Kon

Eyes ran down his face, sadness etched into both heart and soul. The cries of others tore at him, there he was Kon having just slain someone a free days prior even indirectly had left a ripple in his psyche he never thought that his abilities as a necromancer would become such a challenge just simply listening to the voices of two beasts and a mentally ill woman inside trapped inside his head. Of course, he had the option to block them out but he found that it was grounding him so he would understand that with each soul he took, he was taking a life. His goal was to ensure that he didn't turn into his older brother who lusted for power above all. Whilst Kon desired to become powerful he had been left with a bitter taste in his mouth which had been becoming more prominently as he gained each soul fouling everything he ate.

Eventually, though he knew he would have to block out the souls lest they overpower him, however at the moment he could cope with the three. Leaving the ground that he had taken rest on after losing balance and slipped off the bed, he rolled one of his shoulders and grumbled to himself. Wiping away the tears that remained from his sleeve, he picked up a nearby mirror and looked at himself and seeing a monster in the reflection before casting it aside onto the ground shattering it into a dozen pieces. Swiftly he moved to pick each piece he could and placed them into a bowl that was conveniently in the room. Satisfied with the job of cleaning up, Kon removed his sleepwear and move to have a shower.

His shower was brief, remaining in the bathroom for just as long, enough however to both shave and brush his teeth, leaving the bathroom however he was met with pain as he had missed a piece of mirrored glass that dug a 5 centimeter wide, two centimeters deep cut into his right foot, hopping onto his bed he swore heavily. Pulling at the glass, a gruesome slick noise followed by a clunk could be heard as it left his foot and was dropped in the bowl, drips of blood were littered on the floor, bed and more importantly his towel. Wrapping his foot up haphazardly so he could return to the first aid kit in the bathroom. Hobbling back there he found a sparsely filled box of medical supplies.

With his limited medical knowledge, he was capable of stitching together his cut albeit with great difficulty and before bandaging it up properly. Knowing that there might be more glass left over he reminded himself to wear shoes in the future as well as inform his host of the incident to avoid any issues between him and them. After donning his clothes paying extra attention to his right shoe, he grabbed his staff knowing he would need it today for its real purpose and left his room.

After informing the concerned host he left the building having learnt of the time and the implications of his delayed appearance. To retain a portion of his sanity he knew he would have to continue his routine, fortunately he would be able to work with another rune knight member today, LeeAnn, his cousin and one of his most trusted friends, but there were always secrets that he kept for himself with the risk of others knowing more likely to cause problems and alleviate solutions. Despite the difficulty of walking with an injured foot, he managed to reach the predefined location they spoke of with the assistance of both his staff and his blitzle.

Lee Nakamura
Gatherings of stars joined along making a sort of pathway for her to walk along. It was a night sky or space with a blue background surrounding her. She could see constellations forming Leo and Aries. It was a weird sort of place. She looked around to see no one but stars. She decided to walk a little more. Ahead was a black void that made her curious. It was not a tunnel of light but some dark void. As she approached this void, the blue slowly turned into a nothingness of black. Slowly the path way faded as making  her fall down into a bottomless pit. Memories and items passing her by on the way down. She finally hit the bottom. She was in a room full of mirrors surrounding her as she just saw reflections of herself. In front of her, lied a tall figure that she could not make out.  It called out to hear in a mysterious manor The young Nakamura just stood there staring at it until finally she called out it.. "Hello? Who are you and why are you here" she asked. It reached towards her telling her faded whispers. "River...go to the river" it whispered. The figure disappeared that caused another hole to form under LeeAnn making her fall yet again.

LeeAnn broke out into a cold sweat causing her to pant a bit. It was a weird dream. The redhead had a feeling that it was the spirit she promised from the job earlier. Her eyepatched lied on the end table next to her with her medication and a glass of water. Hans must of placed her medicine there. She was not normally one to take her prescriptions on a daily basis. The red head sighed taking her B6 vitamins that lowered her anxiety. She hated taking pills. This was not her medication since she did refuse to take anything doctors given her so vitamins were the best thing to do. She popped the pill into her mouth and drank the glass of water. Water was the only other thing that her body allowed her to have other than alcohol. She got out of bed still in a cold sweat. LeeAnn put her armor on covering all of her scars as she put on her eyepatch covering her blind eye. She bared her teeth in anger thinking about those who tortured her. The thoughts came back as she has her ears folded back with her tail lashing. LeeAnn grabbed some breakfest of deer meat and alcohol that was apart of this nutrious breakfest. The redhead ate it rather quick and made her way to the river with in no time beating her cousin this of course. LeeAnn knew Kon would be there and could careless whether he was there or not, but this figure was pushing her there. "Fucking spirits... how do they always seem to find me" she thought. Though, has was a celestial being rather than a spirit in her book. She dashed past as her breah became quickened.

Her ears folded back in fear thinking of getting there. For some reason, this was freaking her out. It was one thing getting married to a kitsune but one thing to have ghost contact you. How did her cousin do this? She was worried for him, but she had other things to worry about. "Why am I so freaked out" she wondered to herself. LeeAnn would run past Kon as she did see the blitzle or blonde headed cousin. Her red hair flew behind her as so did people and bystanders wondering why she was in such a hurry. LeeAnn arrived to the location where her client was there. Panting and catching her breath, she had one hand against the tree and the other on her hip as her head was down panting.

Kon

Left and right Konstantin continued to search the streets of Orchidia that were becoming ever busier with the community starting their daily routine. “What the heck was that girl?” Annoyed with her absence aggravated by his injured state. Finally he spotted her with the obvious red hair that was flowing through the air, she seemed to be running to him at least that was his impression at first, however instead she simply chose to run past him and his companion causing him to sigh recognising that today was probably going to be a repeat of their encounter at the cafe.

And so without LeeAnn and just simply his companion, Kon hobbled over to their next destination or at least the destination that she was taking, which he could follow easily enough with several people having been bowled over by her. Normally he would have stopped to apologise to at least the eldest of the community but her urgency was alarming as such he went after her as fast as he could with his injured boot. Each time he stepping on it, he could feel a trickle of blood leak from his wound and eventually began to soak the lower portion of his sock. Now thoroughly annoyed he would berate her if it were for something trivial as to require her rushing off without saying a word.

Eventually, he came to a stop after spotting both Lee and Inspector Nilan. LeeAnn appeared to have been doubled over after running meanwhile Nilan appeared to be reading some reports of some sort. Considering the inspector was in the middle of asking some questions directed at his cousin, he allowed his foot some rest and sat down without caring about his position. Flaring up in pain he gingerly removed his shoe and sock that was clinging to his foot. Whistling to his companion who came to him without a moment's notice Kon reached for his water bottle and threw some of the water on it removing all the blood and debris away.

Sighing he spoke out to Lee, “I hope it was a matter of life and death, running after you without a word isn’t much fun with a cut foot you know.” Before grabbing a set of bandages in a saddlebag of his Blitzle and wrapping it around his foot tightly. Nilan stopped talking to LeeAnn directly instead begun speaking to the two of them as a group. “An angered spirit is a very serious matter, as a member of Rune Knights, I was always prepared to do anything for them however it is vital to remain in contact with your fellow comrades to ensure that you are helping each other.” Grumbling slightly Kon reluctantly agreed with him as he slid his sockless foot back on his shoe. “If you’re not too injured, Kon is it? I’d like you two to come with me back to the river that Dacol mentioned in his reports.”

Rising to his feet grimacing in a small amount of pain grabbing onto his staff tightly for support, he retorted. “Lead on Inspector” With his confirmation to proceed Nilan placed his notes back into a backpack that was on the ground placed it on his back and moved back to a destination that Kon had become far too familiar with.

LeeAnn finally caught her breath as her chest heaved up and down slowly. The inspector was asking her questions about her dream. Usually, she would not open up about these things although it had to do wtih the mission and the spirit who was trying to contact her. She knew of the paranormal from Hans and endless studies on it from her mother's lectures. She was interested into those types of things. It always freaked out LeeAnn in the long run. She saw her cousin hobble over with his companion. It made her raise an eyebrow to see why is he was now a cripple. The staff was not helping his image much. He seemed to be hurt. LeeAnn silent watched and didn't say a word. The spirit thing made her shut up as they were asked to prolong to follow the inspector after he had given them a few tips. She agreed with the man although she was not in the mood to take things slow today. LeeAnn grabbed her cousin by the waist and put him over her shoulder. She never said a word again. The redhead was making sure she was gentle so she would not hurt his foot. There was a much better approach to this whole situation, but she really did not care at all.

"We're going by the river, my studies say thats were the sightings have been" he said. She did not reply. Her eyes remained serious and left for someone to explain the passion and hatred in her eyes. Why she despised such evil? Because she could feel this spirit's pain. Making that promise to him meant more than the world combined. When they would arrived, she would gently place Kon on his good food while holding him up on the bad foot. She looked down at her feet seeing a blueish glow along her armor. Slowly, her gaze would meet with a small figure like entity in front of them making her freeze. Though, she would just stare at this thing silently. Her eye shifted to the inspector then her cousin. It pointed to the spirit, the Tainted Spirit. The very one who was hurting him. She gritted her fangs as her ears went back. "You're the one who's not letting this spirit rest in peace, huh? What did he ever do to you? I keep my promises" she hissed. LeeAnn's tail swished back and forth angrily.

Kon

"What the heck is LeeAnn thinking?" Kon thought to himself as he was picked up and suddenly being carried by his cousin. "Sure I'm injured but it doesn't mean I'm a cripple." He shouted violently at LeeAnn who seemed to be heavily invested in reaching their goal, why the sense of urgency he didn't know it perplexed him, to say the least. Eventually, though the trio arrived at the river, whereupon Lee finally lets him down, staring at her distastefully before moving onto where the inspector had told them to go. LeeAnn was the first to encounter not only the first spirit mentioned by the inspector but also the evil spirit that they had been told about.

Apparently, there was some sort of former relationship between the two but the spirit didn't seem interested in any form of reporting instead choosing to try and attack, Swiftly as the being tried to charge at LeeAnn, Kon brought his staff down twice with two of his summons, his rat and his wolf raising from the ground by her side with the rat being a meter to her left and the wolf a meter to her right respectively. Meanwhile his blitzle companion, Sparky launched a barrage of spells first throwing a ball of lightning striking and seemingly slowing down the spirit followed by a spark from its head as it drew closer, just as it was drawing close enough to strike his cousin, his companion charged head first into the spirit which appeared to have banished the impurities whether or not Kon would be able to use this to his advantage he didn't know but he hoped he would have the chance to.

The spirit, in fact, turned out to be just as human as the previous one wearing a brown trench coat, blonde hair and blue eyes, if Kon had to guess he would have said that they were related in someway evident when the river spirit sat with the other spirit that had collapsed. "Odd I didn't know spirits could collapse oh well." He thought to himself. Strangely despite the state of his friend, the spirit wanted to thank the two of them for their work by giving all of them a gift of sorts offering each of them memories that they had forgotten over time, bitterly Kon joked to the spirit. "To be honest river spirit I have many memories I'd like erased rather than remembered thank you for your offer, though." With him refusing the gift the spirit was slightly taken back but not overly concerned instead provided at least the inspector with some memories of his own.

His memories, in particular, revolved around her wife, something that brought a slightly smile to kon's face. He was glad that at least someone would gain something from this venture. The inspector now in a chipper mood began to question Kon with regained enthusiasm particularly in his magic, which he gave little information on it as he found it bothersome to have people questioning him about it. Having forgotten that he had even summoned them he looked around and cast them with his staff turning them into dust watching it disappear with the wind. Seemingly satisfied with the vague answers that Kon had given him in the first place, he paid him out right with his jewels in a plain brown satchel. Thanking him for the money, Kon spoke to LeeAnn briefly informing her on his departure. "Goodbye, Lee I hope next time we see each other you won't be so busy as so you'd actually talk to me." And so with those final words, he hobbled his way out of the forest and back to Orchidia where he would hopefully find a doctor who would be willing to heal his injured foot that had worsened since the start of the day.

Lee Nakamura
LeeAnn was not too fond of doing side chit chat and only on the job at hand. She only gave a small sigh when he gave her a look of disapproval. Yes, he was older than her by a year and taller than her, but she was motherly towards her teammates. The redhead only gave a glance at him. She only remained quiet until the spirit or infected demonic spirit or something along those lines pissed her off. LeeAnn had a vague knowledge of ghosts, but she never knew battled any in her past experience other that her fiance's illusions when she was on recovery from her trauma. That still was a long process. She shook her head figuring out all of this. It looked like the inspector was having a little fun with htis spirit.

The spirit she was not staring at looked to be weak in his human form. This made her think of her mother for some reason. Guess it was from the flashback dreams she would have that she think it would be her mother's memories. It as strange, but the only explanation she could come up with that would make sense. How and why it was occurring to her would remain a mystery.had fainted as his feeble body lied on the floor. Her ears went back feeling sorry for the poor thing She knew that feeling of feeling weak too oftne.  The kid looked pale and flesh was almost white. He looked sickly in her eyes form what she hasd seen in the hospitals. Her eye shifted to the Tainted Spirit. The thing that was something she wanted out of her sights. Her ears flattened and a low growl came from the Neko. After a small moment, the spirit launched himself towards LeeAnn. Quickly, LeeAnn leaped out of the way. She simply stared at his spirit. The cat claws were about to come out now. The benefits of being a Neko. She held something over most of her team with some natural abilities. Wolverine-like claws came out from her hands. They were sharp, but she knew physical toch was not going to do with ghost. Slowly, she gathered the mana together as she ran C-rank speed to get to this spirit. She could not be heard by anyone though seen. She made herself visible to only Kon and snuck on the Tainted Spirit with the element of surprise. She would leap while saying "Hot Knives" heating up her claws. While that, she quickly formed a fre fox tial and slashed the tainted spirit with it along wth Kons help with his companion and undead summons. The redhead stood over the tainted spirit as it vanished. She would only stand there blinking wondering what had happened earlier. The redhead looked over at Kon who seemed to be quiet for hte most part. The spirit that had fainted look. The spirit seemed to be happy according to her readings. Nilian would gradulaly walk over to him nad allow him to see his wife for the first time.  She vividly, though. LeeAnn did not understand what had happened right then and there She would only blink and tilt her head side ways like a lost puppy. "Would you like to remember what you have lost so long ago" asked the little spirit holding his hand out to her. She stared at the hand then at hte spirit. Slowly, she took the spirits hand. Her memories started to come back. The young neko girl stood there seeing a vivid old memory. It was the few happy ones she had in ehr life. It was one of her father, Hikaru, and her without Hans there. This was the day after Hikaru annouce he was going to become a Rune knight and went to their father. Young LeeAnn stood there with her arms open telling them that she decided she was going to become a Rune Knight as well. Hikaru and her father would stand up with two smiles and hug her. "So proud of my two children following in their old man's footsteps" said their father on the verge of tears. LeeAnn felt a warmness inside of her as her ears would go sideways very emotional inside about hte whole memory. It slowly faded as her trance went out Nilian seemed overjoyed to see his wife once more. Something must of happened between the two of them. He was esastic. Konstantin on the other hand seemed the same. Quiet. Perhaps she might of said something to set the guy off? This was one situation that she could not figure out! She silently smiled at Nilian glad he was happy. She was trying to look on the brighter side of things. "Thank you! Thank you thank you thank you! Here is your reward, Ms. Nakamura and Mr. Sokolov. I thank you" he smiled. She nodded her head and took the reward kindly. "Its my pleasure. Glad you are satisfied" she smiled and walked away silently looking back at her cousin parting ways.
