Saewoo
Saewoo stood on the arena, as the crowd roared below. They were waiting for the match to begin. Saewoo waved his hand, addressing the crowd. "Ladies and gentleman, I introduce to you, the first round of the Martial Arts Tournament! Our contestants this match are.. Sylvester and Shin!"

Saewoo then hopped off the arena, allowing the contestants to come up.

  • Standard site-wide combat rules apply.
  • Post participants have 48 hours to initially post in this thread, then 24 hours every post after that. Should a participant take any longer than this, they should be disqualified. In addition, a substitute may also step in in the event this happens, but only at the first post of the match In the event neither post within that time, both are disqualified and substitutes will advance to the next round.
  • The first post should be both participants entering the arena, and starting the match on the second post.
  • The arena is of solid stone, and circular, with a 20 meter diameter. Ring outs, however, are not in effect. The arena elevates off the ground roughly 2 meters, and has stairs leading up to it.
  • All other tournament rules as detailed in the event page apply.
  • Good luck, and have fun.

Shin made his way to the ring for his fight with Sylvester which was weird as he didn't think he would be fighting someone from the guild so early in the tournament Okay Shin just remember that you need to win no matter what. When he say the crowd he felt overwhelmed as their cheers filled the arena I didn't think these many people would be here. Shin thought as he waved to them walking to the ring so he doesn't trip and embarrasses himself.

"Hi everyone!!" Shin shouted as he made his way to the ring. Shin felt the nice breeze as he put his hair into a low pony tail "I can do this I didn't say up two nights watching those Wing Chung movies for nothing." he muttered to himself. As Shin waited for Sylvester to show up he did some stretches to get ready "Fairy Tail v Fairy Tail this should be good." he said with a huge smile on his face I hope he/She doesn't take it too personal he thought finishing his arm stretches.

#3Sylvester Hercules

Round 1: Sylvester vs Shin Empty Mon Jan 16, 2017 6:54 pm

Sylvester Hercules
When Sylvester was in Crocus, he had been given an artifact; a pendant, of some sort. That pendant had teleported him from the capital city of Fiore to Baska. This was likely due to his signing up for a fighting tournament several nights earlier; in exchange for his signature he was given the pendant. The tournament took place here.

Sylvester was not the most proficient fighter; magically, he was still a novice. However, he had taken up streetfighting underground to make a quick buck before his Fairy Tail days; hopefully he could apply some of those skills here and make a name for himself among all of the other competitors.

He made his way to the ring clutching a bottle of water; when he was a few paces in front of the steps entering the ring he emptied the bottle into his mouth, faced upwards, and spat the water from his mouth out in the form of mist; he had seen some professional fighters do this before fights to get themselves hyped up. He tossed the bottle into the crowd. As he did this, the crowd went wild and cheers escalated. He threw some punches at nothing in particular, shadow-boxing, before stepping in the ring, and waving to the crowd. He stopped waving, and faced his opponent; it was the man he had met in the Crocus streets just the other day. The opponent had said something about Fairy Tail vs Fairy Tail, before Syl entered the ring, among other things which he could not particularly hear over the crowd. Sylvester chose not to acknowledge it. He focused on preparing himself mentally for this fight. Eventually, he spoke loudly, to address his opponent.

My name is Sylvester, of Fairy Tail. I wish you good luck in the upcoming contest.

He waited for the referee to ring the bell (or call the fight, or whatever.) He would let his opponent move first.

Shin saw his Sylvester walk to the ring kept smiling at him "It's nice to meet you the name's Shin I guess it's a fight between guildmates." he said as bowing to him Where did I see this guy befoe he asked himself as he looked at his Sylvester. I can't let him win even though we are both from fairy tail I need to win this! he told himself as Shin ran at him at top speed and throw a Right jab followed by a left jab to Sylvester's gut and then went to sweep his legs and once he fell to the floor he drop his elbow on his chest. Shin would then stand up and back away from Syl giving them three two feet of space between them I really want to keep this fight going but meh. he thought trying to stay calm.

Sylvester Hercules
Shin bowed to Sylvester; Sylvester returned the favor.

"It's nice to meet you the name's Shin I guess it's a fight between guildmates."

Alrighty, tough guy.

Sylvester smirked. He tightened his focus, however, as the fight began. Shin, his opponent, appeared to run at top speed towards Syl, right arm ready to throw a jab. Sylvester readied a strike of his own; he turned his body slightly and threw a right jab to Shin's throat, which was approaching rapidly. He torqued his body, shifting his right shoulder towards Shin in order to put power into the punch, which would also cause Shin's strikes to slide off of him, as his target was no longer a flat surface. Assuming Shin's strike continued going (he must have sustained a good amount of momentum from running in) Sylvester would grab the striking arm, lock it, and deliver a running knee strike to the man's chest. Given Shin's momentum with his run, Sylvester's throat strike would have hit harder as well, due to the two forces colliding with each other from opposite directions. Essentially, should the two strikes hit (and it was likely that they would given Shin's momentum running towards Sylvester) they had the power to end the match, given the sensitive areas they struck. The jab could dislocate the trachea, making breathing very difficult, and the strike to the chest would knock whatever breath was left out of Shin.

Should this all be successful, Shin would likely be incapacitated.

As Shin prepared to enact his counter attack, he noticed that Syl had moved. Having slid right off of him Shin then stopped Syl's attack by blocking the punch by putting his arms in front of his face. Oh man that was close. He thought taking a few steps back, giving them a few inches between each other. "Okay you do have some fighting experience." He commented with a smile. Shin then placed his hands two inches away from his face in a boxing stance and took a deep breath. Just stay calm Shin you can do this. He told himself as he swayed side to side waiting for Syl's next move.

Hello I have been requested to review this topic from post #4 to #6

Shin has reacted incorrectly as he has tried to alter the timeline he set in place to counteract his opponents counter to his initial post.

Evidence:

You are running at maximum speed during this post and threw out attacks. Willy nilly now.

The timeline was solidified by your opponent acknowledging your actions and reacting accordingly. The timeline would be locked from this very moment. Instead of acting accordingly you went back to alter your inital actions that were already acknowledged by your opponent which is a no no.

This was the incorrect way to react because you completely omitted your initial actions thus trying to react to a reaction by going back on what you did which is bad. Because by doing that Sylvester would have never done his counter attack. So by his Sylvester gets his actions on you for your improper reaction and usage of the time line have a great day.

Round 1: Sylvester vs Shin Empty Sun Jan 22, 2017 12:52 am

Sylvester Hercules
Sylvester was announced the winner. Perhaps it was luck that his fight had gone so smoothly; he anticipated that his opponents in the future would prove to be much more challenging. It was important that he remained level-headed, and did not get too cocky after this fight. That could cost him.

However, living in the moment, Sylvester reveled in his victory. He had scored a big victory in front of a rather large, noisy crowd, and it was time to reap the rewards. He waved over an attendant and asked for a bottle of water. Once he received the bottle, he uncapped it and emptied half of it in his mouth. Standing in the middle of the ring, he raised his arms in a victory position, faced the heavens, and spat the water out once again in a thin mist. The crowd went wild, chanting his name, as he drank the rest of the liquid and exited the ring.
