Lee Nakamura
It was getting colder outside and darker as the evening progressed. Usually, she would be with her fiance, but this time he was not physically with her. He had to spiritually rest to conserve his energy by combining himself with LeeAnn activating red fox-like eyes instead of mixed match. The local tavern was loud and rowdy with drunken men and mages who kept being assholes to each other. She didn't mind the noise at all. It was at least soothing to her ears to hear such lively people, stupid, but still lively. She had herself a bottle of mead since it was the only thing she could actually drink with not problem with her "weird" diet.

The liquid swished around as she moved the bottle watching it settle then move again to entertain herself. There was not much to do for the Rune Knight since her last lead to finding her mother was yet another dud. It pissed her off more than anything with these false claims of seeing the missing Nakamura. It was either the wrong woman or someone just pulling her leg. People just seem to not have any respect for her morals and goals, did they? Nonetheless, she expected the worst out of people. Her expectations were pretty moderate, nothing too low yet nothing too high. She just assume everyone wanted to be left alone and so she did. Her favorite hobby was to observe people and watch how they acted. They seemed to always entertain her whether it was them being stupid or just plain funny. Either way, it passed the time.

She would take notes on how they acted. The drunk mages roared loudly brawling over who was stronger, showing off brute strength to local girls to win them over. Their muscles were very built as if they lived at the gym. It was a definate babe magnet if you weren't drunk. Those things never seemed to impress her. Then again, she knew no one would talk to a girl with a black mark that covered from her full right arm to her the half of her face and was mistaken for a demon or some sin a lot. It never really bothered her what they thought, but sometimes it actually did. People calling her "devil" or "Hell's angel". This wasn't even a birthmark. It was a illness, a parasite. Something she had been trying to get rid of for so long.

She didn't wear her Rune Knight armor for certain reasons, one was to avoid conflict at all costs. She only wore it on duty. Which...was every once in a while. Her focus drifted to the bartender cleaning dirty glasses and silverware completely immune to the late night noise. She opened the bottle of mead and took a few gulps. The burning feeling slithered down her throat making her cringe. If only she could, she would be drinking tea or coffee, but the illness never allowed that. Staying to herself, she sat in her chair just minding her own business.

A rowdy, tall man came up to her. His breath stunk of booze and cigarettes. It made her nose wrinkle at the stench. "What's a creature like you doing here? Never seen anything like you around here before" he commented. Her eyes closed sipping on her mead. She set the bottle down gently and quietly. "I don't like how you are addressing me, sir. Take your sorry ass out of my hearing range" she said, calmly. The man didn't like her snark comment and growled. He crowded over her causing her to open her eyes and give a unimpressed face. She had seen worse. "I have better things to do than to sit around and take your shit. Find another girl worth your time. I am already taken" she said, implying she was not interested. After a while, he finally left. He was trying to provoke her, but it didn't work. She had more control than most people would think. LeeAnn would notice if anything was out of the ordinary and catch her attention. She was pretty bored after all.

Leyaria

Flame Demon Slayer

Leyaria was beginnning to recognize and appreciate the reality that the nightlife of Crocus was more of an acquired taste than one in which people immediately flocked to. At least, as she interpreted it. Those her age, perhaps those a little bit older, maybe they found solace and entertainment in the prospects of drinking from sunset to sunrise, but Leyaria was not such a person. Much like Hargeon, like Magnolia, like every other part of Fiore she had ventured to before, there wasn't any reason to believe that Crocus would be any different. Nor where there any reason to believe that the people would be any different either.

Drunken oafs, men deluded into believing themselves more and more charming the more they drank, and of course those who sought to capitalize on the madness all around them; More often than not, this was the company that she had to look forward to, the small minority that didn't fall into the earlier groups ironically enough proving to be more irritating than the drunken crowds. And unfortunately for Leyaria, there was no lacking to those kind of people within this place tonight.

It wasn't by design or her intent on running into them, but rather desperation that had her quietly passing through the crowds, hoping to draw as little attention to herself as possible. Her experiences thus far within Crocus had been less than reassuring, and as the outside world continued to get colder and colder as the night fell, it was getting to the point at which sleeping outside was not a feasible choice. But unfortunately too, it wasn't as though she was left with any other option; what little of the funds she had arrived to Crocus with had all but evaporated, leaving her with little more than a handful of coins to her name. Perhaps enough to cover the cost of a couple of drinks, but nothing even close to the cost of renting a room, even the cheapest of options. Taking in what of the warmth she could right now was the best option available to her.

Two larger gentlemen had gotten up from a nearby table, to which she rushed towards it like a hunter rushing to inspect its latest kill. Even in spite of the injury she had suffered to her leg, she still found herself walking all day through the city, and now the throbbing pain was getting to the point where standing was only causing more harm than good. Looking around for a moment, she adjusted the cloak that kept the greater extent of her body covered. For the best, she figured, lest there be a repeat of the night prior.

For several minutes, she sat there, alone, just watching the people as they went about their merriment. Every so often the occasional passerby found their way towards Leyaria, but very quickly they were sent back with a polite rejection. It wasn't until perhaps the third or fourth person had ventured back to their table fruitless that a barmaid made her way towards Leyaria's table. "You know, all those boys, you could have at least let them buy you a drink," the woman remarked, flashing a weak smile as Leyaria lifted her head to meet hers.

Leyaria couldn't help but smile weakly herself. She could have had them buy her a drink, but she neither wanted to set the wrong impression, nor give them any false expectation to further act upon it, especially in the event that she were to lose control and someone got seriously hurt. "That wouldn't have been right," her voice drifted as she lowered her head again slightly, almost ignoring the barmaid as she began to walk away herself. "Excuse me!" she called out, causing the woman to turn around, the smile that was once there now gone. "Could you get me one of those glasses, filled with, I don't know, something to drink I guess?"

The smile appeared again upon the barmaid's face, if not even larger than prior due to the innocence displayed in Leyaria. "Of course dear. Just allow me a minute and I'll be back with your drink."

Already looking forward to that drink, Leyaria looked around again, keeping herself on alert for whomever might have entered or for if someone had been watching her beforehand. But why would anyone do that, she thought to herself.

The thing about late nights and drinks was you got free entertainment. The redhead kept getting stares with her black mark. Many mistakened it for a lot of other things like a rare magic or severe burn. Though, she wished it was those things. It was something a bit more wretched and horrible. She had caught sight of a girl with a cloak. It seemed that she had caught sight of something interesting. She could tell this girl was not wanting much attention much like herself and was perhaps hiding something. It caught her curiosity. Though, it was perhaps none of her business, but still. She was much like a fox. Curious yet clever. Her fox-like eyes suddenly looked up to see the man from earlier with two of his buddies.

"Why can't they just leave me alone" she thought with a irritated face. She would turn back around ignoring them as if they weren't even there to begin with. There wasn't any sort of magical energy coming from them anyways. She could just burn their flesh easily if she really had to. Though, she had been given enough attention for tonight. "Hey, lady" said one of them gruffly. It made her tick the wrong way. Polietly, she gave a fake smile and leaned back. "Why isn't it my old friend and oh look your brought some of your buddies. Some handsome fellows they are. What is it that you want" she said sarcastically. They became even more angered. The fire mage smiled. This was the best entertainment yet. She played around with them as they tried to swing punches. They were so drunk, they missed as she just stood there side stepping until they fell over from being too drunk. "That was fun" she smiled.

This was the most fun she had all day. The bartender seemed to be not affected by the noise. She took a seat next to Leyaria quietly with a small smile from the fun she had. "Drunk people are so much fun to mess with sometimes. It's better than watching them from afar" she said outloud. She looked over to see it was the cloaked girl from across the bar. LeeAnn said nothing to her but only smiled looking at the bartender. "Could I take another drink please" she smiled. The bartender gave her another full bottle of mead. Many thought she was crazy, but she could drink it without any problem. "Thanks, here's some more change to give anyone a free drink. Tell them it's from someone anonymous" she smiled. She placed hte excess jewel on the counter.

Maybe it was the fact that outside of being in Crocus, she pretty much avoided being in bars. She had worked as a bartender in the past, but that compared to this, compared to being approached by people, they were different entirely. She wasn't entirely sure if she liked it or not. Perhaps it would be something that in time she would know more as to if she was a fan or not, but looking around she could see that some people already had some strong opinions. In particular, Leyaria noticed a young woman, looking around the same age, maybe a little bit older than she was, with long red hair. Typically, it wouldn't garner Leyaria's attention, but it was the interaction, or confrontation, that she had with a couple of drunks that really got her attention.

She watched with a mixture of fascination and a bit of surprise as it happened, seeing the woman moving effortlessly, avoiding the attempted strikes by the men and delivering her own in response. Taking a quick look around, she could see that she wasn't the only one who was watching the fight as everyone seemed to have been cheering, some even looking like others were goading people into participating themselves. Leyaria even found herself cheering at one point, slightly shocked at the fact that she had gotten caught up in the excitement. But before she knew it, the fighting was over, the men were on the ground or otherwise knocked out, and the woman was simply seated next to her. Leyaria had to actually do a double-take, surprised that after that she'd sit with her.

"That... That was pretty incredible," Leyaria stammered her words slightly. There was certainly a level of charisma and talent to the red head. Without question a knack for fighting, and apparently winning too. A waitress came by and left a pair of drinks on their table, pointing to several people who shyly waved at Leyaria. Or were they waving at the red head? Leyaria simply ignored them and turned her attention back at the woman, "I thought that guys coming onto you was just par for the course. Can't say I ever expected something like that to happen. But like I said, it was something to see!" Leyaria realized that she was so far into her fascination that she hadn't even bothered with introductions, "My name is Leyaria. It's nice to meet you."

The young redhead had not expected such a praise from the whole bar. This kind of attention was sorta overwhelming. Her cheeks became a little pink out of embarrassment. The people at the bar cheered after the the last of the men passed out. She never had gotten this kind of attention before. Her thirst had gotten the best of her sitting by the woman who took her interest particularly. Right off the bat, the admiring comments started to flood LeeAnn. Two drinks were placed on the counter causing he to jump. The girl next to her was really fascinated with LeeAnn."Its really nothing. i just toyed with them for my own personal amusement" she laughed, shyly. All of this attention was forgien to her. It was a like a whole new world for her in this place.

The vibrant color of life in this place was quality and very warm. She felt welcomed. The girl introduced herself as Leyaria and obviously, LeeAnn found her interesting herself. The people at the bar didn't seem to her mind LeeAnn's black mark that was on her fac, neck, and full right arm. It was sorta releving considered they all were cheering a few minutes ago. "Nice to meet you Leyaria, I'm LeeAnn Nakamura. A fire mage. About of that, it was all knowing how to handle people. It comes with years of practice, but its a good skill to develop" she smiled.

What was about this girl that LeeAnn had found interesting? Well, she didn't know quite particularly yet, but she was wanting to find out. LeeAnn took another sip of her drink feeling the bitter taste of the alcohol. She never liked it, but it was the only thing her body allowed her to drink. "I dont know what is it about people that's so comforting. I guess its the fact they are so...interesting" she smiled. It had been a while since she felt like her real self again.

After the display she had seen only moments earlier, Leyaria wasn't sure exactly what to expect of this woman. Certainly someone tough, probably one of those 'macho' characters, someone with a strong sense of worth. She didn't know why to suspect that from this woman; perhaps it was the fact that she had seen her move so fluidly, so effortlessly knock out those men that she just assumed it to be an everyday thing for her. Hearing the woman speak though, Leyaria felt she was completely off. Granted, she did say that she played with them for her amusement, so she must have been pretty strong. She took another glance at the woman before looking back at the fallen men, then another back at the woman. "I can't help but worry when it's something serious. I guess now they're probably thinking the same thing," she said, pointing to the men, one of them very slowly looking like he was getting to his feet before falling once again.

The woman introduced herself as LeeAnn, a name that Leyaria couldn't help but smile at. LeeAnn and Leyaria, the two seemed to mesh rather nicely, she thought. What really intrigued Leyaria was that LeeAnn said she was a fire mage. I never thought that people would actually be proud of wielding this sort of Magic. She doesn't seem like the type... Leyaria stared absently for a moment at the woman, wondering if what she had was similar to what she was afflicted with. She wouldn't dare ask her outright, lest what happened to those people moments earlier happen to her as well, but she was curious. "Obviously seems to be. Not only did it ensure your safety, but made you sort of a celebrity!"

To an extent it was true, if only at least for the moment. Everyone had been every so often turning their heads, seeing if LeeAnn had left yet, if she had picked another fight, or perhaps even if they would able to fight her. However it went though, as time went, less people seemed to show the same interest, returning fully to their original plans. To some degree, it went along with what LeeAnn said, about people being interesting. There were those who seemed like they actually wanted to fight; whether or not LeeAnn indulged them being completely irrelevant. Even LeeAnn was interesting to Leyaria. She actually had control over her Magic, and seemed proud of it for that matter. "I've never looked at it like that, but I can sort of see what you mean." Leyaria took a sip from her drink, coughing shortly after as she took too great a sip. Once she had recovered and recomposed herself, she glanced back at the woman next to her, "So, your fire Magic. Is that like your fighting skills there? You trained that too? Like, can you control it? Use it and stuff?"

Soonly after, the attention dwindled to a near minimum. For LeeAnn, that was good. She never liked being the center of attention unless it was on her terms. The redhead gave a sighing look of relief o her face looking around the tavern. The rest of them were going on about their business prior to little performance that was done. The girl next to LeeAnn seemed really interested into LeeAnn. It seemed she invested time into the magic idea. Why? She would probably soon find out. Leyaria seemed to think serious conflicts would make her worried. Yes they did, but LeeAnn knew she was capable of getting herself out alive. LeeAnn was scared of loosing someone else rather than her whole life. Though, she prefered to never think of that. "I do understand you concern. If it was serious, I would of not done what I have done. I would actually knock them out and used magic, but I dont think a large brawl is what any of us need. When it's serious, I use my Rune Knight title to get people to shut up. Usually that works, but I never like using it. It's more hiding my true capabilites" she explained. LeeAnn probably misinterpret what she said, but conversations was conversation.

Leyaria had already hooked LeeAnn's attention. She didn't know what was about her that she seemed to want to know about her. A sweet girl from the looks of it and very polite. Unlike most people she talks to, LeeAnn seemed more like her true self again. Free from problems. Free from the reigns of her worries. Leyaria mentioend that she was sorta of a celebrity. The praise made LeeAnn's cheeks turn a rose color out of modesty. "Okay, that's a bit stretched. I did it because I was bored and they just happened to bother me. Usually, I dont do those kinds of things. Only when you provoke me" she laughed nervously. LeeAnn was modest when it came to being praised. Even though she yearned for it, she somehow always turned it down. Mainly because she couldn't see herself that way.

With every minute being in this tavern, she became less known as a monster and more as a person. The mark on her face was always a subject people brought up and it was always a hassle to explain or people just randomly freaked out and ran the other direction. LeeAnn sought the opportunity to use the "demon or monster" act to scare people to leave her alone sometimes. But she never liked the idea. Leyaria coughed making LeeAnn smiled a little and pat her back gently. "Now, don't go slamming that thing down. You have to take smaller sips" she commented. She let the gilr recollect herself from the shock of the too big of a sip The redhead took another sip, but smaller this time to make the drink last. Leyaria then asked about her magic with several questions. It made the redhead blink then give a slight smile.

"With being a Rune Knight, I am pretty good at hand-to-hand and my fire magic. It really depends in what I need the most. I mostly use magic to get things done. I can control it very well. Why you ask?" she replied. Curious to see what she seeked in her answer, it was probably wanting some sorta of possible tips and pointers to get her. She gave the girl a smile.

A Rune Knight. To some extent, it explained everything, or at the very least, it explained the woman's apparent proficiency in combat. Having grown up seeing firsthand what the Rune Knights are capable of, Leyaria was hardly one to question the potential of their power - and to a degree as well, the level of influence they carried. However, outside of what she had been familiar and recalled before of them, LeeAnn didn't seem to match that model. There was something different about her, something kinder, more innocent. She had a hard time picturing LeeAnn in that role, or within that organization even.

Leyaria took another sip of her drink, mindful not to take too great of one. Choking on it was hardly an enjoyable experience and there was still a faint trace of the burning that resided within her throat as a result. "You know," Leyaria started, her eyes still tracking on the men who had fallen earlier to LeeAnn, now having regained themselves and proceeding out of the bar as quickly and discretely as possible, "They're probably luckier than they even realize. I mean, you're a Rune Knight. You could have arrested them. A hangover and a bruise against the head are probably light when you consider the alternatives."

She listened as LeeAnn spoke, certainly not having any lacking of confidence. Between that swagger and her combat prowess, it was hard not to put together that she might have been a Rune Knight, though Leyaria might not have realized that herself had LeeAnn not say anything in the first place. Listening intently to what she had to say about her Magic, Leyaria didn't realize that she might have come off as too interested in the matter, until she herself found pressed with questions. "Uh," she stammered, not having expected to be asked herself, "I don't know. I guess I've just, you know I've heard stories before. Of people who I guess were mages but couldn't control their powers." She took another sip before continuing, "I suppose it just got me curious is all. Is it hard to control power like that or are things like that more anomalies? Figured I'd ask."

The subject of her being a Rune Knight was not one to mess with. Naturally, she never liked bragging about her title. She only use it to maintain order or to get someone to listen to her. Most people never gave her time of day due to her mark. It was a matter that they probably didn't think of her as any importance. The ones who flashed off their ranking in the Rune Knights were bound to be killed. She liked to stay undercover due to her reasons in the past and numerous stories she heard through bar to bar. After a few momentso silence, she looked at Leyaria who metioned she could have arrested them for doing what they did. "Yes, I could have with my rank. Although, I am not that kind of person. It would an abuse of power. Now, it was another one of my comrades and not myself they could of have worse off. I rather leave a scar on a person and have them learn than to kill or arrest. My mind works differently than most people" she said. It was true. Her mind did learn differently than msot people. She found it easier to have a person learn their ways through a scar as a reminder than just an arrest. Perhaps, it was the same thing, but she never liked using that power unless seen fit.

A bar was great for stories or advice for anything from personal issues to learning how to do something such as magic or weaponry. She found herself to learn more here than a book would ever tell her. LeeAnn just assumed it was just a shyness of asking her these questions or doesn't like to talk about the subject much. Either way, LeeAnn was happy to tell her a little bit. With just a small stammer and an explination, the Rune Knight listened carefully nad made eye contact. She could hear her mother telling her proper body language and how to act around people. That was one thing she hated about her mother, the constant bickering "Stand up straight," or "Look at someone when they're talking" would reminder her to act upon these things naturally.

"Ah. Understood, things like that are extremely common for any mage. I hear countless stories ranging from good to extremely bad" she said. She looked down at her hands that were covered in leather gloves holding the glass bottle of mead. A few silent moments collecting her thoughts. "Magic is more...emotional base. Those who were consumed by their magic were weak. They let the magic control them. Its conquer or to be conquered. Obviously, you would want the first choice. My two pieces of advise to anyone who wants to learn magic is this" she said. Taking a deep breath, she would start on the first piece. "You gotta make friends with your magic whether its Dragon Slayer or a simple fire magic base. Its all magic. Don't let it define who you are. Lett you define it. Learn to love your magic. If you're scared of it, it will not love you back. Build your confidence if you're scared, tell yourself you are awesome. A great person. Build it up! Find a friend or two that makes you feel beter. All of that. There's a lot to magic and controlling it. But...the more you put effort into controlling it the more you learn to like it" she explained. After that small speech, the redhead leaned back remembering her difficulties in learning it. Sure, she was a bit of a naturally when performing it, but there were lots of bumps in the roads with spells backfiring and scared to hurt her teachers with it.

A small laugh came from her. "Lastly, find someone who you can trust. The term 'lone wolf' is false. Wolves who are alone die off. Join a guild or something. In general, people need each other to survive like this place. Talking, the interaction, a laugh or two. YOu just have to find that one friend. One person who can make your life seems flawless. Never ever give up. Sorry if this turned into a speech, Leyaria. I get caught up in these things. Tahts what I usually tell someone who's learning magic. Two key points in my mind is positive emotion and a good friend. Of course, there's practice and all that other stuff, but without those two points. You can't get anywhere" she smiled.

LeeAnn's words were kind, they were soft, yet at the same time there was a level of truthfulness to them that stung worse than even the most cruel words that Leyaria had heard in the past. Is that me? Am I weak? I must be... It was like a punch in the gut, realizing that this woman - even though she might have been trying to be optimistic - probably best described Leyaria's current state. And to hear it herself, it was painful to hear. "Weak... I see," she quietly muttered aloud.

Listening more to LeeAnn speak, Leyaria wanted to find optimism in her words, but struggled. By all accounts, Leyaria imagined that everything this woman was saying was probably true, but some of it seemed utterly impossible for Leyaria. How could she ever love the Magic that had afflicted her? All that it seemed to do was leave destruction in its wake, and the worst of it all was that she had almost no control whatsoever to it. If she could control it, she would have; perhaps then she could have prevented the deaths which took place in Hargeon, in Magnolia, and in every other place she had been to before. "Was that how you did it? How you came to control your Magic?"

Leyaria rose her arm as a waitress walked by, indicating to her that another drink was needed. She didn't have much coin, but she felt that it was only right that it go towards LeeAnn. After all, for the first time in a while it seemed like Leyaria had found a friend, or so she might have thought. What the redhead said of joining a guild, part of Leyaria was terrified of the prospect. It wasn't being in the company of other mages that scared her, but rather that she have another incident and seeing them suffer as a result. "Were you a part of other guilds before joining the Rune Knights?"

She took a sip of the latest drink which had been placed on their table. This time it seemed to go down much more smoothly than it did before. It was even starting to taste better too. One of the things Leyaria did recall during her time traveling from place to place were the stories of the guilds. It seemed like no matter where she went, there were plenty of stories of the guilds that were located there. At times she wished that she could have been a part of them, but was that really for the best? According to LeeAnn, it would have been. But she couldn't know what it was like, what it was like to be cursed as an effective living bomb. She wondered that if LeeAnn knew, would she be so quick to think what she does?

It was really quirky advice that she was giving, but it held some truth to it from personal experience. She saw a sad face on Leyria's face. None of this added up, she asked if she knew magic and just wanted hear stories and now looked sad. This left the redhead confused. Usually, she was able to read what a person was thinking most of the time or at least a good guess. This was very puzzling for her. "What's with the sad face? Now, dont look so down? What's wrong" she asked a little worried. She hoped that she didn't say anything to offend the girl. The redhead became a little concerned of why she was acting this way.

Leyaria asked if that's how so gone to learn her magic. If she was giving this advice, why would she be giving it? "Why yes of course. Actually, when...something happened to me i had to relearn magic again. Even with having a experience prior before at the time, my fiance was the one who told me that. He's very odd and weird, but in a way its true. Learning to love magic will allow you to accept yourself in a way. I still have a long wat to go on accepting myself, but still. It's all emotion" she said. LeeAnn took off her jacket revealing a black mark that covered her full right arm, neck, and right part of her face covered in a disgusting black. It was different from a Demon Slayer mark and bared something deeper than that. Her red eyes changed to her true eye color. Both different colors. Her right eye was gray-white as her left eye was black with a red eye color. "This caused me to relearn magic. Now, this is not Slayer magic. It's a rare disease, actually. It's a lot worse than Slayer magic to some extent. It's caused me much pain even to this day. People tried to kill me because of it. Why? I don't know, but I can't berid of this mark" she said. Her eyes darkened as she looked up to see some people giving her looks with wide eyed stares. What she had done earlier was soon forgotten as they all looked as if they had seen a ghost. She was used to this a lot. It did hurt, but she glared back at them.

She took a deep sigh. Revealing this was a task itself, but it was good to get it off her chest. Whether this girl would be scared of her or not, she was glad it was done. Doing it on your own instead of someone asking about it were two different things. Leyaria asked if she had been members of any other guids before that. Infact, LeeAnn hadn't but visited a lot of them and allowed her to stay at the guild when she was on duty to guard the front gates such as Fairy Tail or Blue Pegasus. She hadn't been in Hargeon so she would of known. But according to a girl named Assama, she siad was like Fairy Tail in many ways. "No i haven't actually, but I was a guard for a few of them protecting the guilds when I was in my lower ranks of Apprentice and Stageholder. Fairy Tail, Blue Pegasus, and a few smaller ones I have seen first hand. Lamia Scale I dont know much about. Fairy Tail is very close and accepts anyone as family from the moment you join. They were wary when I came there, but they allowed me to stay since I was guarding their guild. If you want people who accept ya despite who you are, Fairy Tail is your best bet. Though BLue Pegasus is more on the looks, they rae close, but no where near as Fairy Tail. Those two guilds have a lot of good things about them" she smiled. She wished she could of been a Fairy, but loved the Rune Knights too much to leave.

Hearing her story, seeing the marks - the scars of times past - on LeeAnn, it was eye-opening. With everything that had seemingly befallen her up to this point, Leyaria had become convinced, whether or not it was rational or not, that the overwhelming majority of mages, those who actually took joy and pride in their Magics had acquired them easily. That there had been no sort of suffering or anything to which they had to feel bad or regret about. Hearing LeeAnn's words, recognizing the pain echoed through them as similar to what she had experienced time and time again, it dispelled that notion for Leyaria.

As she put down her mug, there was a bit of a personal pride within her, seeing that she had managed to down the drink without any real issue. No sick feeling, nothing like that. When she turned her head, she was a bit surprised to see LeeAnn looking at her, almost concerned. She gulped as she tried to explain, or rather, as close as she could to not explain but actually explain the situation. "It's nothing..." She began, a part of her immediately feeling sick for lying, wanting so desperately to just unload everything unto this woman, to confide in her all the guilt that she had come to feel over the past several years. "Uh, you've probably seen a lot of terrible things since you've joined the Rune Knights I'd imagine. The worst of it, the people, what do they feel? I mean like, do they ever show guilt or anything? Does it seem like they change at all?" On the outside, it might have been morbid, perhaps even a sickly question to ask, but that was all because she struggled internally with how to ask. It wasn't as though she could just say, "Am I redeemable even though I've probably led to the deaths of countless innocent people."

That ran through her head as LeeAnn spoke of some of the guilds that existed within Fiore. Leyaria had known that there were a handful of them that existed, some cities even having multiple ones, but the ones in particular that she spoke of, Fairy Tail, Lamia Scale, those were ones that she had heard of before. Legends to some degree, infamous in other parts - and as much depending on who you ask - but undisputedly held to a high standard within the Magical world apparently. "I've heard of them, when I was... traveling. I've heard a lot of people say really great things about them. You liked Fairy Tail, when you were stationed there I mean?"

The stares felt like daggers to her heart. Internally, she was still affected, but physically, made it look like that it didn't affect her. People seemed to change their mind quickly when they seem to notice an odd quirk about you. They are so quick to judge in general. It never really seemed to change, but there were those who overlooked a flaw or two you had and loved you for who you are. LeeAnn could see something similar with Leyaria She wasn't telling her directly, but had that look in her eyes that she had seen oh so too many times. "You know, thats a silly question. We all have sins in the past we've comitted or going to in the future. Humans kill others every day. The Rune Knights aren't all perfect like they make themselves out to be. Some people learn and grow as others are too stuck in their ways. I try to make people learn. It seems you have had something similar. You wanna know a secret? I have killed people before. I am not proud of it, but the past is the past. Leyaria...I can read people very well. I can see something is bothering you. You want to tell me something? If you are scared that I may judge you, then you should think again. I'm normally not this open with people" she said. She would leave it up to her if she felt comfortable to tell her. LeeAnn had her secrets too and didn't like others to know due to their reaction.

She would see herself in Leyaria, even now, she could see a little bit of herself in her. LeeAnn only gave a small smile to the girl as she seemed to down a drink. The questions about the guilds would ring up as she asked about Fairy Tail. The redhead's eyes lighten up. "People espcially Rune Knights misjudge them for destructive people, but they are actually very warm hearted and open minded people. When I was there, they knew I was a Rune Knight. I was a threat or eeyree to them but they soon learn I did not care what they did. First handedly, I saw they treated each other like family and are there for each other. An odd bunch they are, but they are extremely close and dont care who you are. Some have a lot to learn about hte guild as others have the true meaning behind it and live by the rule. If I were to say so myself, its a guild I do recommend for anyone to consider. Perhaps my first choice, there is nothing else like it in the world" she said.

She remembered how rowdy they were and noisy, but they surely did a good job of keeping her entertained. The family vibe they gave off was something she yearned for with her own family like her brother and her own father. Though both were too busy for her, if anything she could bother her brother. The very thought of him made her eyes darken to a deeper shade hoping he would stop his life and come see them. They were in the same town, same buiding, and same team. Why hadn't he at least consider it once without her mentioning it? "Hikaru.... she whispered looking at her drink a little sad. Watching the drink swish round and round in her bottle, she gave a long sigh. "I will say, give you something most people yearn for. Family. Man, if I could just get a fragment of that and place in my brother and my own father that would make life so much easier" she sighed.

It ate away at her, more than perhaps what she ever could have imagined it would have. The pain she kept hidden, it was hardly new to her. She had felt like she had spent so much of her time lately doing just that, keeping things hidden. The pain - and guilt - she felt, the marks which had come to overtake her body, it had become second nature for her to hide these things from others. But then why did it torment her so much right then, sitting beside this woman - who clearly wanted to help - and simply looking for a way to spin around her question, to evade saying what she honestly wanted to. She lifted her head slightly, just enough to catch a quick glance at LeeAnn, the smile of her reflecting upon her time in the company of the Magic guilds being a rather nice contrast to the display of conflict that was emanating from Leyaria's.

She took a deep breath, conceding whatever might happen next within this moment. "LeeAnn..." Her words trailed, a weakness present in it that was very quickly drowned out by the loud voices around them. Leyaria sat patiently, waiting for them to die now for a moment; what she was about to say was tough enough, and she doubted she had the will or the strength to repeat it a second time. "This... This was what I wanted to show you..." As she began to remove the gloves that she had come to wear so often, the very beginning of tears started to form within her eyes, the fear of the absolute worst case scenarios already playing before her in her mind. As she took them off, she placed her hands against the table, the blackness which overwhelming consumed them sticking out wholely against the brownish wood.

"I wanted to save my sister. I.. I thought that, that it would have done something..." A tear began to descend down her cheek, "But it didn't. Now, I'm just this... this freak! This monster and there's nothing I can do! I don't know how to control it!" The guilt of what she had done, whether intentional or not, it ate away at whatever walls she had built up to this point. Sitting there, confessing what had been plaguing her for so long, it wouldn't have mattered if LeeAnn were a Rune Knight or not. The consequences of what she had done in the past meant nothing to her, as compared to what she believed she was going to lose in the form of her friend, LeeAnn.

She took in another breath, ignoring the tears that continued to flow, "Now... now when it happens..." Unable to continue, she found herself turning around and reaching hold of LeeAnn, wrapping her arms around her as she cried out into her shoulder. Leyaria didn't know what to do. It was as though everything that had elapsed prior to her arriving in Crocus had finally come to a tipping point, that moment being right here. "Everyone around me keeps dying... I'm scared... I'm scared and I don't know what to do!"

LeeAnn was trained to never like demons or vampire. Though, demon slayer magic was something that could never learn to really hate. It was just magic. Her brother had it. Was he evil? Nope. He was just too serious and busy. The mood seemed to darken in the mood as she seen Leyaria was wanting to open up. The redhead remained relaxed since she seemed harmless at most. This girl seemed too timid to do anything. Unlike other Rune Knights, she was different. She was a bit more understanding and leant with morals rather than law. Sometimes the law was not always right, but other times a form of order or control.

Her name was whispered, nearly hidden with the louder voices in the room. She could barely hear her. After a while, she told her what she wanted to tell LeeAnn. Pulling off the glove, she could see a black mark. LeeAnn studied it a little. She had read about this before either it was the same disease she had or Demon Slayer. LeeAnn had only heard about it, but never seen a mark in person. Whatever the case maybe, it just made her more curious and naturlly liking Leyaria even more. The redhead shown her right arm that was covered in blackness. IT was the disease that she had mentioned earlier. "Lemme guess, some kind of magic? I think...if it what I think it is..." she said. Careful to not say the word, but she mouthed it to Leyaria. "Demon Slayer" she mouthed, but no sound came out.

Leyaria told her the story about how happened. She gotten it to save her sister. It was a typical situation. She only did what she thought was right. LeeAnn would of done the same thing. It seemed to trouble the girl to tell the Rune Knight. But she knew in the end it would be best to get it off ehr chest. LeeAnn grew to really feel sorry for her. She caused death and from the sound of it didn't really seem to mean it. Females were easier to talk to then men sometimes. LeeAnn had a nature to help people in suttle ways, but in this situation. She would be more direct that she would of have been in the past or at all. Leyaria threw her arms around LeeAnn at the breaking point. She kept so much of this inside and became a time bomb just bound to explode. A few small cold tears rolled down her cheeks thinking about how she felt when she came home after her fiance saved her life. The guilt of not saving her mother. The true reason why she became a Rune Knight. Not to copy off her brother or to follow her family's footsteps. It was to solely find her mother and mend her family back together. She let Leyaria cry for as long as she needed.

The redhead really did feel awkward. It was not all the time someone cried in your arms. Though, she didn't mind. She did the best she could holding the frightened girl. Finally, she talked. "Please, dont cry. You're safe. You are definately not a monster! If anything, I am more of a monster than you will ever be. I...have a body of a ghoul. This disease turn me into body of one, but stll human. I have to eat amputated human limbs to survive. I cant kill someone if it meant my life. I know what its like to feel hated and to loose someone trying to save them" she whispered.

She had a few small tears thinking about her mother and how torn both her uncles and father were. Trying to reach out to her brother, it failed most of the time. "If it weren't for my fiance, I would not be here. Leyaria, I see you are more than jsut a killer. Things happen to us. Sometimes its out of our control! Life likes to make us suffer. I have watched people die before my eyes and that is just as much as murder. It's okay to feel scared because you know what. I am too. I fear someone may find out my secret and arrest me or even kill me because of my illness. Something out of my control. But...my fiance told me something that might be useful to you. A little choas is never bad" she said. Her long speech was too long even for her. But she let that sink it. It was a long time before she broke the loving hug with the girl, showing her that she had a friend. Hans, her fiance, was an oddball and very annoying, but loving and held the most greatest advice one could ever use.

"Sometimes, it not always as bad as you think. You just need a little help. What kind of magic is it? Fire? Lightning? Water? What ever it is. I will help you. You have my word. You were given a tool and no one taught you how to use it.I may not be the S-rank wizard you think I am, but I am pretty much experienced enough to help you with the basics" she smiled. Lee really hoped that Leyaria would accept her offer. It was one that she could really use. LeeAnn always had the help whenever she needed it, but it as time she returned the favor to someone else in need.

To some degree, things had very much become routine for Leyaria since she had arrived within Crocus. Her nights typically ended up like this to some degree, her ending up in a bar. They were some of the only places in which she felt some sort of solace and safety. The streets seemed to offer little, and truth be told too, there was little to be found in these areas. However though, there was at least sort of mental security that she felt when she was there, just not being alone. And ironically enough, in the company of LeeAnn, the woman who she had just met earlier this night, she had felt the most safe in however long it had been. She didn't for how long she cried, only that right now she felt at peace.

She heard soft words as tears continued to flow, the hardships that LeeAnn had endured combined with the sympathy that she was showing Leyaria to be a uniquely powerful one. It almost made her want to cry more; who was this woman to waste her time on someone like Leyaria, she almost found herself thinking. As she really listened though to what afflicted LeeAnn, Leyaria lifted her head slightly, her eyes red from crying, a shocked expression on her face. This woman had endured a terrible hardship, one that Leyaria wasn't sure she could ever hope to survive living with. There was a pain associated with her Magic, both in respects to physical and emotional pain, but something like what the Rune Knight had to endure, that was different entirely. Leyaria might have been an outcast by the standards of society and appearances, but LeeAnn, she was something else, a monster to those.

"I... I didn't know..." Her words were soft; she hadn't been aware of it, but she couldn't help but feel guilty for it nonetheless. As she imagined it must have been as difficult if not moreso difficult for her to speak about such a thing as it was for Leyaria to talk about her Magic. The faintest indications of a smile appeared on Leyaria as she marvelled at how similar they were, at least to that extent. The contrast though, became all the more apparent when she heard LeeAnn had a fiance. To an extent, she was jealous; outside of her sister, Leyaria never knew anyone who had shown any sort of care, any sort of genuine love towards her. This woman, LeeAnn, whether she knew it or not, she was much luckier than she made herself out to be.

Leyaria took a deep breath as she looked down at her hand, the blackness not appearing quite as horrific as she had come to know it to be. Perhaps it was that she was becoming jaded, numb to it. Or perhaps it was that she was coming to accept it? The latter scared her, but so did the former. If she stopped caring, what else did it mean she could stop caring about? She turned her attention back to LeeAnn as she was asked about what sort of Magic she used, "Fire. Or at least, I think it's fire. But it doesn't look like it. It's white, everything just melts away," it gave her goosebumps, having to reflect back on what she had seen her Magic do before, bodies burning apart right before her, buildings literally crumbling down into nothingness, leaving her alone in the ashes, "I don't feel it. Nothing. It doesn't burn me; I don't even feel the heat from it."

She looked down at the table, the drink which she had ordered having remained there, largely untouched. For the first time in what seemed like forever, she reached over to grab it, the corruption on her hand exposed and all, and took a sip. It felt good as it went down; not so much with respects to taste, but just having it to numb the pain she was feeling on the inside. Putting the glass down again, she looked right at LeeAnn, "I appreciate the offer," her face was stoic, "But I'm worried ..." A lone tear began to fall, "I'm worried that if you try, it'll claim you too..."

LeeAnn was always good with putting up a fight no matter the odds. That was just her personality. Her father referred to her as a lion a lot. She was always dangerous and held a lot of honor in herself for what she did. It was apart of being raised in a family full of Rune Knights. Her mother was just like her, a free spirit. She would always accidentally break rules or not follow orders, but it was all based on her morals at the time of the event. It seem Leyaria just had a hard time with this whole thing. Hardship were just apart of life. Of course, LeeAnn had many, many moments where she was about to give up or just break down from past trauma, but Hans or someone else would pick her back up. She had to remember her true goal was to find her mother and find a cure for this wretched disease. LeeAnn would only give a caring smile as she explained everything.

When it came time for when she asked about helping Leyaria with her magic. She mentioned it was fire. White fire. Even she was not even sure it was fire, but whatever it was it never affected her. Of course, your own magic would not affect you. Or maybe that made more sense in her head. LeeAnn tried to wrap her head around it. Perhaps this was something that she would want to know more about, knowledge was something she did yearn. You never know what kind of information one may need for any situation. Although, what caught her attention was the way Leyaria replied to her offer. Claiming a life. She was worried about claiming her life. "No risk, no reward. If this magic has always bothered you, how could you expect it to get better if you don't control it? Hey I am a capable mage. I think a little fire wont hurt me" she said with a smile.

She would lean back in her chair as she emerged a blue fire from her finger tips. The fire extingushed in a few seconds. The redhead look at Leyaria. "Kid, I would suggest this for the best. You are going to suffer more. I have faith you would control it if I were to be a target. Remember, magic is based on emotion. Learn to befriend it, it will do as you say" she replied. Befriending the girl she gave her her card with the address of the magic council headquarters and her name and where to find her. "Stay in touch if you can, if you have any questions feel free to come to me. I have to leave soon. Nice talking to you and best wishes! You can do it" she said.
