Saewoo stood on the arena, as the crowd roared below. They were waiting for the match to begin. Saewoo waved his hand, addressing the crowd. "Ladies and gentleman, welcome back! I introduce to you, the second round of the Martial Arts Tournament! Our contestants this match are.. Finn and Hikaru!"

Saewoo then hopped off the arena, allowing the contestants to come up.

  • Standard site-wide combat rules apply.
  • Post participants have 48 hours to initially post in this thread, then 24 hours every post after that. Should a participant take any longer than this, they should be disqualified. In the event neither post within that time, both are disqualified.
  • The first post should be both participants entering the arena, and starting the match on the second post.
  • The arena is of solid stone, and circular, with a 20 meter diameter. Ring outs, however, are not in effect. The arena elevates off the ground roughly 2 meters, and has stairs leading up to it.
  • All other tournament rules as detailed in the event page apply.
  • Good luck, and have fun.

Finn had made it to the second round. The advance was something that had both invigorated him and made him more cautious. Moving forward, things would continue to be difficult. Who would he be facing in the future? Would he be able to win again? The thoughts came into his head- But not as issues. These thoughts lasted momentarily, quickly thrown to the wayside. The young mage had never learned much self doubt. He was a warrior- Warriors thought of victory. These questions had hardly registered in his mind- And yet they had been there.

Stepping up to the arena, Finn walked to the exact center and then stood there. His opponent had not yet taken the arena- But he had won his first round. Finn would make sure to take whoever it was seriously.

Things weren't always the easiest. There were 2 more rounds left in the tournament, If Hikaru made it past her he would be continuing to the Semi-Final. Hikaru walked up the two feet stage like he did before. The fact that they were second rounders only meant that this man was a winner himself too. Meaning his martial arts or fighting in general was not meant to be taken lightly. It was interesting to see who would he be facing against. Surely the person in front of him looked exactly like a kid.

He wanted to continue to fight and possibly looking forward to making it to the end so this fight was serious for him. He took a halt right behind the middle keeping a bit of distance from his opponent 5 to be exact. It was a short ring. Hikaru kept his right first at eye level and his left fist at nose level assuming a boxing position. they were slightly spread out allowing for his eyes to see his opponent. Hikaru stayed light on his feet. Something boxers usually do to allow for maximum movement. They were not even hops but rather steps. He kept his center of gravity stabilized by staying close to the ground and doing extremely short steps as he watched his opponent waiting for the match to start.

Finn's hands rose up as Hikaru approached the stage. One hand stopped around his chin, about eight inches in front of it, while his other hand remained around the middle of his chest. His knees bent in slightly, weight shifting from foot to foot but his center of balance remaining low. As his opponent took the ring, he finally came to a stop five feet away from Finn. Finn's body was on edge like a track runner, ready for the sign to start. The moment that the fight was started, Finn would act.

Dashing forward a foot and a half with a single push, Finn's left foot would stop on the ground, halting his forward momentum and twisting his body to deliver a spinning back kick with his right foot aimed at the bottom of Hikaru's sternum in a way that would catch both the sternum and the unguarded meat below it. The entire act took place in a fraction of a second, but such attacks were something Finn had been trained in since a young age. This initiation would be the beginning of the fight.

As soon as the battle started Hikaru could tell this man was different from the rest. He went on offense immediately. The man came up to Hikaru and planted his foot on the ground while his other foot came straight for Hikaru. Hikaru took both hands and grabbed the man's foot as soon as he felt pain in his sternum while it happened. Hikaru kept his eye out for any movements his opponent would do while he grabbed onto his foot. As he fought through the pain, Hikaru would use his strength to push the man's foot up toward the sky aggressively, immediately after the kick to the sternum, in an attempt to knock him off his feet and off balance.

Upon doing this he rushed toward the man's left side in mid air at top speed when the man went airborne attacking with his right fist at the man's temple in mid air in an attempt to bash him into the ground and end the match as soon as it started.

Hikaru had made a miscalculation. Regardless of his potential with aura (which Finn didn't know about), without it Hikaru was less than half of Finn's strength. Any attempt to grab a foot like that would be made null, knocking Hikaru back some. The damage would be dispersed throughout Hikaru's body now- Primarily on his sternum, which had taken the full brunt of the attack. Ribs would bruise, if not crack, and do to part of his foot catching Hikaru's solar plexus, the air would be knocked out of him. Breathing would become nigh impossible- Labored breaths and desperate attempts to get enough oxygen into the body.

The kick stopped Finn from needing to spin, allowing him to put his kicking foot forward and right back into his fighting stance. His weight remained shifting between feet, though Finn would act as he processed the information. Hikaru would be knocked back, stumbling or even falling forward onto his hands and knees. Assuming he was stumbling, lacking breath and therefor unable to use his full power, Finn would shoot forward and put his hands on the back of Hikaru's head, leaping and driving his knee into the mans nose. Assuming that Hikaru fell to his hands and knees, Finn would step forward and raise his leg almost straight into the air, bringing it straight down to deliver an axe kick to the back of/top of Hikaru's head.

Miscalculation was the right word in this situation. Hikaru's hands had been there, but they were useless. He was knocked back 3 meters as he fell forward onto his hands and knees His toes curled on the ground as he caught his breath. Catching his breath he heard Fin's foot approaching meaning he wasn't in the clear. Thankfully for the decision of Finn to go for an axe kick high in the sky gave Hikaru enough time to use his right foot to push off the ground and dash forward at max speed. Hikaru's legs scraped on the ground as he avoided the attack. Dashing was different from running. All it took was one leg.

He caught his breath as he dashed, but couldn't help but hear the sound of a foot slam against the ground, most likely where he had just been. As soon as he heard the foot slam, he turned his head to see if He was being pursued his breathing now returning. If he wasn't Hikaru would rush out of the ring on foot at max speed breathing heavily and stand outside of the fighting area catching his breath quickly. Since there was no rules against it, he wasn't out of bounds. however, if he was pursued Hikaru would run breathing heavily, but at least breathing, until he could at least put 10 meters between the two. Pain was temporary victory was eternal.

(Ooc: Being as your timeline conflicts with either prepared ones, aka you're going airborne, so I will now react to this established timeline of you going first airborne- Rather than stumbling or immediately falling forward)

Finn's body would have reacted to either expected outcomes. What he couldn't have known, though, was that Hikaru would go airborne and away from him. As Hikaru's feet left the ground, his body would lightly crumple from the blow. He had indeed taken the attack head on- However, he had not immediately dropped to his hands and knees, nor had he stumbled back, as was expected. He literally went airborne. This eliminated the immediate idea for either of Finn's plans- But it was still something that he could react for.

Finn's foot had landed back on the ground after the spinning back kick. Immediately, he'd push forward and dash after Hikaru. The moment that Hikaru landed on his hands and knees, Finn was already lifting his leg up- Having stopped before him at the perfect distance for this kick. Hikaru looked like wanted to push off and run- However, the man had absolutely no (or bare minimum) oxygen coming into him. His abdominal muscles and pectorals would be straining, his muscles begging for oxygen. He would not be able to simply stand and run away- And certainly not as quick as he tried. His first instinct would be to fight for oxygen, unable to escape.

Finn's foot was already brought down. The rise and fall of an ax-kick was a single motion. The foot came up in an arc to avoid the object (or in this case, person) in front of them, and then drops back down in a single motion. It offered minimum delay- And due to that, a man with no air in his lungs would not be able to dash away from it. This would result in the ax-kick landing on the back of Hikaru's head, snapping his neck down and knocking the consciousness from him with a vital blow.

Hikaru didn't have air, and the next thing he knew everything went black. What seemed for an eternity, Hikaru woke up shortly after with his neck in excruciating pain, but his breathing settled. The noise of the crowd going wild is primarily what woke him up and no one attacking him. He rolled over looking up at the sky realizing exactly what had transpired. He took a look towards the man who had taken him out and he nodded at the man showing his approval. "You better win" Hikaru said. Though it was vague he was referring to the entire tournament. He lossed, and that was one of the things he disliked the most. However, he could come to terms with it if, and only if, the man won the tournament.
