Tsukiko

WORDS: 504/1000 | TAG: @tag | Quest: 504/1000

There is this certain saying among law enforcement: a culprit always returns to the scene of the crime. Once upon a time, Tsukiko would not have understood the concept of that saying. In the end, wasn't it stupid to return to a crime scene after you escaped? However, as the white-haired girl stood outside doctor Stephan's shop the girl couldn't help but find her lips curving up into a smirk.

Right, she had finally understood why a culprit would return to the scene of their crime: because they couldn't resist the temptation of having more fun. Recalling her recent little misadventure with the pair of hexes were she had roped a pretty looking bard into joining her in a game she had invented Tsukiko had to admit she was kind of curious to figure out what type of pranks she could do this time. It seemed the doctor appreciated the fact that she was willing to cast spells on random strangers without a concern for the consequences, but then again it wasn't exactly like she was an ordinary girl either.

Still, it appeared today the bard had not been around, something that made the girl sigh softly as she wandered the streets, tapping the piece of paper against her cheek while humming softly. "Tsukiko wonders who Tsukiko should choose today."

Fortunately for her, it appeared the choice wouldn't have to wait long, considering she had found her first target. A giant of a man was pulling a wagon along, a wagon filled to the brim with barrels of juice, and of course, she had been curious to see just how far a barrel could possibly roll. Raising a hand to her lips she looked down at the parchment and whispered the chant phrase while looking at the giant man. "Decrepify."

After a moment the man suddenly collapsed onto his knees, and due to the sudden shifting of the wag the various barrels started to roll and tumble down from the wagon, and as a child watching an attraction she followed one of the barrels since she already had confirmed the spell functioned exactly as it should have done.

For several long minutes, the girl continued chasing the barrel, all the way till it came to a halt near the outskirts of the forest. Of course, it didn't take a genius to figure out what she would do next, right? A normal law-abiding citizen would bring back the barrel right away, but considering she was testing out hexes and curses it wasn't exactly like she was abiding the law! Nor was she even a citizen of this country for that matter. Still, looking at that barrel she felt a silent allure to it as if something was telling her to just fall into the sinful act of bashing open the barrel and sampling the juice inside. What would it end up being? Apple juice? Orange Juice? So many options, and as the girl approached the barrel she could barely contain her excitement to find out!

the abyss will also gaze into thee.

Tsukiko

WORDS: 511/1000 | TAG: @tag | Quest: 1015/1000

Giving in to the temptation the girl cracked open the barrel and peeked inside, finding a purplish liquid inside. Perhaps it was made from berries? Some sort of berry juice? If only she had realized that it was actually a very potent alcoholic beverage... With the excitement of a child at a festival, she plunged her face into the barrel and drank as much of the liquid as possible, finally emerging with her face out of the barrel as she playfully licked her lips and hummed softly. "Tsukiko likes this juice~"

A soft hic escaped her lips as she walked toward the town, looking at the second parchment. "hehe... Tsukiko feels all sorts of funny right now..." another hic followed as she tried to read the content of the parchment, humming softly. "What does this say again? Manga? Marta? Mogna? Tsukiko thinks it reads 'Magna!"

The poor drunken teenager had accidentally used it on herself, the hex backfiring as she was knocked straight out of the air, tumbling onto the grass as she blacked out.

Several minutes passed as she suddenly felt herself regaining consciousness, and oddly enough sober again. "Tsukiko thinks that was a mistake, and so was putting Tsukiko's face in the barrel..."

Still, according to the parchment, the hex should have made her feel weak as if all the strength had been drained from her body. However, she felt far from that! She actually felt stronger and energetic than ever! "POWER, INFINITE POWER!" The girl cackled as if she was mimicking a certain powerful sorcerer who once ruled an ancient empire before finally rising back onto her feet. She still had to report back the results of those hexes, and so the girl started to wander back toward her employer's store. A few minutes passed as she explained that she had cast the hexes, including the little misadventure with the juice barrel.

"No, that wasn't a magical drink, it's likely that the hex I gave you had some peculiar side-effect. Or perhaps there was a mistake?"

The man tilted his head slightly to the side in confusion as he reread something in a nearby book. "No, the hex was crafted perfectly, what means the magic might have interacted differently because of your peculiar body."

Hearing the man's words she puffed her cheeks lightly and inquired with a hint of mild annoyance in her voice. "Are you calling Tsukiko weird?"

The doctor chuckled briefly, muttering that weird was an understatement and handed her a pouch full of jewels while returning to the back of his shop. With the request done Tsukiko left the store, looking at her arms as she wondered for a moment what the cause of this sudden increase in her strength could have been. Was it truly simply the result of the hex? Or was there indeed something weird about her body? Then again, maybe it was the parasite that had absorbed the power of the hex and made it her own. Only time would tell whether this power would become a blessing or a curse...

If thou gaze long into an abyss,

the abyss will also gaze into thee.
