Joan was already on another mission from the same client she did her last job for -- Bishop Santos. All of the missions she had been on involved killing which added excitement to them so she was basically on a roll now. She had been taking jobs nonstop she almost forgot about what she was really here for. It was always in the back of her mind, though, so every time she was done with taking requests, she would take some time to do the research she was here to do, even though she had some difficulty since everyone was always hiding. It was like everything that was going on in this town was a secret and unless she got herself into a circle, she would not find out about anything. Currently she had some chances for that thanks to Bishop Santos. Since he was some kind of a leader in this area, she could ask him a few things that she needed to know once he trusted her. She was doing some jobs for him after all, and afterwards he could possibly come to trust her. The vampyress was counting on that. And now she was supposed to go back to the abandoned streets again. Apparently people were tearing down fliers and Bishop Santos wanted that to stop. She was not supposed to keep the culprits alive, which was the fun part about it. So once again, she went to the cafe for some coffee before she started on the job.

She wore a leather jacket and jeans as usual and kept to the shadows when going to the abandoned streets. This mission was also supposed to be a secret, so she was to stay hidden from anyone who could see her and find her suspicious. Shoving her hands into the pockets of her jeans, she stood in a corner of the street from where she could see any movement. She kept her senses alert for that. It was a half moon and the night was gloomy as always. Dahlia Town itself had that effect. It felt like it was forever clouded in darkness. Even in the day, it felt like night. That did not mean that she felt stronger and faster like she did when she did in the night, but the feeling was as if it was always night time in Dahlia Town. She wondered how any human could stand that, unless they got used to it. Apart from the gloominess, there were a bunch of monsters to hide from or stay protected from. If they were not careful, they could end up dead. Joan was quite curious to know if there was any harmony in this town. Bishop Santos who was supposed to be the leader, displayed hostility towards his enemies which meant that even if he put up an innocent act, deep down, he was actually a troublemaker. Since there was a new king and all that, Joan could not help but wonder about these things.

Joan did not need extra accessories to keep herself hidden because she had dark hair and was wearing a black leather jacket, plus her movements were silent to normal ears. Unless someone had an extraordinarily heightened sense of hearing, they would not be able to hear her do anything, well unless she broke a window or something like that. As she stood in the same spot she was standing in for like five minutes now, she noticed that two figures were coming into the street. She pushed herself off of the tree she was leaning against and watched them. They began to tore off a flier that was stuck to a lamp post and that was when she knew that they were her targets. As soon as she confirmed that, she began to chase them. They started running as soon as they saw her, so she had to chase them for a while. They were two young looking guys, probably working for someone. Or they were stupid. Or literally everyone in this town hated their leader. She could see why they would, but she was not going to get involved. She was merely here to do her job. The two guys ran like they knew they were going to die, which they were of course. Soon they would run out of energy and that was when Joan would kill them. Right now she was just waiting for that to happen as she spared her energy for if they tried something funny.

But it seemed like they had no backup plan whatsoever. They came to a dead end where both of them were trapped with Joan. The vampyress gave them both a very cheerful smile. “Hello,” she said with a chuckle. The two of them looked spooked, but also angry. She kept smiling as she approached them. She noticed how out of breath they were and out of ideas as well. That was when one of them started speaking. It was something pretty strange to say in a life and death situation, but Joan remembered it. ‘Do you know what is scarier than the monsters who hides in the light and shows its teeth in the dark? The monster who does not hide in the light but hides its teeth behind a smile.’ With a laugh, Joan replied by opening her mouth to show them her vampyre fangs. “Since you mentioned teeth,” she laughed and advanced towards the one who talked, sinking her teeth into one side of his neck. He did try to struggle, but was put down by Joan’s strength. He was not strong enough. He was horrified, right before he fell to the ground. She turned towards the other one who was also looking very spooked. She did the same to him as well, leaving them both dead on the ground. Right before they breathed their last breath, one of them muttered something that was hard to understand. His face showed regret. Joan wiped her mouth and left.
