Ah, the gym... Frankly, Alisa never came by nearly as much as most people gave her credit for. She'd much rather tend to her own strict training regiments, often jogging miles by herself around town she was in before ending her sessions at some secluded spot that struck her fancy. At that same time, the whimsical lithomancer also liked mixing things up every so often. Especially when it came to training, fixed routines could easily lead to overspecialization, which would inevitably spell defeat down the line.

"Hmmm... I wonder what I'll find here...", maybe hardened warriors ready to take on the invasion to come, or instead mere hopeful wannabes who should have already evacuated. Resting a hand on her hip, she examined the place for only a couple seconds before finally venturing inside

Right away she found herself surrounded by a fit, athletic atmosphere, the clanking of metal weights as they rose and fell, the whapping of fists against... Rather refreshing~... Or perhaps that was just the air conditioning, providing a measure of relief from the swealtering hit of the white city in the late spring.

With the threat of battle looming on the horizon, the Gym, like anywhere else in Astera, looking significantly less populated than Alisa imagined it otherwise might, and yet the graceful amazon of Blue Pegasus wore her insignia with pride, drawing onlooker's eyes towards the lean, well drawn outlines of her abs, in stark contrast with her full, curvaceous physique. The slick sheen of sweat clinging to her smooth, alabaster skin evidenced the manner of warm up she'd gone through, yet hardly hinted at the sheer amount of it. Taking pride in her endurance, any run shorter than an hour hardly even qualified as warm up... Taking a towel with her on the way in, she wiped some of the excess sweat of her forehead and inspected her surroundings, taking in the handful other gymgoers she found there... So far, she'd yet to spot anybody who warranted a second look, and instead focused on the exercise material instead:

"Hmmm, not too shabby~...", she noted, hand on her hip as she inspected the magic weighted barbell. She seldom came to gyms like this and even when she did, she only exercised in the large, cumbersome machines once in a blue moon. At this point she saw no need for training wheels and instead, focused almost entirely on free weights, training her posture as much as her strength. Noting the dial on the weights, she tried turning one and immediately noticed the added pressure on the cleverly reinforced stands, "Gravity magic hmm... Now that... That is a nice touch~"

Manzo

The feeling of sweat dripping down your brow, and the burning sensation from pushing yourself to your limits. This is what it meant to truly be alive, and test yourself. In the mind of Manzo, there was nothing like it. Nothing could truly compare to, and that was euphoric high he was chasing today. Manzo walked into the gym with his bag over his shoulder, for there was nothing worse than coming unprepared to actuall get some work in.

He walked over to the locker he had designated for himself in the mens side and began to change into his workout gear. Which consisted of running shoes, compression pants, as well as shorts and a tank top that was very breathable. While this wasn't normally the case, his guild tattoo was on full display for the world to see. It was all that most people would get to know about him.

Though truthfully it was hard to miss, specifically his look, all black, flowing black hair, as well as a blue Pegasus guild mark. Most people only knew him by his title. The Stormcaller of blue Pegasus. Even now he could his whispers with his name mixed in, he had become one of the more famous members of his guild, but mainly due to his prowess with lightning magic and nothing else.

He took his place at the dead lift station, by a raven haired woman. He was in his own little world at this point, the only thing he was truly focused on was the grind of the workout he was going to embark on. That's all that was filling his head.

Alisa spared the good looking male but a cursory glance as he approached, smiling cooly before returning the whole of her attention to her exercise. Alas, she didn't immediately notice the stamp on his torso matching the one on her exposed midriff, instead focusing on the mirror in front of her. After all, that enhancement on the barbells had very much piqued her interest... So, first things first, hair: Standing before her own reflection, she couldn't help but admire it, following every motion as she held her long, flowing dark hair in a high ponytail using the dark band around her wrist.

Next, she approached and crouched beneath the heavily looking barbell, letting it rest below her nape, gripping the heavy metal bar evenly with both hands... And finally, lift. Brow furrowing, teeth gritting as she slowly pushed her legs upright,

"Hnnngh....!", only the start really drew some hint of a strain from the athletic sculptress, her toned muscles tightening under the tight confines of her sportswear as she rose up, then down, watching her posture the whole way, huffing slightly even as that faint smile widened, "Not... bad~..."

Not bad indeed... Only one rep in and Alisa quickly noticed how the gravity magic enchantment on the metal more than quintupled what would already be a stupendous amount of weight. She made it look easy, really; even as a few glistening trickles of sweat started dripping liberally down her back, anybody who watched might easily underestimate the amount of weight Alisa had on her back, though a careful look at the tatami under her feet hinted the sheer amount of pressure exerted.

Manzo

After several reps at the dead lift station, Manzo had completed his set for the day on that particular station. From there he was go over to the speed bag where he would work on his concentration. As he began to do so, sparks began to fly from his fists, making contact with the speed bag created sounds likened to lightning striking and thunder crashing.

Manzo was lost in his own little world, not truly paying attention to how hard he was hitting the speed bag, until it broke off the station and went flying into the wall creating a large crater. Manzo rubbed the back of his head, this was the first time something that this had happened to him when training. Must have just been faulty equipment, or so he thought.

Before he could get up to the counter to explain exactly what happened. The gyms manager was right on his ass. Furious with the man in black for the property damage. Though he did understand why such a thing would make him upset, kinda hard to get over it when you it's your job to keep things up and running.

"Sorry about that, send the bill to blue pegasus, with the name Manzo on it. I'll have it taken care."

It took her spotting that conspicuous Pegasus mark on the man's body to pay him a bit more attention than before, but mere cursory glances inbetween each rep, her brow raising slightly as she watched him casually demolish a poor, helpless punching bag. That is interesting... All this time Alisa made it a point to remember the faces of every powerful member of her own guild at least, and now here she stood next to one whose name she simply didn't recognize. Thankfully, the man himself answered the question for her... Now... That's a name she hadn't heard in a while; one of the bigger names in the whole guild actually, perhaps in line with Finn or Esperia. That alone warranted a measure of curiosity towards the dark haired brawler, though nothing quite piqued her interest as much as the nonchalance with which he pinned the bill for his damages on the guild:

"...How kind of you~", noted Alisa, walking up to the pair with that playful, teasing smile on her face as she rubbed towel around her neck and upper body, "I guess that's one way of letting us know you're doing well, but...", hand reaching for her chin, Alisa's brow rose as she mused on some alternatives, "When people asked you to send letters, they probably had something else mind~?"

As amusing as it might be to learn what her fellow guild members were up to from their respective tabs, Alisa didn't exactly care; after all, the guild wasn't so poor they couldn't afford one or two punching bags and a fair number of extravagancies. She always made it a fair point of paying for her own, but alas, she had lined her bank account years ago, and no longer needed any help in that regard:

"In any case, good to finally meet the famous Manzo.", spoke the sculptress, leaving her towel draped around her shoulder and offering her lone wandering guildmate a hand, "Alisa. A pleasure~"

Manzo

Manzo turned to face the dark haired woman. A small smile crept across his face. It had been a long time since he had seen this sorceress. She hadn't yet grown into the sizable features she now touted over people. They were both just children the last time they had seen one another. It had been around 7 years since that time. Oh how time had passed since then. The young man who hadn't grown into his power, and the young woman who hadn't grown into her body. What a strange pair the two of them made.

"Well, well, if it isn't little Ali." He laughed to himself. She hadn't changed much since then, not in personality at least. She had always been lewd with her dress and mannerism. But at least now that she was a woman it was less off putting to be around.

"Well, I figure since I haven't been home in 7 years I should at least let you all know I haven't died out in a field somewhere." They should have known if something like that had occurred news would have spread much faster than if he was still alive and kicking. Truthfully the man in black was just living his life, these were the terms of the agreement with Blue Pegasus upon his initial hire as a mercenary when he was a child. Though not even Alisa would know anything about that closed door deal.

Then again so much time had passed it was possible that it was common knowledge among the more powerful mages, though Manzo hadn't been a part of that group in years. He had lost almost all of his certification and fame with the magic council, and his former rank to be sure.

His choice of words did make her brow raise, for nobody had called her that in ages. It certainly felt like forever, even though she'd joined the guild no more than five years ago, a lot had indeed changed since then. Of course, some people changed more than others:

"So thoughtful~", she could only chuckle at his greeting, returning his cheekiness in kind. Granted, she'd actually barely even seen the man as a member of the guild, though knew him well enough by name if little else, "Indeed, I suppose if you were to send a letter, people might get suspicious~ Who is this person and what have they done to Manzo?"

Twirling her finger as she spoke, the lithomancer clearly wasn't shy about poking him on the one thing they no doubt agreed on the most. They did have a fair bit in common, starting with said penchant for loneliness; alas, such common ground hardly gives way to deep bonds, though it didn't stop her respecting the man for his strength, resting a hand on her hip:

"So, what in the world have you been up to~?", inquired the sculptress, wondering just how much he'd actually share. Men like him prize their privacy a great deal, though her raised eyebrow hinted at her curiosity, "It's been years since I last saw you around the guild."

In the end, Alisa cared little for how or what the magic council certified, for their views were often bogged down in politics, which, albeit necessary, seldom gave way to clear, well informed views... Though she had no knowledge of whatever deals may have happened in the background, that stamp on his chest mattered more than all of it put together.

Manzo

Alisa had grown into a real beauty, making her somewhat stereotypical of the women in blue Pegasus, though he actually knew more of her than many of the other members of the guild, though that didn't say much. A guild that only prided themselves on looks rarely attracted people with substance. Though Alisa was a far cry from the run of the mill member, she took as much pride in her ability as she did in her looks, that's what made her compelling, at least to this man. Though while most men saw her as a conquest Manzo only saw her for what she truly was. A comrade in arms, of the same family as he.

Though as to her request to know what he had been up to all these years was a tricky question. Manzo wondered how much their master had kept from the others. Alisa was one of the most trusted members of the guild, but even their master wasn't trusting enough to let loose the deal that had been struck with the Joyan embassy all those years ago.
Though seeing how the world was turning out, it was of no consequence to tell Alisa what was actually up.

"I've been doing my job. Staying away from the guild, protecting all of you from the shadows, as was my given mission."

The expression in his face went from friendly to cold, the more familiar look Alisa would be able to identify, not the facial expression, but the eyes. She had only seen his face once, and that was years ago, but the eyes, eyes never change, the window to the soul are endless, and only tell truth. Eyes cannot lie, no matter how much one would hope they could.

WORDS: 320 | TAG: @Manzo | SPORTSWEAR

For Alisa, it really wasn't so much a matter of stereotype; even though she always had body confidence to spare, presenting herself as the best she could be was indeed one of the Pegasus tennets she'd taken most to, seeing as it only one small piece in that ideal of self perfection she'd spent so long reaching for, and had come dreadfully close to... As far as raw power and physical fitness was concerned, few in Fiore actually came close and indeed, Alisa hadn't many of them. Manzo was perhaps one of the precious few who she could yet fight seriously on the field of battle, at least, his reputation said as much... Not that they'd ever actually had a proper spar to put that to the test...

"Quite frankly, I feel the shadows are mostly overrated nowadays...", noted the sculptress, nodding as she saw that look, thinking back to the very king of Fiore who'd started out as a dark mage, butchering whatever enemies he found in his way. Just like him, Nerva and his inquisition had very much proved it was quite possible to do all the dirty work in broad daylight. Even Alisa was never so conspicuous, "Though for what it's worth, I'm glad you haven't drowned in them yet. The shadows are... Very easy to lose oneself in..."

The kind of appeal to be found in anonymity... Alisa knew it all too well, and yet she could only smile, understandingly if anything, for she too knew how much easier it was to follow your own path away for prying eyes. But with the unrest the past few years had brought along, nobody seemed to think they needed cloak and dagger to do whatever in the name of their country or whatever else... Why should Blue Pegasus be any different...? That said, what she felt in her heart and shared with her guildmates was indeed quite different from what her rational mind recognized as ideal for the country she lived in...

WORDS: 241 | TAG: @Alisa

Funny, she had no clue just how soaked in shadows he was. How far he had plunged himself into darkness. For what, a guild that had certainly forgotten about him? No, he did this for himself, because he too had need for the shadows. Protecting his own guild was just part of it unfortunately, He did wish to be rid of those shackles, but he could not betray the man who had given him his chance at freedom. Only once Belladonna told him it was time for him to go would he leave. Until then, he was to remain, as was his promise.

"Truthfully speaking, I am lost in darkness. Only the light of the guild illuminates the way for me. For a time I thought that was fine. But now, I need something more." Manzo had never truly opened up to someone like this in quite some time. It did not matter if Alisa responded, or if she even cared, his words were his truth and his own, and that truthfully was all that mattered to him in this moment. Finally telling his own truth. Living it in plain sight, maybe that was his first step to removing himself from the shadows. Or maybe it was a desperate mans cry for help. Who was to know, not even he truly knew.

"Tell me though, how is everyone back home. Has anything changed in my near decade long absence?"

Hearing his words, she could only cross her arms, brow furrowing with a palpable hint of concern. She never actually knew Manzo too well beyond seeing him as a prodigy like herself, one of the few she could possibly fight evenly. She knew of only a few handful other fighters who could claim such a feat, and most of them were in her guild.

"You've been doing that job too long clearly...", Alisa shook her head, rubbing her temple as she knew too well how easy it was to lose oneself in the shadows, far more so than to find one's way back, "What you need is some time off~ Vacations if you will... You need them."

The guild had it's ups and downs really... Lance's murder at the hands of Grimoire Heart was perhaps the lowest of the lows, and even know Alisa could only grit her teeth, not knowing which was worse... That none of them had managed to protect their master, or knowing that if they tried they would have likely all died too. In the end she never found his muderer, she didn't even know if they survived the civil war.

"Belladonna took over as Guildmaster since Lance's death, Finn and Snow have all but left... The guild itself though... We're as strong as ever, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.", that cool faint smile returned quickly enough, for Alisa took pride in their ability to constantly reach higher, and use their failures as fuel to grow stronger and prevent them happening again.

Manzo

WORDS: 504 | TAG: @Alisa

Alisa did have a point, maybe he should consider taking a vacation. Though that's not something he had ever truly considered. What exactly would he do? He had buried so much of himself during these times in the shadow. Maybe now was the time to finally shed this skin of his and finally return to a form that was truly his. His current form was one that he had created over years of being a lurker if you will. Years of being a shadow. Perhaps Blue Pegasus no longer needed him as a shadow. Maybe it was time to return to the forefront.

Alisa dropped a bomb on him with her next tidbit of information, he was not aware that Lance had died. The man who gave him the original order to be a shadow. It was over, it was finally over. A small smile had crept onto the face of Manzo, which would probably be a little off puting for Alisa. Though he knew Lance was a good man, and to a degree he was a tad bit sad to hear of the mans passing. More so he was sad for his guild mates more than anything. But this was the best news he could have hoped for.

With a snap of his fingers, his appearance had changed back to his original look. His raven hair shifted to silvery-blue, his black eyes turned to red with a black pupil. His slender build, shifted to a muscular one, as well as gaining a few more inches of height. No one had seen this form before. No one had seen the look his father gave him, the eyes imparted on him by his mother. It was time to wear the name Mattori with pride again. Though something he didn't take into account was the ripping off of his old clothes due to his change in form.

"Well shit, that's embarrassing. Let's just fix that real quick." He said with a chuckle as he snapped his fingers again. Attire left to him by his old master was finally brought out. His standard outfit consists of a white yukata with a blue swirl pattern on the bottom and at the end of the sleeves, worn so that his arm only goes through the left sleeve and the right half droops down over his obi. Over this he wears a black belt buckled so that there is leftover dangling from the buckle, from which his bokutō Lake Toya hangs. Underneath, he wears a black red-lined shirt with a popped collar and black pants. He also wears knee-high black boots, buckled at the top and above his foot, which appear to add about half an inch to his height. All in all, his outfit suggests an air of laziness and may be a reflection of Manzo's own personal sense of style.

"That's a lot to take in Ali, what do you say to getting out of here and talking more about this over a drink or something to eat?"

WORDS: 380 | TAG: @Manzo | SPORTSWEAR

It should prove challenging for him at first and yet despite the playful tone of her words, Alisa knew Manzo would understand the frankness behind it. Sure, one could defenitely call it noble, to be willing to do a whole guild's dirty work for the sake of everyone else, and yet for how long can one realistically walk around the shadows and filth none others dare handle, before becoming inevitably lost in them? She wouldn't wish that on anybody she called a guildmate, let alone a friend.

Indeed watching him laugh about it had her frowning slightly, though she knew everyone grieved in different ways. Enough time had passed that she didn't particularly care, even if that didn't stop her desiring to find the enemies who did it once and for all... Right now, with a demon attack looming on the horizon, she had other priorities, and with a guildmate she hadn't seen in years standing before her, she had more immediate concerns on her mind. She had no clue what manner of dealings or arrangements he may have had with Lance, but Alisa could tell something change, as if these news liberated him from some contractual binding he never spoke of. And yet her eyes went wide the moment he transformed with a mere snap of a finger, almost as baffling as the state the transformation left him in:

"My, how indecent~", teased the sculptress, brow raising slightly, chuckling gracefully as a hand raised over her lips, "And here I had you pegged for a man who prized his discretion~"

She, on the other hand, prided herself in her elegance, and wouldn't really oggle a naked man even as he accidentally stripped in front of her - even if she couldn't help poking him for the contrast between his showy transformation and his secretive life. Granted, seeing the style he chose immediately after almost felt as though he'd truly taken her words to heart, a laid back style far more befitting of his cool:

"The thought did cross my mind~ Neither of us got much training done, but I suppose catching up takes precendence.", she nodded towards the outside of the gym, knowing that for all the threats of demon invasion looming on the horizon, they'd most certainly find themselves a restaurant or some place to grab lunch in.

"Don't get too bent out shape Ali, i'll be sure to give you a thorough workout later." He said with a laugh, knowing the queen of lewd herself, she would more than likely take that a completely different way. But regardless Manzo could care less, he knew what he meant and would be more than glad to clear up such a thing if the need arose. Though he doubted that it ever would. Now for the real challenge, finding something he wanted to eat that Alisa would also enjoy. Thought that was truly a bridge they could cross later.

"So let's see, what should we do for food." There were a multitude of options one could pick from, while Manzo was lost in thought his legs began moving all on their own, old habits were hard to kill off, he used to walk for days straight just lost in thought, none of them were particularly deep. Before he knew it he was out the door and down the street without Alisa. He quickly turned around to go back into the gym, popping his head back in and yelling for her.

"Hey princess, get the lead out. I'm starving." He said with a wink and sticking his tongue out at her as a playful taunt. It was nice to feel this free and unbound, as if coming out of a shell that he had been hidden in what seemed like an eternity, though while it was over, it was going to take a bit of adjusting to.

"Think you have it in you, hmmm~? Indeed, we should put that confidence to the test soon enough.", a cheeky smirk drew on her face as she could only laugh at that boisterous statement, fully picking up on the man's salacious undertones - while thoroughly out of place for the serious, brooding Manzo she knew, it was a certainly welcome change of pace.

Who knows, perhaps he really was taking her words to heart on this matter, but in the long run that would only benefit him. No matter how skilled he might be, everybody needs rest at some point. That said, the contrast between this man and the Manzo she knew amused her at every turn, and she couldn't help but chuckle as she slipped into the locker room for a brief moment, cocking her head back and looking at him before going inside:

"I saw a lovely little restaurant on the way here, quite the beautiful view here. Granted, that's an easy commodity to find around here~", she noted, making a fair point not to keep him waiting too long. Not that she needed mind you...

She didn't actually spend too long in the locker room, even if she'd have preferred to make herself presentable before going out for lunch with an old guildmate she hadn't seen in forever. She hadn't brought any clothes, intending to finish her workout elsewhere and then head back to the hotel for a change of clothes. And now, well... Now she had other priorities, casually flipping her hair and giggling as the man called out to her:

"You know what they say sweetie, patience is a virtue.", she quipped, winking at him as she nodded towards the restaurant down the street, "Not to worry, I'm quite certain it will be worth the wait~"

"I've had it in me longer than you've known about it." He said with a laugh, it was nice that Alisa was along for the ride with the humor. It had been some time since anyone had shared in humor with him. Though Alisa wasn't the normal kind of woman to joke with. She was the kind woman that anyone could truly get along with. Well as long as they were worth their weight in strength and in beauty, or so Manzo had found.

Alisa had suggested the bistro down the street, which was a good enough idea all by itself. Though he had hoped this little place served booze of any kind, it had been some time since Manzo had a drink. He abstained from it in order to keep his disguise up, but now that the cat was out of the bag what was the point. His original form was more than likely his best disguise at this point. No one would be able to recognize him at this point, though that was probably for the best.

As the two of them made their way down to said corner bistro Manzo had noticed that Alisa hadn't changed out of her workout gear. Which was odd, considering how much pride Alisa took in her appearance. "You know, you've got a real talent. Said talent is looking like a whole meal after working out. Shit's ridiculous, as well as unfair to the basic bitches among-st us." Manzo said with a chuckle, it was pure sarcasm but he was positive Alisa could identify that. Well with any luck at least, it had been a while since he had even remotely attempted casual flirtations with anyone.

Upon arriving to the corner bistro Manzo stretched and let out a shriek upon all the bones in his back popping from being compressed for all those years. Which was a good thing, he enjoyed his new found freedom and intended to celebrate the right way.
He walked into the establishment and made a b-line for the bar, completely by passing the hostess at the front. He took his seat at the bar and began to peruse the alcohol menu.

WORDS: 350 | TAG: @Manzo | SPORTSWEAR

Now where in the world did that come from...? His words had the artist raising her brow, then chuckling as her hand raised over her mouth. She knew the two of them recognized their own power as such, and yet his rather unusual wording amused her visibly:

"My, what an classy choice of flattery, hmmm...?", replied the sculptress, folding her arms under her shapely, generous bosom as her brow rose knowingly, matching all of his sarcasm with a witty, playful tone. Alisa did appreciate praise like the vain narcissist she was, and knew her guildmate was being as she cheeky as her in his own way, gracefully brushing her long hair behind her, "That said, I can most certainly appreciate fair talent when I see it, and you have just as much of it going for you."

Even a good enough taste in food judging from the way he made a swift beeline for the bistro, though Alisa knew him just enough to know he must have something very different in mind the whole time. Thus she looked between the man and their destination in equal measure with visible interest as if she were about to prove herself right. Merely listening to that popping sound evidenced how much strain the man had likely been under all those years and how good it might feel to finally let go:

"Well, here we are... I guess no point asking you what you want to eat do you~?", she noted, winking playfully as she took a seat at the stool beside him. She'd looked over the menu on her way here, and though she most certainly didn't bother trying to remember the whole thing, she got the gist of it and offered simple words of recommendation, her elbow coming to rest on the counter as she merely gleamed over the menu, "I do recommend the wine though... Out here in Astera, at a restaurant like this... Simply to die for."

As far as beverages were concerned, nothing felt quite as classy as a finely aged red. Though she half expected him to quickly look for some of the stronger brews.

Wine did sound good, but that was not what he wanted on this day, not a day of celebrating. He needed something that fit this occasion, though it would be difficult to choose such a thing. On the subject of what he wanted to eat that was a tough one to be sure. the menu was vast and wonderful. But this alcohol list was far more important to him right now. He scanned it over and over again, but alas making the choice was simply too big a task so he looked over to the bar keep, and motioned for the shapely young thing behind the bar to come over. Upon doing so he took a good long look of her before chuckling to himself. "Alright miss, I've never been here before, so I'm gonna need the ladies opinion. What is the strongest and cheapest thing here." He said with a sheepish grin. Though the drink wasn't the only thing he found himself interested in as she bent over to grab the bottle which was filled with the elixir he desired.

Though he may have looked at her for a moment, then he remembered who it was that was sitting beside him. The most voluptuous woman in all of earthland. Upon having his drink poured, he was asked what he would like to eat. Now that was the million dollar question of the day. He looked over to Alisa with a cheeky grin. "Well, I think I'll have a slice of that." He said with a laugh as he turned back over to the bar tender. "But seriously though I will take all of your bacon, eggs, and pancakes. Let me make that perfectly clear, I will take all of them." His tone went from playful to serious when discussing his order. He did not believe in mincing words when it game to food, then it was time to get back to his drink.

He looked back over to the voluptuous goddess he was seated with. "Tell me Ali, what's been going on in your world this past half decade. Last we were together, the world was quite a different place."

"If you came for cheapest, there's not much help I can give you there~", noted Alisa, looking between the man and the baffled maid. As if to ease the confused girl along, she flashed her that bright smile, throwing her a playful little wink that drew a visible shade of red to her cheeks, Make it strong and good, don't worry about the price~"

Well known fact, Alisa was a woman of expensive tastes, with enough funds to make good on them. She wasn't always so, and for the most part, Manzo knew her best for the girl she was when she joined Blue Pegasus, when her back account wasn't nearly as hefty as today. Alas, things change and people even more so, but an expensive brew would most certainly not affect her balance enough to care.

"Don't worry, I'll cover the pricey round~", reassured the sculptress, chuckling cheekily as she too, picked up on his poorly veiled interest on the bartender looking from the waitress to her companion with that telltale raised eyebrow, "Who would have thought... Turns out you had other things in mind beside beverages."

She couldn't blame him, really, the girl was indeed quite the looker, enough for even Alisa to spare a longer glance, scanning up and down that shapely figure as her smile widened. Though she always believed beauty should be admired at every turn, the man sitting beside her had his fair share as well, and more importantly, they had quite a fair bit to catch up on. His words sounded almost nostalgic, or at least, that was how she thought. Though as the years passed she felt it wasn't so much the world getting worse, just her knowing better:

"It's certainly... Whether for better or worse is a whole other matter, I still haven't quite made up my mind on that.", noted the sculptress, taking a good long swig before before the highball glass came down to rest upon the counter once more, relishing that burning sensation warming her body from the inside out, "A whole lot of war is what happened... We've had quite the fair number of foes to fight off, in many shapes and forms. Even I wasn't there for all of them."

Even now she couldn't help but look back and wonder where she went wrong... Sure, none of these events were directly her responsibility, but for the most part she had pitifully little impact in changing their course. Truly Alisa wasn't much for regrets, and yet she couldn't help but wonder what she could have better. In a way, there's no real self improvement without looking back on both your mistakes and wondering where you failed, taking at look at your successes and noting down what to keep. Take what is useful and make it your own, discard what is useless... Of course, just as well as learning from oneself, learning from one's peers often proved every bit as valuable:

"How about you...? Who exactly did Lance have you chasing after~...?", she inquired, resting her cheek on her palm, clearly looking for something a bit more concrete than the old 'enemies of the guild'. After all, a powerful guild like theirs has plentiful enemies, and it's nor every day a guild master sends one of their own on a secretive mission to deal with the problem behind the scenes.

Lance had the man doing quite a few things over the decade. Though none of them he felt totally comfortable with talking about but then again, this was Alisa. She was perhaps the only person he could completely confide in. He took another swig of his drink to prepare for what it is he was about to admit to. "Well, that's a question with many answers. Lance was paranoid about a lot of individuals. Mainly Dante of Phantom Lord. As well as the man known as Nerva. Those two were the ones I was mainly sent to watch. I suppose I should report to Belladonna at some point." He said with a chuckle as he returned his cup to his lips and finished his drink.

He looked over to the sculptress by his side and couldn't help but be envious of the life the rest of his guild mates got to lead. He felt as though he was just a tad bit robbed of the true guild experience. Though given what he knew about Belladonna he wouldn't have him stay out of Hargeon, considering the more powerful members of the guild were always asked to stay close by. Though he didn't truly fit the bill for that role anymore. "I saw a lot of things, some things I wished I hadn't. If the council knew what it is Lance had me doing, I'd more than likely be considered a war criminal."

He did wonder how the sculptress would react to what it is she was being told. Though given his and Alisa's relationship, she wouldn't give a second thought about it. He knew how Alisa's mind worked, she was very guild and result oriented. Had she been in Lance's position she might have done the same thing. Though had that been the case, he probably would have actually come hope with reports instead of sending encrypted messages via carrier bird. Though that was all purely conjecture truthfully. "Ali this might sound like an odd question. Is my room at the guild still there?" He wasn't all that worried about it, but he wanted to know if they had truly forgotten about him or not.

The moment he started speaking was the moment her brow rose quite curiously, perhaps innocently wishing Manzo would answer one of the many questions she had, only to snicker when she found out he wouldn't, for the most part. Well, if he were a man who'd glady spill his secrets for the first temptress he ran into, Lance would have likely never told them to him to begin with. Much to her surprise, he did at least hand her a few names, only one of which she'd never heard too much with:

"Indeed you should, though I'm sure you'll be hearing all about it soon enough~", giggled the sculptress, knowing Belladona was undoubtedly more open about his concern for the members of Blue Pegasus than Lance, "Nerva hmmm~...? Pretty sure that's a name we'll sadly be hearing more of in the days to come."

Lance seemed a far cooler, distant sort, an approach Alisa respected enough to see the resemblance to her own, but there was a certain charm in Belladonna's way of running things. She took a moment to admiring the swirling golden liquid in her glass, arms crossed over the counter as she noted:

"Well, then it's best we don't let them know hmmm~?", chuckled the sculptress, resting a hand on his shoulder. Nobody in the guild would give away his secret even if they knew it, and quite frankly, she wagered most of the guildmembers didn't.

Neither Lance nor Belladona were the type to burden fellow Pegasi with knowledge they couldn't really use, information that wouldn't really do them any good to begin with. Ignorance is bliss after all, even a clever, rational woman like Alisa understood that, despite her thirst for knowledge, there were things even she was better off not knowing. The number of vacancies in the guild hall was not one of those things however, and yet she never really paid it too much mind. She had a room, sure, but never kept too much there to begin with.

"I'd assume so, alas I don't stop by the guild hall that much.", almost apologetic in tone, Alisa rubbed the side of her neck before taking another good, long swig of the strong beveage before her, all but sighing in delight that burning sense of freshness, "Not much more than you do really~... But last I checked, it was still there."
