Oak to Hargeon [Erebus] Empty Mon Sep 11, 2017 9:18 am

Erebus was on his way out of Oak, he'd return again. For now he had to get to Hargeon once mlre. Under the call of yet agin, mission hunting. Evidently, new things were popping up around his newly assigned rank, and as any adventurer would know; a life of wealth was the way to traverse. The lycan packed his bags up and exited the door, briskly passing strangers and heading into the outer edges of the criminal cesspool. The mysterious Grimoire knew his place was to carry the weight of the lesser bodies. He was a practitioner of analysis. A strategist. Clever at finding ways around things that others just weren't so great at. It was his niche in life. One he cherished somewhat. Blessed he felt-- to not be a lumbering oaf in this merciless world.

The boy rubbed his eyes and pulled a parchment from his back pocket. It identified the road out of Oak Town, the directions getting there, and the reward for his venture being new chances. Fair enough, thought the strategist-- he indeed liked fresh changes. He began his path outside of Town. Heading into the quiet dangers of the world before exiting it all together for the sake of finding new work in old places. At first Erebus wasn’t bothered and was actually rather enjoying his stroll. The narrow, blank path seemed to go on forever and all he could do was walk it meerily. He sighed. Birds of many colors were noticed along his walk, and a turtle crossed the fiend’s path once Erebus drew ever nearer.

The wind shaved his stray dark hair. The path began to steepen around ten miles in, which grew a frustrating glare out of the boy’s face. His eyes peeled then reeled from the breezes, a sigh exhaled from his inner chests. "Sights and surroundings.." Erebus walked out of Oak. But he'd return as always. Strength in hand as well. He promised that. "Ugh, I’m hungry." He hungered for food, and stopped by an inn somewhere near the reaches of Crocus. He had not even for Six nights. Seven blistering days he had not drank water. Passing through Magnolia and out of into Hellish Dahlia from which he arrived. Now his body was straining. Not even creatures of the night can go too long without nourishment. That had been the case in this instance. Erebus had a plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, gravy moat on his biscuit, and a glass of milk for his supper finally.

Along his ventures, he came to a cave, setting up a fire and a home inside the cave. Inside he hward what sounded like a stream or flowing of water. He delved beneath the cave’s upper levels with a torch. Sitting on a rock, wrapped in bandages was a sword. Erebus neard it. No owner in sight. His hand wrapped at it's base and he felt a sucking on his finger tips. Not like suction cups, but as if it were merging with his soul.

Erebus strapped it to his back, and exited the cave. His journey continued.

The Strategist was a nihilist, a narcissist sure, but all the same he rejected anything that just didn't speak well of his own livelihood. So when someone came in with attempts to silence or thwart his word. He quickly shut them down-- destroyed their chance at looking good, Went about his business... And that was it. Always had been. Maybe he should stop doing it though... It definitely didn't make him too many friends. Did Erebus have friends? There was uhh... Shura? Katja. That was about it. Everyone else was kinda.. Dunno. What the hell are they anyways? Enemies and nobodies? Erebus was neutral to about everybody. He usually hated them though. Whatever. Not important. What was important was focusing on getting to Hargeon. Which was nearby.

Erebus awoke in the morning, carrying out the rest of his venture. It was almost over, he could smell Hargeon Town from the great forests he rode through to get here. Erebus reached the city at dawn, looking around to find it just the way he had left it months prior. Even though he wasn't born here. Hargeon really did feel like home. Now then, let it begin once more.
