He exited the restaurant with a few grumbled swears, and a bag of food. His eyes darted around the empty streets, as he began moving forwards.

From all of the places in Magnolia, he had stumbled upon one of the worst. The food, while good, was accompanied by awful waiters, and even more awful people. He didn't want to cause a scene, nor did he wish for others to know that he was aware of their stares and glares. Truth be told, he didn't know why. Maybe it was his clothes. Maybe it was the fact that he ate alone. Or, maybe, they just saw that he wasn't someone who gave their money on expensive things, without actually needing them. Either way, he paid, got his food bagged, and headed home.

While the encounters weren't that bad, what Ri felt the worst about, was the fact that he was basically alone. He didn't know anyone in Magnolia, and had come here only to visit, or to gather some more money. He'd have to go back to Baska at some point. The days here were proving to become more and more boring, and he couldn't just repeat the same ol' 'Eat, sleep, work' routine he currently had. He was young, for goodness sake. He didn't want to overwork himself. After all, who else had this shiny blonde hair, like he did.

As he thought of this, a small smile formed on his face. "Maybe I should visit an inn. Or a park. I might find someone who can actually show me the good things about Magnolia.." He muttered, to himself. He felt like voicing his thoughts gave him more ideas, or verified if the idea he thought about worked. And, yes, he did seem like a lunatic who spoke to ghosts.

The sun set a long time ago. He'd assume about an hour or so. With a sigh, he trudged on, debating whether or not to visit the library and find himself a new book. His right hand reached for the back of his head, softly scratching it.

The lamp's lights began to turn on, as he walked under them, his gaze slowly lifting to the darkened sky. Almost full moon tonight.

He stopped, as his ears picked up another set of steps. He looked behind him, but not actually seeing anyone, he continued on.

Rishi had been lurking around the streets of Magnolia tonight, looking for something interesting to do. The cool night air had gently blown her hair back, and the night sky was filled with beautiful stars. She had been drawn out tonight by something in which she couldn't really describe, she just felt that tonight was a nice night to spend outside. The town was completely silent and the moon shone down brightly, hitting Rishi's eyes perfectly, making them twinkle in the dark. Venus had walked quietly beside her, his head up to the sky. "It's quite a beautiful bight don't you think?" she said to her companion. He had let out small yips of joy and they walked through the shadows, making sure that no one saw them.

Just then she had seen a man walking down the street with a bag in his hand and a rather aggressive expression on his face. There were lamps turning on behind him, and then he turned around, possibly checking if someone was behind him. Rishi had decided that she wanted to mess with the man, and started walking behind him after he passed the street that she had been on. She tried to hide as best she could, and her footsteps were hardly even audible. The lamps made it nearly impossible though, seeing as they would turn on right as she passed by them.

Oh man what a world, the things I hear, if I could act on my revenge Then oh, would I?

As he walked, Ri's thoughts would be periodically interrupted by the other set of steps behind him. He stopped, once again, under a street light and looked behind him, eyes squinted, to peer through the darkness. A chill ran through him as he continued to look behind him. Not all lamps were lit, of course, and the night's dark enveloped most of the street. -Now- Ri's thoughts began to run wild. What could be making these steps? Were they birds? Cats? Or, maybe, it was a monster, waiting to catch him unaware. He decided he'll play its game. He began walking faster, as his pocketed hand now swung beside him, giving him a slight boost of speed.

As soon as a corner came into Ri's path, he took it and immediately placed himself flat against the wall, the bag of food rested near him. He listened for the footsteps, and as soon as they neared the corner, he'd step out his index finger pointed towards his perpetrator. His thumb was pointed upwards, giving his hand the look of a gun.

Electricity began gathering at the tip of his finger, but he didn't do anything yet. "Now." He began, with a raised eyebrow, "Why were you-" He stopped, once he saw that his assaulter was none other than a shorter girl. He blinked, and slowly 'put his gun down', "Can I- Uh- Can I help you?" From his expression alone, it was quite clear that he was confused from this whole business. Did this girl really follow him just to spook him? Not cool, bro. Not cool.

Either way, he crossed his arms, and waited for her answer.

Rishi silently laughed, and it echoed throughout her mind as she walked behind the man. He was one with a vast imagination, and right before he had caught her, it had looked like he was playing pretend cop. When he had looked at her though there seemed to be lightning forming on his had, and when he had realized that it was only her, he lowered his hand. When he asked the girl if she needed anything, she couldn't hold back her laughter. In her mind her laugh was uncontrollable, but in reality it was just a small giggle. "You're pretty funny, ya know that," she said to the man before giving him a big grin, fangs out. It was nice when she had things like these come out of a night's walk, and she liked to savor every moment of it whenever she got the chance. "No, there isn't really anything that you can help me with, I just wanted to yank your chain a bit, seeing as you had already been a little spooped out before I showed up," she said as she picked up her companion off the fog covered ground. It was hard to find him for a second, but she could tell she found what she was looking for when there were a few curls under her hand. "I'm Rishi, and this is Venus, nice to meet ya," she stated sticking her hand out for a handshake, the other still holding Venus up.

The girl's first words made him even more confused than he was. This girl, who had followed him for the hell of it just told him he was funny. He didn't even know what he did. Though, her next words answered that question.

He walked back to his bag of food, and picked it up, returning then to the girl. His eyes set on her teeth, but he didn't dare ask. He might not like the answer.

While the girl's words rang true- he was a tad creeped out by the atmosphere around him- he hadn't exactly known that it was this easy to see through his brave facade. He'll have to work on his poker face, sooner or later.

He opened his mouth, to retort, but he was interrupted by a tickling feeling, around his legs. Suffice to say, most could say that he jumped three meters in the air- And while that is an exaggeration, he stumbled backwards, hand right back to shoot this monster who dared attack him while he was busy- Wait. That's a fox. It's cute. Ri gathered himself, and brought a hand to his face, to cough into it, as to alleviate some of the awkwardness he had just caused.

"I'm Ri. I -guess- it's a pleasure to meet you. Even if the place isn't that good. But, oh well, it's always nice to meet new people." Having gathered himself, he gave a brightE smile, and extended his hand, for a handshake, "He's cute." He spoke, nodding towards her little pet.

"So, what are -you- doing this late at night? I mean- " His smile became a small smirk, as he decided that a bit of teasing wouldn't hurt. After all, this is what she had done to him, "-a small child shouldn't be out this late at night."

A chuckle escaped him, and he shook his head, "I'm not cut out for this."

Rishi had sighed. This man was probably going to be the highlight of her month, and that was honestly pretty pathetic. She wasn't really ever doing anything with her life, and it seemed that this would be the only interesting thing that she would do. Maybe this could be something different though, maybe this could be the start of something meaningful. She didn't know what would become of this, but as she thought about that he had called her a kid, and that made her snap her head up and stop her foot on the ground saying, "I'm not a kid!" She really did hate when people looked at her like she was small, and the more it happened, the more insecure she felt about it. "Do I really look that small?" she would think to herself. Just then though, a laugh escaped him, so she had then assumed that it was pretty much a joke, and had then looked down. She had now yelled at him for no reason, and now she felt bad. She was just going to dismiss it though and pretend like nothing ever happened, hoping that things would just carry on normally. She looked back up and gave an awkward smile and said. "Actually I just wanted to come see the sky tonight, and feel the nice breeze is all really."

At the girl's sudden and rash retort, Ri couldn't help but laugh. In all honesty, the words wouldn't seem anything but cute to the older mage, who was now running a hand over his face, to try and right himself, so that he could actually have a normal conversation. After all, he didn't want to seem like an a-hole. He shook his head, gently, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" He spoke, and even though he was laughing, it didn't seem to be anything malicious in his tone.

This was a good opportunity for him, he would've thought. After all, he -was- alone in this town, and it didn't hurt to have someone to talk to. Or even someone to show him the town. Now -he- felt bad for laughing. Maybe if he told her, it wouldn't seem like he wanted to make her feel bad. Or maybe he'd just make things awkward? Ah, why does it matter? He might as well just go with his gut.

"I didn't mean to laugh." He suddenly spoke, the smile still present on his face, "It just sounded really funny."

Her next words are what caught his attention. He wouldn't go out this late at night if it killed him. But, people had their preferences, and he supposed that this was hers. Nothing wrong with a late night stroll. He suddenly looked around, and realized that, hey- They were in the middle of the city, all alone, during the night. And the moon began being hidden away by clouds. Amazing. Even if light was given by the lamps,

His gaze then fell back to the girl, to whom he spoke a bit sheepishly, "I know this may sound weird, but can we go to a park, or something?" He asked, reaching his free hand to the back of his head, and gently scratching it, "I'm not trying to kidnap you!" He continued, quickly, "But, you seem like someone I can talk to."

He shrugged, nonchalantly, and waited for her answer, before walking in any direction.

Rishi had only gave a blank stare for a moment. For some reason she had been feeling like she had forgotten something, but she couldn't figure out what it was. Even though the man had been talking, she really hadn't been listening as she was trying to figure out what she had forgotten. "Damn it" she thought as she rummaged through her mind for the answer. The man had asked if she wanted to go to the park, but really she couldn't do that at the moment, as she really did need to find out what she was missing. She told Ri, "I'm really sorry, I sure do wish I could, but right now it's impossible, and it seems I've lost something. I can point you in the direction of a nearby hotel though for you to stay for the night?" she said as she had started writing down directions. This was odd, but things happen, and sometimes you just couldn't control them. It was time that she was going, so she gave Ri the directions and a small wave goodbye as she ran off into the darkness with her companion at her side, silent steps into the starry night.

Suffice to say, he was quite glad that his laugh had gotten ne unnoticed. He didn't want to give a bad first impression, after all. Although, her blank stare did unnerve him a bit, he decided not to address it, thinking that maybe this was only the girl's way of processing what he said. Hey, not everyone's a genius, after all. But, even so, he assumed that the girl was smarter than she looked.

Once she spoke, his earlier idea crumbled to the ground- Although, not in a bad way. The mage didn't want the girl to be stupid, of course. He only nodded, and awkwardly reached for the back of his neck, scratching it. "Uh- Sure, yeah. I don't need any help, but thanks. I hope you find what you're looking for, though!" And as the girl left, he gave a small wave, turning to grab the bag of food, and heading off himself. This late at night, he'd only wish to go to his inn room, open the bag of left over food, and finish tonight's dinner. While eating alone wasn't how he wished to end the night, at least he ended it with a new friend. And, who knows, maybe he'll meet her again these next few days.

A few more minutes afterwards, and he'd gone to sleep, with the thought of a bright day ahead of him.
