Leyaria Venerak

Leyaria

White Dragon Slayer

The last time she had been here within Crocus, it had been under terrible circumstances, ones in which she as much wished she could have forgotten, though in reality there was no way to hide the fact that what had happened in her past had as much defined her as anything else. A lot of pain and suffering had occurred within Crocus, particularly within Leyaria’s life, but now she was in a different position, while still struggling and learning her place within the world, she respected and understood just what it was that was taking place, that was ensuring that she remained in as good of a shape as possible. Having taken requests now and becoming more familiar with what mages did, the system to which they would often take requests and thereby come to inherit considerable fortunes as a result of them, there wasn’t any significant shock or surprise to the fact that she was doing them again here.

Perhaps it was that she was here under these circumstances, searching through the streets of Crocus as she sought out some apparent inividuals who were suspected of having been involved with a variety of scams and cons throughout the city of Crocus, she couldn’t help but have flashbacks back towards her time in Era, the first request in which she had taken on her own. She was barely familiar with anything as to what happened typically, what to expect, how much she stood to be paid, or any of the things of that nature. Now actively looking and taking jobs and contracts which only months earlier she may never would have been willing to do, instead she was now far more willing and less concerned as to what was taking place. And in this case, there was another such instance of it. She had been wandering through the streets for some bit of time now, Geth at her side, the two of them looking and appearing like they belonged, like there wasn’t any sort of concern as to whether or not they may have found themselves in an awkward or otherwise compromising position. Unfortunately though, at least from what she was able to deduce amongst everything that was taking place within the city of Crocus, there was no reason to believe that there would be any greater degree of success, let alone any chance that she may have run into this group of cons by accident. If they had been operating for as long as they had been, it’d be hard to believe that they would be so foolish as to simply allow themselves be discovered.

After a short bit of time, in addition to what further time she had spent going through and trying to find whomever it was that had been conning people, it seemed finally that Leyaria was going to find some degree of luck. It took a long while, but there was a man, a man who at first she did not suspect anything of, nor think much of anyone outside of perhaps the chance that they were in the same area. Had it been anyone else, then maybe that would be a logical explanation, but the reality was that as a Dragon Slayer, she could smell him, know that for as much as she travelled, the scent travelled along with him, therefore always leaving a clear mark to her that he was in the area. When finally confronted about this fact, the man did not attempt to hide his guilt, having quickly identified himself as the individual who she was looking. She wasn’t sure as to what to expect, if this man was going to pick up a fight or not, as some might have suspected that people would, but to her surprise the man simply surrendered and gave her the money that she was to collect.

Confused, yet satisfied, Leyaria went back to the individual who had originally hired her, but to her shock and disbelief, it turned out that there had been nothing of value that she was actually gien. The man had instead given her a great number of fake jewels, high quality counterfeits in which would have been impossible to detect outside of perhaps those who were skilled in detecting it, like how her client was. Feeling embarrassed, Leyaria sought out the man again, intent on stopping him, ot make him pay for his betrayal and attempting of deceiving Leyaria. It was a mockery, an insult really that he would be so callous and deceptive towards her. And it wans’t long until she had found the man or at least his scent, a bit into the distance away from her though still more than enough for her to keep track of him. He ran fast, though not as fast as Leyaria did, and as time went, the two of them and the distance between the two closed  more and more. It wasn’t long until they were just outside of the gates into Crocus that she caught the man, having apparently attempted to give up on running, but instead hoping to stop her by force, believing her to be nothing more than a young woman who had been hired by someone who watned to get a lead up on the man. However, she doubted that he realized just who she was, and as soon as the man made a move towards her, she unloaded a loud roar of White Dragon Slayer Magic, making sure as to avoid striking the man directly – as she had seen now the destructive power that it possessed – but at the same time making sure that at worst, it would graze him, doing enough damage for her to take him out in a non-lethal manner and return him to perhaps either the guards or to her client. She intended on going towards the former, but not before going through his pockets and taking what appeared to be a great number of jewels, which she assumed to be the jewels that she was actually tasked with getting. Now with them in her possession, she went out to find a guard and inform them of what happened, knowing that it would only be a short time until he was arrested, put away, and more importantly no longer her problem.
