambition strengthening. Every gunshot fired by a Knigh, every ounce of blood spilled by a Knight and every bit of pain that was caused because of a Knight fueled her anger as she despised them more than she ever had. Now, she could understand why the man who raised her, hated the military organization of this country. Yet, that didn’t make her want to quit, that didn’t make her want to cry; it simply made her want to change the way it was run because she realized that if she did nothing, something horrible like this may happen again. Through the splattering of blood, she saw her own mother, fighting fiercely against the soldiers. Through her hand escaped strong bolts of pitch black lightning. Her own mentor was a student of her mother. Of course, she was strong.

Xandra felt a bit of pride seeing her mother fighting and protecting those around her. On the other side, lilac eyes glances towards the side, looking upon the familiar blonde man who happened to be her own father. He too fought with passion as the sword in his hand pierced through many enemies. His simple movement and grace through which he showcased his power was splendid. They were all fighting, even he who had taken the role of her parent. After years, she once again witness the ferocity his eyes as his familiar, yellow lightning struck through the enemies. It felt like it had been ages since she last saw him. His face looked much younger but the playfulness his eyes often carried had now disappeared. They were completely serious. The people who meant the most to her were fighting for their lives and there was nothing she could do besides watch. She could only silently cheer for them, knowing that they wouldn’t win but somewhere deep within, she wished she could change history enough for her parents to live a little while longer.

Anger dwelled within her as those lilac eyes simply gazed upon the pile of dead bodies. She felt so empty, especially at the very second she saw the nightingale, her own mother fall lifelessly on the ground after the long hard battle. As the misery reigned supreme, the sky let out the tears it had been holding out, washing away the regrets of the deceased and promising them a life in a better place as from the corner of her eye, she spotted the familiar brunet man dowsed in blood as he carried within his arms a small blonde child who was soundly sleeping.

Oh how she wished that maybe at that moment, she was a lot older and stronger then perhaps, she would have been able to help them. However, she had to accept the fact that bygones were bygones. She had finally set sight on her goals as they had become so much more clearer. There was nothing anybody could do to hinder her mindset. She was now fueled by hatred and ambition. Everything around her had become so much clearer. She knew what she wanted.

It was as if the sorting of her emotions was the trigger to her freedom. She had already seen everything that would make her goals so much clearer; seen everything that made her realize that she would truly attain happiness once she had accomplished what she wanted and to do that, she would need to become stronger, tougher than she was before. She needed power and she needed to work her towards it. It was as if on instinct, the thirst for strength drifted her mind off to the vivid blue lightning bolt that attacked her, that transformed her into something completely unimaginable but also brought along with it strength. She didn’t know what it was, but she needed it.

The sudden dependance on the power brought forth a surge of energy through her body. The mere thought of making whatever it is, her own; or becoming the owner, the controller of the blue lightning that brought forth the feeling of being powerful. Whatever it was, she needed it. She needed to find strength no matter what because only then would she be able to protect those around her. Her mind drifted off to Alisa as the guilt once again returned. She needed to harness this power and make it hers, she needed to control it so that never again would she harm anyone, especially Alisa. Rather, she would protect those around her. That’s what she wanted. Never again did she want to feel the guilt, pain and vulnaribity that she felt at that moment where her consciousness was helpless, where her body took control of its own. Even now, she was no longer willing to stay trapped within this nightmare. She was going to fight. It was then then words rang in her head, as she remembered the voice that spoke to her at that moment. Raijin; the name that she remembered. “Kaminari”
