Going for a change of pace and slightly downtrodden since his last mission, Konstantin decided to try and take a break from his seriousness and swap out into some more plain clothes, a nice plain white long shirt and some black pants. In these clothes he blended into the rest of the population in Crocus instead of being a beacon of green and purple. Instead of going to the request board directly for something to do, he decided to see whether anyone around the town would need his help. So going to the shops one after the other he spoke to them most either didn’t need his help or wanted a more permanent worker, unable to do something on a regular routine he was forced to decline those jobs.

Fortunately on the last building he went to an inn, simply called Batra’s Inn, he managed to snag a chef's position after one of them quit, he had been given the job relatively easily as the owner of the inn, Batra was desperate and short staffed even he was going to be at the front of the house instead of socialising at the club where he normally was. Luckily the pay was going to be good, and with at least a bit of skill in the kitchen, Konstantin wouldn’t screw up too much.

Once he was given access to the kitchen, a black apron which he secured to himself as well as donning a chef’s hat to make sure his hair didn’t get into any of the food, so after quickly reading up on the instructions and ingredients for each meal, he decided it would be appropriate for him to test his abilities and make one of each thing considering he had the time before the dinner madness. Jumping forward almost two hours later he had completed all of the meals to what he and his employer deemed suitable quality for customers.

With 5 pm rolling around, Konstantin washed down the kitchen bench for the expected rush of meals, they were coming at a fairly respectable pace, a few chicken wings. “Easy peasy.” He thought to himself as he breaded them and dropped them into the sizzling hot oil bath, in the meantime he received several more orders including hot dogs, 5 of them from one table, so dunking those into the boiling water, he prepped the buns and checked the chicken wings, with them close to being done, he took another look at the orders and noticed fries were also on that check.

Swearing to himself, he grabbed a bunch of french fries and placed them into the adjacent oil cooker as he pulled out the chicken wings with the scoop tool, and let them rest for a bit under a warm grill. Shaking the fry container a few times to avoid them sticking to each other, he returned to the hot dogs removed them from the boiling hot water dabbed them with a paper towel and laid them between the buns. With the hot dogs nearly done he squeezed the pre made sauces called for the waiter to collect them. Fries done cooked to perfection he placed them into a bowl, with the wings on the side, called for a waiter once more and put a cup of sauce on the bowl just as the waiter took it.

It was intense and oh boy it wasn’t about to stop, three orders of hamburgers threw into the kitchen, which led to him putting more fries into the oil as he plucked a few burgers onto the already hot grill. In addition to the burgers he threw in some onions and began to chop up some tomato, lettuce and half the buns. Burgers nearly completed he stuck the buns onto the grill as well, flipped the burgers and placed a sheet of cheese on top of the three burgers. Sizzling away, Konstantin pulled out the fries and placed even amounts onto the three plates where the burgers would go, before rushing back to the burgers and assembling them. First the bun, burger, some sauce, the sauteed onions, tomatoes and lastly the lettuce.
Lightly pressing them down he took each of them to their plates, and called for the waiter.

Surprised by the reduced amount of orders that he was receiving he almost began to look to see whether anyone was actually there, however a waiter burst through the door and gave him a new one, a baked potato. Thinking to himself. “A baked potato….Seriously?” Shrugging to himself, when a man’s after something he might as well get what he wants. So pulling out a potato he pulled out a precooked one and placed it in the deep fryer just for a quick warm up and to get the crust of it nice and crispy. As the potato warmed up, he swiftly chopped up some bacon bits and threw it into a frying pan. Pulling out some sour cream and chives, he began to chop the chives and tossed the bacon as it cooked. With the potato now completed he pulled out a plate, got the potato out of the fryer removed as much oil from it as possible, cut the potato into quarters and laid it down onto the plate. Once on the plate, he dolloped a nice serving of sour cream, followed by the bacon and finished with the chives.

With the ordering coming to a close, Konstantin was able to turn off and wipe down all of the equipment by about 10:50 pm. After completing his task he came to the weary innkeeper who he questioned about the absence of orders. “Hey Batra, I thought you needed a chef and yet I only got a few meals to do, what the heck?” The innkeeper looked down at his feet and began to blush before stuttering, “well...well we did have a special on that most people picked, I just needed you to look after those that didn’t.” Understanding the nature of his role. Konstantin accepted his story and merely asked for his reward. Wanting to get the issue resolved without incident having suspected something happened with a previous wizard Batra gave the money without question allowing Konstantin to leave only saying. “Thank you.”
