Potion Parcel [Quest | Shin] Empty Mon Sep 04, 2017 11:49 pm

Shin Katari
After taking a nice hot shower, Shin found himself with a parcel in hand heading towards the great Castle Phantasm. He had taken the request from the request board in town, which was put up there by Dr. Mabuz, someone who had become a regular client for Shin. This time, instead of testing something or locating some kind of herb, he had requested for Shin to deliver a parcel to the noble Phantasm family. Inside the parcel was a potion of some kind. Shin assumed it contained the fern and mushroom he had found for the doctor along with some other ingredients. Interestingly, since his time in Oak, Shin had not once visited the Phantasm castle. It was a famous tourist attraction here in Oak and although people were allowed to enter the castle free of charge, any trouble led to arrests or even worse. Delivering the parcel and visiting the castle for the first time was like killing two birds with one stone.

Walking down the cobblestone path, Shin looked up at the towering castle. It was made of a rich stone that shone bright as the sun's rays bounced off of it. As expected, tourists walked the same path as Shin, cameras in hand taking pictures of the fancy structure. Hanging onto the parcel, Shin continued to make his way to the castle while drifting through the crowd around him. After about fifteen minutes of walking through the crowd, Shin appeared to find himself at the base of the castle. Large walls surrounded the castle, offering some kind of protection and adding to the appearance of the building. Surrounding the walls were guards, each with magical rifles in hand and possibly other magics that nobody was aware of. This was to be expected however. For a noble family such as the Phantasms, it was expected that they would have guards that could use magic. What good would ordinary people be against anyone who invaded?

With a sigh, Shin proceeded to move forward and entered the castle grounds through the large gate in the wall. Inside the wall were even more tourists, all taking pictures of looking at the history of the castle. Approaching the entrance to the inside of the castle, two guards stopped Shin with their magic lances. "State your business," spoke one of the guards with a deep monotone voice. "Delivery for the Phantasm family," Shin responded as he revealed the parcel. As the two guards exchanged looks, it appeared they were satisfied with the response and did not expect anything out of the ordinary, allowing Shin to pass. With a nod of his head, Shin entered the castle. The sounds heard from the outside were no longer heard within the castle, as instead the echoes of footsteps bounced off the walls. It was as quiet as could be within these castle grounds. Looking around, the castle was obviously of high standard as fancy artwork of the different Phantasms were hung on the walls, their eyes piercing the dark lighting of the castle entrance. It was an eerie feeling.

After talking to a few of the workers inside the castle, they had told Shin to take the potion parcel to the office of Servas Phantasm. To be honest, Shin had no idea who this Servas person was. He expected the person to be either the main head of the family or just a servant who was loyal to the family, as indicated by his name. Whatever his standing was within the family, Shin had to be careful. He did not want to make enemies with the family that essentially owned Oak Town. It would not look good for him as a mage or for Phantom Lord. However, it would definitely be a way for him to get his name out there, creating a reputation for himself. But alas, that could not be done.

"What are you doing here," asked a voice from the shadows. Immediately stopping, Shin faced the direction of the voice. Stepping from the shadows was a man in black armor, the bottom of his eyes appearing as if they had bags from lack of sleep. His facial expression was a frown for whatever reason. Shin recognized the man. His picture was at the entrance of the castle and Shin recalled reading his name as Sirius Phantasm. "I won't ask again, what are you doing here?" Sirius asked as he raised his voice, continuing to move forward as to inspect Shin. Calmly, Shin showed the parcel. "I bring a package for the Phantasm family," Shin replied. That was the most vague answer he could have possibly given. It provided little to no context as to what was in the parcel or who it was from. "From who?" Sirius continued to question as he now stood a few feet ahead of Shin. Looking him directly in the eyes, his amber glare meeting with that of the darkness of Sirius' Shin replied, "Dr. Stephan Mabuz. Contents of the parcel are a potion that he stated was for the Phantasm family." With a slight shift in his body stature, Sirius reached forward and grasped the package, snatching it from Shin. It appeared he was satisfied with the answer given. Looking at Shin, he tossed him an envelope with his reward for delivering the package. "I'll take it from here." Grabbing the money, Shin nodded and turned around, exiting the castle. His choice to look into the eyes of Sirius instead of the ground or elsewhere was a sign that the Sirius was just another person. To Shin, the Phantasm family was only protected by their name alone. Him exchanging piercing looks with Sirius was a sign of that. It was an interesting exchange for his first time in the Phantasm Castle. He would surely need to visit again soon. Shoving the money into his pocket, he exited the castle and made his way back to Dr. Mabuz's shop. It was still early in the day and instead of wasting time looking at the request board, Dr. Mabuz surely had a request or two that he required to be done.
