Kerii woke up to the sun shining through her window. The light cascaded down onto the carpeted floor of her room at the inn. She rubbed her eyes and looked outside. It looked like it was a fair day. It wasn't great though. Although it was sunny, there were also quite a few clouds out. That patch of sunlight that shined through her window ended up being covered shortly by a passing cloud. Kerii dragged herself out of bed and went into the bathroom. She turned on the shower and let it get hot before she stepped in. She wanted to stay in there for a long time, but knew that she had better things to do, so after taking a quick five minute shower, Kerii dried off her hair, brushed it out, and brushed her teeth too. After that, she got dressed. She wore a simple white t-shirt and light wash jean shorts. She slipped on some socks and a pair of sneakers and left her room.

At the inn she was staying at, they offered free coffee in the lobby. She brewed a cup and put some cream and sugar in it. It wasn't hazelnut, but it would do. She left the inn with the cup of coffee in her hand and munched on one of the granola bars she brought with her. It was a small breakfast, but it was all she needed to start her day. After she drank half her cup of coffee, she was already feeling much more awake than before. Now, she just needed to get to the request board.

Once Videns had finished eating his cereal, the next thing to do was his bathroom routine. After he ate Videns would always go into the bathroom and scrub his teeth within an inch of their lives. He hated the feeling of food on his teeth and once everything was washed off he felt a lot cleaner. SO Videns did what anyone would do and take out his toothbrush and put on a generous helping of toothpaste and began scrubbing. "Twenty times up.... twenty times down... twenty times left, twenty times right." He hummed to himself as he did so. A little song his mother had taught him as a child to make sure his teeth were clean. It sounded silly But as Videns spat the remainder of the toothpaste from his mouth into the sink, he had a look at the pearl white teeth that resided in his mouth. He had never gotten them bleached once in his life however they looked as if they had been chemically engineered. Videns' teeth were always perfect. He never needed braces or fillings, primarily due to him living with the bare minimum but he couldn't complain. After that Videns took off his night shirt and boxers that he slept in and hoped in the shower. Luckily the shower was packed with shower gel, shampoo and many little soaps that were a pleasure to the senses. After scrubbing his skin until it was clear Videns hopped out and dried off. Kerii began walking over to the request board. As she was walking, she let her mind wander to wherever it took her. It happened to wander off to thinking about her magic. She only knew five spells. Those five spells drew its power from the constellation Ara, the moon Thebe, another moon called Metis, and two comets: IRAS and Vales. Since the celestial objects were less well known and were considered to be minor, it was only natural that they would produce weak spells like the ones Kerii could cast. Kerii hoped that she would be able to draw some power from planets one day or perhaps some of the zodiac constellations. They would undoubtedly produce powerful spells that she could use to heal the sick or hurt and make her allies stronger during battle. She wasn't sure when she would have the chance to actually use her spells in a serious battle, but she hoped that, that would never happen. She was often told stories of the battles elves had, particularly between humans, and they always ended in mass casualties. Well, most did at least. Although Kerii wanted to be prepared if that ever happened, she never wished that upon anyone, but in a world full of magic, conflict and war was pretty much unavoidable. She wondered if there would be less if there was a world without magic, but that was pretty hard to imagine.

When Kerii finally came across the request board, she began to take a look at the available requests.

Videns laughed as he asked himself what would he do today. What else was there to do other than go on a request? The other day he had helped out a client for the second time and for some reason Videns was feeling as if he would be reliving history and going to be helping him a third time. Once Videns was sure he was ready, he would head out the door, head down the five flights of stairs, take a right, a left then on final right to get into the lobby of the hotel then leave it to head for the request board. As he walked Videns wondered if he would meet his Lamia Scale friend Kerii. Videns thought they were friends at least. Although neither really said one was the other's friend aloud there was the fact that they kept doing jobs together and getting to know each other better. They even went to a party together. That being said it was only after a request, but Videns no longer felt as if they were strangers, nor acquaintances. No they were definitely friends in his eyes. As Videns came up to the request board he seen a familiar pink haired girl by the board as per usual. Videns stopped himself from going much further and made sure he looked presentable. Although Videns never really cared what others thought of him he didn't want to look to shabby all the time. Videns was simply wearing a sleeveless shirt, shorts and shoes. Nothing too fancy. While Kerii was at the request board and looking at some quests to pick out, her eyes fell on a certain request put out by none other than Khalash Saton. It was a similar situation from the last time she and Videns helped him out. Previously, they had to stay at the Mag Drug Magic Shop in place of him so that Khalash could get his refund. The quest blew over smoothly without much difficulty at all. However, that was only for a common item he found that was faulty. This time apparently, Khalash purchased a rather rare item. Or at least, an item he thought was rare. It too, turned out to be faulty. It was a dud. Now, Kerii could understand getting tricked once would be a little frustrating, but getting tricked twice in a row must have been infuriating for a collector like Khalash. The reward for this quest was much higher than the reward for the other one. It must have been due to the fact that he paid so much for the rare item. However, it could also be due to the fact that maybe the seller wasn't the safest person to be around. If the later was the case, then Kerii knew that this wasn't some job just anyone could pick up. Right as she was about to take it, she heard a familiar voice call out her name. She turned to see Videns. "I was wondering when you would show up. Take a look at this."

Although Videns had said hey Kerii took a moment to respond. Videns was used to this as his mother usually did the same when she read. Although it wasn't on purpose she would often tune out other sounds but once she was finished reading she would respond to them and think no time had past since the question was asked. When Kerii did reply Videns smiled. She even knew he would be there. Videns decided to look at his watch and sure enough this was the same time they happened to meet every time they decided to go on requests. Videns looked up as Kerii said to have a look at the request in her hand. Videns complied and began to read over it. Videns felt an odd sense of deja vu as he read the client name. Khalash. Videns was kidding himself this morning for to it be true? Videns' face even showed signs of surprise. Although it would be difficult to determine why. it could be because of the amount of money they were receiving for the request. Videns actually wondered why he was giving them so much. Maybe he was tired of wasting time on dub relics and wanted someone else to, as for why he was paying so much to have it tested, that made Videns somewhat skeptical, for all they knew they item was really dangerous. "wow I had a feeling we'd be going there actually." Videns said airly. "You ready to go?" Videns asked, hopefully looking normal again. 256+817=1073

When Kerii showed Videns the request, he too revealed a look of surprise, either for the same or similar reasons Kerii was surprised as well. Khalash had always put out simple requests that any mage could do before, but suddenly he raised the reward amount when the situation was similar, but with a rare item instead of an uncommon one. Kerii began to wonder how Khalash had enough money to send out these many requests. This was the, what, fourth time she helped him already? No, this time it would be the fifth. And two of those times, Khalash even threw in a little extra reward to help Kerii get stronger. Kerii didn't recall seeing a lot of people go into his shop, so she didn't think he got a lot of customers, but maybe he got is money from other sources or maybe his shop was busier at other times. Maybe it was coincidental that when Kerii and Videns did work for him he didn't have a lot of customers with him at the time.

After Videns read the request, he asked if she was ready to go. Kerii nodded her head and said, "Let's do it." She began walking to Khalash's shop. She thought that it would be weird just to walk in silence. Although she was an introvert and she wasn't a little social butterfly, the silence between them was just weird and awkward. "So, how do you like Magnolia so far?" She waited for his answer.

Videns nodded in response to Kerii's reply. So they were in agreement. Luckily Kerii had not made a comment on Videns surprised face, which he was glad about. Videns thought the conversation of why he was looking so odd may be an awkward one. He could hardly say he predicted it, that would seem weird, but maybe she would not think so since they had already taken so many with him? Regardless Videns pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind as he walked with kerii.
As they walked Videns did what he usually wouldn't do on the walk to a request, talk with someone. Their walk seemed to talk a little longer than usual so Kerii decided to try and strike up a conversation. Kerii had asked what Videns had thought of Magnolia so far. "Well." Videns began to think of how he liked Magnolia. "it's a nice place." He began. "Nice scenery, nice people, but..." Videns was not sure what exactly it was but he just couldn't get into the place. "I dunno it feels kinda weird. Or not weird, rather I don't think it really suits me." Videns said still thinking hard. "Oh-um-what about you? How do you like it here?" Videns asked quickly before Kerii could ask why he felt the way he did. To be honest Videns was not to sure why. Eventually the two reached the shop and when they entered Khalash greeted them and told them of what they were going to do, which Videns could not help but smile over. 259+1073=1262

Videns answered her question, expressing very similar thoughts to Kerii's own. She agreed that Magnolia was a very nice town, but it was kind of... different. Although Kerii was generally a happy girl, she was almost disturbed by Magnolia's perpetual jubilant nature. "Yeah, I feel the same way. It's a nice town and all, but it's just so different, you know? I mean, it's good to be upbeat and happy and all, but I'm just not used to it being like that all the time. I've gotten used to Orchidia and Orchidia is definitely not like Magnolia." It was true. Orchidia, she thought, was probably almost the complete opposite of Magnolia. The whole town never happily chipped in to help set up a party. Their guild, Lamia Scale, was not family oriented like Fairy Tail. Sure, some people treated each other like family, but not as much as Fairy Tail.

The two of them eventually came to Khalash's shop: the Mag Drug Magic Shop. Kerii greeted Khalash and Khalash began to explain what he wanted them to do. "As you already know from the slip of paper I put out, you know that I once again was sold a faulty item. I do not need to have you negotiate with anyone this time or have you do the refund for me, but I would like to test the lasting authenticity of this weapon." Kerii was actually surprised. She expected this quest to be hard because they would have to deal with a tricky seller, but in reality Khalash just wanted them to test the item.

Videns found it reassuring that Kerii felt the same way Videns did about Magnolia, at least somewhat anyway. "Yeah exactly. Think you put it much better than I could have." Now that Videns think about it, the overwhelming sense of happiness and family. It was very very weird, at least to Videns. Maybe it was because of the guild Fairy Tail or just the people in general. "How is Fairy Tail in comparison to Lamia Scale." Videns asked as he thought about Fairy Tail.

Eventually the two reached the Mag Drug Magic Shop and went inside. Kerii Greeted Khalash. Not long after they entered Khalash began to explain the request. Vidnes was halfway up the shop and about to get behind the till and do the job they usually did, but he stopped as he heard what Khalash was saying. "Wait you want us to test it out? Why? Is it dangerous or something?" Videns asked a little concerned for their well being. Khalash did not answer immediately. "Well I just need you to test it. Make sure it doesn't break or explode or well, you know. Okay yes it could be dangerous but it also couldn't be. I'm paying you two both enough for this and besides if you do explode she can heal you!" Khalash said. "Now go, go. The quicker you test it out the better." He said shooing the two out of the shop. "Well if it does explode on me you can heal me I guess." Videns said looking at the item in his hand. 265+1232=1497

Videns questioned Khalash when he said that he needed him and Kerii to test out the "rare" item. Videns was wondering if the fraudulent item was potentially dangerous, as in it may explode or something, which was entirely possible considering it was a dud and didn't function in the way that it was intended. Well, actually, it was intended to function as a dud, so what Kerii meant to say was that it didn't function the way the real rare item was supposed to function. So, it was plausible that the item may, in fact, blow up. Khalash didn't seem to care much and said that it may explode, but then again it may not. Even if it did, Kerii would be able to heal whoever held the item. That is, if she wasn't hit by the explosion. Usually explosions were not small.

Khalash quickly rushed the two of them out of the shop, but not before saying that they needed to find a sparring partner. Specifically, one by the name of Tyler, but Khalash didn't even give a good description of his appearance, so Kerii and Videns would just have to hope they would stumble across someone named Tyler who hopefully knew who they were or at least knew what the item looked like. Why they had to find him and him not come to Khalash's shop, Kerii did not know. It only made their job that much harder.

Videns looked at the item in his hands and said that if it did explode, she would be able to heal him. "Let's hope it doesn't."

It seemed as tho Khalash had a person named Kyle in mind for them to test the item on, however with a lack of description, he would be much harder to find than an any landmark the two mages had had to find before. After Videns verbally wished that the item would not explode, kerii agreed. The two were about to head off to look for Kyle but before either knew it, there was a boy approaching them. "Oh hey, are you the guys that are testin that thing?" the boy asked. Videns looked to Kerii skeptically. "Yes. And you are?" Videns asked. "Kyle." He responded immediately. "Oh, well that makes this easier. You ready Kyle?" Videns asked. "Oh sure, and her?" Kyle asked pointing at her. "Oh um, she's here to heal me in case i get my ass handed to me." Videns said simply. "Oh well I'm not surprised, I am rather good." He said with a grin. Videns held the item in his hand as he got ready to act. Tyler however seemed to want to start right away. The boy's speed was surprising, Videns couldn't react in time and got a fist to the face. Videns fell backwards on his ass. Kyle looked down on him. "Looks like the item is faulty, it clearly can't make you good enough to stand against a 10 year old." Kyle said with an evil looking grin. Videns stood up. "Or are you mages all wind." Videns only smiled. "Kerii, heal please." He asked. Now the kid was gonna get it. wc 266+1497=1763

Kerii wandered around with Videns looking for potential sparring partners. From what Kerii could see though, nobody looked like they were prepared to spar with the weapon she and Videns had with them. Khalash's severe lack of description left Kerii utterly clueless as to what the heck Tyler looked like, who he even was, or what he would have with him. Kerii was really frustrated with her client because of that, but there really wasn't anything they could do about it now unless they went back to talk to Khalash, who probably didn't even want to see them until they came back with the weapon tested and ready to go. As it turned out though, they didn't need to look for their sparring partner any longer. The sparring partner whose name was Tyler found them instead. He had short brown hair and bright blue eyes with a hint of green. He had a sword with him, but no armor. He was either really brave or really stupid. After all, this item could potentially explode. In the case of an explosion, armor would be really useful.

Videns and Tyler began to spar. For a little kid, he was pretty good at sparring. Actually, he turned out to be better than Videns and beat him. Honestly, it was kind of embarrassing. She thought that when Videns took the weapon, he would have had more experience with it, but apparently not. He asked Kerii to heal him and she did. She made a circular motion with her hand and began to heal Videns.

Once Videns was healed he would roll his wrists and overall just loosen up his limbs. He looked at the kid. "Sorry, shouldn't of made little of you. You ready?" Videns asked again and Tyler smirked. Once again Tyler would charge at Videns, this time Videns was ready. Videns had half thrown the item at Tyler, which made him stop and catch it. As he held it a small wave of electricity could be seen around Tyler as he seemed to be unable to move. Videns simply ran up and hit him in the back of the head, causing him to fall over, still clutching the item. "Seems it does the trick." Videns said. "The harder you clutch it the more electrical output which means the less you can move. When I held it I was barely holding it, but it still made it so my nerves were not reacting as fast as they could have." Videns said. "Hmm maybe you should heal him..." Videns said looking at the boy who was still moving in sharp jolts. Once Kerii did, Videns would carefully take the item from the boy and return to the shop. "Works fine. Kind of an odd item though." Videns mentioned as he handed the item back to Khalash. "Yes, thinking of giving it to someone who decides to give me a bad deal..." The old merchant said a dangerous glint in his eyes. "Well here you both are. Thanks you two." He said paying both of them. 252+1763=2115
