Odin †

One last request from the Bishop of Dahlia town, in a string of three missions that had proved one, ultimate truth to Odin: religion could not be trusted. Bishop Santos had been willing, and still was, to use the power his religion gave him to manipulate others and take control, not caring for what his god thought of what he was doing. He was a power hungry maniac, having gained it form his faith, and now doing everything in his power to keep that power, even going so far as to hire someone like Odin, someone that his church would forbid the existence of, let alone the hiring of and collaboration with. Odin was, in the church's mind at least, an unholy being of death. While it was quite clear what to do in the event of meeting a demon -that was, to destroy it immediately- the church had less obvious procedures to follow through when dealing with a Lich, no doubt because of how rare they were, with Odin being the first in decades, perhaps longer.

This time, Odin was not tasked with the murder of anyone, or any groups of people, as he had been previously. Instead, he was required to cover up the church's antics, and make it seem like they were doing what had to be done. Santos had arranged for the arrest and capture of a group in Dahlia who had plans to elect a democratic government, and push the people to vote on who they wished to lead them. If it came to an election, it was unlikely that Santos would win, not after everything he had done, and that was if he was even allowed to attempt it, given his position in the church. This wasn't something he could allow, and so he needed someone to enter the houses of the arrested farmers, and make it look like the church was right in arresting them. Of course, that someone was to be Odin.

It was dark in the farmer's marsh, darker than it usually was, dark even for Dahlia, a fact that suited the events that were about to occur. Three houses, three families, three people Odin had to frame for demonic activity, and he was the perfect man for the job. Even more than anyone else knew. Santos had hired him for the job because he had proven himself in the past, as a man who could do what was required of him, no matter what it was, but he was hiring Odin the Lich. No one in Dahlia had any idea as to who Odin the demon was once. And, with that knowledge, there was no one better equipped to frame a group of men for demonic activity. He had summoned and communed with Lucifer, he knew what was required, and he knew what the people feared the most. Pentagrams were common among popular belief of course, but that wasn't all of it, there was much more that could be done to instill fear, something Odin knew all too well.

Odin †

For the first farmhouse, Odin already knew what he was doing, having been given an idea from the Bishop's descriptions of all the farms. The first farmer, a relatively simple who had no evil bone in his body, a man that would be difficult to put to death for something without hard evidence. Fortunately, Odin had an evening to make sure the authorities would have some. The man was also a chicken farmer, which gave the dark mage an easy option for how to go about framing him, as he snuck over the gate into the man's farm. There was a house, lights off as he lived alone, and a barn that housed all of his chickens. There was also one lone chicken that was roaming around outside, no doubt having managed to escape the barn and wander around. Sneaking up behind it was simple enough for one steeped in darkness, and it took even less effort to grab it, place one hand over its mouth, and another over its head. With a quick twist and a slight popping noise, the chicken was dead, giving Odin a fresh, warm reservoir of blood with which to conduct his destruction of the man's identity. Entering the house, and by slicing the head of the chicken off with his blade, Odin proceeded to paint the walls in its blood, casting demonic symbols and images onto the brickwork, as well as drawing a few pentagrams here and there in the man's bedroom, allowing for a decent idea of who he appeared to be. Walking out through the kicked in front door, Odin buried the chicken under the ground so that it wouldn't be found again, and the blood would appear to be human.

The second farm was a simple vegetable farm, meaning Odin would not be able to employ the same tricks that he had before, but he had other means to go about it. The man had left a window open on the ground floor, and his basement was unlocked. Basements were notorious for hiding demonic activities, and this one came with a desk and candles, as well as a bookcase, albeit one with few books upon it. Arranging the candles in a pentagonal shape, three books were placed in a triangle on the inside of the pentagram, with the point of the triangle open with writing on it. An old summoning spell that Odin had once uttered to commune with Lucifer.

The third house proved to be slightly more difficult, as it had lights on, and was filled. A woman approached Odin as he entered, clearly tired and upset but also confused. This caused her to take a moment to meet the eyes of the dark mage, but she had no time to scream before his blade sliced through her throat, killing her instantly and allowing Odin to pain with her blood. He did more than that though, removing the skin from her flesh and pinning it to the walls in very graphic images. When finished, he buried the body and returned to the priest, who rewarded the mage for his work, and bade him farewell, never to speak of it again.
