Basic Duties (Syliph Kamae) Empty Sun Oct 15, 2017 2:05 pm

The night sky was covered by clouds, not a single star or the moon could break through the thick cover of clouds. A light drizzle made the dark street even more ominous. Syliph grumbled, he was only doing this for money, he was dirt poor and had spent most of the money he had gotten from the kind family in the last zodiac village he had been to.
There weren't many hidden zodiac villages in Fiore, Syliph estimated anywhere from 10-16 of them scattered across the country, he always made sure to subtract his village from the equation, as it no longer existed.
The shadows of the houses acted as a cloak for Syliph as he creeped down the street, looking for any sign of the boys officer kenji has talked about. They were all supposed to be about 15 or 16 and below average in height. They're preferred version of vandalism was profane words on people's doors. He slipped through the different neighborhoods looking for clues to their path. He'd occasionally find a empty bottle and ruined door and he'd turn down that street. He wondered how he was gonna get the kids to stop, he wasn't a strong wizard and the kids would probably know that.
he had walked for hours and was tired of walking and had become increasingly more grumpy the darker it got and the harder it began to rain. He eventually wasn't scared of the kids not being afraid of his magical abilities, he was gonna knock the senseless for making him stay out this late and in this weather. he was grumbling so loudly to himself he hadn't noticed the fact that light laughter began to float through the alleyways, he didn't notice it until he fell face flat on the ground after not noticing another empty can. Grumbling he got to his feet and wiped off his pants.
Heading in the direction of the noise he rounded a corner where 4 or 5 teenagers stood spraying profane words on someone's door. Anger overwhelmed him and in a full on sprint he jump-tackled one of the kids carrying him a good few feet before crashing into the ground. The kid moaned and rolled over, he was in to much pain to move at the moment. "Who else wants to know how i feel tonight?" 3 of the 5 kids sprinted in different directions while one of the ones who was on the taller side tried to look tough and stand his ground. Syliph sighed, he had hoped they had all fled and gotten the memo that they weren't supposed to be doing this. Pulling up his sleeves Syliph burst forward and punched the kid in the stomach. He fell backwards coughing over and over again he looked up at Syliph, "What the hell man!" he rolled over again and moaned, "Be smart and give up, I'll let you walk away this time,
IF you promise to stop. If I find out you're back at it again, i'll be back to punch you more then just my fist."
The kid pushed himself to his feet and limped away.  Smiling Syliph ended the last part of his quest. He collected most of the spray cans in a bag to show to kenji so he could get the money, then in a small act of kindness he filled out a bucket of water from a street faucet and scrubbed off some of the semi-wet spray paint on the house's door. Cleaning the door made him reminisce about his childhood. His village was too small for any of the kids to have gotten away with graffiti. One of the neighbors would have seen him and would have told his dad instantly. And Syliph would have been cleaning everyone's barn for a week.
After he had finished cleaning the man's door, he began his walk back to the police department. When he stole a glance at the sky he saw the sun breaking over the horizon, with a disgruntled sigh he rolled his eyes and kicked a rock that went flying and smashed into the side of a trashcan with a deafening bang. Cringing at the noise he waited for the voices of vexed citizens, deciding not to stick around long enough for that to happen. He slid back down the alleyways toward the main streets of Hargeon, the empty spray cans jingled as he walked. Syliph groaned as he turned onto the street that lead to the police department. He had entered the twilight zone in his mind, every thing seemed a little unreal and every step had begun to feel like he was walking on a pillow. Sliding in the front door of the police station he met mrs. Evel, the secretary, she seemed a little off her rocker to most people, but she didn't really bother Syliph that much, "Hi Mrs. Evel, can I see kenji please, i finished his job, and i'd very much like to be paid and get out of here so I can sleep." The lady smiled and pressed the buzzer on her desk to let me into the hallway that had all the offices. Syliph stepped inside office A109 and Kenji looked up from his desk, Syliph dropped the bag of cans on the floor, "Done." Kenji smiled an handed him the reward, " Thanks for doing this, you have no idea how much it means, I have a lot on my plate sometimes, and having a few wizards to help out sometimes really helps." Kenji plopped the reward in Syliph's hand. With a gentle nod Syliph left to return to the inn, he was exhausted and was gonna go to sleep instead of looking for another job, this would probably cover rent for a few nights. He returned to the inn and smiled at Mr. Arno, the man who ran the inn. Smiling he returned to his room ready to get some sleep, he had to go work at some beach gym tomorrow that he really didn't want to.
