The park – a place where the young maiden preferred to loiter around reading a book, or perhaps, gazing up at the sky and watched the clouds drift by. The weather was quite cooling for a day in the summer season, but it wasn’t necessarily bad. In fact, it was just the type of weather she preferred, though her favourite season was winter. She enjoyed the warm cups of coffee in bed with a novel in her hand and sometimes, she would stare out of the window and her thoughts would wander off to some place where no one could reach. She would spend most of her days cuddled up in bed and although it may be freezing cold, that kind of weather could easily put her to sleep. Perhaps, when winter comes, she might be able to roast some marshmallows with someone.

Cerulean eyes glided over to the empyreans and above her was a stretch of sky and though the pale blue colour was inviting in its own right, leering into it echoed nothing but forlorn thoughts, lost in the transition of cloud to puff to nothingness over the short span of a few moments. The youth watched the clouds raced over the cobalt sky above and she loved how fast they go, over the blazing yellow orb and other puffs of white cushions. Fleeting was the process of dispersing clouds, which Snowflake would easily compare to the fickleness of her identity and the deterioration of her memories, bit by bit, as he continued to wonder.

In her hand, the paper request would fold and crinkle, the words now a jumble of objectives that she had stapled into her prior. Her regular routine of checking the request boards permitted her to collect the request that she has in her hands which was to train some children to become future soldiers and so on. Assuming that she would get some practice out of training some young soldiers, Snowflake decided to take upon the quest, which was why she was at the park, preparing to begin her lessons for the children. The park was quite large and she wasn’t sure where the children were located and hence, she had to go out of her way and search the kids as if she was their mother.

The park was nothing like the Crocus streets, peaceful and quiet where miniature formal gardens were made for the elderly that had retired there for the quiet life. It had benches, ornamental trees, wild flowers adorned all around the park. The entire place was filled with the fragrance of flowers and even though she was not a big fan of flowers, the scent soothed her chest. The harsh gales blew across the undulating land of Crocus, gently caressing her cheeks and lifted up the dry leaves that were scattered on the grass in a swirl. Shortly after she wandered the park, she would come across a group of young children clashing their wooden swords against each other, still new to the touch of the sword.

As she had expected, the children were quite young for their age but she assumed that knights are required to begin from a young age to become skilled knights and lieutenants once they get older. Her eyes gliding over the students, she made a rough count of the numbers of children that she was supposed to train for the day before picking up the wooden sword that was lying on the ground. These young soldiers do not seem to enjoy her presence, most likely due to the fact that she was a female and she was going to teach them a lesson to not discriminate based on genders.

”Alright, young knights. Shall we begin?” She thrusted the sword down onto the ground, wedging it into the soil and placed her hand on top of the hilt of the weapon. ”Let’s begin with 10 laps around the park.” She began, with no expression of humour or emotions on her face. The children let out a groan, displaying their apparent distaste of such training but did not make a complaint any further but tossed the weapons on the ground. She couldn’t blame them for not liking the trainings since she, herself did not enjoy them either but only do so due to her responsibility of being a mage. Snowflake commanded them to queue up on a line and to follow her all the way around her park.

There were a few children who were unable to catch up with the training and thus, they would have to stop mid-way to take a break but since she did not want to spoil them too much she would only let them have a break they’ve run a couple of laps. Once they were done, all of them would be covered in sweat, including her and the young soldiers would be found reclining on the ground, gasping for air. However, this training was far from being over as a smirk grew on her lips. She had always been strict with training, even with herself and now that she had a few underlings, she was going to make them go through hell, for the sake of their improvement.

”Take a bit of rest and we’ll start sparring.”

The students climbed up onto their feet to fetch some water while some continued to rest. Once the break was over, they stood in their positions in pairs facing against each other, like Snowflake had told them to do so. They clashed their weapons at each other and the winner would be whoever is able to push their target off their feet, but without hurting them. Snowflake walked around them, observing their movements and if she noticed them wielding their weapon wrong or making incorrect movements, she would assist them with alternate ways to perform the actions. By the time they were finished with their training, dawn had already struck with the sun setting down the horizon, spreading its neon colours over the vast sky. She concluded the training session, congratulating each of them upon the completion of the training as she proceeded her way towards Armin Bartholomew, one who is responsible of giving her the reward.
