Kazumi Kiseki

•Kazumi Kiseki•

Not even a full day had passed since Kazumi was last at the Mag Drug Magic shop, and already she had been called back. Of course, she loved being there and whatnot, but she was actually planning on resting today since she had been watching the store all day yesterday. What made this call even stranger was that the store was not even supposed to be open today. This was normally Khalash's day off if Kazumi could recall correctly. So why was she being called in? Surely this meant something important, right? Well, there was only one way to find out.

Kazumi once again made her journey to the shop, This time wearing her jacket and holding an umbrella to protect herself from the falling rain coming down from above. Her boots sloshed upon the wet ground as she walked, taking all of the shortcuts she had discovered upon going to this particular destination over and over and over again. This time she was also carrying a book with her, just something to keep her mind off of things in case she was left alone once again just like last time. She was basically soaked by the time she got there, the umbrella not doing much of anything, so when the door opened to let her in she wa s just glad to be indoors, where it was nice and dry and warm.

"Ah! Don't track water into the shop! Make sure your feet dry on the mat." A worried Khalash exclaimed, Grabbing a mop and drying up any excess water. "Oops, sorry about that." Kazumi stepped back to the mat to dry before stepping into the shop proper again. "So what's up? I was just here yesterday, what happened?" She removed her Jacket and hung it over her umbrella that she left leaning against the door frame. "You're closed today, right?"
"Yeah, I am, but I still need some help, Sorry about this." He went into the back and came out again holding some sort of item. Kazumi could not identify what it was exactly, but she also didn't want to question whatever magical doo dads Khalash kept in his store. "This was an uncommon item I bought yesterday. However, it's broken. I have to get a refund on it but I have an important meeting with the Old Hermit today." Kazumi already knew where this was going, and while her heart fell a bit after her experiences yesterday, she couldn't say she was surprised. "So you want me to wait for the seller?"
"Exactly. Sorry to ask this of you, but I really need that money back. If I reschedule it, it might never happen. I run a business, you know. You would get paid, of course." Kazumi did her best not to show discontent at being left alone again, but a job was a job. She would be pretty stupid to turn such easy jewels down. "No worries. I understand. I'll help you, no problem. What do you need me to do?"

Khalash continued on to explain what exactly Kazumi's job would be. The store was not open today normally, and it did not seem like she would have the pleasure of hanging out with customers at least, though Kazu could not yet tell if that was a good thing or a bad thing yet. "What I want you to do is simple. Just wait here while I'm gone just like last time. The store shouldn't open today, so you won't have pesky customers to deal with." He said that last line as a joke and Kazumi chuckled, but it was to be polite. In reality, she would much rather have the customers than the lack of company any day. "Eventually, though I am not sure when, the original owner of the item will come in, and I need you to get my money back for the piece of junk, okay?" Kazumi only responded with a simple nod of her head. "Now. This is the important part: Please stay civil. I have no doubt that you would be able to keep your lid on, but I wouldn't be surprised if that guy didn't, so be careful and play nice for as long as you are able. Got that?"
"Sounds good to me."
"Great. I'll be on my way then. Call me on that Lacrima on the desk there after he comes by." And with that, he was gone.

Now Kazumi was left facing one of her greatest fears, loneliness. From the moment Khalash walked out that door, she could already feel her own nervousness. Of course, this is what she had already prepared for. This time, it didn't take her by surprise, though it should not have last time either. She took out her book, a wonderful tale about a young woman cursed by invisibility, and began to read. Soon enough, the door chimes rang and Kazu looked up to see a big burly bald man at the entrance. "Are you the person that sold Khalash this item?" Kazumi gestured toward the item. "That's right. Where's Khalash?"
"He couldn't make it, so he sent me instead." The man nodded as if understanding something, but Kazu wasn't sure it was her words. "Right, so I'll be on my way then."
"Hey man, If you came all the way over here, then you are clearly willing and able to give my employer a full refund for the broken toy you sold to him, are you not?" Groaning, the man put down a decently sized bag of jewels, snatching the item back. He most likely knew that the crystal mage was right, and couldn't find a reason to refuse or be mad. "You happy?" Kazumi smiled sweetly. "Quite."

As the man left, Kazumi called Khalash as he had asked her to by placing her hand on the lacrima. "Did you get the money?"
"Sure did. Piece of cake."
"Excellent. Go ahead and take 25,000 Jewels from the refund there and lock the door on your way out. Thanks so much for your help." Kazumi accepted the gratitude and hung up, taking her reward and closing up shop. Perhaps tomorrow she could actually rest.
