Quest Description

Frantic panic and evading fear roamed around the town of Baska as gales carried with them the risk of disease. Lilac gaze wandered around, watching as people walked from one destination to another, some with their mouths covered with masks whereas others coughing continuously, perhaps on their to the hospital. The mere idea of the hospital dragged her attention back to the moment where she helped out the busy doctor, Gerard, was his name is she recalled correctly. As much as she wasn't someone obsessed with hygiene, she always lived by the rule 'better safe than sorry'. Hence, deciding to get another routine check up to ensure her perfect health was probably not a bad idea. Hauling herself off the bench, she sauntered towards the hospital.

The blonde could hear a commotion through the array of sounds that evaded her ears as she stood meters away from the building. Curiosity grabbed her by the dress and yanked her towards the structure as she walked through the glass doors only to be met with multiple beings running around frantically; some doctors and nurses and a whole lot of patients. The strong stench of anesthetic caused her to squint her eyes as she made her way past the sickness induced crowd.

To say that the panic that was settled within the vicinity was under control would be a simple lie as evidently, even the staff members of the clinical organization were freaking out. It was understandable though as there were so many patients and a limited amount of people there to handle and treat them. Her gaze landed upon one familiar individual as he ran around, desperately in search for someone while also momentarily stopping to take a look at the patients around him. Truly a talented doctor must he be to be able to deal with so many patients at a time.

It was then that his eyes landed upon the blonde Knight, widening as realization crossed him face. He jogged over to her seeming to have recognized her from their previous encounter. Immediately his hands flew to her shoulders as he panted, "Miss.Xandra, please I need your help right now." Without realizing, as her eyes widened upon the suddenness of his action, she ended up nodding.A sense of relief washed over his face for a moment before quickly morphing back into a stress induced expression. He grabbed her hand and with hastened steps, dragged her through the crowd of sick people as he spoke.

"I need to perform a surgery immediately but there is no one to help me out. I can't do this alone and you are very reliable. You've already helped me before." As she walked, or rather, was dragged by him awe-struck, she couldn't figure out what to do, "I have never performed surgery before. I don't know how it's done. This is someone's life we're talking about. You need a professional to help you." He glanced back before sighing but refused to halt his steps, "I know but I'm willing to over-look that fact. I have to try to save him. Trying and failing is still better than letting him die without any help." She couldn't argue with that. He was right.

Quest Description

Moments later they arrived within a sanitized area right outside the operating area as he quickly dragged her towards the faucets where he began washing his hands. Xandra simply repeated what he did, washing her hands all the way to her elbows before drying them off with a clean cloth. Pulling her hair back into a slick ponytail, she quickly changed into the garments provided by the doctor as he too, did the same. Wearing a clean cover over their clothes, he handed her a mask and a head-cover in order to prepare her completely for the surgery.

It would be an understatement to simply say that she was nervous. She felt rather terrified as never before had she attempted to save anyone within an operating room. She didn't know how but now, she had no choice but to do so. The blonde heaved a huge sigh, before resting the mask over her face and following Gerard into the operating room. There lay a young man, appearing to be no more than twenty years of age. He was connected to an oxygen mask and various other machines that measured the reaction of his body, machines that she didn't even know the name off. "We're going to start now."

Luckily, she was a tad bit aware of the names of the tools that he asked. Passing him the scalpel upon asking, she watched as he cut the man right through the middle. Winching, she took care of all the excess blood that poured out of the inflicted wound. This went on for a few moments as she passed him one instrument after the other, cleaning the one he had just used until she heard a small sound. Turning her head, she looked at Gerard who was bleeding through his gloved. Her eyes widened as she realized what had just happened. "Shit, I'm sorry. I cut my hand." He looked at her with fear written all over his face, "You're going to have to take over the procedure."

It took a lot of convincing for her to do so, mainly because Xandra realized that someone's life was on the life. It gave her little reassurance that Gerard was right there to guide her through the process and so she began. Her gloved hands dove into the man's chest, pulling out the diseased heart that had already been separated from the body by Gerard. Grabbing the new heart, she replaced it in his chest and stitched the the arteries and veins in place before rather nervously, stitching up the skin over his chest. Unknowingly, she was so engrossed in doing the task that she had momentarily forgotten her hesitation and inexperience. Once she was done, she took a look at the monitors which according to Gerard, gave healthy and positive readings. She couldn't help but heave a sigh of relief. They had done it. The blonde saved a life in a way she never thought she could. Exiting the room, she washed  the blood off her hands as the doctor came to thank her for her hard work. There was truly a sense of relief in having accomplished the task of a doctor.
