Odin †

Odin knew this time would be brief, so he decided to capitalise on it while he could. His time in a dark guild had come to an end, and now he wasn't even a royal guard, having been fired by the emperor shortly after receiving the honour. Many confusing events had occurred over the last few days, so Odin had decided to get out of Crocus and focus on making a name for himself in someway. He was now guildless, the first time since he had first taken up magical abilities, and he had been known as a royal guard briefly, which meant he could get money through a brand new source. While in Magnolia, the home of Fairy Tail, Odin had one goal: to complete all the good requests that he could. He knew he would soon return to the shadows, and soon become a dark mage once more, but for the moment, he might as well make a good name for himself, it would it all the better when he inevitably betrayed everyone that thought him reformed. And what better person to start with than the church, the people who hated him the most out of every organisation.

Father Jerad was the man Odin was searching for, a simple priest of the Illumin church, and he needed a hand dealing with the sick and wounded. Apparently there was some kind of illness going around that was rendering people ill and in need of care. To keep it from spreading, they were brought to the priest and to the Kardia Cathedral, because for some reason everyone thought that illnesses and death could be cured with a prayer and 'a little faith'. These people kept Odin in a constant state of rolling his eyes, but luckily he didn't actually have eyeballs anymore so he didn't have to worry about being noticed. He chuckled slightly as he started making his way towards the cathedral. These were the kinds of people -the people of faith that were too naïve to accept reality- that the church loved and Odin loathed. They were the reason he was evil, and the reason he didn't particularly care if they died, happily taking their lives and sending them to their God that would solve all their problems. And yet, despite all that, he was about to help heal the sick. If anything, dead sick people could join his army of undead and help him take Magnolia as his own and destroy the place, but no, that could be another day. For today, he would just have to go around and give medicine to the sick and dying, and let Illumin deal with the rest.

As Odin walked through the town, the fact that he was heading for the cathedral, the whispers of the populace were ridiculous. Some of the things he was being called, it was like the emperor's decree hadn't reached any of their ears, and instead they were happy just to call Odin such terrible names. If he cared at all, he might've actually been offended.

Odin †

Something else that Odin was intrigued, and honestly a little excited, to watch play out was his first interaction with Father Jerad. Naturally the priest knew that Odin was coming, having put in an advert seeking help with aiding the sick, but he had no idea that a Lich, the very thing the church of Illumin hates about as much as demons, was about to enter into likely the second most sacred place for her teachings. The most amusing part was that he had already visited the most sacred church in Fiore, that of course being the Grand Cathedral in Crocus. But, as Odin walked through the great doors of the church, he knew that the priest would be too desperate to send away someone wanting to assist, even if it was something he'd sworn oaths to help eradicate. And when it came to the sick and disease-stricken, they could easily just blame their illness and think that death had come for them. Once they healed, they're faith in the 'light of Illumin' would be restored, and Odin would've helped that. He was almost tempted to turn back at that thought.

"Ah, you must be the one sent to assist me. Thank you for coming on such short notice, it's a pleasure to make your- WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING!?!?!?"

The very feminine shriek that left the priest's mouth was almost impressive in its pitch, if not for the fact that it was incredibly annoying. Naturally, Jerad had been too busy upon Odin's entrance when the Lich had entered, speaking as he was administering medicine before turning to 'make his acquaintance'. Another moment of rolling his eyes came to Odin, but he pushed past it and just got to the point. Father Jerad may have poor judgement on him, but Odin was here to help him.

"You do realise how extremely racist that was. Where's the medicine and where are the ill? I'm just here to get paid."

At that, Father Jerad didn't relax as such, but rather he just pointed to a table of medicines, and to beds -notably on the far side of the church- as he stood, terrified, behind one of the great marble pillars of the cathedral, his head and hands being the only things poking out as he watched Odin move towards the table, and then towards the ill. The next few hours were simply filled with Odin giving the medicines to the people that needed them. Some of them even thanked him, but the majority just reacted in the same way as Father Jerad, prompting Odin to knock a few of them unconscious as they wouldn't take any 'poison from the monster'. It was all rather dull, and hardly made Odin feel all warm and fuzzy inside, which he was told was supposed to happen when you helped people. Regardless, once he finished he simply walked back towards the priest, who pointed again at the table, where a coin purse was sitting. Picking it up, Odin left the cathedral, his parting words echoing through the great room.

"Don't worry Father, you'll warm up to me eventually."
