Inside the tomb the group had decided to stop and take a short rest. It had been rather exciting, traveling all the way from the coast to Fairy Tail's own private island. Sael would get restless just thinking about the idea of being here on Tenrou, he wasn't anything but a country man that, somehow, managed to infiltrate one of the famous guilds in the country. It wasn't a fact that he liked to be reminded about. How much he didn't belong. But it keeps coming up! So far he hasn't been able to anything to help his fellow guild mates on this extremely important mission, handed to them personally from the guild master and he felt like nothing but- A sixth wheel!

Which is why he had requested Kazumi's presence on the side and away from the others. Once they got out of earshot he proceeded to explain the situation to the crystalline mage.

"So, I know that I'm kind of springing this on you but I really need you help." He started. His nerves freezing up as he spoke but still speaking regardless. "I wanted to ask you to spar with me. It's weird, I know, but I don't want to be the one that drags the team down if we get into a fight. You seemed really experienced and nice, not that the others aren't! It's just that..." He paused. "Houren kinda scares me, Tori kind goes overboard, and King. He's face is just to squishy you know? I wouldn't even dream of hurting him." At this point Sael was probably babbling and he took a few deep breathes to calm him down. "So, what do you say?"

With the guild taking a much needed break from exploring the cavern like tomb for a bit, Kazumi was definitely surprised when Sai pulled her away from the others in order to ask her for a private sparring match. He told the young crystal maker the reasons why he hesitated to ask any of the others, while also telling her that she seemed sufficiently experienced. While it was true that she had some combat experience, Kazumi was not aware that she had enough confidence to make that in any way apparent to others. “O-oh, yeah uh, yeah sure.” She had to take a moment to process the sudden request. The idea was solid, more practice couldn’t hurt in case things got intense later, though they would also have to be careful not to expend all of their energy. As such, maybe some of her bigger spells should stay out of the match. She pulled the right sleeve of her Jacket to make sure her arm was covered, emphasizing her thoughts.

Kazumi looked around at the surrounding area. It was fairly open, not too close but not too far from where the others were resting, with a deep chasm on the far end; no doubt a ravine connected to that underground river they had passed by earlier. “Actually, this is a good place to spar. We just have to be careful of that hole there.” She waved a hand to the chasm, JUST in case Sai had somehow missed it. She walked to one end of the room, with Kira following behind before splitting off to go sit on the sidelines, next to the chasm. The maker mage readied herself, assuming a fighting stance. “Alright then, ready when you are.”

He was over joyed at his request being accepted, maybe not with the expected enthusiasm, but then again it wasn't going to be too exciting a fight anyways, because even if Kazumi was faster and stronger, Sael had adaptability, or so he thought. Sael nearly tripped over himself when Kazumi spoke up again. He sent a small smile in apology. Perhaps he wasn't as good as he had hoped, even now.

Before they got started Kazumi reminded him of the terrain around them, regarding special attention to the chasm nearby before assuming a fighting stance. "Don't worry I got my own parachute in case that happens. Though I am a bit concerned about you!" He grinned. The cloud mage swiftly shrugged off his outer coat, gripping both sleeves in his right hand and clicking a quick snap with his left. In summons to his will a small round cloud manifested itself in front of him. The perspective was off enough to block most of the cloud mage's body. A quick breath, and he took of. Sael sprinted towards Kazumi, keeping the cloud in front of him and cutting off a lot of visibility on him.

Now if I remember I jump around- here! Seal rolled his foot mid-sprint and leaped into the air. The circular cloud spun and created a platform for him as he jumped again above his guildmate's head, "Watch out!" He warned. About a foot before he slammed his feet onto the crystal mage's head he directed the cloud to shield his strike against Kazumi. He once again snapped his fingers as he landed and another cloud manifested in about a meter in front of its master's opponent. With a mental nod he'd extend the fist to give Kazumi a good ole' smack to her cheek on the right, perhaps even back hand the other if it could. Wonder how she'll take that?

Kazumi stood her ground as Sael came running toward her. As he leaped, shouting out a helpful warning. She dashed forward about 6 meters away in the opposite direction of Sael’s momentum, intentionally stopping next to Kira next to the chasm. Then, as Sai fell victim to gravity, Kazumi held out an arm toward him, summoning a squadron of crystal butterflies that would race toward him with razor sharp wings and not only break that weird cloud shield platform thing of his, but also probably do some damage if nothing was done about them. At this point she would play the waiting game again, looking to see what the cloud maker’s next move would be. Of course, this was not done without some friendly advice. This was just a training spar after all, they both needed to learn from the experience for it to have been worth it all. “Maybe, don’t warn your opponent next time,” she said with a chuckle. “The element of surprise is fragile.” Not that he was being particularly stealthy with that attack, but he still would benefit from the tip, at least Kazumi thought so. In any case, the only thing left to do was wait for the cloud mage’s next move.

Sael was shocked to find no whelping or yell as his cloud swung around, but his attention was caught when a swarm of butterflies shot forwards toward him. He jumped up as high as he could, his cloud assisting his assent allowing his to barely evade the swarm. His constructs in the mean time didn't fair as well and were torn as easily as actual clouds. But the mage had bigger problems at hand, gravity was one of them, as he fell to the ground he snapped once more and another cloud came to support him, this time from his stomach.

A roughly formed hand shape cloud connected around his upper stomach, holding the mage a few inches from the ground. Sael huffed and with heaving effort from himself back to a standing point, his cloud friend shifting position to his right shoulder. "Alright I get it, next time I'll be more careful." He smiled. As obvious as it was that he was outmatched by that last clash he still found himself invigorated by the challenge, this was rather exciting wasn't it!?

With his cloud arm relaxing on his shoulder he dashed forward to meet the crystal mage head on. Ending up about a meter in front of her. He twisted his body in a clockwise twirl, letting his left arm drag in a horizontal sweep. The gesture producing a wide crescent shaped cloud, while at the same time his cloudy arm would stretch out and try and knock a decent blow on Kazumi if still in range.

This artificial arm is mentally controlled, and can slide along the the surface of his body. As well as change its form to extend it's length or increase it's width. Mostly for aesthetics, such as to make the arm more defined or more slim to better suit the situation, though it's main purpose is offense. These shape changes are not too strict as long as everything fits within a 1 x 1 meter area. This extra fist-ed arm deals C-rank bludgeoning damage.

The crystal wizard held her right arm to her left side as if getting ready to unsheath a sword that did not exist. She readied herself because there was a Sael coming for her and she was not quite able to predict exactly what he planned to do. After all, Kazumi has not seen him in combat before now, and the only thing she really knew about his combat style was that he could make clouds; an observation anyone could easily make. So with the cloud mage closing in, Kazumi had to really look for any kind of tell. The obvious thing to watch out for was the giant cloud fist he had going, because any movement that thing made would probably be bad news.

Sai stopped about a meter away from Kazumi, lifting his... wait, left arm? Was Sael left handed? That’s not something Kazu was particularly prepared for. And the artificial arm had started to move too? Oh, boy. Kazumi moved that arm she had ready in a quick and sloppy upward diagonal slash to block Sai’s left arm, a crystal swird forming in the movement, completed by impact. Meanwhile, she also tried to bend backwards to dodge the incoming cloud fist, but all of those random movements without second thought happening at the same time caused the young mage to lose her balance. She fell backwards onto the ground, landing directly on Kira’s front paw. In shock, Kira yelped and jumped up a little to close to the edge of the chasm, losing her footing and falling right in. The next sound that was made was the blood curdling scream that escaped Kazumi’s mouth as she watched her friend slip into the darkness. “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!” without even a moment’s hesitation, Kazumi scrambled to her feet and dove in after her, her arms spread wide. In that moment, even without Kazumi’s specific activation, a large crystal butterfly formed, holding onto kazumi from behind, allowing the girl to fly after Kira.
