Finally a decent snow day huh...? Now that she thought about, she really hadn't seen that many this Winter, maybe that had to do with her previous choice of locale. She really hadn't been in Baska long enough to get a good feel for its weather beyond its tendency for windy, chilly rain, yet not actually cold enough for snow.

"My, how lovely~...", she noted, hear breath chilling into small smoky puffs with every words, head turning around to look at the streets beyond her hotel, then upwards into the skies above.

With a thin veil of clouds warding off the worst of the sun rays, citizens could take in this gorgous glory - this pure white like a maiden's wedding gown, as far as their eyes could see - without the thick dark, gloom of an overcast day. She did rather enjoy the snowy cold not so much for childlike reasons of having snowball fights (though she definitely did so in her child and even now counted it as a guilty pleasure), but simply for its sheer, seasonal beauty. And even though so many people definitely thought alike, not all of them braved the elements.

Thus, stepping into the gardens gave her calm, discreet sense of community, spotting occasional passerbys (most of whom children running and playing). Her boots plowed through the snow with little effort a soft, shifting sound accompanying every step until she reached drier soil, under the covers, under a stylish, metallic overhang. There laid some of the elder or lazier strollers, who'd much rather appreciate the outdoor beauty without having to move their legs. And for all her sporty fitness, Alisa hardly objected to joining them. After all, she saw as many empty tables as occupied ones, and also noted how some pairs of people took to playing games, ranging from the usual domino in the hands of the grizzled players, and even a single chess player who caught the sculptress' attention.

"Hmm... It's been a while since I last played it.", mused Alisa, curiously looking at the pieces as she though back to that mission when a kid hired her to play with her.

But as that player found himself an opponent before Alisa could approach him, she instead sighed, looking at Lumen, who shrugged apologetically. Clad in a thicker winter coat than the sculptress picked for herself, she looked cute as a button like she always did,

Spoiler:

Alas, that wouldn't really help her here. She knew the little Litwick couldn't really play chess; sure, she could teach her but she'd proabably not master it until after a couple of games.

The Number One Duelist:

Seta Kaiba

It was unusual, but snowy days often tended to make her feel in a slightly more pleasant mood. Of course, it didn't help her that Mokuba was with her. Her adorable little brother was running before her with the same energetic innocent excitement that could have belonged to a child. "Big sis Se! Did you know? There are a lot of elderly people playing games!" The boy happily bounced up and down in excitement and clapped his hands together, making Seta's lips curve briefly up in a smile while she raised a hand to pet her little brother's head.

"Don't get too excited Mokuba, I doubt they will be interested in our game, but you can ask them?" The young woman at his side seemed somewhat amused, yet at the same time it didn't stop Mokuba from darting toward the tables and started talking to a group of elderly people, after a few minutes being eagerly involved in the conversation as he started to instruct the people on how to play a famous children's card game.

Standing a few meters away from the boy she watched with a warm smile, for once finding her crude outer facade to disappear. Perhaps for today the old Seta Kaiba could be there...

People yet came and go with the passing of the breeze, especially the children who moved around more often. Unlike the elderly who could not only spend minutes in a single move, but hours in one game. Devoid of an interesting game to play, Alisa simply sat at a lone table a bit further apart from the others, creating a small crystal on her palm and patiently sculpting it with a cool, peaceful smile on her face. Lumen on the other hand, decided to do her own exploration

"Mmmmhmmhmm~...", she hummed to herself what sounded like an actual song of sorts, yet more likely was just the cute Litwick improvising whatever tune sounded best to her

She walked around with a girlish step, swaying gently and trying both hand behind her waist. Casually, she'd approach the various tables, take a peek at their game, and move on; despite the genuine interest, none held the fickle, somewhat airheaded litwick's attention for long. That was, until she came upon a table with a kid, trying to teach an old man about a strange game Lumen hadn't seen before. That said, the boy caught her attention first, and the game soon after, and before she knew it she found herself curiously standing near the table, intrigued by the game...

The Number One Duelist:

Seta Kaiba

"So you see, the game rules are pretty simple once you get a hold of it. Imagine each player being like the 'General' of their own army." Mokuba was excitedly explaining the rules to the elderly spectators while Seta noticed a rather cute looking girl joined to observe the group, yet she couldn't help but let out a soft snicker at the way her brother was describing the game. "The morale of your army is made out of 'Life Points, usually it's 4000, but some games tend to use double of that. The main goal is to summon your warriors in the form of Monster Cards, and use those to defeat your enemy!"

Mokuba explained excitedly while he continued with a light wag of his finger. "But you can't just mindlessly attack, that's a mistake a beginner would make. A true master would use tactics like Magic and Trap cards to trick an opponent! And we're lucky enough to have a true master among us today! My big sis Seta is the number one duelist of Fiore!"

The boy eagerly darted over to her and grabbed a hold of her hand, causing her to reply in a flustered reaction. "W-Wait a moment Mokuba!" Yet her protests fell on deaf ears as the boy pulled her to the table and asked something. "Please show them your magic sis! Please show them how awesome Duel Monsters truly is!"

Seta sighed softly, a glimpse around the area confirming only a few people were around so she stated with a weak smile. "Fine, but we'll make sure not to tell anyone about this, okay?"

The elderly people nodded in agreement to the deal as she took a few steps backward and drew a hand toward the holster of her deck, a swift nimble motion making the case open while she exclaimed "DRAW!"

A stylish flourish-like sweep followed as a single card rested in her hand, and raising it upwards she shouted. "From the Duel Monsters Realm I summon you, come forth my loyal servant: BATTLE OX!"

As she exclaimed those words the area behind her lit up as the two meters tall Minotaur rose behind her and flexed his muscles at the group while Seta placed the card on the table. "And that's how my big sis turns Duel Monsters into a reality!" Oh gods this was embarassing...

Lumen had arrived just in time to hear the explanation about a game called duel monsters. Alisa was only barely out of earshot, and partly heard the name of the game. But to hear, it would have sounded like that game boys played at her school, with the islands, mountains and creatures. Lumen, however, had never seen (or never cared) about one such game, and was thus left thoroughly captivated by it.

If she didn't know better, one might guess Lumen simply found the boy cute...

Alisa glanced in their direction on more than on occasion; personally, she hadn't cared about it in the slightest of the reasons mentioned above, for she saw most of those games as childish, unable to weather the test of time. When the kid grew louder and introduced the (rather beautiful) woman next to him as the number one duelist, the sculptress almost scoffed; amused and wondering how a card player could actually call oneself such in a city about to come under attack...

"If only the actual number one duelist would show up and come defend this city...", she though to herself, looking away from the scene and concentrating on her sculpture, "Now that would be helpful."

Lumen on the other hand, showed no such concerns, looking on in awe at the woman who promptly drew her card deck, one whose sharp eyes no doubt reminded the Litwick of her own partner. Thus, she glued herself to the woman's form as she struck a rather fancy pose with her cards, and finally proceeded to give one of the monsters a tangible form. A symphony of 'ooooh's and 'whoa's made themselves heard immediately, a commotion loud enough to draw even the aloof sculptress' attention:

"Hooo~ So there might be a bit more to the best duelist in Fiore... How interesting~", with a few more brushes of her finger, she had finished her crystalline rose, slipped in her pocket, and headed over to watch the demonstration from up close, as expected after witnessing a magic she had no idea even existed. Lumen watched her approach and giggled, immediately guessing her partner's interest, while Alisa gained the slightest hint of red in her cheeks, somewhat embarrassed at being read like a book...

Few people could pull this off after all. Of course, all that faded as she inspected the minotaur summoned before her. For once it appeared that, for once, this woman's abilities as a card player translated onto the life and death field called battle.

"Card summoning huh... Now that's a rather unique magic.", she observed, as Lumen nodded in agreement

The Number One Duelist:

Seta Kaiba

The minotaur looked down upon the new arrival, the two meters tall giant growled beneath his breath while Seta turned toward the stranger. "It is somewhat similar to Summoning Magic. although it is not exactly limited to only summoning the creatures from the game." She tapped the holster on her belt lightly and turned to look at the pink-haired girl in their presence when suddenly a magical seal would emerge beneath her feet and within the blink of an eye Alisa would find her, instead of Seta standing in front of her.

"An easy way to describe it would be to say that I'm turning the idea behind the card into reality." She paused for a moment before Mokuba added in a worried tone. "But it is pretty exhausting to summon a lot of monsters, right sis?" Seta nodded her head in confirmation before she decided to entertain the crowd for a bit longer. "So who wants to see two duel monsters fighting each other?"

The inquiry clearly made Mokuba get even more excited, trying to edge her on to provide them with yet another little show for the group to enjoy. However, what would the remaining people think about the idea?

"How menacing~", Alisa gibed somewhat ironically at the beefy minotaur growling at her arrival, meeting the creature's gaze with her chilly wine red eyes, before trailing back down to appreciate the summoner's own art form, as she was kind enough to explain. Her figure and poise hinted at a proud individual, yet the woman herself seemed far more approachable than her appearance would imply...

She listened to the explanation quite attentively; Alisa never shied away from learning about new forms of magic: Whether they wound up in the hands of an ally or enemy, she could always find use to that knowledge, if presented with a user of said magic in combat. As the woman spoke, she'd fold her her arms under her sweater bound bust, adjusting her scarf, then resting a single hand on her chin:

"I see... That lets employ not only summons but also cast spells yourself.", she'd comment rethorically, not really needing the brunette's answer to reach this conclusion herself. Especially once the girl activated a spell and swapped positions with the baffled Lumen, who merely looked at her in awe, "Hmmm, even spacetime spells? My, you've happened upon a rather useful magic."

As any good mage should know, spells involving spacetime were often the hardest to come across, but if used by a skilled mage, they could decide just about any fight. As for her next question, Alisa answered not with words: The woman had her interest before, but now she had her full attention. She could sense the passion towards her cards, towards the magic that came from it.

And that too, was art.

The Number One Duelist:

Seta Kaiba

When even the elderly spectators started to join in with Mokuba's excited chanting Seta nodded her head at the Battle Ox who started to march toward a nearby more spacious area, while with a graceful sweep of her hand over the card case a card appeared in her hand that soon burst into blue flames as a familiar looking Minotaur appeared before the first one. Of course, she would be a poor duelist if she couldn't make the duel exciting to spectate, so with a light tap onto her deck a glowing shape started to manifest in the Battle Ox their hands, soon forming into what appeared to be two battle axes!

"Battle Ox, your enemy stands before you and your audience awaits: It's time to Duel!"

The first Battle Ox let out a thunderous warcry as he dashed in a beeline toward his opponent, axe lifted up to make a violent downwards swing but his opponent was quick to react, adjusting his arm and angled his swing in such a way metal clashed against metal the moment their attacks collided. The two battle ox were clearly in the midst of a power struggle, trying to dominate each other when suddenly without a warning the second Battle Ox made a straight jab with his large fist, hitting his opponent in the gut as he staggered backwards, giving his opponent a chance to slice the tip of his weapon across the monster's eye! A loud gasp came from several of the spectators as blood visibly dripped from the beast's wound!

The flashy, mysterious summoner had the right idea. After getting caught up in her passion for a children's card game, she did what not many mages dared to: Flaunt and boast about her magic in public with a war coming. Whether this woman planned on fighting was of no consequence to Alisa though, as it might have been had she not put on a show. In the end Alisa respected her choice of art first and war second:

"Now then... Show me true extent of your art~", Alisa comment half to herself, unsure whether the woman would actually hear it but not really caring if she didn't

Alisa took her place at the front of the crowd... Unlike the other spectators however, she didn't actually resign herself to sitting down. With two waving motions of her hands, she rose two crystalline pillars from the ground to make a bench, the rose the rear part of those pillars higher to make a proper chair. Now, both her and Lumen had premium front row seats from which to watch the fight, at a place where nobody would dare sit down for fear of getting something thrown at them.

A weapon, a severed limb, whatever... Coming from these two brawling brutes, it may look like it could do a fair bit of damage. But even then, Alisa had little reason to worry for she still had no less than five meters from the fight scene, and could thus react with some form of defense if something got thrown her way.

And it was definitely worth the front row seats. The minotaurs growled and went at each other with furious vengeance, as if their life depended on it. Alisa however, seemed unphased by the bloodshed, as if she had no other way of conveying the raw brutality of minotaurs battling for superiority.

And yet it was clear the battle was still far from over. Despite the fact that the second Battle Ox was having the advantage right now, strengthening his grip on his battle axe while flinging the weapon above his head, the moment he tried to make a downwards sweep the other Battle Ox swiftly moved to the side, his axe cleaving through the air and slicing a deep wound into the second Battle Ox's chest. The first one stepped backward, hand gripping the hilt of his axe and rushed in once more. A roar followed as their axes clashed once more, but this time the first one won the struggle, an axe swinging toward the monster's chest, causing the minotaur to collapse onto his back, a pained groan escaping his lips as he raised a fist and slammed it downward, a sudden spike rising from the feet of the remaining battle ox, making him get impaled, a pained final cry escaping his mouth as he shattered into crystalized fragments, the second one following moments afterwards.

"And that's how a duel here can go." the young woman smiled calmly while she looked at her brother. "So, I guess that was our little spectacle." However, a short pause followed before the elderly people cheered. "In fact, Duel Monster tournaments are special since they use special magic and devices to help make illusionary versions of what you just seen."

Regardless of the grievous injury sustained by one minotaur, the battle kept raging. Indeed they were simply summoned creatures, but whereas an ordinary human might have backed down from such a blow, a weak summon might have simply been dispelled, prematurely putting an end to the battle. Alas, that didn't happen here. Though it got hard to follow the two identical creatures as they got more and more into their battle, Alisa took to identifying the two by the wounds they'd gradually sustained. Little by little they injured each other's bodies, but not their fighting spirit, and blow by blow the battle finished only when the first injured Minotaur pierced his rival with a spike coming up from the ground.

As the cleverly put on show came to a close, Alisa expressed her appreciation with a smile on her face and a slow clapping, soon followed by a round of applause by the initially elderly crowd. Naturally, a live show about a children's card game drew the attention of other children and their parents until they outnumbered their elders. Regardless, with the end of the show came a return of their suddenly not so interesting games... But the sculptress refused to peel her eyes away from the pair of siblings and the older one's magic:

"Seems to me they should be paying you for advertising.", spoke the tall, statuesque woman with the scarf around her neck. As the show ended, she stylishly uncrossed her legs and stepped back, leaving her two chairs intact for the time being as she approached the pair, resting a hand on her hip.

With the battle settled Seta turned to the audience, her gaze turning at the woman who approached her. "Considering Duel Monsters is developed by my family it would be rather ironic for me to see that happen." For a moment her lips curved up into a smile. Of course, she didn't decide to reveal the existence of the millennium rod and the fact she obtained the mysterious abilities behind her magic. Nonetheless, a hand raised to her hip while she asked the stranger. "However, you seem like you have a fair amount of knowledge and experience on magic yourself." Seta's statement was clearly laced with a hint of curiosity, but after a moment Mokuba bounced to her side. "So~ Pretty neat right? Sis is training hard so that she can become able to obtain the power to do even more amazing stuff! Maybe she can even find the legendary-"

However, before Mokuba could finish his sentence Seta's hand covered his mouth as she hummed softly. "As my brother was saying, I am currently trying to obtain a better means to employ my magic." Mokuba nodded his head in confirmation. "Either way, that's enough performances for now I guess..."

"Oho... So you're the self promoting type~", she'd comment, raising an eyebrow, "Still, such showmanship can only come from a genuine love of one's art."

Indeed, no way Alisa could have guessed the maker/owner of a card game to be a cool, stylish go getter who would put on shows in public, expecting most such businessmen to hire showmen to do it for them. The odds of one such game having such an owner were low to begin with, and for that owner to choose this quaint place for her show. Far too coincidental for her to guess such a thing... But she might actually get there, in time:

"A mage is only as good as what she knows.", Alisa answered coolly, dismissively even; she expected any mage with the tiniest bit of pride in their art to do the same, and learn as much about not only their specific breed of spellcasting, but magic as a whole.

All the power in the world matters little if you come under attack by an unknown magic with the potential to bring you down... While a natural intellect defenitely helped, her usage of magic drove Alisa to sharpen her mind as much as she'd strengthen her body, striving for a keen balance of both to make a stronger magic fighter.

"Hmm, if that's what you're after, you should stop by the arena. No better way to improve your magic than testing it on somewhat willing opponents~", she'd assess, rubbing her chin as a somewhat impish smirk drew on her lips...

The tone spoken by the sculptress did quite a good job getting her pride as a duelist stirred. The invitation to challenge a skilled opponent with her magic certainly was tempting, and it didn't help that Mokuba was bouncing around in excitement. "Accept it Sis! Accept it Seta! It's an awesome way to try her magic!"

Mokuba seemed rather eager to lead the people to lead toward the arena. He bounced around with an grin of an excitement. "Miss, do you want to join us?" She looked at the pink haired girl wondering if she would join her. However, as she was guided by her brother toward the arena she turned toward the sculptress and explained calmly. "Although I currently am able to summon the Battle Ox, I'm afraid I can't call forth more powerful beings yet."

However, as they arrived at the arena Mokuba seemed quite interested in the situation. "Will you be fighting Battle Ox miss?" It appeared the boy was quite excited at the thought of the mysterious beauty would be fighting the giant minotaur. How much would she be able to deal with that type of fight? It clearly was an exciting thought...

"Oh, I fear that wouldn't prove that fun a challenge.", Alisa said, shaking her head, waving her hand dismissively

Fully aware that she avoided mention for whom would it not be a challenge, the sculptress disliked boasting about her abilities, instead keeping them secret until the moment she could use her to finish off an opponent. Yet that unshakable, faint smiling cool - without the slightest concern at facing the minotaur - betrayed her confidence, and she cared little of it. It wouldn't pose a challenge for her, (as she'd seen the beast's power first hand enough to isolate a myriad ways to finish it off), but not for the summoner as Alisa wasn't the kind of warrior who could hold back and give her foes a fighting chance.

Lumen on the other hand, looked at Alisa resolutely, nodding affirmatively with the kind of look in those jeweled amber eyes she seldom had. Intrigued, Alisa, raised an eyebrow, stretching out a hand and accepting the girl's glasses and jacket when she offered them. Though dressed in a sweater not unlike Alisa's, the Litwick looked ready to take the card summoner up on her offer:

"Though it appears my partner wants to take up your offer. She could definitely use a workout, so, why not?", she shrugged and chuckled in amusement, clearly interested in seeing not only how the battle ox fared against a different opponent, but also how would Lumen face an opponent twice as big as her, "She's all yours~"

With this the summon raised her hands in front of her face, the well practiced stance of a martial artist, well guarded and light on her feet, watching every move from her opponent who, for now, remained only the card summoner. Meanwhile, Alisa simply gave the girl her distance and rested her hand on her waist, expectantly...

Watching Lumien take an combative stance Seta looked slightly bewildered but decided to finally accept the offer. A few steps backward followed as she decided to address her. "Very well, let's see how your companion handles it then." A tap onto her deck caused a similar card to emerge in her hand, a sudden illuminating glow emerging on the ground between herself and Lumien, the Battle Ox clenching his fists.

"Ready? Here we go." A nod at the summoned monster making the creature charging forwards toward Lumien, a forwards jab toward her head following and soon after making the punch bounce backward in an attempt to see how she would react. Meanwhile, Seta looked with a hint of curiosity at the fight. "I wonder if I should try to summon another creature, it might be possible..." the brunette mused softly. She was a bit curious to try it out, but then again to summon a monster was rather intensive for her.

"So, I remember I haven't heard your or your companion's name. My name is Seta Kaiba, and this is my little brother Mokuba." The boy happily raised his hand, seemingly quite happy to see the duel going on. So far he was quite excited to see the fight unfold.

The two meter tall beast ran forwards from roughly five meters away; and Lumen kept her eyes firmy locked onto his torso while taking short, quick steps back. This drew out her foe's actual run up distance to roughly seven meters before her eyes caught wind of a right jab thrown her way, ready to hit her from just over a meter away.

Despite the comparative swiftness of the punch, a larger opponent gave a far more visible announcement, not to mention Lumen's small size also gave her a natural aptitude at getting out of its way. Yet ultimately, only thanks to moving back was she able to lower and lean to the left, at the same time as she turned her torso clockwise. This would allow her to roll with a punch should she prove unable to hit him.

Fortunately, it narrowly missed her, grazing her right forearm. And at that moment, Lumen properly flowed into her counter attack. Her right wrist rolled and grabbed hold of her foe's wrist, pulling him into the direction of his previous movement. Her foe may be stronger and heavier, but with the bulk of his momentum applied straight forwards, that left him open just enough.

In tandem with her pull came a stomping, downwards left kick to the bull's kneecap, angled enough so that knee wouldn't turn left or right, but instead absorbed all the impact directly, mostly likely breaking it. Either way, a direct hit to the knee could stagger anyone, no matter how big or strong. Indeed Lumen was by no means super strong, yet she had the physical fitness of a peak human, and her opponent wasn't particularly tougher either.

And the very moment her knee hit connected, she followed up with a snapping left chop towards her staggered foe's neck, right at that unguarded spot between helmet and armor. She'd time this with ear piercing, screeching Kiai, activating a strength debuff and further weakening her foe...

"Hmmm~ Seems Lumen has been practicing when I'm not with her. Good to know~", Alisa assessed hand on her chin as she watched the fight, confirming her partner had all but mastered her new body, learning simple principles and techniques should apply to whatever martial art she chose. She peeled her eyes away for only a brief moment, focusing on the summoner with a welcoming smile, "I'm Alisa Vollan, and that's Lumen. Pleasure to make your acquaintance~"

The Number One Duelist:

Seta Kaiba

The beast seemed quick to realize his opponent's intentions, the small steps backwards and the combative stance of the girl making him continue his charge. Perhaps he was confident that whatever she had planned, he would be ready for it... or maybe he simply had an idea of his own.

Watching his punch smoothly sail past the pink-haired girl due to her swiftness and smaller size, the moment she lowered herself and leaned to the left, allowing her to miss the straight jab that came from the Minotaur's right arm and yet it also granted her the ability to provide a counter-attack. Grazing her right forearm the minotaur watched Lumen's right wrist roll and attempt to grapple a hold of his wrist, upon which the beast quickly pushed out in his left arm in an upwards sweep, attempting to rotate it so that not only would her attempt to grapple a hold of his wrist be negated, but if he was lucky the forceful sweep might briefly grant him a chance to open her guard!

It was the next part however that was more complicated to deal with. Considering her smaller size Lumen had it easier to deal with the lower parts of the Minotaur, so when she attempted to make a left kick toward his kneecap the minotaur decided to lift his leg upwards, angling his leg and knee slightly to the right so that rather than hitting him straight on the kneecap, the blow would land against the side, which still hurt a fair amount compared to what one would have expected from a girl like that!

It was at that moment, after countering her initial two attacks that the sudden left chop toward his neck was made, leaving the Minotaur who had used his left arm to parry her earlier blow to try to grapple a hold of her wrist and if successful fling her forwards, hoping to make her stagger while he turned his body to the right along with the throw, his right hand clenching into a fist once more as he attempted to strike the back of her head.

However, the war-like cry that came from Lumen made Seta's eyes sharpen, the powerful screech enough to weaken the Minotaur's strength and likely reduce the strength of his punch a fair bit. It was clear even the beast knew this for he made a few quick steps backward and awaited the girl's next course of action.

After her foe had been pulled, his reaction to her grapple would have been too slow to achieve little. As he went for a long sweep with his left underneath his right arm, Lumen yielded and let go of the grapple on his wrist, for it no longer mattered. Though the minotaur successfully rid himself of the trap, this made it impossible for react to both moves, with their near simultaneous execution and his own unsteady footing. Attempting to rid himself of the destabilizing trap naturally provided the most immediate response to Lumen's counter attack, but would leave him unable to do anything about the stomp: If her foe actually tried going through with that jump with most of his weight onto the same leg, Lumen's kick - no matter how light would have immediately knocked him down.

But then, actually falling down greatly lessened Lumen's ability to hit his neck with a straight chop, so if anything, she'd only hiss as it struck against the hard helmet: As the armor too belonged to the summon, the shock would have hurt him just as much... Though this clearly wasn't a favorable trade for either of them.

Regardless, Lumen's offensive didn't stop for a second. The instant her stomping foot touched the ground on her foe's right side, she pushed off with the rear right foot in that direction, bringing both together in a stance closer to the minotaur's lowered torso, knees bent slightly for stability. She'd keep her arms crossed in front of her for protection, right elbow guarding her torso and left hand shielding her face. Yet this stance was a mere transition, lasting only an instant instant in the flow from one movement to another as it helped her reposition and strike from the weakened side in her foe's guard.

Thus when the two feet drew closer, she'd kick off explosively once again with her left foot, a pseudo dashing step sliding into a steady horse stance, her right side facing the minotaur's. As she advanced as her right elbow gored upwards, driven hard into the heavy oppoent's ribcage. As a result, her right foot would have trailed a near perfect L-shape on the ground, while its right twin moved comparatively little.

Striking a heavy opponent such as this was no easy feat however, and even snapping her left arm in the opposite direction didn't absorb enough momentum. This inexperienced outcome forced Lumen back a single step, forcing her right foot back...

The Number One Duelist:

Seta Kaiba

Poor Lumen, although she had the advantage in the form of the fact she was currently pressing the attack, her sidestep and rapid dash making her approach the Minotaur from the side, preparing to elbow the beast but by then it was already too late. What had exactly happened? The Minotaur had secretly activated his special ability, coating his body in a thin layer of mana that allowed him to shrug off the staggering effects of opponent attacks. Certainly, the blow of her elbow against the right side of his ribcage was painful, causing a grunt from the beast

Yet at the same time it seemed he ignored the attack like a true berserker, taking a swift step forwards toward her direction, his left hand reached for her chest, attempting to grab a hold of her while at the same time his right leg swept toward the back of her knee, hoping to throw her off balance, upon which he would send a straight jab with his right punch toward her stomach to make the poor lass hit the ground, ready to pin her down should he be given the opportunity!

Indeed, the minotaur itself had little means of escape such a powerful attack from up close, but even though it couldn't escape, he had other ways of dealing with it. The recoil from her elbow strike pushed Lumen a meter back further than she anticipated, and meant when the minotaur attempted to grab her by the chest, the Litwick could see and react to it. Though she couldn't exactly stop it while staggered.

"Oh, how perverted...", Alisa noted; having seen that 'move' one too many times to know what the ox tried to grab.

Though he didn't successfully grab her chest, he did get her shirt which more than sufficed for his purpose... But hers just as easily: As he grabbed her, Lumen's arms came together to strike her foe's left - a scissoring, double strike on the offending arm. Shrug it off he may, yet the moment that scissoring, double palm strike hit the outside of his elbow and the inside of his wrist simultaneously, the overextension and resulting, excruciatingly painful fracture would immediately loosen his grip. With his elbow bent backwards, bones fractured and tendons torn, a simple immunity to pain couldn't bypass such an anatomical impossibility.

That said, his lack of pain also ensured no amount of damage Lumen could deal would stop his punch to her gut. Her eyes went wide as the smaller girl could only feel thankful the minutaur had been weakened to her own strength. Yet without his grip on her shirt, his powerful punch instead tripped her over his leg and sent her flying a good couple of meters back, courtesy of the difference in weight. Lumen yelped, grunted and rolled backwards as she finally braced herself on one knee, spitting out some blood as she caught her wind back, now four meters away from the enemy...

Spoiler:

Took D-rank punch to the gut, dealt two C-rank (2x D) to arm, breaking it, rolled back 4 meters away.

The Number One Duelist:

Seta Kaiba

It was rather fortunate that the Battle Ox was quite endurable for a summoned creature, while she struck his elbow and wrist the beast angrily ignored the pain coursing through his body as a result of his spell and instead let out a feral warcry, the roar filling the arena as his leg sweep had made Lumen be sent flying several meters backwards. Although he might have been injured, he was still far from out of the battle, rushing toward the poor lass just as she rolled backward. Clenching his arms the beast seemed faster than before, courtesy of his warcry that had enhanced his speed to the point that when she rolled backward and braced herself on one knee the beast had already crossed two and a half meters and was not that far away from being straight in Lumen's face when the beast lunged his left fist forward, the impact of his knuckle into the sand causing a small wave of sand to be launched into her direction, but this was merely a decoy for by the time the sand wave would come crashing down Lumen would find that the sand behind her would have stirred, a long spike made of hardened quartz lunged upwards from a 45 degrees angle. While it was a brutal move that could possibly impale her if she didn't react quick enough, it was the moment when she tried to dodge it that his true motive would be revealed.

With his hands raised upwards and his charge resumed, the way he opened and closed his hands while staring straight at Lumen's chest might had made the sculptress be reminded of a certain small obsidian-haired pillow loving trickster, and even Mokuba noticed it, a hand reaching for his eyes. "I-Is he going to try to grope her?!" But Seta's expression remained focused like a hawk, for she was aware that if the Minotaur reached Lumen and she was still busy with dodging, that little would stop the minotaur from wrapping his arms around her and pull her upright into a bearhug while he tried to clench her as much as possible, not exactly a useful decision considering his strength was sapped by her earlier screech. But maybe he just wanted to give her a hug? who knows, the feeling of her small chest against his muscular body did produce a pleasant sensation... at least if he caught her, but he would flex and make sure she'd know how much he appreciated small pillows!

Seeing the giant ox charge at her, Lumen moved immediately, springing to her feet, bouncing her weight between her, raising her guard firmly as a bit of blood yet trailed down her lip. Seeing it lunge his fist, she expected another punch like his first one and immediately dodged. Not with a large dash with a simple diagonal step, backwards and left, just under a meter. She did this once before seeing the creature punch the ground, and, knowing some manner of attack had to come from it, performed two more dashes, thus roughly maintaining the distance.

This allowed the one meter wide spikes to easily pass her by, then again, it seemed like the Battle Ox never intended to hit them in the first place. He's raise his hands upwards, and this sight made Lumen widen her eyes. Despite being comparatively innocent, she understood what this meant very well:

"Your summon's way too lewd Seta~", Alisa teased, giggling in amusement, despite narrowing her eyes with a knowing smirk, "...But, even cute little Lumen might get annoyed at that."

And annoy her he did. Lumen's quick dashes forced her foe to constantly turn with his heavy body, reducing his ability to pick up speed. She only stopped when he reached about two meters from her, and at that point she'd pause before dashing not backwards, but forwards:

"IYAAAAAA!", yet this kiai was closer to a screech, enough to make anyone's ears grate and weaken the minotaur's endurance. Though her pause might have prompted her foe to open his arms and attempt to squeeze her, Lumen's dashing forwards accompanied a straight forwards snapping upper which would quickly nail her foe in the jaw, the impact reverberating through his skull and knocking it out; the kind of impact to knock out even the toughest of fighters.

With the distance between them just under two meters, the combination of their collective speeds and the length of Lumen's arms guarenteed this punch struck at roughly 130 milliseconds. Perhaps an expert martial artist such as Alisa or some of her guildmates could react on such a short window, but even they would struggle. For less experienced ones like Lumen or the Ox summon, such a narrow window fully exploited an opponent's advance for a textbook interception, giving neither of them room to see the attack.

The Number One Duelist:

Seta Kaiba

Watching the girl quickly dodge to the side was somewhat disappointing, perhaps because the Battle Ox had not expected some sort of evasive maneuver, clearly having forgotten that Lumen had seen this attack before. Their collective dashes came, and although they were roughly the same in power and endurance, the beast's larger frame and attempt to pull her into a bearhug had been a fatal mistake. Seta had already taken a step forward, a hand reaching for her deck yet at the last moment her fingertips merely stroked over the holster while Mokuba blinked in confusion. "You're not going to use it Seta?"

No, there was no need for her to spoil every trick in her book to Alisa, so when Lumen's punch hit the Minotaur the brunette had turned her summon into a sacrificial goat so to speak, the giant beast toppling backward onto the sand with a heavy thud as his body started to shimmer lightly before suddenly exploding in a small flurry of crystalized fragments, not a single trace of his existence remaining.

Seta had already raised a hand to her cheek, seemingly musing something in thought while Mokuba happily clapped his hands together. "Guess that's the end of Battle Ox versus Pretty pink-haired lady!"

Was the Ox actually trying to grope Lumen's rather modest bust? Or did it actually have a plan in mind to defeat her? Seems they may never find out for even Alisa struggled to see this attack before it had landed, but once it did, the battle was over. The battle Ox vanished into a rather pretty cloud of shimmery dust, and even though they'd just been fighting and Lumen had been pretty annoyed, she almost looked a little disappointed her training buddy had suddenly up and vanished.

"Well, and that's the end of that... Good fight~", Alisa praised the two of them, before Lumen too brought her fist and palm together and bowed respectfully to her dispersed opponent, showing she'd learned more than just techniques when deliving into martial arts.

It looked like the summoner still had other cards up her sleeve, but the sculptress expected no less. If anything, she might even have summoned two different minotaurs, but at that point it would have hardly been a fair fight. But if Alisa had interfered, it still wouldn't have been a fair fight.

"Perhaps later once Lumen grow stronger, she can help you train some of your stronger summons~", offered the sculptress, walking up to her partner and returning the girl's glasses as she wiped some of the snow off her outfit, before shooting that curious look of shimmering amber to the cute little brother.
