The Final Piece ♫ Empty Sun Feb 04, 2018 9:40 pm

Arthurias

Crowley, born as Arthurias Davere di Fioria, was the son of Augustus Davere de Fiora and Marceline Andares de Fiore and the younger brother of Helena Emeraldes de Fioria. They were what was considered royalty at the time, those who had the closest blood relationship to the Crown of the country. In fact, their relationship was not that of cousins or far-fetched family, but Augustus was the younger brother of Zantedeschia di Fiore, previously known as Zantedeschia Armande di Fioria. The current king, his uncle, had been a part of his childhood ever since he could remember.

His father, Augustus, never had an interest in becoming the ruler of the country. He disliked the political games that were played in the capital city and instead decided to use his authority to rule over the lands in his command as good as possible. The relationship between Zantedeschia and Augustus became colder when Zantedeschia kept trying to expand the borders of the country to please the nobility and kept requesting men from Augustus' region. Augustus had seen what the war had caused would no longer oblige into satisfying his older brother's demands to leave behind a generation of children growing up without fathers, and wives raising them without their husbands.

When Zantedeschia's health became an issue, he believed that the nobility was scheming behind his back to find a successor. Since Zantedeschia had no children, it would go to Augustus and then his children. Unwilling to accept that, and driven by madness, he carried sent out an order to assassinate Augustus under the guise of a revolt taking place in his lands, or perhaps foreign invaders with whom he had possibly conspired against him. It didn't matter; in the end, Zantedeschia would find a false reason to cover it up. Meanwhile, he invested most of the money which was reserved to invest into the infrastructure for the future of the country in his research to find a way to extend his lifespan. The moment he came back to his senses when they told him that they had found a method to cure him, the assassination of his younger brother and the entire family had already taken place.

Unknown to his knowledge, the youngest, his nephew, had survived the whole ordeal. Along with the person whom he considered his brother, he had fled from the incident. Icarus, who had been seen Zantedeschia countless times along with his men, recognized one of the assailants. After explaining everything to Arthurias, the two of them formed a plan which would affect and shake the country's foundation. After a few years, they found out that Theseus was still alive and sent to be executed in Era for the death of Arthurias' family. Apparently, they had brought out the story as an internal uprising.

When Arthurias and Icarus had regained their power, they had their first targets in mind, the Solace. At its head stood Cornelius Barlais le Solace, a cousin of their father and the king. He was a crude man who appeared gentle to the world outside that could not be grasped by commoners. His sickening tendencies secretly revealed itself in the form of hunting commoners who he had kidnapped. Cornelius was also the one who shared the borders of his land with their father and the only person being able to navigate that easily through Augustus' properties with such a large group at night without alerting anyone else. When they confirmed their suspicions, they started what would become known as a reckoning amongst the nobility.

The entirety of the country had fallen into chaos. Quickly, Arthurias' militia began to grow in numbers. No beautiful lies were told to reach these numbers. Instead, they all sought out Arthurias to aid him after they found out that he was behind the murder of the Solace. Families who had lost their relatives to these actions, and families who were involved in similar situations involving the invincibility of nobility all supported. In time, his militia got dubbed as Grimoire Heart as a reference to their hearts after all wrongdoings by the wicked games of nobility. He knew the ranks of the Crown were filled with nobles who got assigned to the safest and most prestigious role to guard the king because of their ties. Meanwhile, Grimoire Heart was mainly composed of those who were willing to give their lives for a shared ideal.

Today, Arthurias would reveal himself to the bubble which the nobility considered their small world. He would reveal himself to his uncles, aunts, and cousins, and murder his uncle, Zantedeschia di Fiore with his own hands.

#2Theseus

The Final Piece ♫ Empty Sun Feb 04, 2018 10:33 pm

Theseus
Theseus slowly followed Arthurias by his left side towards the place they knew the royals were hiding. If he could recall his happiest moments, it would be serving Augustus and Marceline and protecting Helena and Arthurias. They were the most kind-hearted people he had ever met in his entire life. He didn't expect much from nobility, but his opinion eventually changed after spending time with them. Theseus was the son of a city guard, not a person held in high esteem by the knights who would come in and out of the city. But no one could protect the citizens better than this father. He knew the people and cared for them and their safety, while the knights were only after fame and prestige.

At a young age, his father, the only caretaker he had, passed away. His mother had died at his birth, but his father had never shown any behavior towards him indicating that he blamed Theseus for that. Instead, his father became both his father and mother. He learned everything ranging from taking care of himself to taking care of the community from his father. When he passed away, Theseus had a hard time, and when he attempted to apply for the city guards, he was considered too hotheaded.

Too ashamed of his rejection, he secluded himself and continued his training. One night, he witnessed something that was not considered unusual around the parts that he lived. In secret, extorters would target families that had no ways to protect themselves and force them to pay up money. That night, it went further than that. He saw a young girl almost getting raped by these scum because her father no longer had any means to pay them. Theseus got beaten to an inch of his life after murdering the entire group and was sent to a hospital, only be to be sent towards to gallows afterward.

Something changed his fate, however. Augustus heard of his story and paid for his medical bills and requested him to be sent to him to get punished by him under the guise of noble sentencing the culprit on his lands. When Theseus had recovered, Augustus sentenced Theseus to retribution by community service for their family. It was not anything that someone would consider community service. He got educated to refine the mastery over his abilities and during this entire period. When he was done, Augustus told him he was free to leave with a generous amount of jewels to take care of himself and protect others ever in need in the future.

Theseus had never held the nobles in high regards, but he had changed his mind. Augustus accepted it, and after a few years, Theseus became their most trusted guard, the captain of the household knights protecting their family. He became very close to Helena and Arthurias during this period and felt as if he was doing the right thing in his life. He had heard of fancy banquets hosted by nobles to show off their wealth to other nobles but never had he seen such high nobility never hosting a banquet for other nobles. Whenever a dinner was hosted, all of the citizens of the lands were invited to come and have a good time at the castle.

These commoners, mostly farmers, were treated as nobility, even better actually. Their entire families were well fed, well entertained, and were allowed to stay over at the rooms in the castle, while being served by the same servants as Augustus and Marceline. Never did the servants complain about this, for they were also aware of how well they were treated. It was then that Theseus truly understood the meaning of the noblesse oblige. He had heard of the concept that extended the meaning nobility beyond mere entitlements and required the person who held such a status to fulfill social responsibilities but had never seen it before.

Theseus eventually found out that Augustus had no actual wealth since all his money was invested into citizens of his lands. Since he would lose the backing of other nobles and his property with that, if they ever found out that he possessed no actual wealth, all the servants decided to remain by their side and uphold the act pretending their wealth. Never did they ask the servants do this, but the people knew that Augustus and Marceline had to be in charge of these lands. They knew that Augustus and Marceline never considered themselves as owners of this land and its people, but as servants of the people and their needs and that this could only be accomplished if the rest of the nobility believed them to be as rich as they were.

In time, he fell in love with Helena. Some said it was impossible to not fall in love with her because of her beauty, but Theseus wasn't the type to be susceptible to that.  He didn't know that he would eventually still fall in love with her, not for her looks, but for her kindness, wits, and view on life. She was the brightest person that he had ever met. Unfortunately, Theseus was afraid that he would get scorned for getting too close to Helena for he was as dull commoner in the end and she was the daughter of the king's younger brother.

Tears started to well up in Theseus' eyes as he recalled these memories, because what happened next indeed revealed to him that the ones he had served could still prove him wrong after all those years. When Helena told her Augustus and Marcelina, they called Theseus and asked him if it was true that he had feelings for their daughter. He was under the impression that it would be the end of their relationship, but remained loyal and not willing to deceive them after all these years, he admitted and expressed his feelings.

The two never sent him away after that confession. Instead, they accepted him even closer than they did before, as their son-in-law who would take care of their daughter as her husband when they were gone. Arthurias, still young, had already told everything to his parents. He stood behind Augustus along with Icarus pulling on his dad's sleeve to come closer to him to whisper something. As his dad lowered himself to Arthurias' mouth, he could hear the boy asking if he and Icarus could finally call Theseus older brother now that he was going to marry his sister.

Theseus wiped the tears from his eyes, deciding to no longer linger the past again. Even though Helena would've not liked what he was doing now, he was not going to end his vengeance today.

#3Icarus

The Final Piece ♫ Empty Sun Feb 04, 2018 11:08 pm

Icarus
Icarus slowly followed Arthurias by his right side towards the place they knew the royals were hiding. With Damocles in his right hand, he was ready to exact his revenge upon anyone deserving it. They would not take the lives of anyone willing to give up, but those who still showed the willingness to give their lives for the Crown would all be executed. As they were going higher and higher, Icarus' emotions became wilder than ever.

While his expression still remained stoic, his grip on Damocles tightened fiercely. He wanted to make them bleed for Art-, no their parent's death. For the death of their siblings. They may have not shared any blood, but they were his family. He understood that Arthurias would most likely want to do deal with it personally, but if possible he would pleased to execute them himself. Icarus had seen the lifeless bodies of his family on the ground.

As a young child, Icarus had been arrested by the Rune Knights for stealing an expensive ring from a wealthy lady. When she heard about what had happened and the boy's background, she requested the Rune Knights to release him since no harm was done in the end.

That night, she returned home with a young child in ragged clothes hiding behind her dress. Icarus could still remember peeking from behind her when they entered through the doors, staring at the face of a boy who seemed to be the same age as him. Without much delay, she ordered servants to bathe him, feed him, and give him a room of his own. Somehow, Icarus felt threatened by the situation, assuming the worst that could happen.

Despite knowing how he felt about it all, he could not help but feel tired when he placed his head on an actual pillow after years. Nevertheless, he had not survived all these years by putting down his guard. He convinced himself not to fall asleep, assuming that at any moment someone would come in the room to finally punish him for stealing her ring.

It was at that moment that he could hear the door open slowly. The room was dark and not much could be seen. Icarus clenched his fists, preparing himself mentally to fight back any servant who assumed that he would go down easily. Instead, the boy he saw before carefully entered the room. His face was only partly visible, but he could see a smile on his face. Icarus wanted to say something, but he noticed that the boy had a finger in front of his mouth to sign him to be quiet.

"I apologize, I did not want to wake you up. Mother told me to let you sleep, but I'm just excited to find out that you'll be my brother. My name is Arthurias, from this day on we shall look after each other, like brothers, right?" Icarus felt no sign of malice in the boy's voice, but didn't reply. The boy hopped onto Icarus' bed and pulled out an orb which started to glow, dimly lighting up the room.

As Arthurias sat in front of Icarus, he brought out a book from under his expensive robes. "I was going to read this book and thought that maybe we could read it together? Do you know how to read? It doesn't matter, I'll teach you! It's about a magician who roams across the world and rights the wrongs of others. His name is Crowley." That night, Icarus opened up a little bit, and the two spent all night reading the book till they fell asleep. Icarus longed those days.
