So far, Alisa had been genuinely enjoying her time in Baska, even if the very reason why she visited had yet to present itself. The allure of a potentially high ranked mission (A-rank hopefully) drew her in, and so far she'd been doing whatever quests she did find side by side with Arisa. They'd slowed down a little bit in more recent days, but they were still making pretty good progress. However, she'd yet to lay eyes on that particular job. Meanwhile, she kept herself busy making new connections and running into some old ones, pretty much suggesting everybody and their mother had the same idea as her... Well, some of them any ways...

It got to a point of waking up every morning wondering if she might not meet somebody she hadn't seen in days, weeks, possibly even months...

"Will I meet anyone else today, I wonder~?", she thought out loud as she brushed her hair down, two or three strokes of her hand more than sufficing for that natural straightness to do its thing and leave her hair as flawless as any of those people might be used to seeing. From then, all she had left to do was pick out an outfit, which also meant picking out what kind of workout she'd carry out this morning.

A single glance outside the window revealed a somewhat sunny day, with occasional wandering clouds providing some overcast moments. No chance of rain whatsoever, at least, not in the next few hours. A soft smile drew on her lips as she figured now might be a good opportunity to try out that tennis club, right on the other side of her hotel. The two compounds were pretty much linked, and she'd seen some bolder guests dare try a game or two before the rain came pouring and sent them right back indoors...

Not today though, and this early in the morning, Alisa would beat them all to it, simply slipping on a pair of sneakers, a plaid skirt, and a blue polo, and stopping by to get herself a breakfast... Well, more like a pre-workout snack, a glass of orange juice and a banana, the later of which she took with her to the tennis court. Her stride cool and collected, her smile cooler and visibly delighted, the sculptress was obviously looking forward to a pleasant workout, as those wine red eyes of hers scanned the few living souls in the mostly empty court...

She had wanted to go somewhere interesting, where not everyone would be wondering who she was and the knights wondering what to do but to simply sit somewhere and feel like she belonged, which was a very difficult thing to do in Baska. It was a lovely day, which was a good thing, she had bumped into windy and rainy days the last couple of times that she went outside and it had annoyed her as well. Her mood today was definitely better although when she bumped into familiar faces she was always happy to see them.

She didn't know how she got here but she couldn't sleep well, there had been a lot of kicking and turning and eyes opening and closing again before she had given up. Which had made her sit upright and look if Kon was around, he was asleep and she didn't notice this time if there were any nightmares, he seemed to leave her alone from time to time. So she tiptoed out of the bedroom and changed into a loose fitting blouse, some pair of green trousers, her sneakers before getting back in the room, writing a note that she was out for a walk. She grabbed her blue backpack, her leather jacket and was followed by her companions who had woken up the moment she opened the bathroom door.

And now she was here, in the tennis club, she was sitting on some sort of platform terrace overlooking the courts where barely anyone was at the moment but it was nice to see some people tennis fanatically this morning, she only sat there sipping tea with a bit of honey and well she had been trying to eat a sandwich but it made her nauseous so she had an apple in little parts now, this condition of being pregnant sure made it difficult to pick whatever she liked considering food but she would hold on and it was already two-third through the due date, she could do this.

Indeed, she saw a very limited amount of fellow early risers... Had they all retreated indoors for fear of rain that wouldn't come soon, or werethere simply not many to be seen in this part of Fiore? In their defense, with the Fall already halfway through and winter on its way, both mornings and evenings got chiller and would only get more so in the days to come. Alisa, having come from the north, had a natural tolerance to this cold, and her love of Summer helped her cope with her comparative intolerance to heat...

A chilly breeze brought goosebumps to her skin, promptly warmed by the budding rays of morning light peering past the roaming, tiny puffs of clouds. Yet as she went over to a big white cart to grab herself a ball, and then a spare racquet, she immediately noticed how this simple moment of cold sufficed to slow many of these player's movements... Not to mention how even at their fastest, most of them couldn't hold a candle to her, or

"At this rate, any match will be terrible one sided...", she sighed, thinking out loud to herself. Was coming here really that good an idea, "It might not even pass for a proper warmup."

As she walked around the courts, Alisa wondered just what she might do to still have her workout like she originally planned, casually bouncing the yellow ball up against the ground with every two steps. Every now and then another breeze sent her raven hair and plaid skirt rippling behind her, yet in those moments when tossed her head to one side - flipping her hair back in place without her hands to help her - Alisa finally caught a glimer of hope. Tall and beautiful, with long, ginger red hair, the Knight named Alice who once shared a battlefied with her at one point (and an ice ring at another) now sat idly among the stands overlooking the tennis court.

Looking up at the faraway woman, Alisa simply smiled and waved, wondering if that simple gesture might get her attention...

Alice was looking at Hecate and Jupiter and trying to finish her sandwich all the while trying to read the magazine that she had picked up from inside. The wind was making it a little difficult, having moments as if she was handling two children at the same time, she wasn't sure how to imagine when there would be third. She noticed shortly that Jupiter was getting up, and stared at something with a harsh look in his eyes. Thank god he wasn't simply throwing around lightning because she wouldn't be sure how to stop that at this point. Their first meeting was him electrocuting her, also the same day she figured out about the little peach. She wondered for a second how to work out a name because that's something she kept pushing away from her but that was because she didn't know what to do for a name considering Kon his family, who she had barely met only Aleksandr and that had been a while ago. Besides he had said he didn't want to use names from his family and she had pushed it away because they would have four months to go.. change that into three now.

In the corner of her own eye she spotted someone waving and she couldn't help but immediately turn to look at the person, she doubt the message would be for her but apparently it seemed to be like it was. She narrowed her eyes but quickly recognized the person and a grin spread across her face, "Alisa, hi!" She called out to make sure that her well friend did hear her. Perhaps not the best thing to do but she was enthusiastic to see her friend. She wondered if she should head down because Alisa was clearly dressed up as if she would play a round of tennis. She didn't feel like eating much more anyway so she took the stairs on the side of the terrace and headed down closer to the court so she wouldn't have to scream much more, "How are you?" she said softer when they were closer to each other, still having a fence and netting separating them so the tennis balls wouldn't be able to get to the terrace.

As she looked closely, Alisa also spotted something else different in her one time comrade in arms, and now hopefully friend. She accompanied herself by two small (and rather adorable) quadrupedal creatures, only a tad bit larger than the average dog. She had neither of those companions last time they met, and seeing this effectively confirmed her to be a beastmaster, as no other kind of fighter could command two such partners at once. Alas, she most certainly hadn't come to the tennis court to train her fighting beasts, but rather herself...

She noticed the waving sculptress eventually, simply smiling when the woman greeted her. She'd never been one for shouting, oddly enough considering she was prefectly capable of mouthing those eardrumb bursting battlecries in the heat of battle... Or when someone got her insanely pissed off, which happen once in a blue moon, if at all... Bottom line, neither of those two circumstances even remotely resembled the present one, and as such she simply waited for the orange haired beauty to come down to the court:

"Good morning Alice~!", she finally greeted, walking up and meeting her half way as arrived down from her perch, "Just waking up~", she noted almost playfully as she nodded towards the open courts; as expected of a woman who only truly woke up after she had a good morning workout, "...What about you? Did you come here to watch the matches or play one yourself."

That obvious hint of invested curiosity in Alisa's ruby eyes, the way she idly spun the racquet in her grasp, or bounced the ball down on the ground, pretty much said it all for her. The dark haired sculptress had obviously come down here to play, yet none of the other potential opponents save for Alice seemed to interest her in the slightest. Plus, she hadn't seen the Requip user in a good couple of months - since before the Grimoire attack on her guild - and this little friendly bout of tennis truly seemed like the perfect way to catch up with all the latest news in each other's lives... At least, whichever news both women would feel up for sharing...

While she headed down the stairs, she was of course followed by Hecate and Jupiter and for the first time she noticed that Jupiter wasn't so hesitant. Perhaps it was still the fence, but she could walk around and get to the point where there was nothing sepearating her and Alisa so she could talk without difficulty. Jupiter still seemed to be in his calm demeanor and Hecate was as curious as always. When she met up with Alisa, she immediately asked how she was doing to which she got the reply; just waking up. She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and look her up and down, "You look rather awake for a just waking up." she said with a chuckle and she looked towards the open courts that Alisa nodded at, was there someone waiting for her there? Was she holding her up. "Oh I actually came here to watch some matches. I don't have any racket or clothing to use to play tennis." her blouse wouldn't be much of a problem, her jeans however wouldn't be so comfortable but apart from; it would be dirty if she had no change of outfit after playing tennis, "I didn't know that you could simply play here. Don't you have to hire a court and the like?"

She was rather curious to know if she was able to, she remembered vaguely how fast Alisa was and she was sure she wouldn't be able to catch up but a friendly play would always be nice. On one hand she now made the assumption that no one was waiting on Alisa, maybe that's why she was spinning with the racket and looking around, she perhaps was looking for an oponent? "Are you waiting for someone specific or can I be the one you are now looking for? I wouldn't mind to try, but I have to say it's been a very long time ago that I played tennis." If Alisa would say that she was not waiting for someone, she was still with the issue of her clothing but if she could lend something here that would make it easier, if she would fit of course and she wouldn't mind. Tennis couldn't harm her much right?

Alisa took a curious moment look over Alice's companions up close, as she'd never done so before. One appeared nature aligned and the other lightning aligned, at least, going from their appearances alone. But with a stunning woman who she hadn't seen in so long right before her: She met that quizzical, almost doubtful look of the readhead's with a knowing smirk, tossing the ball a bit harder on the ground so it bounced higher, passing right in front of their eyes before falling back down, only to once again find itself in Alisa's waiting hand:

"The secret to being an early riser? Never miss your morning workout~", A little giggle left her mouth as she explained her choice of words. Unlike her, Alice had come by not to play games but watch some, explaining the less than fitting choice of sportswear - denim. But even then she could probably manage, judging by what Alisa had seen her do before. She crooked her brow, commenting on each of Alice's objections one by one, and sounding somewhat sure about the first ones more those she mentioned later. Yet even then, that uncertaintly obviously didn't stop her from wanting to play, "Well, you can get balls and racquets over there, and from what I know, you can use the tennis court if you're staying at the hotel."

But those next words made Alisa's smile widen with a hint of fighting spirit, as expected of a martial artist who just found an opponent whose power she held in high regard. It appeared great minds really do think alike as Alice arrived at the same conclusion Alisa did, how among everyone here she'd be the most fitting to in that field opposite her. Her speed might be slower than Alisa's, yet her strenght defenitely wasn't, and the sculptress soon wondered if these average racquets used by humans could actually withstand the full strength of powerful mages like themselves, the Knight's own strength looking like the most troublesome to do so.

"My thoughts exactly.", she winked and handed her the racquet in hand, going over to the rack and picking herself a new one, motioning Alice after her as she took her place on one side of the nearest unoccupied court, widening, lowering her stance ever so slightly as she prepared for the first serve, waiting for her opponent to prepare herself...

Alice her eyes followed the neon green ball as it fell from Alisa her hand and bounced back up to Alisa her hand and for a second the red head thought that it was a shame that the raven haired beauty was waiting for someone else. Little did she know yet. Jupiter never kept his eyes away from the tennis ball but Hecate was more interested in Alisa, who she walked towards as soon as they meet up on the other side of the fence. Which is where Alice mentioned Alisa being very much away for a just waking up and where Alisa told her that a morning workout was a miracle, something she had never thought or worked on. Perhaps she should do that as well, the only question was if she would be able to wake up in the morning, early morning, to do something.. perhaps there was a second question: to do what?

Her last question was how it worked to play tennis for this tennis club and Alisa simply explained to her that you could hire rackets and the neon green balls and that you have to stay at the hotel to be able to use it. Which made her look over her shoulder and nod, "So I assume you are staying over there?" She wasn't, she stayed at an inn, not far from here together with Konstantin. She might give it a try but would it be okay with the clothing that she was wearing? If she was able to fight in clothing, the movement and everything wasn't much different, it was even less bloody considering things.

That's when she asked Alisa if she was actually waiting on someone and the smile that appeared on the mage her face made Alice immediately smile as well, She wasn't entirely sure if she was able to do anything, like she said, it had been a long time since she had played tennis, perhaps in the orphanage, but of course she couldn't remember. She knew the rules a bit, that's why she had made the assumption. But it was nice to know that Alisa was thinking the same and Alice shook her head in a happy gesture and took the racket that Alisa was offering her, which made her follow the Blue Pegasus mage with her companions close by, although they couldn't join the court. "How did you end up in Baska?" She asked curiously for last time they met in Era before the whole shebang stared in Hargeon, where they both would have been present as they talked about it in Era. Not that Alice had any idea what the consequences had been.

She walked to the other side of the court and placed her feet in a stance to have balance but also to be fast, Alisa would serve and Alice would see how it goes but it should be fun first of all.

"You assume correctly~", nodded Alisa, sparing a single cursory glance, shifting her body to look at the hotel from where she'd just exited. She'd been staying there for a good few days now, and had to wonder just how much longer she'd yet be here before going off once again, to wherever the winds took her. So long as these many friends of her stayed, she might just hang around a bit longer, and perhaps spend the holiday season in Baska...

Actually, that wasn't such a bad idea at all: A time like this - meant to be spent with family - reminded her they were the few people she yet had to call family. Sure, she could go back home to the North and spend them with Uncle Gottfrid, but her gut told her he might very well scold her for it too. Despite delighting in having her around, she knew the former Knight valued bonds with one's comrades in arms, as highly as one's own blood.

"I came looking for work.", she explained as they each took their place opposite one another, with nothing but the net and racquets between them. As she held the ball, it was up to the sculptress to serve first, already feeling a hint of curiosity towards Alice's skills. The game itself though, was as much about spending a good time and catching up with each otherrather than just literally catching up to flying yellow balls, "Heard there was high rank mission in need of mages for hire, but I've yet to lay eyes on it. I don't assume you've heard anything about it either...?"

She'd come here for a little work out - looked wholly dressed for the part too - but that aside, Alisa was the furthest from a professional tennis player... She only rarely played the game and hadn't really taken any lessons either, but simply only taken to playing it after achieveing
a superhuman level of hand to eye coordination. And naturally, her form hinted at these difference. Instead of simply throwing the ball up, she threw it forward at an angle, and stepped forward the instant before striking with the racket. She had at least practiced this technique before the last few times she played tennis.

This meant Alisa struck the ball high, shooting it downwards towards the diagonally opposite side of the field, aimed to hit right into that serving box. The same forward momentum helping her propel the ball forwards using her natural speed also helped carry her a bit further towards the center, where she'd be in a better position to respond to a short return...

This explained why Alisa was able to use the tennis court, she stayed in this hotel. Alice simply nodded and gave another smile, "Oh well, why not?!" She giggled a bit, again she wondered how she used to play tennis as she could vaguely remember it, the way it worked. Missing her memory was still quite an issue, she had put the whole search for answers off as she had thought that meeting Lacie would give all the answers, but she still didn't remember anything between the age of eight and eighteen. Something else must have happened.

Because of her curiousity she asked Alisa how she ended up in Baska, which was an easy answer; she came to find work. The times she met Alisa, twice and briefly was also about preparing for other work, such as fighting a demon and training for the fight with Grimoire Heart that she was very aware about. She had volunteerd to go to Hargeon because of Alisa as one of the reasons; her friends in Blue Pegasus. She shook her head with Alisa her counter question, "No unfortunately. I am here on a break, not much work for me at the moment." Which was partly a lie and came with consequences as to why, "I got quite the injury in Hargeon so I need to take things slow." which wasn't a lie, her legs were quite alright and the walking around from Magnolia to here had been quite a journey which had made her tired enough and surely she had felt that but well the little peach didn't work wonders in that case as well.

She quickly felt quiet when Alisa threw the ball up in an angle ready to smash it to Alice her side. Her golden eyes took in the ball and the way Alisa held her racquet, she didn't want to miss the first hit already. She had no idea how many times Alisa would play tennis, simply because she definitely looked ready for a player and here she couldn't even remember when was the last time. She had to act quickly as she was standing at the back line, which was normal with tennis games, she wasn't the fastest but the court thank god wasn't that big compared to other distances that she had run and she quickly stepped forward to the point where she would be able to make a swing with her right hand to hit the ball to send it back over the net towards Alisa. She hit it upwards so it would come quite to the back but she was convinced it would stay within the lines.

She smiled at her friend's acceptance, visibly glad to have someone at her level of fitness with whom to play with. Said fitness naturally said nothing about one's skill, but then again Alisa wasn't exactly skilled either; just like Alice she hardly played this game at all, and all she could manage came down to remembering the rules.

"I'm sorry to hear that...", the sculptress' smile faded for a moment as she rest her hand on the redhead's shoulder. She didn't feel a need to ask whether or not she'd recieved this injury as a result of helping defend Blue Pegasus - not after hearing about the Rune Knights being there from the newspaper - for she doubted many had the strength to seriously hurt someone of her level. Thus, she rested one hand on the girl's shoulder, "And thank you... For helping us defend our home."

Alisa had no idea Alice was hiding something as to her business in Baska, anymore than she suspected most people to lie every so often. But after having fought beside the redhead at some point, she felt a measure of trust towards her, enough not to think too much on it even if the thought had crossed her mind; it was simply none of her business.

But once they started playing, the sculptress suddenly looked far more focused, not taking her eyes off Alice or the fuzzy yellow ball for a split second. That odd mix of laid back smile and concentrated eyes made it quite clear that she wasn't the type to hold back. Quite the opposite, she had her eyes on Alice as an opponent because she knew the girl could handle all Alisa could throw at her, and could defenitely win if the sculptress gave her any openings...

As a skilled martial artist, Alisa's heightened reflexes were a cut above most people... Yet at this distance, she couldn't exactly follow minute shifts from her opponent's body like she would at close quarters. She could, however, take note of the motions of her racquet, which in turn allowed her a decent idea of how to move next. Striking the ball upwards limited the angle on both her swing and especially the racquet, and between those Alisa simply trusted her instincts and move forward, right before the redhead would strike the ball back.

Against all but the highest of returns, Alisa's height allowed to intercept the ball right after it passed over the net with an overhead smash, which was exactly what she did. She closed the remaining distance in roughly a third of a second with a swift dash, but even then she had to stretch her arm out quite a bit to nail that interception. Her target? The side of the field opposite Alice, as far back as she could go, making it as hard as she could for her to strike it back.

Unless stopped, the ball would fly down on a straight, speedy path, hitting the ground within the lines - only an inch away from them - before flying off the field past the rear line for the first points.

She didn't exactly lie but it didn't feel good to not be honest about not telling Alisa everything, especially when the beautiful black haired woman thanked her for defending her home, "I can't say it was a pleasure but I didn't mind doing it. The injury is fine now, it's just a lot of pressure on my legs and..." she trailed off, she needed to say this positively and not for only information or the fact that she wasn't happy about it because that wasn't true. "Apart from that." she grinned because well if she thought about it in this way and the way Kon reacted now about the little peach made her indeed a bit happy, "I have a break from work because I'm expecting a little baby soon." She seriously hoped that Alisa would react positive, she wasn't sure if she could handle the negative reaction. Besides even though she was not part of the Rune Knights anymore, only in name because she needed to hide her identity, she still couldn't believe the council wouldn't hunt her down for telling people.

The tennis game was already intense after her first hit, with the smash high over the net and to the exact opposite corner, she tried to reach but she had not expected it and missed, first point for Alisa. She should be more centered in her own field so she would be able to reach every corner rather fast. She picked up the ball albeit with a little difficulty because of the hidden baby bump and walked back to the point where she would stand to serve. Which she did by throwing the ball up and slamming the racket as hard as she could against the ball to get it to the other side of the field.

Alisa looked somewhat relieved to hear she hadn't been too worse for wear as a result of their misadventures in Hargeon; the sculptress for one successfully caught her opponent off guard and walked away without a single injury... But she had no idea how'd she have fared against someone strong enough to hurt Alice. The next bit of news from the redhead did wonders to lighten the mood however:

"Oh my, congratulations~!", exclaimed the sculptress, her face brightening immediately with mixed surprise and joy for her friend, indulging her curiosity for a little while, inbetween their first two points, "You have a name already?"

She couldn't help but think if perhaps Alice wasn't too young to be starting a family already - especially in such a dangerous line of work - and afterwards her thoughts wandered to the father's indentity. Had she met him before by any chance? Maybe, maybe not...

Then again, that also left Alisa rethinking the decision to invite the girl to a high intensity tennis bout like only the two of them could have; enough she could hardly bring herself to smile confidently after scoring that first point. She twirled the racket as she took her position, already knowing Alice could only serve to the quarter opposite hers to count as a valid serve. Meanwhile, a quick inspection of the woman's form confirmed what she'd indeed noticed earlier, she had no visible baby bump, meaning she must still have quite a few months left; which in turn meant a little bit of exercise wouldn't bring any harm to her or her kid.

Finally, as the ball came at her, smashed all the way across the field, Alisa needed quite a bit of power to bounce it right back, attesting to Alice's strength. Yet she did so without punching a hole through the raquet, once more bouncing it towards the side of the field opposite Alice, where it would hit the ground past the serving line, and bounce outside of the field for a second point if not intercepted.

This wouldn't be nearly as effective as when Alisa intercepted the ball right above the net, and guessed Alice would have plenty of time to return it. But this also allowed the sculptress time to reposition, moving closer towards the center of her half...

Alice felt a bit embarrassed still about telling that she was pregnant but the reaction that Alisa gave her was a happy one and brought a smile on her face. "Thank you." she couldn't help but squeal a bit but in a good way. When Alisa asked if there was a name already she couldn't help but blush, "Ah no, we can't seem to figure it out. But we still have three months." She looked at her tummy for a second before she needed to work on the idea of getting a racket and start the tennis game with Alisa.

As she had served and moved this time to the middle of the field, expecting Alisa to do the same move but keeping an open mind, she remained where she was standing but jumped up to slam the ball back to the other side of the net, but also cut it short so it would immediately drop to the ground behind the net. When she landed she made sure to get closer to the net because if Alisa would be able to hit it, which Alice expected she would be able to only slam it closerly over the net probably because of the little amount of space. She couldn't help but suddenly have a question pop up in her mind, so while she focused on the ball and the rest of the game, she couldn't help but speak up, "What was the result of the attack in Hargeon? No one told me, after I got a month hospitalized and wasn't able to see anyone." which definitely brought her mood down, not even about talking about the attack but mainly the way the council had treated her.

At this point, Alisa's eyes widened, bewildered by such an unbelievable revelation, together with the knowledge that Alice must defenitely be going to great lengths just to hide her baby bump:

"You're only three months away...?", she asked, crooking an eyebrow, just to make sure she was hearing this right, "Color me impressed; Had you not told me, I wouldn't have seen it at all..."

Her opponent intercepted the ball rather quickly, and as she saw her move up into the air, Alisa took a step back. She needed the distance to deal with a seemingly powerful smash, intending to make full use of her high speed, which by extension relied on a ready reaction time. What she failed to account for was the relative lack of tension Alice returned the ball with, when compared to her actual strength.

With a lowered stance ready to spring to any direction and stop a fast ball, she instead had to step forward at an angle, sweeping her racquet low and bouncing the ball to the same side she'd shot it towards the first time. She put just enough power to send it back to Alice's side with a high arc, necessary due to how low she struck. If the redhead maintained her current position, the ball would likely fly overhead unless she jumped up to get it, and hit the ground a few meters behind before bouncing outside the field:

"Blue Pegasus and Phantom Lord both lost their guildmasters...", Alisa answered sullemnly, her smile fading for a short moment of mourning, "Snowflake is our new Master now."

She also wound up missing the Blue Pegasus beach party, but in the face of such grave news, mentioning that part didn't really seem appropriate...

"Ah.." Alice looked at her barely existing baby bump, "Well I was glad that it happened this way, the Rune Knights council wasn't all to happy when their lieutenant would be out of the routine for a while." But she didn't say anything about the Holy Knights, it still came to the same point, she also didn't lie, the Rune Knights had been angry at her for the whole ordeal, or so she believed. But Midas had been clear that it had not been his problem and that the Holy Knights were a secret. She didn't like to keep it a secret but if it was for the greater good, she would be able to.

She asked what was going on as she slammed the ball back to Alisa her side, which the beautiful mage managed to hit back to her, which went up into a high loop and she had to take steps backwards to catch it, which she quickly ran and jumped up, to hit back, but sanding with her back towards Alisa, she actually stood with her back towards the other side of the field, because of a sudden turn, "Snowflake?" She said surprised as Alisa had spoken, why did she not.. tell? Where they not really friends? She decided not to say anything about it, "What a tough role that must be." it would definitely not fit her, but hence that was why she had been fine with being a lieutenant. She turned around, not sure if the ball would have hit the right part of the court and so on. Phantom Lord's master though, interesting.

"Oh yes, I can only imagine the hassle of navigating through all that bureocracy...", answered Alisa, all but cringing at her own thoughts. Were the Knights so short of warriors that they'd oppose one of their finest from starting a family?

She shared the mindset and discipline of many individual knights, yet none of their love for the Magic Council, a council which - in her mind - had failed time and time again... While she obviously held no love towards it, she saw no reason to flaunt that dislike, not when many Knights (such as Alice) had earned her respect nonetheless.

Maybe one day their friendship would reach a point where they could comfortably debate politics and still call themselves friends afterwards...

Of course, Alisa also neglected pointing out how she'd much rather not have children at all, unwilling to bring a child into such a world. Then again, she also understood how many women who believe it at her age wind up changing their mind under different circumstances, with a different maturity. Right now though, she defenitely did not see that happening at all.

Alice's return however, made things difficult for Alisa. Unlike how she did it when the redhead faced forward, she found it next to impossible to predict where the ball would be shot towards, or how hard, before the time came to get moving if she were to have any hope of catching it. Understandably as even Alice herself didn't know this. Thus, this delayed Alisa's reaction and forced her to intercept the ball towards the edge of her size of the field, smashing it with her full power amidst a backwards step, towards the opposing side of the field. Like before she'd take aim at the side opposite her opponent, trying to land her ball as close to the edge as possible without yielding the point...

"Indeed... I probably wouldn't do it.", Alisa nodded, an uneasy smile drawing on her face. She loathed any and all notions of chaining herself down, and leading a guild fit that description like a glove, "Have you met Snow before?", inquired the curious sculptress trying to approach the center of the field before Alice's next return.

She shouldn't say more, bath mouthing about the Rune Knights was still something she couldn't do. Perhaps it was a whole set up and was it a lie, it had been an awful experience that much was true. Yet she didn't want to think too much about it so she decided to leave it be and simply let the whole idea falter. She was a Holy Knight now and Midas had said it was okay. Perhaps this whole talk came to an end yet Alice wanted to say something. Having met Alisa only a couple of times, but considering her already a friend and quite dear to Alice, she had to say this now, before the match would start, "Something else, I'm getting married in March and I hope you would want to come to the wedding. It will be held in Orchidia but not much yet is figured out." She blushed again because it felt so stupid to invite someone to your wedding, when you barely knew anything about the wedding. All they knew it was that they would held it in the manor in Orchidia. Would she push Alisa too much by asking her to come to her wedding? Would the Blue Pagasus mage accept even if she didn't want to come?

~

Alice had hit the ball in a rather odd way and quickly turned around to return to the middle of the field so she could follow the ball as Alisa managed to slam it back, she first had the intention to let it go, hoping it would miss the line and be out, but since she was too afraid to miss that point again, she simply hit it back to the part immediately opposite her on the other side of the field. She liked how they seemed to match at this point, but she kept walking on the edge, there was going to be a second point for Alisa and it was coming rather soon, she was afraid. "Yes, I met Snow in Magnolia a couple of times and about a month ago here in Baska. We were send on a quest together." Which always seemed to happen when she bumped into Snowflake. She had only not told her at that point that she was the Guildmaster but well in all fairness; she would probably have done the same. It didn't change who Snow was anyway. "I also invited her to the wedding."

At this point, Alisa lacked any and all reasons to assume Alice was no longer an average knight, nor could she tell truth from myth when it came to the Holy Knights. It's not as if she'd ever met anyone, and very little else could prove they actually existed. But then, it appeared Alice had other important things to discuss other than her career in the Magic Council:

"Oh my...", her brow raised slightly, somewhat taken aback by the unexpected invitation. Indeed, they'd met no further than three times, and one of those they hardly had a chance to talk. At the same time, they'd also fought together against a big bad demon, which naturally made them closer than most, "Sure, I'll gladly stop by~"

And three months is more than enough time to pick herself a new dress just for the occasion. True, Alisa guessed Alice would likely wish to to marry before her child was born (assuming she wasn't already married), understandably so as the young one would need both parents, more so than most if such a thing were even possible. Being a Rune Knight was as dangerous a profession as being a wandering mage like Alisa, if not more so...

"What I don't know is, who's the lucky one?", she'd inquire curiously, looking like Alisa clearly had to get all these questions out of the way, lips widening into a quizzical smirk, "Someone I've met, I hope..."

Not as if it made any practical difference, yet the ever curious sculptress immediately wondered as to what kind of partner Alice would have favor, and if she may or may not have already met that person unknowing of their relationship. If they were getting married, then no doubt their relationship must have already been going on for some time.

This time though, Alisa could see her move... Her opponent's reaction had been ever so slower this time around; while the sculptress could take her time making wild guesses as to why that may be, she simply couldn't, not without yielding the next point. Thus, Alisa advanced towards the net, where Alice's angle would be necessarily narrower lest her return be shot off the field. She stepped in a single moment sooner which led to her slamming the ball earlier than she'd prefer. Her shot packed less power, yet found it's way to the side opposite Alice: She aimed it lower, meaning it would bounce around the center and potentially fly over the back line at an upwards trajectory.

"Oh, it appears you've done as many quests with Snowflake as I have~", teased the sculptress, a playful chuckle leaving her mouth. Indeed, her new Guildmaster had been a good friend and dilligent coworker long before she took up that mantle, "But I'm defenitely glad to hear it."

Perhaps it had to do with her amnesia, having no childhood friends and only remembering Lacie, who definitely didn't get an invitation. Apart from that she considered Alisa a friend, definitely after trying to fight off a demon in Era and well the ice skating had been very pleasant. "Thank you." She said as Alisa said that she would stop by, of course there will be official wedding invitations.. wouldn't there be? She wondered about it, there was so much too do and it was four months away.. it felt like too much stress for the knight but she would swallow that stress at the moment and worry about it at another time and place.

When Alisa asked who the lucky one was, she couldn't help but blush. In a good way, she was definitely not ashamed of the whole ordeal and she liked Kon a lot, "I don't know if you met him again but he was with the battle against that demon as well. His magic back fired.. that had made me freak out a bit but yeah his name is Konstantin." She looked up at Alisa wondering indeed if they had met before. She couldn't hide the smile from her face. She was getting quite excited by the whole ordeal.

~

As she already got a bit tired, she stared at the ball that she had tried to hit back but missed again.. Thank god she learnt how to be able to deal with losing. She was sure that Alisa her speed and also strength was a better match than her own including her own circumstances, but most important: she had fun. While thinking that she couldn't help but chuckle as she let Jupiter get the ball. "We always seem to do sports. Is it running around demons, ice skating or now tennis. It is a very interesting way of seeing each other again." Jupiter carefully brought the ball to Alisa as it was her turn to serve. He would make very sure not to drool on the ball as well as to move away as quickly as he handed it over to be save outside the tennis court.

She would stand at the corner where she would have to stand according to the rules of the tennis game and gave a short chuckle when Alisa did the same about the amount of quest, "Perhaps she invests all her time in her boyfriend." and being guilldmaster of course.

The sculptress almost had to bite back that schoolgirlish giggle at the sight of her friend's expression, yet blushing like a smitten maiden at the mention of her soon to be husband. At the mension of the fiancé's identity however, that giddy smile on her face faded for the briefest of moments, as Alice just named someone Alisa hardly saw as a dependable partner:

"Oh... Him... Well, I'm sorry to hear that.", she answered, somewhat surprised, not sure what to think about the man's magic other than it seemed like terrible luck. She wasn't really impressed after all - as expected of someone who saw a supposed comrade in arms exit early in the battle. That said, she'd withhold further judgement until she actually met him, "In any case, I'm sure you'll be very happy~"

She hadn't been impressed the first time, and after finding out he'd left his lover to face the demon without his aid, she felt even less so. Hopefully he'd have gotten a grip on his magic, and if such a thing didn't happen again, Alisa would steadily forget about that.

And as she scored again, Alisa's brow furrowed further with a similar look of uncertainty flashing on her face... As Alice yielded that second point, she couldn't help but feel the girl's reactions were slowing ever so slightly, not enough to completely tip the scales in the sculptress' favor, but more than enough for an attentive martial artist to pick up on it. The expectant mother had been her equal - or perhaps stronger - when they first fought together in Era, and Alisa attributed her present lack of stamina to the child she now carried:

"Defenitely, though i merely see it as a different way of keeping in shape without just fighting and running all the time.", she explained, flipping a long tress of black hair behind her, and smiling at the yellow (rather cute) quadrupedal creature who carried the ball back to her, "Thank you~", she'd say, bouncing the ball down on the ground and setting her eyes on the other side of the ring.

This time, Alisa took a bit longer on the serve, not really comfortable with putting her friend through stenuous exercise while carried a kid around. Yet that delay allowed her to turn her head aside for a moment, enough to catch sight of a small, cute looking candle - her partner Lumen, who Alice might also recognize:

"Oh, Lumen~", she'd smile at the Litwick who'd been sleeping last time Alisa saw her, yet her brow soon raised when she caught sight of a large bundle of weeds its hands, "Araa...? What do you have there~?"

The red head tried to get the blush away from her face and simply smiled still, "It goes a lot better now." she tried to recover the sort of damage she did by telling about his.. backfiring magic, which actually wasn't really the whole case but the answers to that problem still had not showed up yet and she didn't want to think too much about it because that would make her sad. "Thank you," she did say when Alisa mentioned that she would be very happy and she would believe so as well. She didn't even doubt it, she just didn't want to consider that they wouldn't find answer to the magic issue that Kon had at the moment.

~

As she had not believed the pregnancy would have any effect on her just yet, of course crossing the whole country made her tired, but who wouldn't get tired even if they were not carrying a baby. But her clothing didn't work well, the small baby bump and simply the whole heavy feeling that she had. But she tried not to give up in this tennis match, even though she lost a second point by not being fast enough. "It is nice. I would prefer this over running around as well. But the job of a knight sometimes have me running around to every other place." But that would change now as she had to believe Kon and Midas on that, as the baby would be born, she could work around Orchidia or they would be able to take the child with them and she liked that idea, as long as it was safe of course. She should not daydream too much about that right now, not yet anyway.

Alice would position herself but the tennis game seemed to be off for a second. Making her hunch down for a second to catch her breath, having Jupiter and Hecate jump in as well, she looked up at Alisa and her companion, Lumen, she had seen the candle like creature indeed in Era months ago. Alice stood up and out of curiousity walked towards Alisa, "I have never seen a plant like that before?" Or were it two different ones? Jupiter followed her closely, curiously looking at what Lumen was holding.

It really did seem Alisa had to meet this Konstantin person, if nothing else just so Alice could prove her wrong when she felt he wouldn't make a good husband. For the time being, she pushed those thoughts out of her mind and instead focused on her friend: She had plenty of reason to feel tired, and in that state too much exercise wouldn't really be good for her, or her kid. They could have a proper rematch in a few months:

"Not too different from a travelling mage in that case.", Alisa noted, nodding as the two women finally went around the net and moved closer to each other, with the sculptress twirling her racquet idly before resting it against a nearby bench, "It feels like every working day is a workout, but then, I can't really complain about that~"

They obviously had far more in common than one might think considering these different career choice, but in essence they could take pretty much the same kind of jobs: Alisa had more freedom to act as she pleased, but in return Alice had all the perks and resources of the council at her disposal... That said, discussing this further would have to wait as their eyes were soon peeled on their partners.

Lumen sniffed the leaves in hand, visibly enthralled by them, exactly like anyone might were they smelling the most exquisite of perfumes. The litwick sighed delightedly, lulled into overjoyed contentment at the slightest whiff.

"Neither have I...", observed Alisa, looking between Lumen and Alice, resting one hand on her hip as she pushed it to one side, bringing the other hand up to her chin and admonishing her partner, "Be careful now, Lumen, you shouldn't play with strange plants just because they smell good."

Owing to their immobility, plenty of plants developed venom, thorns, and whatever other mechanisms that whitstant the test of time, as a means of protection against animals. Such a thing seemed obvious to Alisa, yet she fully understood how tempting such a thing might prove: She just got overprotective towards cuteness like her partner's...

The Knight's yellow partner looked just as interested: Curious, Alisa watched the two creatures carefully, ready to stop them if they were about to eat a strange, unknown weed... No way that could be good for them... Thus, she crossed her arms, trying her damndest not to be distracted by the cuteness, especially when Lumen actually went a dropped a fair bundle of the weeds on hand. Expectedly so owing to their small hands...

Alisa mentioned that it was not that different from a travelling mage and perhaps it was not, perhaps it easier considering the rules that were placed on her, or well had been. She was done with those now as a Holy Knight, it sure brought a lot more ease around. She didn't plan to say anything about this out loud, she simply smiled and nodded, she didn't want to complain about the Rune Knights. She did to Kon and that was enough for now. She couldn't help but chuckle when Alisa mentioned that it felt like a daily workout, "Says the girl that comes here in the early morning to tennis after she just woke up." she couldn't help but laugh about, "It helps though to keep healthy."

The thing was though that the companion from Alisa had brought some strange weeds and Alice looked at them, she had noticed that Jupiter was just as curious about them but that Hecate stayed near her. Perhaps Jupiter was just interested in Lumen, though she couldn't imagine knowing her companion. She agreed with Alisa that strange herbs were not very nice to suddenly eat, even though most creatures would know if it was poison or not, she rather had Jupiter not eat anything. She had no time and energy to actually bring him to a vet in case needed, she obviously would because he meant a lot to her but she rather prevented it.

She had just looked at Hecate when Lumen had dropped something and she noticed too late that Jupiter was smelling it and quickly ate it, she took the few steps towards him, "Don't do that! Come on, spit it out." But something strange happened, she could feel a vibe of magical energy surround him and he only looked at her. "Oh no, what's going to happen?"

Alice's keen observation earned a rather amused giggle from the sporty woman, who indeed saw potential work outs and training sessions in a myriad of diverse situations, some as different as the heaven from the Earth. Though not exactly a fighting nut, her obsession with strength and appearance held true. Power, beauty, knowledge... All three treasures she valued, and all three could be found and gathered as such...

"Exactly~", Alisa nodded and raised a finger in a mock sagely poise, "I've quite the extensive experience on that matter."

An agreement that quickly extended to their opinions on their companions fooling around with the wierd herbs, and yet, neither Alisa nor Alice made any motion to take the two creatures' newfound treasure away when they seemed so completely taken by them. Still, if they just kept them from eating the plants, Alisa could always stick Lumen's in a pot and grow them for him. That was, assuming they managed to keep them from eating them. Once Lumen dropped some, Jupiter ate them, "Alice!"

Alisa called out to her friend just in case she'd missed it, and the two girls focused their attention wholly on the yellow creature for that moment.

At that moment, Alisa's eyes were also on Jupiter. She looked away for only a single moment... Yet one moment was all it took, but her credit, Alisa's gut had her turn her head back around to her smaller partner, whipping her long hair the other way with the sudden movement. A frightened gasp left her lips as she saw the Litwick doing exactly the same:

"Oh, not you too Lumen!", snapped Alisa, hurrying over, crouching and cradling the small candle creature in her arms. It looked thoroughly radiant, having munched down those herbs faster than the sculptress thought possible, closing her eyes lazily as if she'd just eaten the most sumptuous of meals, "Lumen!!"

Seeing her beloved partner close her eyes after eating what might very well be a poisonous herb predicably frightened Alisa, her eyes widened, her hold on the small candle tightening. But instead, Lumen's candlelight grew brighter. It didn't burn the sculptress at all, however, but soon enough she found her arms being pushed out wider... It looked like Litwick was getting larger? Closing its eyes and focusing, he kept on channeling mana and he did so, his size increased. Glowing, growing, shifting. Soon, Alisa could no longer hold him in her arms, and crouched down, putting him down.

Or rather, her... Up until this point, Lumen had never reacting to any questions concerning its gender, simply smiling cutely when people guessed. As if it enjoyed having people assume its gender. But this enveloping light turned her into a human shape, adolescent, but sufficiently feminine for people to guess such:

"Ara... Lumen... Did those weeds do that to you?", as the worry passed, only Alisa's curiosity remained, and the now humanoid Lumen simply nodded. She tilted her head, approaching Lumen, inspecting her newfound transformation, "My, to think you were a girl after all~"

Both Alisa and Litwick shared a lightheared giggle at this last part, and their eyes soon turned to Alice and Jupiter, the latter of whom had eaten a similar bunch of grass...
